Data source properties for the rulefiles.

Could some one explain what is the use of field edits like move/split/join/create of data source properties for the rulefiles.

move/split/join/create are very useful loading data without going back to source file and changing them. For example
you have an entity dimension with member names like
east10569
east10658
if you want to add a prefix for these members to make them unique, you can use those field edits.
the other uses which I saw is concatination to create unique names etc.

Still we haven't get the field level information ,before they send us we should first give them the corresponding data sources for the COPA tables which they have given .
I have searched in help.sap.com but I didn't find any information on this .

HANA is a data source (which could contain non-SAP data)

Actaully i am new to fico/bw,and i have to create a report based on the actual and budget value and difference in the variance.
in R/3 side the table they are using is COSP,so please let me know what is the data source name and the cube or ods name in BW side.wht are the fields in which i can get the BUDGET value in the report.
here we are using all the business content extractors and BI content cubes and odss.

Missing Connection Types in Report Data Source Properties

I am running three installations of SharePoint 2013 with SQL 2012 for Business Intelligence, with Kerberos working.
I have been having intermittent issues with SQL Reporting Services in a multi-server configuration, but finally had it working in all three environments. We discovered many of our issues were caused by master page customizations which we have now disabled
temporarily while we work on function issues.
However, we started having a new problem with Reporting Services on just ONE of the environments, and we are not sure what happened. Most everything appears to still be working, except Reporting Services. I have verified that features are enabled
in both the farm and the site collection, as well as insured managed content types are being allowed on the target document libraries. I also verified the Reporting Service properties and database connections. However, I have found two clear symptoms
which I can find no other information regarding (in logs or in online searches):
1) If we try to create a new "Report Data Source" using the SharePoint UI, it will open a new Data Source Properties window, but in the "Data Source Type" field, there are no values available for me to select my connection type (e.g.,
Microsoft SQL Server).
2) In Central Administration, while administering the Reporting Services Service Application, I can manage a majority of the settings, including System Settings, Manage Jobs, Key Management, etc. However, if I click on the link for "E-mail Settings,"
I get the dreaded "Sorry Something went wrong screen," with an error saying that "Object reference is not set to an instance of an object."
So I am hoping someone has an idea of where I can look for additional information on this issue, or even better, knows what I am missing to get Reporting Services functional again in this environment!

I assume you are installing Reporting Services SharePoint mode for SharePoint 2013, you need to:
1. Install "Reporting Services – SharePoint" and "Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint Products" on the SharePoint server that the SSRS service will run on. All other SP servers only need the "Reporting Services
add-in for SharePoint Products."
2. Run the Insall-SPRSService and Install-SPRSServiceProxy on Central Admin and SSRS server.
3. Start SSRS Service only on desired SSRS servers.

Failed to acquire DAS with data sources that match the specified OCE

Please help, Thank you all.
We are migrating Oracle databases from Windows to Linux servers. Currently, I have no problem to use my desktop Hyperion Intelligence Designer 8.5 with new oce file to connect to Linux. However, I published the same oce file to Hyperion Performance Suite 8.5 then I got “Sever Error [2018]: Failed to acquire Data Access Service with data sources that match the specified OCE”.
I launched Service Configurator, in the “Local Service Configurator - DAS1_host”, the “Database JDBC URL is point to Linux server. Also, I added ODBC connection to Oracle database on Linux in the “Properties of Data Access Service: DAS1_host’s Data Source”. Database of JDBC URL in BI1_host, AZ1_host, PUB1_host, SM1_host, LS1_host, UT1_host, BPS1_host, AN1_host are also point to Linux server.
The “Remote Service Configurator” has ES1_host’s” Storage” with JDBC URL point to Linux server. The same for RM1_host’s and NS1_host’s “Storage” with JDBC URL point to Linux server.
Is there some missing configuration on the server? Thank you in advance.

Solution
1) In the .profile file, you will find the definition of the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable. However, the path to 64 bit libraries is probably appended before the path to the 32 bit libraries(%ORACLE_HOME%/lib32). Therefore, please reverse the order in the definition so that the 32 bit libraries get loaded before the 64 bit libraries.
Then, restart all services.
2) Oracle 9.2 was the first Oracle release which defaults to using the 64 bit libraries in the 'lib' directory and the 32-bit libraries that we need are in the 'lib32' directory.
Therefore, please have the%ORACLE_HOME%/lib32 placed in front of the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable definition.Then, restart all services.
3) Please check that users have read and write access to the files located in the %ORACLE_HOME%/lib32 folder.
4) Check the permissions of the libclntsh.a file(located in the %ORACLE_HOME%/lib32 folder) are set to rwxr-xr-x
5) Recreate the OCE connection in DAS and restart DAS in CMC.
6) Restart all the BIPlus Services and process the query.

How to add a data-source.xml to the project to config DB connections and to be SCM'ed

I'd like to explicitly manage a data-sources.xml for my JSP + BC4J project.
Any helps on getting the released Jdev to add a data-source.xml that would then
be what the .ear deploys to OC4J?

Is this one of those gaps like the orion-application.xml file, that has no

I tried to create new Datasource using OEM Console but it throws error as following :
Error saving Data Source Properties. - Base Exception: The Entity et="system";ei="0",et="application";ei="138",et="data-sources";ei="146":child:data-sourcechild key:location:jdbc/OracleCoreDS; class:com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource; already exists in the repository. Data source value for data source reportData was null

hi i'm using struts 2 and jasperreports my problem is
it generate a pdf file with labels but no data in it..
and when i try to look at the logs of my sun application server
it says Data source value for datasource reportData was null.
reportData is an ArrayList of Personnel object.

Hi,
Looking at the code, it seems you are compiling a JRXML and that is all.
Instead, you should fill it with data and then export the result to PDF.
No wonder you don't see any result.
You need to learn more about how JasperReports work. For a start, I can tell you that you could compile JRXML files as part of the application build process using an Ant task, and not dynamically, like you did. But no matter how you compile the report template, you actually need to fill it with data, using the JasperFillManager and then export it to PDF using the JasperExportManager.
You can see all this in our samples in the /demo/samples folder that is part of our project distribution package. There is even a sample Web application in the /demo/samples/webapp folder.

I think this could work like data source creation for sales order creation, but I don't know waht to enter in transaction CTBW. Anyone here has done this previously? Dear Gunasekhar,
There are no separate datasource for 0sold to, 0ship to and 0bill to parties.
They are referrenced to 0CUSTOMER in BW. and the datasources for 0customer are 0CUSTOMER_ATTR and 0CUSTOMER_TEXT.

Depends on which datasource you are dealing with.
Normally you can just delete the delta queue from transaction RSA7 in the source system. If you are dealing with logistic datasources it might be different.

When you are prompted for the infoobject in master data read you shoud give the main characteristic name, not the attribute name(attribute which is there in the data target). It will map the attribute automatically.
