Data selection tab from Info package.

dear all,
I'm using BI7 for my project. I have 1 simple question, how do you un-select a data target from the data selection tab?
e.g.
in the data selection i have 2 DSO
0DSP_1 and ZDSP_1... how do i remove DSO 0DSP_1 from the selection tab?

If you are using an infopackage...
under Data Target tab you are seeing 2 DSO.
in order to select only one: select the option "Select Data targets"
and then select the DSO which you want to load.
If you compeltly doesn't want to use the 2nd DSo then delete the update rules between the infosource and DSO.

Hi,
You need check Selection in RSO2 in ECC then that field is available for Selectgion in InfoPackage.
Here I'm giving 0CUST_SALES_ATTR DataSource Example for Selection Change, so see the logic and accordingly you can change your DataSource Selections.
See the properties of that field in RSA2 in ECC and you can also make it for selection, use the following program and see it.
In ROOSFIELD table give the datasource 0CUST_SALES_ATTR and see , select only Active version Fields.
For the following fields you can find FIELD = X, it indecates that it is abailable for selections, so in this way you try to do it by using following program and check.
KUNNR
SPART
VKORG
VTWEG
REPORT ZBI_ROOSFIELD NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING .
tables ROOSFIELD.
Update ROOSFIELD set SELECTION = 'X' where
OLTPSOURCE = '0CUST_SALES_ATTR' and
FIELD = 'FAKSD '.

Data selection options in info package

hi,
I am using filter for current month while loading data into info provider (let us say 0calmonth). I am using below code in info-package after selecting type '6' (ABAP editor),
data: l_s_range type rssdlrange,
l_date type d.
l_date = sy-datum.
l_year = l_date+0(4).
l_mth = l_date+4(2).
concatenate l_year l_mth into l_month_high.
concatenate l_year '01' into l_month_low.
loop at l_t_range into l_s_range where fieldname = 'CALMONTH'.
if dy-subrc = 0.
l_s_range-low = l_month_low.
l_s_range-low = l_month_high.
modify l_t_range from l_s_range.
endif.
endloop.
But now I would like to use created date as filter instead of calmonth/year (yyyymm). please note that calmonth has only one value but calendar day will have both from and to values. Please give me code to use created date (mm/dd/yyyy).

I have got the solution by myself (trial and error method). Solutions: there is a SAP delivered variable to calculate current month (Variable name is 0CMONTH).
Is there any variable to calculate both previous month and current month as filter value? pls reply.

Info-package setting: Data selection tab

Hi,
I have to give selection conditions in info-package.
The need is to restrict the values of a particular field to start with BP and BQ.
i.e i need only values starting with BP and BQ.
I gave from and to values in the selection screen of info-package as BP* and BQ*
But the error says CP(Compare Pattern) is not allowed.
How else can i make the info-package to select values starting only with BP and BQ

Hi Yeshwanth,
If this is a character string, then check the length and start from BP0000, as per the length of the feild till the end which in our case would be BQ0000.

Selection option in info package

Hello Friends,
While loading data in BW system (3.5 Version).
I would like to use selection option in info package for one particular field.
I can see only range options (Selection From and Selection To) which does not satisfy my requriement.
I need to select nearly 5000records which are in one specific number range, so, how can i select these records in infopackage.

Did you think of InfoPackage routine?
Try to write a routine under data Selection tab based on your data selection scenarios. I think you can achieve your goal.
1) Data selection tab - Type column, choose ABAP routine.
Whendo we use this?
when we cannot extract data selectively by giving direct conditions in selection tab, eg: "list all the employees who joined on the current date". here current date value changes every day when we run the query. In such cases we cannot give direct condition, we need to write routine to get the current date

Not able to put data selection condition in data selection tab of infopakag

I was loading data from data source as data mart ( export data sauce from ODS) to other ODS.
when I tried to do delta Initialization with data transfer , I am not able to put data selection condition in data selection tab of infopakage.
when I choose Full Update in Update tab . It enables data selection fields in data selection tab. and I could put the condition.
I have checked in transfer structure as well , the fields are marked for selection.
Please advice .

Ashutosh,
As you are doing delta upload the data selection tab will be disabled, if you want to do the selective load then you need to do init update with your selection.
When you do the full updtae then definitely the data selection tab will be enabled for all the objects.

Unable to change date selections in data selection tab

Hi experts,
I'm new here, i scheduled the init load with date selections in the data selection tab, i successfully loaded the data and now i want to go for the delta but i'm unable to delete the date selection in the data selection tab. what problem is this.
can we load the data with the same selections in delta update ? how can we delete the date selections
orelse nothing happens even if there is a selection in the data selection tab? the date is a past one.
help me out plz

delta loads copy the selections from the init load.
Often while scheduling delta loads u will see a message 'selections copied from the last init load'.

Check below link to understand the RANGE type objects in ABAP. The OBJNAM is the object name which is used for selection in the InfoPackage. l_t_range is the internal table which contains all the selections used in the InfoPackage. So, if you need dynamic selections you have to code to populate dynamic values for the corresponding InfoObject in this Internal table. Low/High are the fields which actually contains the "From" and "to" range in selection.
Option - <,>,=, <> etc.

How to debug an OLAP variant which is in Infopackage Data selection Tab

Hi experts,
How can I debug an OLAP variant used in the data selection tab for an infopackage? The loading is done via process chains. I am trying to debug the SAP delivered OLAP variant 0P_PPER3 of infoobject 0FISCPER3 (SAP exit). If I am not mistaken I believe the function module is RSVAREXIT_0P_PPER3. Thanks.

This method is always good (if you have authorization to work in SM50):
put before your code an endless loop like this one:
data flag type c.
clear flag.
do.
if flag = ' '.
exit.
endif.
enddo.
then start your load...go to SM50 and here you will see your process looping on the same pgm...highlight the process and access into it in debug mode from the menu...
here you can change flag in 'X', exit from the loop and continue all the process in debug !!!

Data transfer processes and info packages in new client

Hi,
We have created new client from the development client.
The Info cubes and update rules are available in new client, bu the data transfer processes and info packages are not moved to the new client.
What is the actual sequence of steps to be followed when new client created from development client. Have I missed some sequence or steps. What are the sequence of steps to be followed when created a new client.
Kindly suggest to resolve this issue.

Hi,
I have never seen clients created on the BI system. As such all the objects in the BI system are client independent as well as the data stored in the tables does not have the mandt field. Hence you cannot distinguish different clients in the BI system. Also if you notice all the request in BI are workbench request and not customizing requests.
I do not think this is a viable solution. Maybe you can contact SAP.

Data Selection tab in infopackage

Hi Gurus
Its a very basic question but can anybody tell me what function the "data selection " Tab does in infopackage?
I know the setting required on R3 side for that but not sure why we use the data selection.
Can we use this data selection for master data as well?

Hi Kris,
Data Selection tab allows you to select: date ranges, document numbers and the like.
In order to have filds in there, you should first select in the DataSource in the R/3 side wich field could be selected.
If it is a Generic DataSource, you can do it running RSO2 transaction code.

I created one text datasource ZACCOUNT_GRP_TEXT based on infoset.
in r/3 , SPRAS is selected as a selection field .
but wen i created the infopak for this , in data selection tab its not giving me the option of sparas selection dats coming blank .
plz let me know the reason why data selection tab is blank and how i can correct it.

go to extract structure and see whether the selection coulmn is checked for this field.
if not check then check and save it.
now go to rsa3 and see wheter the field is coming in selection.
if yes then replicate the datasourcee to the bw.
now create the infopackage u get the field in IP.

You can try to create infinite loop:
DATA: STOP.
WHILE STOP IS INITIAL. ENDWHILE.
Start InfoPackage and then go to SM50 and swich on debugging for your process. Then in debugger you can change value of STOP variable to skip the loop.

Can't find 0FYTLFP OLAP Variable in InfoPackage Data Selection tab on 3.5

On BW 3.5, when generating an InfoPackage with the datasource as Purchasing Data(80PUR_C01), under Data Selection tab, for the InfoObject 0FISCPER, I selected 7 (OLAP variables)for the Type column, then click the button next to it and under the column of Details for Type to bring up a window, but when expending the OLAP Variable field list, can't find the following value in the list which shows up on BW 3.1:
0FYTLFP     0FISCPER Cumulated to Last Fiscal Year/Period (SAP Exit)
How to make the above value show up in the OLAP Variable list?   I thought maybe the variable 0FYTLFP needs to be installed in Business Contents, but there is no variable object type in Business Content. It sounds like a SAP Exit, but how to make the SAP Exit value show up on BW 3.5?

Besides the three variable values in the list on BW 3.5, now I find a new one in the list, called "0E_ROLE     0SR_ROLE     Role (SAP Exit)", I have no idea why this one shows up now. Now all the four variables in the list are:
1. 0CML12LM     0CALMONTH     Last 12 Months Excluding the Current Month
2. 0CMONTH     0CALMONTH     Current Calendar Month
3. 0E_ROLE     0SR_ROLE     Role (SAP Exit)
4. 0S_RQMRC     0REQUID     Most Current Data
0FYTLFP is still not in the list!   We can't try to create BEx query since our BW 3.5 system is just installed and we have not got to the step to ceate a query. I try the 2nd way you suggested by pressing F6 on this variable with the typed in value 0FYTLFP, get the following msg "BEx variable 0FYTLFP could not be evaluated - No error message", that means it would not work on BEx query as well, right?
What could be the reason that we can't see 0FYTLFP variable in our new installed BW 3.5? Do you think our BASIS missed installing sth?

I would like to ask how to add an infoobject in the Data Selection Tab of the InfoPackage in 2004s. It says its optional, this definintion of selection criteria for the infopackage.
My apologies, I don't understand how this is done. Surely, I would like, however, to understand how to add an infoobject in this data selection Tab of the InfoPackage in 2004s.
Can any kind soul out there (gurus) please lend me your thoughts?
