Data Services - Address Cleanse

Hi,
What dir files do I need to have to be able to run the global address cleanse for the UK?
I have the following files in my reference_data folder
ga_region_gen.dir
ga_country.dir
I am guessing I need
ga_loc12_gen.dir,
ga_loc12_gen_nogit.dir,
ga_loc34_gen.dir
Is this correct? Currently when I run the address cleanse I am getting an INFO CODE of 1030 which is country ID not found. I have set the country to be United Kingdom as a constant in the options.

you either need to download one of the following additional Address Directories
- Address Directory - All-World
- Address Directory - United Kingdom
for Data Services XI 3.x from the SMP. To have access to them you need a Annual Subscription to the Directories.

Data Services Address Cleansing Errors

Hello all,
Having trouble getting a US Data Cleansing transform to work. It's throwing a few errors:
1. At least 1 RETAIN_POSTCODE_IF_VALID_FORMAT option must be present in this group
2. At least 1 DUAL_ADDRES option must be present in this group
3. At least 1 DISABLE_CERTIFICATION options must be present in this group
4. At least 1 REPORT_OPTION must be present in this group.
I'm new to BoBJ DS and I've tried playing around with different options in the transform but can't get these errors to go away, any thoughts as to what could be causing this? I'm sure it's probably something really simple.

This problem can usually be remedied by importing the base URAC.atl file:
1. In Designer, right-click in the Local Object Library
2. Select Repository > Import From File
3. Browse to LINK_DIR\Admin\Repo and select the transform to be re-imported (e.g. urac.atl)
4. Click Open
5. Select Yes and OK

Using Global Variables in Data Quality Address Cleanse Transforms

I am currently developing in Data Services 12.2.
I am trying to dynamically populate the List Owner information in the option tabs of the USA Regulatory Address Cleanse by using global variables. It populates the 3553 with the variable name instead of the value assigned.
According to the Technical Manual, it is possible to use global variables in Data Quality Address Cleanse transforms:
However, you can use substitution parameters in all places where global variables are supported, for example:
Query transform WHERE clauses
Mappings
SQL transform SQL statement identifiers
Flat-file options
User-defined transforms
Address cleanse transform options
Matching thresholds
Does anyone know if it is possible to use global variables in the option tab of the Address Cleanse; if so, can you describe how it is done?

Secondary Unit Designations from Data Services' Global Address Cleanse

Using Data Services' Global Address Cleanse transform and want to have multiple Secondary Unit Designations retained, parsed, standardized and returned in output data.
ie: 1 Dexter Ave Floor 10 Suite 5
Only finding "Suite 5" store in the output SECONDARY_ADDRESS field.
The 1st unit of the 2 units, "Floor 10" is being lost consistenly using the Global Address Cleanse transform (not the US Regulatory Address Cleanse transform). I want to standardize and output secondary and tertiary unit designations and numbers like Building 2 Floor 10 Suite 5 and other multi-level unit desinations such as those listed by the USPS at http://pe.usps.com/text/pub28/pub28apc_003.htm .
So is any Complex_Name and Complex_Type address line info like "Rockafellow Center", "Eastdale Mall", "Manhattan Mall", "Building 2", etc.
Same behavior for US and Canada. Multiple units or dwellings are very common on input addresses and should be retained as per USPS Cass Certification. How can this be accomplished using Data Services' Global Address Cleanse transform?

How to cleanse the Arabic-General and Address data using Data Services 3.1

I m working in UAE project(Sap Customer & Vendor master) data migration. Main address and customer tables are builded in english and arabic equally.
I can able to read the arabic data, but there is no clue, how to cleanse or modify those datas?
Is it possbile to handle the arabic data in business objects-data services XI 3.1?
Is it possible to use the EMEA address directories to cleanse or standandize the arabic data?
Please help me out.

Data Quality - PO Box in USA Regulatory Address Cleanse

I am working with the USA Regulatory address cleanse and noticed when there is an {PO Box} format in my input, the transform is assigning the {PO Box} as my Primary Address Output. Is there a way for me to assign the to the Primary Address output and the {PO Box} as the Secondary Address output? Or is this how the Address Cleanse parses the data?
i.e.
Input Fields
Multiline1                                          Multiline2
4760 Address Dr                            PO BOX 78
Output Fields (I get)
Primary Address                            Secondary Address
PO BOX 78
Output Fields (I want)
Primary Address                            Secondary Address

Due to Apartment numbers being in either my Multiline1 or Multiline2, I can not use those use the Multiline output columns. Unless there are setting I need to change in order for me to get both scenarios working.

You specifically mentioned the settings on the client. But is that path the right path on the machine running your job server?
My next question is have you downloaded the RDI directories from the USPS? You must purchase these directories directly from the USPS. You should have these two files:
rts.hs11 and rts.hs9

Missing Data Cleanse package option in Data services Repository Manager

Hello, I am trying to create a repository for data cleansing package repository in database using Repository Manager, but the drop down list box is not giving an option "Data Cleansing" to create repository. Only three values are available (Local,CEntral, and Profile).
Using Data Services 3.0 Version. Any help or any workarounds creating a repository with our Repository Manager.

We searched log files and found no errors.
We then decided to attempt re-creating the local repository. We checked the Show Details box.
The local repository was reported has having been successfully created. This was the result we had before.
We then checked for canned functions and the list matched to those of our Oracle and SQL Server local repositories.
So, best guess is that something went wrong on the initial local repository creation that was either not reported or reported, but we missed.

Data Quality - USA Address Cleanse

I receive the following error when executing the USA Address Cleanse.
"The job to calculate usage dependencies cannot be executed because the job contains obsolete connection information."
I read in other blogs, my repository might be corrupt. I recreated the repository using Repo Manager and added it back to the job server and still received the above error. I am not doing anything special just Source>Address Cleanse>Target.
Has anyone seen this issue before?

are you seeing this error when you are executing the job ?
or while saving the Dataflow ?
calculate usage dependency job will use internal object, looks like you have changed the password of repository database and the connection details stored in internal object is not updated
to update the password of internal object, go to managment console and register the repository if its already registered, modify the repositroy connection details and click on Apply this will update the password of internal object, you don't have to recreate your repo if it was successfully created earlier

Using Odata services can we handle huge data (i.e create schema/load into Hana) On-the-fly ?
In my scenario,
I get a folder of different complex XML files which are to be loaded into Hana database.
Then I gotta transform & cleanse the data.
Can I use oData services to transform and cleanse the data ?
If so, how can I create oData services dynamically ?

My client is upgrading from SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0
We are planning to use SAP Data Services(Data Integrator) in the upgrade plan from SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0 for Data Migration.
we have no idea whether we can use this SAP Data Services(Data Integrator) in SAP upgrade data migration.
The bottom line is we have to make use this Data Services (Data Integrator) product in our upgrade plan for Data Migration.
Please tell us if anybody already used it such kind of scenario in a data migration project with Data Services(Data Integrator).
If we can use Data Service(Data Integrator) what are the pros and cons in using this Data Services(Data Integrator).

My opinion is you would want to utilize SAP tools to port the data - our SAP BASIS administrator is out this week but we can provide exact tool names when he returns. ELM (External List Management), IDOC are some of the tools.
You could use DS/DI to export, cleanse, deduplicate the records prior to importing with SAP tools if that is your end goal.
We also offer a data quality tool that extends DS/DI to cleanse/deduplicate name/address records as they are entered into the system. It also comes with batch tools to cleanse/dedup the entire systems name/address information. See Data Quality Management for SAP for further details.

Would a BW functional developer be able to support data services?

Our company cannot justify having a full time data services functional developer to support our existing master data address cleanse / address validation process in data services. There is light work for customizing data services jobs and occasional support work for address validation issues. We have a full staff of SAP developers in most areas and are looking to train an existing employee to do two roles. Not being well versed in what is involved with data services support, can you help with what skill set would be a good complement to also learn data services? Would it be a BW functional developer? ABAP developer? Basis? Master Data functional developer?

In general, the most effective Data Services developers have a 'proper' development background and understand set theory, relational databases, and SQL.
You'll also need to find someone with an understanding of data quality theory.

Caution:
The USA Regulatory Address Cleanse Transform does not accept Unicode
data. If an input record has characters outside the Latin1 code page
(character value is greater than 255), the USA Regulatory Address Cleanse
transform will not process that data. Instead, the input record is sent to the
corresponding standardized output field without any processing. No other
output fields (component, for example) will be populated for that record. If
your Unicode database has valid U.S. addresses from the Latin1 character
set, this transform processes as usual.

Global Address Cleansing with suggestion

Iu2019m using Global Address Cleansing with suggestion list enabled. The problem Iu2019m having is for that Canadian addresses are not populating the address related fields (i.e. primary name, number, etcu2026) until the selection process is complete. This differs from the US engines that populate the fields with each reply. Is there a way to replicate how the US engine handles suggestion replies within the Global Address Cleansing transform?
We are using Data Services v 3.2 (12.2.1.2)

Blueprints Data Services

Hi,
I'm trying to use Blueprints for Data Services.
I used document "Blue Prints Data Services Content Objects.pdf", there are all Instructions for downloading and installing.
So I have done these steps:
(1) Install the Global Parsing Options
(2) Download "Data Quality Blueprints - All"
(3) Extract ZIP-File to Tutorial-Folder
(4) Import ATL - File
(5) Data Store - Configuration-Change to MySQL-Repository
(6) Substitution parameter configuration
(7) Address - Server is running
Started Job "Job_DqBatchGermany_AddressCleanse".
Job is completed successfully, but there are blanks in Output - Table - Columns.
For every record Status_Code = "S0000" and Info_Code = "1030".
Please provide me a way to troubleshoot this problem.

The Address Cleanse Transform requires a correct CountryID, otherwise it can't start. So either it is getting none at all, it is NULL or something. Or it is using the wrong format, the transform expects the ISO codes. If you do not have the ISO codes, use the CountryID Transform upfront.
