Data transfers and finding your PC stuff on an iMac?
Hi , i was wonering if any knows where the videos from an iphone go when you have a data transfer done from a PC to an iMac? i can seem to find mine & i was also hoping that once i do find them i would be able to put them all in a folder somewhere either in iphoto or imovie. anyone have any advise about this?

Open up the bluetooth preferences - it's under the top right BT drop down menu. Click on settings and there you will see an option that says:
Allow Bluetooth Devices to Wake Computer.
Make sure that's NOT selected and it should stop your mouse waking the computer.
With regards to your Q about the loss connection - I believe all BT mouse exhibit that problem/issue. They go into a sleep mode to conserve battery power - and you have to click the buttons to make it wake. I found that if you click the left/right buttons at the same time, it makes it wake faster.
BTW, I have a Macally BT mini mouse - it does the same thing yours does.

I have a cube Zaa_c01 which is updated by two data source ZDS1 and ZDS2 (Delta Update) I copy the Zaa_c01 and I created new cube Zaa_c02, also I transferred the data to that. But it is shoeing in single request in cube, after partion I again reloaded to ZAA_C01 , know I am seeing only single request in a cube.
Whether I lose delta in this case , or I am missing any step, this activity I done in Development, and need to do in production.

Partitioning is split the large dimensional cube into smaller cubes.... regarding performance point of view we have to do this partitioning.
there are two types of partitioning..
1. Logical Partitioning.
2.Physical Partitioning
physical partitioning is done at Database level . and logical partitioning done at Data target level.(EX: Info cube level)
Cube partitioning with time characteristics 0calmonth Fiscper is physical partitioning.(so, we need at leats one of the above time charecterstics for doing partioning...).
Logical partitioning is u partition ur cube by year or month that is u divide the cube into different cubes and create a multiprovider on top of it.
STEPS :
SELECT YOUR CUBE.. AND DOUBLE CLICK IT..->
in the menu's select EXTRAS menu--> in that select -->DB PERFORMANCE sub menu..-> in that again select Partitioning sub menu..
and specify how many partions you want to do...
but you cube should be contain atleast ocalmonth or phical varient should be there...
Prerequisites
You can only partition a dataset using one of the two partitioning criteria calendar month (0CALMONTH) or fiscal year/period (0FISCPER). At least one of the two InfoObjects must be contained in the InfoProvider.

Finder and finding your device
Would like to know if it's possible to make sure your devices - a USB drive in this case - shows up in devices every time it's connected . I don't know why but finding my external drive is hit or miss in that column and it drives me crazy. Finder seens to want me to play hide and seek. I've googled and I know I'm not the only one who can't find their device sometimes. Did read all the answers but not convinced any of them will solve the problem for good. I know you have to tick external devices in preferences. I'm wondering if it's the port itself not reporting to Finder - lol . Can't think of a better way to put it, sorry - not into tech and newbie to Mac.
May I also ask if it is possible to keep Finder's opening page in front of you so you don't need to go back and forth to the dock?
Appreciate your time.You are most likely using a secure internet connection that is being exposed in Oak Harbor. One way to test this out is to open up Maps and click on the cross hair target in the bottom left and it should do as you described. Another way to verify is if you visit http://speedtest.net (on your computer, not the iPT) and see where your location is (marked as the person). If your location says the same thing, you are most likely behind a secure connection (such as VPN) or using dynamic IP addressing.
I also think that the location goes based off what you registered your iTunes account home location as because when I used a free locating service called DNDetails (http://dndetails.com/location.php) to find my IP's location on the map, it would always pull up another town miles away.

Hos do I find "your stuff" and profile settings on the 4S?
brand new 4s there was no user guide.
I saw in discussions about people getting a ton of email notications and it was telling them to go under "my stuff" and then profile to select email subscription notifications. I just didn't know how to even find "my stuff" section. -

Does 'find your iPhone' use a lot of internet? My mobile data is running out ridiculously fast and I need it to slow down! Anyone has suggestions / info?
You should shut down all the apps running in the background and then reset your phone. Double tap the home button to open the multitasking drawer (iOS 6.X) or the multitasking screen (iOS 7.X) if you are on iOS 6.X press and hold one of the app icons and wait for the icon's to start to jiggle, just like when you want to delete an app. Tap the little x that appears in the upper corner of the icons. Repeat until all the icons are gone.
If you are on iOS 7.X once the multitasking screen is open swipe up on all the app images until they are all closed. Tap on the home screen to close.
Then press and hold both the Home and Sleep buttons at the same time and wait for the Apple logo to appear then release both buttons. The phone will restart itself.
If this doesn't help try doing a Reset All Settings reset, you will not lose any data or content or media. But you will have to reset any setting you turned on or off in Settings. This will reset all settings back to factory default. Settings => General => Reset => Reset All Settings. -
Just transferred data to iMac from working Mac Pro that is using Parallels and Windows 7 and the Biblesoft 5 and it will not open on the iMac the only change is the new Maverick OS from the macpro Lion OS. Any ideas?
<Personal Information Edited by Host>Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant do not restore MS Windows, it only does the OS X partition. All of your Windows stuff must be backed up and restore using a MS Windows application. If no one on this forum is able to answer your question then I'd repost it on a Parallels forum to see how other Windows users approach this.

I had a few questions regarding purchased content (i.e. apps, music, movies) and data transfers:
1. Can you re-download purchased apps for free or do you have to purchase them again?
2. Can you re-download purchased movies and music if the data is lost or do you have to purchase them again?
3. I noticed every time you download a movie it prompts you to backup the data with discs. I practically never use discs and most of the time, I have a large amount of purchased data that simply will not fit on DVD-Rs. Is it possible to backup data via external hard-drives? Is there an export option in iTunes to do this or do you have to go into the physical path which it's located?
4. Can you sync purchased content with multiple devices? For instance, I have a 32GB iTouch and an iPhone, would I be able to sync the same data for both of these devices or am I restricted to one?
5. How many computers can you have data synced with? For instance, I have five computers and a soon-to-be MacBook. How many computers can I have the same data synced up to?
I tried looking around for this information, but didn't have much luck finding it. Apple doesn't seem to clearly define these parameters unless there is a link one of you might have that discusses these issues. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Redownload for free, assuming still available in the store.

You are not entitled to a repeat download of any media item. Sometimes unfortunate users are granted a one-time only repeat download if they ask nicely but don't count on it.

Yes, you can backup to external drives or network shares however iTunes has no system for managing this. You just need to copy the files from their source folders, either manually or....
*Fast backup for iTunes library (Windows Only)*
Grab SyncToy 2.1, a free tool from MS. This can be used to copy your entire iTunes library (& other important data folders) onto another hard drive or network share. You can then use SyncToy periodically to synchronise or echo your library to the backup. A preview will show which files need to be updated giving you a chance to spot unexpected changes and during the run only the new or updated files will be copied saving lots of time. And if your media is all organised below the main iTunes folder then you should also be able to open the backup library on any system running the same version of iTunes.
4. Can you sync purchased content with multiple devices? For instance, I have a 32GB iTouch and an iPhone, would I be able to sync the same data for both of these devices or am I restricted to one?
You can sync the content to as many iPods/iPhones/iPads as you like. Each device can hold protected content from up to five different accounts at any one time.
5. How many computers can you have data synced with? For instance, I have five computers and a soon-to-be MacBook. How many computers can I have the same data synced up to?
You can authorise protected content on up to five different computer systems at any one time. Virtual machines count as separate systems as do computers with reformatted drives or, perhaps, certain hardware changes. Ideally you should deauthorise a computer before any major upgrade. If you are no longer able to access one of your systems but need to release the authorisation then, if you have five active authorisations you can deauthorise all of them together, however you may not then repeat this preocess for 12 months.
Protected content can only be transfered to a device when the computer is authorised. Devices may be manually managed from a number of computers but may only be automatically synced with one. Syncing is a one way process as far as media is concerned, library to device, but certain metadata such as play count and rating flows in both direction. With manual managment such metadata is not copied.
I tried looking around for this information, but didn't have much luck finding it. Apple doesn't seem to clearly define these parameters unless there is a link one of you might have that discusses these issues. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Data transfering between a mobile and F2M03GLA device using bluetooth
I am using F2M03GLA (which is a low power embedded Bluetooth v2.0+EDR module with built in high out put antenna).
I want to send and receive data from mobile to this device using bluetooth . I want to know wheather the data transfering from a mobile to F2M03GLA device is same as data transfering between a mobile to mobile. If there is any difference can u please specify me those differences.Have you looked at the peer to peer stuff from Adobe? That might solve the data transfer without needing to stand up your own server.

My i Pad 3 shows "cannot Access Find My Friends open the app and review your sign in information to continue sharing your location. And I have two buttons : Later and Open but they don't work. As long as I have this screen situation, I cann't do anything on my I Pad. Please help !!
I have the same problem on my iPhone4. It is obviously a bug in the software. Once it pops out I am locked out of my phone. I can't even begin to describe the frustration this causes. All that stuff about holding down the buttons is useless. the phone won't even shut off. I can take a screen shot like that or go to voice control. Even when I got to a wifi connection, I can't get on. This app blocks everything else. This is a serious bug and can have serious consequences. The only thing my phone would do is go to voice control and let me play iTunes or phone people. Some smart phone hey?

I just bought a new desktop and will be taking my old one to the apple store tomorrow to have the data transferred. Does the transfer include the transfer of programs or just data?
They will simply use Migration Assistant to transfer your Home folder, third-party applications and support files, and system preferences. This is something you could do yourself. You would need a Firewire cable to connect between your old computer and your new one. Migration Assistant is installed in the Utilities folder of your new computer.

The phone will only show it's location if it is connected to cellular network or Wi-Fi. If those options are switched off, you can't locate the phone.
