  • Data Transformation Service (DTS) available in Oracle SQL Developer?

    Hi All,
    Sorry to bother you again. Is Data Transformation Service (DTS) available in Oracle SQL Developer? So far I cannot find it. For example, i want merge First Name, Last Name column from Access,excel or cvs to migrate as Full Name in Oracle or Full name in Access,Xls or cvs split into First name & last name column in Oracle. What method or service should I use.
    Regards,
    Tun Tun

    On wikipedia, I see that's a SQL Server component, so I don't think it's possible to use it in any other program.
    But you can always tweak columns through normal queries, and even create a new table based on that, like
    CREATE TABLE Table_New AS
    SELECT First_Name || Last_Name FROM Table_OldHope that helps,
    K.

  • Config Lab tool for Oracle CC&B Package

    Hi,
    Is there any configlab tool for Oracle CC&B package for confifuration management accross different environments. we can use VSS as version management for java codes and cobol codes in CC&B. But i am unable to identify any config lab tool for configuration management.
    Guys please help me out in this.
    Thanks and Regards
    sayantan

    Sayantan,
    There is (unfortunately) no silver bullet for your requirement.
    Here is a good blog article on the different options available.
    https://blogs.oracle.com/theshortenspot/entry/configlab_versus_bundling_vers
    Implementations use variations and combinations of the 3 tools that are available, coupled with 3rd party migration tools (like vss). The strategy for an implementation's development-to-production life cycle will vary based on a multitude of factors. Skill set of the IT shop, what tools they are used to, internal audit procedures, etc.
    Hope the article provides some food for thought!

  • Last Accessed Date of Tables (including SELECT) for Oracle 8 DB clean-up

  • Open source tool for oracle to mysql migration

    Hi,
    Is there any open source tools available for the database migration from Oracle to MySQL.
    Please advice.

    Hi,
    This forum is for migrating to Oracle from non-Oracle databases. It would be better if you tried an Internet search or the MySQL forum -
    http://forums.mysql.com/
    for information about moving from Oracle to MySQL.

  • In OEM 12c 12.1.0.3, no data found in ASH analysis for Oracle DB 10.2.0.4

    Hi Experts,
    Has this bug been fixed till now? Any patch can I applied on this issues?
    Thanks,
    Royal.

    The issue seems to be from DB side and an SR would help you in resolving the issue.
    However, added below few points you can look as well from your side.
    + DB may be core dumping in which case it would be required to resolve the core dump issue.
    + Running ASH report from sqlplus may not be working in which we need to resolve the DB side issue.
    + If feasible you can choose to upgrade DB to higher version.

  • Receiver based date transformation

    Hi,
    We have a scenario where we need to map the date to the  receiving databases. We have the same map going to oracle receiver and a mySQL receiver. The date formats of both the databases are different. How can this be handled within the same map ( like receiver based date transformation) or does it need to go throught the traditional route of different maps for different JDBC receivers? Any help is appreciated..
    Teresa

    Teresa,
    Yes, I have the same payload going across to both DB at the same time. THe payload to mySQL is failing because the date format is in oracle transformation. I was wondering whether this could be done without doing 2 different maps.
    Yes, you can do it in the same mapping.
    For two different receivers, you must be having two different Business Services? If yes, then get the values of receiver BS in your mapping and do a simple condition test. Apply the date transformation logic accordingly.
    For getting the Receiver Service name, you can either use the "Receiver" under "Constant" standard function or use the following UDF -
    String RcvService;
    java.util.Map map;
    map = container.getTransformationParameters();
    RcvService = (String) map.get(StreamTransformationConstants.RECEIVER_SERVICE);
    return RcvService;
    You can change the above code as per your requirement.
    Hope this helps.

  • GoldenGate 11.1 with MySQL 5.5

    On what date will be available GoldenGate 11.1 with MySQL 5.5 ?

    user2663706 wrote:
    On what date will be available GoldenGate 11.1 with MySQL 5.5 ?It looks like it's already "certified" and available. Admittedly, it's a challenge to find this information, though. Just for "fun", below is literally the process I followed when seeing if MySQL 5.5 is supported. (I guess it's subjective as to whether this is intuitive or not. I guess I'm kind of used to something more along the lines of "yum info goldengate" & "yum install goldengate"... one day, maybe : - )
    First, I check the "certification matrix", which actually does include MySQL 5.5 as a certified source/target
    <ul>
    <li> from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/goldengate/downloads/index.html
    <li> download spreadsheet: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/data-integration/goldengate1111-cert-matrix-349179.xls (it's hard to find the reference to MySQL 5.5; just search for the string "5.5" in the spreadsheet)
    </ul>
    Then, one of course has to see if the actual GG software (and the correct version) is available. It could be that it's not available for your platform (e.g., linux, windows, solaris); if so, open an SR (service request) and a "patch" will be posted to the support site. When downloading the software...
    <ul>
    <li> first, you can check OTN (see OGG download link, above); but this just has OGG for Oracle DB (basically the most common downloads are listed on OTN)
    <li> then, check for releases on edelivery: https://edelivery.oracle.com .... Here, you'll find OGG for "MySQL 5.x" (that's literally what it says).
    <li> search for: "Oracle Fusion Middleware" & Platform (e.g., Linux x86-64) & search & select: Oracle GoldenGate for Non Oracle Database v11.1.1.1.0 Media Pack for Linux x86-64 / 11.1.1.1.0 / B64653-01 / SEP-15-2011 / parts=8 / size=717M
    <li> download: Oracle  GoldenGate V11.1.1.1.1 for MySQL 5.x on Linux x86-64 / V27808-01 / size=96M
    <li> ...and I always check the support site for the latest patches as well ( http://support.oracle.com ). I don't see any currently for MySQL, though. (Note that currently, "patches" for OGG are actually the full software distro. You don't have to download the release and "patch" it. You can just download the patch and unzip it.)
    </ul>
    Once you've downloaded, you can run "ggsci -v" for version info... sometimes this says what database version is supported (but not in this case):
    $ ./ggsci -v
    Oracle GoldenGate Command Interpreter for MySQL
    Version 11.1.1.1.1 OGGCORE_11.1.1.1.1_PLATFORMS_110729.1700
    Linux, x64, 64bit (optimized), MySQL Enterprise on Jul 29 2011 22:29:06
    Copyright (C) 1995, 2011, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.And in the downloaded software bundle, see also the release notes ( OGG_WinUnix_Rel_Notes_11.1.1.1.1.pdf ), which do say:
    New Features in 11.1.1.0
    MySQL Capture: Oracle GoldenGate now supports log based capture from MySQL 5.1.15 or higher.
    For more information, see the MySQL Installation and Setup Guide.And this points you back to the documentation site on OTN, where you want to download the MySQL installation notes:
    <ul>
    <li> go to: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/goldengate/documentation/index.html
    <li> look for latest patch that actually had the MySQL docs (it might not be part of the latest patch set) : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22355_01/index.htm
    <li> view "MySQL Installation and Setup Guide" ( http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22355_01/doc.11111/e21506.pdf ) (Note: it makes no reference to MySQL 5.5 specifically, but the install instructions should still apply.)
    <li> check the support site for the latest notes ( http://support.oracle.com , click tab: "knowledge" )
    </ul>
    That's the long road, anyway.... Feel free to take any shortcuts you can find.

  • OIM 9.1.0.2 - Weblogic JDBC Multi Data Sources for Oracle RAC

    Does OIM OIM 9.1.0.2 BP07 support Weblogic JDBC Multi Data Sources (Services>JDBC>Multi Data Sources) for Oracle RAC instead of inserting the "Oracle RAC JDBC URL" on JDBC Data Sources for xlDS and xlXADS (Services>JDBC>Data Sources> xlDS|xlXADS > Connection Poll> URL) ?
    If yes, is there are any other modifications that need to be made on OIM, or just changing the data sources?

    Yes, it's supported. You install against one instance directly of the Rac Server. Then you update the config.xml file and the jdbc resource in your weblogic server with the full rac address. It is documented for installation against RAC. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14049_01/doc.9101/e14047/database.htm#insertedID2

  • Oracle Database Inserts Via Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS)

    This question involves a SQL Server database and an Oracle database. The databases reside on different servers. One of our developers periodically uses Microsoft DTS (Data Transformation Services) to read data from a SQL Server database and insert it into an Oracle database. Normally the job runs once a day and reportedly inserts about 20,000 rows. The job usually runs fine. About a month ago execution of the daily job was suspended. Two days ago the developer ran a job to select and insert nine days of information. He estimated that 80,000 rows would be inserted. The job cancelled after twenty-three minutes when it filled up the 512 MB UNDO tablespace. (FYI, we use automatic UNDO management.) At the point of failure the number of active sessions spiked sharply in the Oracle database because of system I/O waits (log file parallel write, db file parallel write, and control file parallel write). The number of active sessions also spiked sharply in three other Oracle databases whose files reside on the same array of disk drives. Most of those sessions were waiting on commits (log file sync). The spikes lasted for one minute or less. Grid Control’s performance monitor shows that sqlservr.exe is the module being executed when the UNDO tablespace fills up. We ran the job a second time and closely monitored it, watching the amount of UNDO space grow until it used all 512 MB available. The symptoms described above for the first cancellation were repeated in the second cancellation.
    We reran the job by processing a single day’s worth of information and that ran fine. Then we ran it for two days of information, then for six days of information. Everything ran fine. During those tests no more than 70 MB of space of UNDO were used.
    Our developer reported that last week he ran the job for nine days of information, the same amount as the job that cancelled twice today. He estimates that it ran for about 80 minutes and went to a normal end-of-job.
    Can anyone here offer an explanation of why we seem to be getting these varied demands for space in the UNDO tablespace? Do you know if Microsoft DTS issues a commit after each insert or only a single commit at the end-of-job?
    Thank you,
    Bill

  • Can we use oracle goldengate 11.2.1.0.1 for oracle 10.2.0.4.0

    Hello,
    I have a question in mind...
    We have a db server running on windows server 2008 with the db version 10.2.0.4 running on it. we have migrate the db from this windows server to a linux box (redhat linux 5.2) with the same version of oracle on it. We have to make a real time replication of data between these cross platforms using oracle goldengate.
    Now my question is that, is it possible to create a real time replication between these two platforms using oracle goldengate 11.2 as the db version running on both the servers are 10.2 as we are not getting a 10g s/w for goldengate at oracle.com or is there any other possible ways to do a real time replication other than using a golden gate ?

    You need to make sure, that ASM registers dynamically with your listener. In my case i have set local_listener in ASM instance as follows:
    SQL> show parameter local_listener
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    local_listener string (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(AD
    DRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=xx.xxx.xxx.94)(PORT=1521))))
    This is no GG specific question. You need this for other tools like Gridcontrol as well.
    Hope this helps,
