Hi,
When you activate the data source on the r/3 side, you end up capturing it in a transport request.
However on the BW side you go on and replicate the activated data source. On most times you are not prompted to enter the transport request when you replicate the data source. However if prompted, capture the data source where you capture the transfer rules. You will not find anything like data source replica under that request, but you will find data source and your data source will be under it.

Goto Transaction RSDS and delete the replicated BI7.0 datasource and choose BW3.x datasource while replicating.
Restoring 3.x DataSources
1. In the maintenance screen of the DataSource (transaction RSDS) in the original system (development system), choose DataSource ® Restore 3.x DataSource.
2. Enter a transport request.
3.If required, delete the dependent transformation (R3TR TRFN) and data transfer process (R3TR DTPA) objects.
4.Transport the restored 3.x DataSource (R3TR ISFS), along with its dependent objects, into the target system.

Goto RSA1, select data dsources. Then right click on particular DS and select delete.

BW 7.0 data source activation - transport?

Hi Folks,
I am a bit confused with BW 7.0 data source. I replicated from my APO system and the data source is created in BW as 7.0 -> I choose background activation.
When I want to create an infopackage for the infosource I tells me that data source is not yet active.
So I went in and activated -> asked for a transport.
Question: do I have to transport the data source / after it is replicated on the next system (TEST)?
Or should the data source be normally active right after the replication?

Migration 3.x data source to BI 7 run into problem - Export Datasource

Dear Expert,
I have got a problem with the data source replicated from BW 3.5 into BI 7.
The details are as below:
- I replicated the BI 7 for a data source 8ZRAC_DSO from BW 3.5
- after replication, the version of data source remain as Modified
- I am not able to activate
- In order to activate it, I try to perform the migration with the option of 'with export'
- I got stuck with the error message as below:
'Export DataSource 8ZRA_DSO (BIPCLNT100) in myslef system object type RSDS not possible'
Do you have any suggestion to resolve this problem?
Is it a right way to get the data source activated?

With 7.0 export datasources are obsolete. And the system doesnt allow you to do the migration. Instead you would need to create a transformation between the Original DS/Infosource to the Target.
Example -
Updating data from ODS to Cube
Right click on Data store object-> create transformation ->give the target cube name->give the load option either full or delta-> activate the transformation and load data from ods to cube by clicking execute in third tab
DTP required between DSO and Infocube to handle DELTAS.

BI7 Data source problem.

Hi Friends,
We are using standard datasouce for Master data (0CUST_SALES_ATTR) . W activated this data source, replicated in BW and migrated to BI 7.0 .It is working fine in development. . Before trasnporting to Quality we replicated the data source In Quality system..
When we transport to quality system, tha Data Source is Active. However, when we schedule from info package, we are getting the error Data Source must be replicated" Based on this error message, we replicated the data source again and still we are getting same error.
We are thinking that it is behaving like BW 3.5 object instead BI7 after transport.
Could you please share your thoughts about this Issue.

Hi,
Before Transporting the data source, in case you are using only BI 7.0 data sources please make the setting in
RSA1 -- Tools -- Conversion of Logical System names.
Here in the mapping for the source system click the check box for 7.0.
Alternatively you can use T code RSDS to migrate the Data source to BI 7.0 in qulaity system.

Error while Replicating the Data Source in Quality System....

Dear Expert,
I have created a generic data source in R/3 Dev system and I replicated the data source to BW DEV system. Everything is fine in DEV system.
I have transported the Data Source to R/3 Quality System. And transported the related objects in BW DEV system to BW QUALITY system.
Now I am getting the error as follows :
BW QUA System --> RSA1 --> Source System --> Data source Overview --> Sales & Distribution --> _REPLICATE_
*DATASOURCE*.( clicked )
Its moving to another screen (R/3 QUALITY) , but it is coming as a LOGIN screen. Its askong for the USER name and Password. And when I click on BACK button , its givin following pop-up
RFC connection to source system LOGSYS is damaged ==> no Metadata upload
What could be the issue ?? Please suggest.

for LO,LIS,generic,FI data sources, delta records come from delta queue.
if u run the INIT in BW whether it may be success or not delta queue will be maintained in RSA7. and u can check the records in RSA7 or smq2.
when the init request goes to R/3 then it will maintains delta queue in RSA7.

Replicated BI Data Sources found as 3.x dataSources

I have replicated Source system and i have selected RSDS instead of 3.x data sources, now when iam searching T-code for source system i have no BI DATA Sources i have all Data sources in 3.x
and i also dont have data sources in RSDS of Business content i found all data sources in 3.x

Usually for standard business contents the Datasources will be defined as 3.x datasources only. To check this you can go to the corresponding Data-target and Select Grouping as 'In Data Flow before' . If you need to establish a BI 7 modeling dataflow. You need to migrate the datasources after replicating them in BW.

Data source not getting replicated

hi all,
i have created a generic datasourc and when i tried to replicate the datasource in BI, its not getting replicated at all.\
the datasource is active in rsa5.
I tried to replicate the application component but still the particulate datasource is not getting replicated.
I tried to store the data source in ECC in separate application component and try to replicate in Bi.,But still cannot replicate.
how to replicate the datasource?

Hi,
Please check if you r not replicating the daat source first time:
1. Delete teh PSA records if any.
2. Check if your replication trial create lock entry in daat base tables.
3. After deletion of whole datasource along with teh data , try replicating teh datasource again.
IF new datasource:
Go to rsa6 activate teh data source , check in RSa3 the extraction is proper.
log off from all teh sessions and of both BW and R/3 system.
Log in to BW and select teh r/3 system and replicate full data source.
Also check teh daat source RFC is activated and restored as well.

Replicating data source

I tried to replicate data sources in BW for the R/3 source system. But, still no data sources shows up under the source system.
RFC detaination works on both BW and R/3 system.
What way should I troubleshoot this issue?

If it is a new datasource you dont find it in BW. If you are replicating your new datasource for the first time, then go to the corresponding application area in BW under the corresponding source system and replicate the datasources on the application area.

1. Goto RSA5.
2. Select your datasource--> Click on ' Activate Datasource'.
3. Goto RSA6.
you can find the data sources which are activated.
or you can activate the datasource by useing 'RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL'
Replicate the Datasources in BI side by select the Source system.
Goto RSA1>Select Source System> Right click--> Replicate Datasoruces.
Then you can find the Datasources.

I have an attribute data source and when I have replicated the data source again from the source system, the type has changed from attribute to hierarchy.
Can you please tell me how can this happen and what needs to be done to revert it back to attribute data source.

Error in replicating FI data source(0FI_AP_1) in BI system

Hi all
actually i am getting an error while replicating the FI data source(0FI_AP_1) in BI system. Error is "0FI_AP_1 Could Not be Replicated Do you want to delete this DataSource (with Mappings, Transfer Rules, InfoPackages)? ". This is the every first time i am doing the FI report, SO i think i have missed some steps of activating or some thing else. Plz advise.

Hi Srinivas thanks for the reply....as you told i have activated the DS 0FI_AP_6 in R3 and then when i went to replicate the same DS in BI it is showing the same message as written above ..... But still i can see the FI data source in my BI system but cant replicate any of them. so plz advise
