Data Usage Alert for wrong account

I received 2 email alerts for an acount that is not mine. I'm not concerned too much, but I'd like to make sure my email address is not connected to this other account.

This is primarily a customer-to-customer forum.  While VzW reps respond to some threads, it isn't guaranteed. 
Have you tried calling Customer Service?  When you get the phone tree, press 4 for Other and then say Agent.

    Hi, this post will report a data usage alert error for June 2014.
    I previously signed up for data usage alerts when 50%, 75%, and 90% of my data is used. On June 10, at 11:00 PM, I discovered through my Verizon Wireless account that over 250 MB of data had already been used (my plan contains 250 MB). I did not receive any usage alerts prior to this time. I immediately upgraded to the 500 MB plan to avoid overage charges.
    If the data usage alerts had worked properly, I would not have faced the upgrade fee or overage charges. Would it be possible to cancel the additional charges that arose this month because the data usage alerts did not work properly?

    Are you serious!!!  Look at all of the calls on this matter in your records and fix it.  I am sure at this point that it is another Verizon scam to solicite millions of dollars from it's customers only to have yet another class action lawsuit filed so the lawyers can get rich and the customers screwed.

    I receive email alerts when my data usage gets to 75%, 90%, and 100% of usage. How do I remove one of the email addresses these alerts are being sent to (it is not one of my email addresses)?

    I understand your desire to update which email addresses receive the data usage alerts.  I would love to assist.
    When you log into your My Verizon account online, you can edit your alert settings (email addresses and phone numbers) within the "Manage My Account" section of your online account.  Under the "Manage My Account" tab on the left, click the "Manage Family Safeguards & Controls" link.  Then, under the "Usage Controls" tab, click "View Details & Edit".  Lastly, under the "Usage Limits" tab you will then be able to edit the email addresses that you want to receive email alerts.  Please let me know how this works out for you.

    Ever wonder why carriers don't send text usage alerts for your minutes? They do it for data but not minutes.

    I don't know about anyone else but I check my usage almost every day. If you're with AT&T you can download the "my AT&T" app that will allow you to check your minutes and data usage. You can also send a free text to *MIN# and *DATA#, and you will get a free text back telling you how many minutes and how much data you've used (as someone else has already said). I'm sure Verizon has a comparable service. These days I'm checking more for my data usage than minute usage, as I have a considerable amount of rollover minutes built up with AT&T. I'm on wifi most of the time but I still like to keep track of the data, just to be sure I'm not going over.

    I looked into it and figured out that the phone dials out nightly at 12:29am every night.   I went into my settings and went to general..about..diagnostics and useage..then diagnostics and useage data to see this.  I then clicked don't send...but I am still getting useage alerts.  Can anyone help me please...

    Honestly, from reading the thread linked, they all come off as a bunch of whiney people that cannot be bothered to help themselves.
    Little to nothing in that thread indicates an issue beyond inept consumers.  Yes, I read several pages on the incessant gripes.  Very few made any actual attempts to troubleshoot issues before whining about the "Apple issue" and those that did actual troubleshooting got their issues resolved.
    So no, Apple has nothing to fix beyond a few specific devices that are experiencing hardware issues.
    If you have actually put forth effort and done the basic troubleshooting, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.  Whining will get nothing accomplished.

    You can not see this info on VZW's site. There are apps for smartphones that will break down the info though, but by site or what was downloaded

    This isn't a feature that's built into iOS.
    Most carriers will send an alert before you reach your data cap and you can check your data usage in Settings > Usage > Cellular Usage.

    Hi.. I have TWO email accounts on iPhone Mail. I want ONLY one to sound an alert upon receiving new messages. The Sound Option for Mail applies to all accounts. Is there a way to get around that and just alert for the account desired?

    There is no setting to change that, unless you choose to have the second account set to manual for fetching mail. If it is set to manual and the other account, the one you wish to receive the alert for is set to fetch, then it would emulate only receiving the alert for one account. It is a generic alert that sounds when you receive mail.
    While not necessarily what you were looking for, it is a workaround.

    Sign up for Google's paid Apps for Business service, you can then set things up using Exchange & you'll get push using Gmail. Otherwise, you can't get push using Gmail.

  • The data usage alerts seem to be a rip off!

    So, on the 13th I got text messages saying that we used up all data in our plan and that we either sign up for an increased allowance for $10 / month or pay $15 for an additional GB for that period. I almost was tempted to sign up, but then didn't.
    Well, we got the bill and turns out we were actually still UNDER our allowance by several hundred MB by the 16th, so on the 13th it would have been even lower.
    I think it's a rip off if you send people a note that they used up all their data telling them to reply now to increase their allowance if in reality they're still well below.

    I use this app.  It does measure all data in and out, and because of that you will see its totals higher than the phone or Verizons data widget count since MMS is data, but doesnt count towards data allotment. It keeps me on track. It has plan and alarm settings to cut off your data when you reach certain thresholds versus Verizon just sending out a text alert, but not disabling data.My Data Manager - Data Usage - Android Apps on Google Play
    I typically set 3 alarms:  1 for a daily (Data amount divided by 31 days)
    1 for 50% and
    1 for 85-90%.
    You can always re-enable mobile data if it cuts you off and it will continue to monitor your usage.

  • Data Usage Graph Entirely Wrong

    As you can see in the image below my data usage is only at 0.17 GB. My data limit is at 1 GB for the billing cycle. For some reason the graph is displaying a wildly different rate of data consumption. It's extremely misleading, just wondering if this is a bug many experience and if there is some better method by which to measure my data. Frankly it's ridiculous that their built in one is so off.     You can set the red bar to whatever level you want.... check the mobile data limit and set warnings - you'll get a red bar and an orange bar that you control....

  • Last Dunning Data not generated for customer account

    Hi Gurus,
    I have run the Dunning for a customer, it was successfully data generated to the customer account and able to see dunning history until 1st  and 2nd runs, but 3rd and final dunned but no data generated for the particular customer.
    In this time i find few other line items are additioned to the previous line item.
    The 3rd dunning days are already exceeded the grace days, but not data generated because of additional items are not eligible for dun this time they have good enough time as grace days.
    So this is caused, and no data generated to the for the respective line item which has to get the data for it's 3rd dun.
    When i run for some future time 3rd dunning was successfully got and data updated, for additional items also got dunned 1st reminder this time because they are also eligible this time..
    In my dunning procedure i have selected for always dun for all intervals and print line items for last dun.

  • ICal and customize alerts for each account

    Running OS 10.8.2 on iMac.  I have four  calendar accounts across the network, but use just one for my boss.  The other calendars are for other users in our office, but I only need to see and/or use these calendars periodically.  However, I get alerts from the calendars I don't use on a daily basis.  In OS 10.6, I only received alerts to the events I created.
    Any way not to get alerts from these calendars?  I can disable the accounts and then enable them if I want to add an event, but there seems to be a better way.

    In the Calendar application, Control-Click the caledndar in the calendar list and select 'Get Info". From there select "Ignore Alerts". Repeat for all calendars you do not want reminders from.

  • Yahoo Contact Sync Alert for Deleted Account

    I keep getting a yahoo contact sync alert every thirty minutes or so - most annoying as I don't want to sync any contacts, and it wants to sync with a deleted account. This happened after the upgrade to Lion.

    I don't see anywhere in iCloud where I can delete the account.  I do maintain the account in Mail, but I looked in there before I posted anything here and it's not set to sync contacts.  This is the only thing I have a problem with is that it's trying to sync contacts.  I don't want to do this anymore and haven't done it for a while.  I would just tell it OK and be done with it, but the contacts on Yahoo don't match up with the contacts on my Mac/on iCloud...and the only options are to replace with the Yahoo contacts or merge the contacts.  I don't want to do either, and there's no option to replace the Yahoo contacts.  One other thing that I didn't note before is that it's only doing it on my MacBook Air.  It's not doing it on any of my other Macs which were also set to sync with Yahoo at one time, but had the sync turned off.
