Data sending receiving question...

I was wondering if even with push notifications turned off, email checking set to manuel, why my data use is still increasing little by little. Why is this? Every month I pass my limit of 100 mb data traffic in my account without even using it.
And is the wireless use of my iphone being counted as well in the data receiving info on my phone?

No, connections over WiFi are not counted.
Did you already reset your phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again? Do you have a lot of pages open when you quit Safari on your phone? Sometimes Safari reloads the pages you did not close. Try to close all pages and leave only a new page open to see if this makes a change. Are Location services switched off too?

I have a question about the send/receive when upload the data.
Technically, what should happen when click the send button? We plan to use a 3rd party service for DSE purpose, is the send button supposed to send the file to the 3rd party? How to configure it to make it could send the file correctly? How about the receive?

Hi Eric,
The 'Send' functionality is to send specific data and fields for classification which is done outside of SPM application. For this the generates the data in a flat file format and places the file in the 'Export folder' specified under 'Global settings'. The system does not send it directly to the external vendor. You will have to pass these files over using an FTP program if necessary. Also please refer to OSS note 1357322 - Performance/completion issues with inbound/export transfer which allows you to control what files are generated.
The receive functionality works similarly. Once the DSE (Data Standardization and Enrichment) vendor sends you the 'cleansed' files you should place them in the import directory provided under 'Global settings'. Using the data management functionality you can then upload them into the SPM application.

Socket data send-receive problem

I hv J2ME client application and vb.net socket server application communicating over sockets. Client connection is made successfully but cant send data to server. When I exit from client application then server application receives those data. (application works pretty fine on emulator but on real device gives above problem)
WTK Sample application gives same problem when I tried.
Any idea abt this problem ? gr8 ful if u have some working code.

yeah your idea works..
I hv used flush() method and now it works (Live on Nokia E62) nicely.
But to keep connection opened during whole application I dont close InputStream/OutputStream connection. I close it only at EXIT of application so that I get optimum performace in transactions.

Im new to this whole forum thing to be honest I couldnt believe there is a place to get free help lol!!
I am looking for a method to send text to a mobile phone j2me application but I dont want it to cost the user anything to open/receive the text. Personally I dont mind paying for sending the text to the user but I dont want the user to have to pay for it. I recently had a look at PAP (Push Access Protocol) and I am not sure if its what I want. I cannot send using an SMS message because the text is about 10000 characters or more. From what I was reading I think PAP has a size limit. But I am not sure though.
I am making a free hotel review system where people will receive details and reviews about the hotel or place for free. I think it would inconvenience and limit the users from using my application if they have to download the text and use their airtime. I dont mind paying for the sending of the message to the phone myself but I just dont want the user to have to pay for it.

I need to find out how much wifi data my apps are using. I have a very limited amount of wifi data, and I am exceeding my monthly allowance. Apparently, even apps I think are not open are sending/receiving data through the wifi and using up my allowance.

I have been told to work out which of my apps is using the data. Also, I think I have closed an app by double clicking the home button, then swiping the app up - is this the way to close it, or will it still be sending/receiving data?

Go into your Settings : General : and turn off background refresh for your apps. In Settings : Mail turn Fetch new data to OFF and Load Remote Images to OFF. This will mean that Mail will only check for messages when you actually use it, and all your advertising junk mail won't have all the images in it.
Turn off push notifications every chance you get.
Make sure you are actually quitting apps: to quit apps press the Home button twice and you should see a bunch of smaller screen images for every open app. To quit the app swipe from the screen image (not the icon) upward off the top of the iPad. You can swipe left and right to see more open apps, but there must be no left-right movement on the screen when you swipe upward to close the app.
Turn off your internet connection when you do not need it. The easiest way to do this is to swipe up from the bottom of you screen to get the control centre, and then touch the airplane to turn on airplane mode. You can repeat this sequence to turn it back on again when you need it. Most especially turn airplane mode on whenever you are sleeping your iPad for long periods. This will save battery life too. OR actually turn your iPad off - which means holding the power key down for several seconds until the red swipe bar appears, and then swipe to turn it off. If you go this route, note that it will take longer to turn on then it takes to wake from sleep.

If you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. If my understanding is correct, When you trigger the Idoc from R/3 it thrown the error in XI.
If you want to send the same Idoc then go to WE19 in R/3 system enter the same Idoc number and execute the scenaio. It send the Idoc to XI system, but the message number will change.

Send/receive data without a terminating character

I am trying to use the visa driver to send hex data over a serial port. I have tried to disable terminating characters but when I read from the port the trasnmission still terminates with a 0x0A character. How can I send/receive data without a terminating character???

You need to call viSetAttribute with VI_ATTR_ASRL_END_IN set to VI_ASRL_END_NONE. In LabVIEW, use a write property node with the Serial End In mode set to None (0).

You probably would not use those classes directly, but GZIPInput and GZIPOutput stream instead. you would wrap those streams around the socket Input and Output streams at either end of a socket connection.

There are no specific tables storing the mailbox related data.
To find information about Exchange in SCOM you need the Exchange management pack for the version of Exchange you are running, as well as monitoring the Exchange servers.
When that has been done you can find reports and performance views for Exchange.
I am unsure if you can find this specific information for Exchange in SCOM, i would look into the management pack. If you cannot find the information, i suggest you consult your Exchange administrator to get this information.

Texting longer text messages or any media (pictures/video/sound etc) being sent requires data to be active. However, it does not count against your data caps.
Since you have an iPhone, you must also be aware of the difference between iMessage and SMS Text messages. The iPhone, by default, will send an iMessage when sending another text message to anyone else with an iPhone, iTouch, or iPad. This does use your data if you are not connected to wifi. In Settings, you can turn iMessage off, and then all of your texts will go through Verizon.
Also understand- iMessage will use wifi when connected to wifi, but would need cellular data connection to work when not connected to wifi. Regular SMS text messages that are long or any media will always use the cellular data and not wifi, so will not send if cellular data is turned off, even if on wifi. However, this does not count against your cap.

I have BIS but can't surf, send/receive email, use apps

i have BB Curve 8520. My BIS was running smoothly (sending and receiving emails real time and surfing the net through BIS), until i noticed when i tried to reply to an email that came in, it won't send. i noticed that it's fluctuating. i was able to send the email after a few minutes... then a few minutes later, i received a replied email from my friend, and when i tried to send my reply, i wasn't able to. also, i can't surf using the browser with the "internet browser" as default. i tried using my wifi and then suddenly all my emails started coming in, all emails that were not able to go through hours ago. my big question was why do i need to turn on wifi just to receive emails. but since i had my BIS for 2 months now, i can send and receive emails and surf through BIS itself without turning on the wifi. also, i can't use any of my apps like facebook, twitter, yahoo messenger, etc. They used to work fine with BIS... but now, i have to turn on the wifi connection, so i could log in with them. aren't these supposed to be running through BIS only?
I have GPRS on top, not gprs. my carrier says i have active data plan/BIS. but under Services Status..it says Blackberry Internet Service: Connection: not connected...
so, i wiped out my BB and deleted all third party apps. when this was done, i received emails telling me "Your handheld has been registered with the wireless network" and even got "Activation Server" emails telling me that the emails that i have previously set up are now up and running. so i thought my BB is now ok.. i tried surfing, it was okay. after like about 5 minutes, it was down again. tried sending email but can't... i turned on the wifi and boom! the emails started coming in again.i have the Host Routing Tables and my Service Books in my BB. I have GPRS (not gprs) on top which means i have active BIS. i have registered my HRTs several times... and resending my service books... same thing...
the big mystery is when i turn on the wifi, the emails suddenly go through and i can send emails. i can open apps that used to only run on BIS. this is ok i guess, but i could never do any of these if i'm not connected to wifi.
my sister and i have the same BB... i removed my sim and inserted it to her BB and the BIS worked fine... i was able to surf and use apps.. but when i put my sim back on my phone, the problem still exists. i even used a different sim card that is also subscribed to BIS/data plan, and it still has the same problem... my guess is my carrier is right that my data plan is working ok and that my handheld itself has the problem...
i updated my OS, same problem.. wiped it out... used BBSAK, reinstalled OS... numerous battery pulls... same thing... i can receive the HRTs and service books, but after that can't do anything else like i used to... (send/receive emails, use apps like facebook, twitter, ym, etc., can't surf with internet browser - except when wifi is on everything else work fine even emails and apps)..
