Data synchronization between two offices

Hi everyone,
After building a database for our growing company, we have a problem with our data and its synchronization. Our company has a rather small, but growing, book warehouse and sells books online. We have been able to deal with orders and stock because sales were not that large.
But today we sell more and more books and the addition of a database means we need to synchronize our data from the warehouse database to the main office one, mainly to be able to know what kind of stock we have. I think we will have to go with a batch syncing scheduled twice a day for now. We have been dealing with Talend open studio so far and enjoy the product.
Do you think Talend will be able to stand that type of operation? What kind of software could be used in this case?
Thanks all!

Hi there,
I don't know Talend and thus cannot say anything about the product.
However, based on your requirement description I'd say you better go for a system with one single database.
Only that way you can check your current stock when you need it.
Moreover a single database solution is far less complex and reduces a ton of problems you will always face with distributed databases.
just my two cents...

  • How to ...synchronization between two databases

    Hi,
I want to set up automatic synchronization between two databases. For example, database DB1 and DB2 have table t1 and t2 with the same columns. If someone updates a record in table t1, I want automatically update the record in t2 or vice-versa.
How can I make an automatic system like that?

    1) What is the business goal you're trying to satisfy? Failover, reporting, replication, geographic co-location, etc. each have their own set of technologies. Explaining what you're trying to accomplish from a business perspective will help us identify which technology (or technologies) to focus on.
    2) Are you synchronizing a single table? Or multiple tables? Or all the tables in a schema? Or all the tables in a database?
    3) Is there a stable network connection between the boxes?
    4) What version of Oracle do you have (10.2, 10.1, 9.2, 9.0.1, etc)? What edition (standard, express, enterprise, etc)?
    5) How quickly after a change has been made on DB1 does the change need to reflect on DB2?
    6) Am I correct in understanding that you want to be able to change the same row of data on either DB1 or DB2? So the replication needs to go in both directions?

  • Error 33172 occurred at Read & Write data transfer between two or more PF2010 controller

Hi,i need to do data transfer between two or more FP2010 controller.e.g. FP2010(A) & FP2010(B).
FP2010(A) need to transfer the measurement (from its I/O module) to FP2010(B) to do the data analysis. These data transfer should be synchronous btw two controller to prevent data lost.
From the vi used in the attachment,i encountered some problems at:
    (1) Error 33172 occurred while publishing the data. Can i create and publish data under different item name?
    (2) How to synchronies the read & write btw contorller?
All controller are communicating with each other directly without the need of a host computer to link them together
Is there any other method to do fast data transfer betwe
    en controller?

    Hi YongNei,
You were succesful in omiting enough information to make it very difficult to answer!
    Please post your example.
Please tell us what version of LV-RT you are using.
Please define what you concider "fast data transfer".
Have you concidered mapping the FP tags of FP2010(A) to FP2010(B) and vise versa?
WHat exactly has to be syncronized?
If you have something that is close to working, share that.
Well, that as far as I can go with the info you have provided. Depending on the details, what you are asking could be anything from trivial to impossible with the currently available technology. I just can't say.
It would probably be a good idea to start over with a fresh question (sorry) because not many people are going to know what a a "
PF2010" is and I can not guarentee that I will be able to get back to you personally until next week-end.

  • Data mismatch between two clients

    Hi,
I have a query on data mismatch between two clients.
For eg assume a functional consultant would have configured intially some 5 custom document types and captured that in a transport request (TR1234) and promoted from one system/client (in my case QG1/821) to another system/client (say QG4/821). Again he would have configured another 3 custom document types and put in a transport request (TR4567) and promoted it. The transport request TR4567 some how did not reach QG4/821. Hence it shows only 5 records in T003 table (document types table) in QG4/821 and 8 records in QG1/821. How do we identify which is the correct transport (in this case TR4567), so that this transport can be promoted to QG4/821, so that both QG1/821 and QG4/821 are in sync.
Similary such a discrepancy exists for custom tables also. I am not able to catch hold of any basis people for inputs on this. Hence pls advise.

development objects can be compared using, Compare the active versions in both the system. (Use remote comparision)
But this you have to maually check.

So basically what you want to do is sync up two databases several times a day. You could use Talend Open Studio: it can efficiently do what you are asking, so stay with this tool.
You might want to go check Talend 's page on data synchronization: http://www.talend.com/solutions-data-integration/data-synchronization.php
Just the fact you already know the software and use it, you'll save a lot of time (and money) on this. it is much easier for you than taking a new one.

  • Data synchronization between databases

    Hi,
This week one of my team accidentally damaged multiple records in one of the production databases, I have a backup of the database prior to what happened.    I need to copy the information in a few tables from the beginning of records (about 10 years ago), to the end of August 2014.   The newer records should remain as they are.
I was thinking that the best route is to use some sort of tool to synchronize data between databases.
Do you guys have a recommendation for this sort of work?
The databases (production and backup) are ASA 9.
    Best regards,
    Edgard

    Hello Edgard,
If you have any PowerBuilder in-house the Data Pipeline object might help. Otherwise I'd have a look at Squirrel SQL. I know that can communicate between two databases simultaneously but confess I have never tried it.

  • Master data synchronization between SAP systems

    Dear all,
I have 2 SAP systems and I'm required to synchronize some kinds of HR master data between these 2 systems, how can i achieve that without any ABAP developments?
Does anyone give me any suggestions or others?
    Best regards,
    Bean

    Hi Bean,
You can achieve this using IDoc and PI using following scenario.
    1) Populate IDoc in 1st SAP system and pass it to the second system as direct IDoc to IDoc transfer.
    Ex: Basic Idoc Type: HRMD_A07
    2) If direct communication between two XI system is not allowed then you can use PI as middle ware to transfer data.
But for IDoc you need to create partner profile and ports etc.
    Hi,
Thanks so much for your kind help.
How to make the transferring automatically whenever the specified kind of master data is changed.
    Best regards,

  • Managed bean/Data exchange between two ADF Rich Faces based applications

    Hi,
I have been trying to research what seems to be a small issue. My requirements are as follows.
    1. I need to be able to pass managed bean information from one ADF Rich Faces based application to another (in two separate ears) at runtime (e.g. from Ear1: SenderApp/Sender.jspx -> Ear2: ReceiverApp/Receiver.jspx).
    2. I do not want to use the database as my applications need to be performant.
    3. Serialization/de-serialization would fall pretty much under the database category. In other words, I like to avoid Serialization/de-serialization of the managed bean.
    4. I cannot use query string due to security issues.
    My question is as follows:
    1. Is there any standard/architecture/best practices for data exchange of backing beans or other forms between two ADF Rich Faces based apps (in two separate ears)?
    2. Has someone found anything similar to an applicationScope that works across applications?
    I would appreciate any ideas.
    Thanks very much,

    Hi,
its not an ADF Faces problem, but not possible in Java EE. You can however fallback to vendor specific implementations like in WLS. From the WebLogic documentation : http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/webapp/sessions.html
Enabling Web applications to share the same session*
By default, Web applications do not share the same session. If you would like Web applications to share the same session, you can configure the session descriptor at the application level in the weblogic-application.xml deployment descriptor. To enable Web applications to share the same session, set the sharing-enabled attribute in the session descriptor to true in the weblogic-application.xml deployment descriptor. See “sharing-enabled” in session-descriptor.
The session descriptor configuration that you specify at the application level overrides any session descriptor configuration that you specify at the Web application level for all of the Web applications in the application. If you set the sharing-enabled attribute to true at the Web application level, it will be ignored.
All Web applications in an application are automatically started using the same session instance if you specify the session descriptor in the weblogic-application.xml deployment descriptor and set the sharing-enabled attribute to true as in the following example:
    +<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>+
    +<weblogic-application xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90";;>+
    +...+
    <session-descriptor>
    +<persistent-store-type>memory</persistent-store-type>+
    +<sharing-enabled>true</sharing-enabled>+
    +...+
    +</session-descriptor>+
    +...+
    +</weblogic-application>+

  • Password synchronization between two domains

    Hey everybody,
we have currently the situation, where we comes to password synchronization between Domain A and Domain B. Trust relationships are not possible caused we need separated authentications between productive network and user tools.
    So we would sync from Domain A (windows 2008 R2) --> Domain B (windows 2008 R2)
Domain B would also replicate per Okta to Office365 Cloud.
Now my question, could anyone point me in the right direction, what tools are usefully on the market to accomplish these issues.
    Sorry for my limited english.
    Best and thanks

You can try using FIM with PCNS to sync passwords from Domain A to Domain B: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj590203(v=ws.10).aspx
As for Office 365, you can simply implement an ADFS platform and federate it so that your users will be using their AD passwords. It is also possible to sync passwords with DirSync.

  • Toplink cache synchronization between two nodes using tomcat

    Hi,
In our appcation we have two nodes. Using websphere we used to synchronize toplink cache between two nodes. Can we do same thing using tomcat.

Yes, TopLink implements cache synchronization using JMS or RMI easily, which are not dependent on the server being used - though it JMS especially does require a JMS provider that is accessible from each node.  Cache synchronization is now cache coordination, and is described using JPA properties here:
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/CacheCoordination
the Toplink cache synchronization/coordination with JMS | EMBARCADEROS seems to be a good read for cache coordination over JMS, but is more aimed at TopLink's sessions.xml configuration.

  • Howto deploy a temporary exchange 2013 server for migration between two Office 365 accounts?

    Objective:
We plan to migrate our office 365 from our current tennant (E3) to a new tennant (M) to drastically cut our annual costs for the same services, while retaining the mail and group memberships of all our users. This will involve installing an exchange server
to download and upload mail from the old tennant to the new tennant.
    Background:
We are a longtime O365 customer, and have been a customer since before the "Midsize business" plans existed. There is no "cookie cutter" migration path from E3 to M. Microsoft currently recommends deploying an MS exchange server and off-boarding
the mailboxes from your E3 subscription and then On-boarding them to a new account under the M plan.  As ridiculous as this is, this is indeed the path our company has decided to go. It isn't cool/fair that we're being shackled to the E plans (that are
vastly more expensive) when we're a small/midsize business that has been a longtime customer of O365, while new customers of equal size to us can expect to save over $4000 annually. The services (when compared) offered are nearly identical.
After calling MS support several times for guidance for this issue, I am advised that we should contact a 'partner' and ask for their support in doing this migration. We did as requested and were provided a quote to the tune of approximately $15,000 to do this
migration for us. Obviously this is unacceptable, and thus our business has decided to rely on my abilities to get it done. Again, involving an MS partner is not an option.
    Environment:
    1 MS AD domain:
    - Original FQDN was @contoso.ca of this domain and UPNs were [email protected]
    - UPN has been changed to [email protected] to allow for ADFS
    - ADFS has been deployed and SSO works for all users with UPN [email protected]
    - An "On-Prem exchange server" does not yet exist
1 O365 Account where main tennant FQDN is @corp.com
    - There are 5 registered domains
    -contoso.ca
    -corp.com
    - contoso.legacy.ca
    -deprecated/will be deleted
    -deprecated/will be deleted
    - There are 40 E3 licenses, all using a @corp.com UPN
    - There are 5 E1 licenses (we acknowledge that these will be upgraded to an M following the migration) that use the UPN contoso.legacy.ca
    - No accounts currently use contoso.ca for email
    - O365 was upgraded to 'the latest version' sometime in summer 2013.
    Migration Plan (High Level):
Setup a local windows server (trial license)
Deploy an exchange 2013 server (trial license) on the aforementioned windows server  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/hh973395.aspx
      Prepare and deploy Dirsync Deployment
    of Dirsync
Add exchange to office 365 and begin replicating the mailboxes from the cloud to the exchange server. Wait for synchronization to complete.
    More information: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh534377(v=exchg.150).aspx
    http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/ff633682.aspx
Evaluate total time it took to sync data.
Time it takes to download data to exchange should be relatively similar to time it takes to restore mail to the new service.
Open a new office365 account under the M plan.
Plan a 1 hour mail & contoso.ca domain login outage
temporarily change all user UPN's to match the new tennant
perform a dirsync to the new tennant
disable dirsync after all accounts have been auto-created/provisioned
      re-establish UPN + mail access.
Plan a date and time for the cut over.
remove the exchange hybrid server from the old tennant.
Point MX records directly to the exchange server.
      Cut office 365 service.
After the 30 minutes ~ 1 hour 'mandatory' wait time imposed by MS to 'register' the domain with O365, add @corp.com to
    the new tennant
fix all user UPN's in the cloud to match their real UPN's.
This can be done with powershell.
attach exchange hybrid server to new tennant
Point MX records to the new tennant
Migrate all data from the local exchange server to the cloud under the new plan.
    Current progress (Lab):
I have created a sandbox (Lab with no internet access or connectivity to production) environment in VMware and cloned the following servers to it:
1x Domain Controller (DC) running windows server 2012 (named DC02)
    1x DC running windows server 2008 R2 (named DC01)
    1x windows server 2012 R2 - prepped with all the pre-requisites to install exchange 2013. (named EXC01)
Where I am stuck / Problem:
I have installed exchange on the server EXC01 in the lab environment using my account. I am a domain administrator in the contoso.ca domain, but my UPN is [email protected]
After the installation of exchange, I notice that my email address in Active Directory changed from @corp.com to @contoso.ca. By default, I do not see @corp.com to be an available email address to select as my email address, and changing it in AD does not resolve
    the problem.
In the exchange portal, I found "Mail flow ---> Accepted Domains", and believe I should add @corp.com to the accepted domain list. Questions:
    1) Must I add corp.com and the other domains that exist in office 365 to the local exchange before I go through with the hybrid wizard?
    2) If I must add them to exchange, I am provided with three choices:
    - Authoritative Domain
    - Internal Relay Domain
    - External Relay Domain
Given that the domain is currently in office365 and is authoritative there, which of these applies?
    3) Most documentation I have found has been about a one way migration from on-prem to the cloud. I have had a hard time finding a step by step guide for cloud to local (new server) and then back to cloud. Does anyone here have any good documentation for this
process? Would love it if it took into consideration multiple UPN/email addresses.

    Hi,
Here are my answers you can refer to:
    1. Yes, we should select the primary SMTP domain for our organization and any other accepted domains that will be used in the hybrid deployment:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj200787(v=exchg.150).aspx
    2. It depends on the usage of the specific accepted domain. And Exchange version has no influence.
To determine it, you can firstly check the function of the three types in the following article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124423(v=exchg.150).aspx
    3. Here are some reference about the migration from on-premise Exchange server to Office 365:
    http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/office-365/exchange-online/configuring-exchange-2013-hybrid-deployment-migrating-office-365-exchange-online-part1.html
Additionally, since the issue is related to Exchange online, I recommend you ask for help on our Exchange online forum to get more professional help:
