Data Services setting - 'Off When Roaming'

Does anyone know if it is possible to lock the 'Data Services' setting under 'Mobile Network Options' to 'Off When Roaming' WITHOUT the use of a BES?

I think he wants to BES lock it so NO-ONE can change it, at least without permision from their BES Admin, Managing director otr fomr the Carrier.
Even with a BES, there is no setting to lock that permenantly.
(Unless one of you good BB people can find it in the OTY Policy ref document for 4.x or 5.0 BES - I cant fin anything to lock it!)

Data Services Designer - Error when pulling large source tables

Hi all,
I have been trying yo load data from an SAP table - BSIS into MS SQL server database using BO Data Services Designer XI 3.2. It is a simple data flow with one souce table (BSIS).
When we execute the job, it says what is mentioned below:
*"Process to execute Dataflow is started"*
*"Cache statistics determined that DataFlow uses <0> caches with a total use of <0> bytes. This is less than the virtual memory <1609564160> bytes available for caches. Statistics is switching the cache type to IN MEMORY."*
*"Dataflow using IN MEMORY cache."
It stays there for a while and says "Dataflow terminated due to error"
In the error window, it says DF received a bad system message.
Does not specify the error... It asks to contact the customer support with error logs, ATL files and DDL scripts.
Can anyone help me out???

I blieve the system will read from table dt_iobj_dest.
The problem is that 0FISCPER, 0FISCYEAR and 0FISCVARNT are not registered.
You can register the infoobject 0FISCYEAR and 0FISCVARNT
retroactively:
1) se24, CL_UG_BW_FIELD_MAPPING
2) F8 -> test environment
3) GET_INSTANCE, do not use IT_FIELD_RESTRICT
4) IF_UG_BW_MAPPING_SERVICES
5) REGISTER_INFO_OBJECT
6) specify I_RFCDEST
            I_INFOOBJECT
   attention: I_RFCDEST is case-sensitive

Data Services IDOC Errors when working with a newl Basic Type

Hello,
Just wondering if anyone else has encountered an issue similar to the one I am dealing with. We are trying to create business partners in SAP CRM from Data Services via IDOC. We are not using the standard IDOC, but instead we are using a new IDOC type.
This IDOC type is generated by SAP CRM automatically through a transaction BDFG. This transaction creates a new basic type for an standard IDOC with the additional fields that we have added through the easy enhancement workbench (EEWB).
The issue that we are having is that when we import the IDOC type into data services and we look at the schema many fields and sub-structures of the IDOC are duplicated. This means that we receive hundreds of errors when we try to validate our data flow. I can delete the duplicated sub structures in my query transformation but then the query transformation and the output schema and the idoc input schema are no longer identical.
I have searched all over oss and different web forums for a solution but no one else it seems has even encountered this error. If anyone else has had a similar issue and can offer help it would be greatly appreciated.

Issue is resolved.
After importing the meta data for the IDOC into data services I then proceeded to edit out all of the duplicate structures and fields from the IDOC.
After making the IDOC structure in data services identical to the structure of the IDOC in SAP I then proceeded to test this IDOC and it executed successfully.

Packet data wont turn off when connecting to wifi

Hi
my packet data doesn't turn off when i connect to WiFi. The H+ keeps showing on the top of the screen even when on WiFi. Now i am not sure if the phone uses packet data or WiFi for surfing. Each time i connect to WiFi i have to manually turn off packet data from settings.. Can someone tell me what this is all about?

Advance released against PO set off when bill doing MIRO

there was a message about creaating held PR from MRP run but that conflicted with using release strategy wo we found another badi ME_COMMTMNT_REQ_RE_C ~CHECK_RELEV that we used to post a zero val FM doc and this resolved the issue.

Wifi when data service is off

Hi, next week Im travelling abroad, and I want to turn the data plan off, so my carrier doesent take all my assets and belongings away (we have the most expensive cell phone costs in the world in argentina). Nevertheless, i want to keep using my mail, bbm, twitter, and stuff through wi fi.
So what I did is turn off my data conection and turn on my wi fi in my house (the same thing I want to do abroad) and nothing worked.
I understand that what I wanna do is possible. In fact a bunch of people I know did it.
What shall I do?

HT5467 How to change the location service set up when the icon is not inactive?

I can not setting up the location services and change individual location service for each application since the icon are all in the dead icon and I cannot change anything. Is there anyway to make those icons in active?

Here is what I was referring to - when in Control Center, I have the database locations. (sources, targets, OWF etc). Under a database location I selected the connector/location name under Connectors. When I select Deploy Action to Drop the connector/location name will remain. However, if you were to check in the database or the Repository Browser (Locations Report) you will see that the db link is gone. At this point you can safely modify the Locations info in the Connection Explorer (in Design Center). On the other hand, if you want the location to be deleted all together then now you can delete it in the Connection Explorer panel. If you did the prior drop step then at this point all db link info should be gone from the database.

Data Services Designer - Problem when inserting rows in a database

I created a simple job that queries an Oracle database and writes the data returned from the query in a database as mysql.
The problem is that only one row is being written in the database, being that the return of my query has more than one row.

What product ad what version you are running and what environment you are in?

When turning off data services, does 26 and 3g matter? (battery-wise)

Im using a bold 9900 and i always turn off data services to save battery. i also switch to 2g even when data services is off. But does it matter? if i turn off data services and ALSO switch to 2g? or i dont need to switch to 2g when data services is off already?

Wi-Fi not working if Data Services (Mobile Network) is OFF

Today I had some issues with the Wi-Fi connection..
The problem is that under Manage Conections > MOBILE NETWORK Settings there is an option that says: "Data Services"... As it is under MOBILE NETWORK settings which is related to my network carrier, and I don't have any Data Plan I guessed that i could turn that to OFF...
So then a few minutes later I tried to use What's App, and there was no connection... so I tried using the Browser also without lucky.
Then after looking for something that could solve my problem without finding something usefull I decided to work on it by myself, so I rebooted the BB, my Home Router, cheking for Connection Diagnose under Wi-Fi options, but nothing seemed to work until I decided to turn ON the Data Services setting I was talking about before... and voilá it started working...
I'm not sure if this is an actual problem or something else.. but I think that an option under Mobile Network should not being interfering with the Wi-Fi connection, just makes no logic at all...

Being under "Mobile Network" you would think it wouldn't affect it but it does. In order to use wifi you have to have Data Services turned on. It's always been this way...

Flash Builder 4, Data Services, PHP issue

I have installed a fresh Galileo + Fb4 plugin + WST for eclipse on my dev server/workstation.
I have installed a standalone Fb4 on my laptop.
When I use the shwanky new Data services feature and create a PHP service... I can create the service fine... but there are no methods showing up for the data service/class. The class shows up in the Data/Services list -- and when I right-click -> Refresh (other options are greyed out) I get the following alert Error message:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: protocol = http host = null
I click OK and procede in my ignorance to scour the internet for a solution...
I feel like a teenager who was given a brand new Corvette (Fb4)... only.... the key doesn't seem to fit the ignition. I CANT WAIT to drive it!
On a side note.... my laptop works fine? Go figure. I can right click and get all the goodies (Configure Return Type, etc.) that I'm suppose to get on that installation...
I would like to get this working on my dev workstation. Is it something to do with Fb4 as a plugin on top of Zend PDT?
Does anyone know where to look (maybe a config file or setting) that sets the value for this:

Coldfusion Data/Services INT bug?

I notice that the String data type was updated in the FB Data/Service tab

I am not sure if there is a type called "int" in ColdFusion. However you can try setting it as "numeric", which should work.

Can Data Services take .gz (zipped) file

Hello, I am trying to figure to how to setup a Data Services job to process an .xml file that is stored in a .gz (zipped) file. Can Data Services process .gz files? I don't think it can. I need to figure out how to unzip it in the job and process the file..

From reading this thread, i'm guessing you re fairly new to unix ?
Before getting too involved in the data services part of this, make sure you aren't getting problems because of other issues.
first, write your script to call gzip taking a filename as a parameter.
I suggest you create a standard directory you keep all the scripts you will call from Data Services in.
When you are login in to the account Data services runs under
type:
cd ~
(This should change to your home directory if your not already there) then press return.
next type:
pwd
then press return
This should display the home directory for data services. Lets assume it is '/home/dataservices'
Next create a directory for your script:
mkdir /home/dataservices/scripts
change into that directory:
cd /home/dataservices/scripts
write your script:
vi gunzip.ksh
(Replace vi with the editor or your choice)
Your script should at its most basic look something like this:
#!/bin/ksh
gzip - d $1
NB: If you don't understand shell scripting, google is your friend. A link I found quickly:

next set the script as executable:
chmod u+x gunzip.ksh
finally verify it works from the command line:
/home/dataservices/scripts/gunzip.ksh myfile.gz
If it uncompresses the file, you should be able to run this from data services with no trouble.
If you don't understand these unix commands, you really need to forget about data services for a while and go and learn unix There is plenty of good stuff online and millions of books for beginners like dummies guides, etc.

Data Services Administration Tricks

We have some problems when we need to restart a Data Service domain.
When we are using Physical Source Properties and the server restarts, these properties are cleaned up. Is there any way to set these properties when the domain is starting?

The Physcial Source Properties should not be lost when the domain is restarted. Please open a case with customer support and provide details.

What functions work and don't work when roaming?

I was out of town on the weekend, and I had to use roaming. Now, I was finding that sometimes my Blackberry Internet Service was available and sometimes it wasn't. What was most puzzling was that sometime the web-browser would work without BIS available, and sometimes it wouldn't. It seemed to do both depending on time of day from the same location. I have a little weather applet in my Blackberry Bold, and again it was sometimes working, and sometimes it wasn't.
It was all pretty puzzling, what's the real answer here? Do Internet-based apps work or don't they when there's regular cellular data services available, but not BIS?

Your provider will best be able to answer any questions on what services are available when roaming. Some internet based applications may require a BlackBerry Internet Service connection to function and some may be able to use your carrier's browser or a Wi-Fi connection. You may want to check with each vendor for the connection requirements of their application.
