Data Usage Packages should be in smaller increments and lower bills.

I just read info on data usage on your website.  It says that you are in the process of beta testing new data usage packages. All of the packages your site describes are increasing data limits, i.e. "the data amount included with Economy Plus through Performance XFINITY Internet tiers would increase from 250 GB to 300 GB".I checked my own data useage (average around 30gb/mb) and then clicked on your link that shows the median data useage for your customers (average 40 gb/mo). Is there a way to lower my bill by having a lower data limit?  I can't see why I (and apparently your average customer) should have to pay for a data allowance that is way more than my average useage. Is there a 100gb or 50gb/mo plan?I could be misreading this info, and if so, my apologies.

If someone at Verizon could answer this I'd appreciate it as I am considering whether to purchase through Verizon or AT&T.  I've been a Verizon customer for several years but I'm growing a little concerned about these complaints that I've been reading about.

  • What to do about diagnostic and usage reports. I have crash reports and low memory?

I just recently got my iPhone 4S and I'm still learning and going through everything and ran into the diagnostic and usage reports low memory and crash reports what do I do from here?

You do not have to do anything.
They will automatic send to Apple for diagnostic.

To reduce data usage, you should put iPad on Aeroplane Mode to stop all background activities when not using iPad.

  • Does anyone have problems with data usage with att and Iphone5?

Hello, Does anyone have problems with data usage or non usage I should say with Iphone 5 and AT&T?

After 4+ months of dealing with this data usage and battery drain problem that included 3 data captures of my wife's iMac, the trigger for us regarding the problems syncing with iCloud, and 5 hours of logs off my iPhone 6 to be analyzed by Apple engineers that included times my wife's computer was both on and off to demonstrate the difference in data usage and battery drain under those conditions, I can say with very reasonable certainty that the iOS 8.3 and corresponding Mac OS 10.10.3 update has solved the problem.
We have now been running for about 2 weeks and data usage with the iCloud Servers attempting to sync has dropped from a rate of 31 GBs to under 15 MBs per month.  Yes, you read it right.  We were burning 2000 times as much data doing absolutely nothing important on both of our phones, a 5s and a 6.  Just imagine what that does to battery life!  The 5s would last about 5 hours and the 6 was dead in less than 14.
The distasteful aspect of this process was how the engineers were quietly fixing the problem at the same time sending messages to my contact person within Apple that were dismissive in nature in the face of indisputable unreasonable results. I must say, this experience with the multiple times the engineers' responses were inappropriate put a little tarnish on the old Apple shine of the ‘It just works’ mantra. This was my first experience in 34 years that caused me to stop recommending Apple products without reservations and with a disclaimer.
Since the update solved the problem, then I can only conclude that there was a logic bug regarding the reaction within the process to the incoming data that was corrected.  There was noting short of logging out of iCloud that circumvented the problem for us, Gator5000e and probably many others noted on other threads.  I am not trying to imply that this is the cause of everyones battery use problem, but it is reasonable that it was a cause for many.

  • Tracking Data Usage

I've been keeping an eye on my data usage, trying to make sure my wife and I don't go over our limited 2gb per month. Neither of us stream videos or games or use youtube very heavily, but I'm still seeing peaks throughout the day on each of our cell phones of over 3,000 kb, sometimes over 12,000kb. Any ideas on what could use this amount of data or more at one time? We do have a few smaller games on our phones (Candy Crush and Songpop), could these games be using that much data at one time if played for an extended period of time?

Hello jblakey102. I'm happy to see that you're checking on your data usage closely. Your phone will default to connect to your WiFi if you have WiFi turned on in your phone's settings and have already saved your WiFi's log in information. Keep in mind that it may take a few moments for your phone to successfully connect to the WiFi once it's in range, so there may be some data used during the crossover or if your WiFi signal is weak or unavailable. What model phone do you have? Many phones offer the ability to turn off mobile data. This is a great way to ensure your phone is only using WiFi, but you would need to turn it back on to send or receive a picture message or to get data service when out of range.
    Thank you

  • Data usage analysis page. Doesn't match current usage page?

    O.K. Here's what I'm going through.
Verizon tells me I'm way over my 5.0 limit. Right now I am close to 9GB.
So to check I click on usage, This is what I get.
Data Allowance Exceeded. Additional data usage will be billed at $10 per 1.000 GB. Current Overage = 3.950 GB
4.0 overages x $10 = $40.00 in overage fees. You may be able to avoid data overage charges by increasing your data allowance before 11/25/12 and requesting the change be backdated to the beginning of the current bill cycle.      5 GB of 5 GB
    +3   1.0  GB Overage Allowance    3.000 GB  / 3.0 GB
Data Usage can be measured in kilobytes, megabytes and gigabytes.
      Data Usage Equivalent
    1,024 Kilobytes (KB) = 1 Megabyte (MB)  1,024 Megabytes (MB) = 1 Gigabyte (GB)
        +1   1.0  GB Overage Allowance    0.950 GB  / 1.0 GB
Data Usage can be measured in kilobytes, megabytes and gigabytes.
      My Usage:8.950, 9,164.800,   9,384,755.200
      Total Usage: 8.950,  9,164.800,  9,384,755.200
Next I click View Data Details.
I get 160 lines of mumbo jumbo. So then I go to analyze usage. And it tells me I'm not even close to 1GB! Whats up with that? So I read every single line and notice that the date is from Sept to October. I only joined up Oct. 25th. Shouldn't it show my current analysis from Oct 25th to now? How do I get this number.
Because within the first 3days of using verizon it said I was OVER my 5GB!
I only use FB, email and browse the web. Ebay and shopping channels. At the store they told me 5Gb is more than enough. What do I do? Somebody please help?

Yes I suppose it is. I have a 1gig netbook. The wireless card didn't work anymore ( or so verizon thinks so) So they upgraded me to a 4g wifi hotspot now sitting on my counter. This is the only computer in the house. And we live very rurally. (only reason why I went with this) I have 2 neighbor within 15 acres. And 160 acres behind my house. So I don't think someone is hacking in. Besides, I just got this. Not sure how someone could figure out within 1 day or so that I have one.
    THanks

You can kill all of them as long as no one else is using the system.
The processes restart (are invoked) automatically when user's log back into the system.
If you want to really focus on which DLLHOST.EXE to kill then do this:
Open Component Services (RUN menu DCOMCNFG)
Click on the Running Processes folder under Component Services --> Computers --> My Computer
You'll see a bunch of COM+ objects with a process ID (PID) associated with each object.
Look for the K2Processing and Everest Update processes and take note of the process ID's
Now look for those process ID's in Task Manager (PID) and only kill those processes.
    Goodluck,
    John

  • DATA USAGE OF IP's UNDER SAME ROUTER

    HEllO ALL,
I need to know that how can i monitor the data usage of all IP's( ALL LAPTOP and MOBILES) which are all sharing the same router. Please help me out as soon as possible.

Read the user manual for the router or contact the manufacturer of the router.  My router has all that information inside it and I can see it when I use my browser to login to the router.

  • Data usage spikes

I have an iMac and an Airbook, both using Time Capsule for WiFi connection to a Verizon 551L via a CradlePoint bridge.  Looking at my normal data usage on my shared plan, my computers and three iPhone 4 (3G) cell phones typically use 250MB/day with normal browsing, e-mail, etc.  I have automatic downloading of updates turned off on all of my devices and I set them to power down at night and sleep during the day if I don't use them for 30-minutes.  When I download iTunes albums, add an app, or update software, my usage will spike to 1-2GB, but I usually stay within my 16GB data plan. When I updated both computers to Mavericks in November, I really paid for that one, using nearly 30GB that month but hey, that was my fault.  But January has been unusual.  Eight days into the current billing period, I had used 5GB of my plan and on day 9, I had a 2.3GB spike at 4AM (My hardware and I were asleep).  Just after noon on the same day, (while I was at work and not using my hardware) I received two data alerts on my company computer; one at 12:10PM (75%) and one at 1:23PM (90%).  I live in a rural area where my nearest neighbor is out of range of my WiFi network and even if they could get through my firewall, access settings, and password restrictions, the data rate required to create those two alerts would have been (at a minimum) 2.4GB/73m or 6mbps.  That's uninterrupted streaming for 73-minutes!  Sorry, that's out-of-family performance, even for 4G LTE.  I'm almost certain that this is a problem with Verizon's usage monitoring and not representative of my actual usage.  I see a lot of posts about this same issue, so there must be something going on.  I understand Verizon not being too anxious to resolve it because it's very profitable.

    Good day
I heard to learn this the hard way when I got my Z10 & Q10 has the newer OS does not do data compression!
Do you have any apps running in the background? refreshing?
I got app to monitor my usage it was only was $0.99 I got Instagram sideloaded and that was my main source of data being used!
This is the app I'm using

  • I just changed phones and plans and was told the I would NOT see this data usage note again.   Please explain so a 75 year old man can understand.  Thanks  tom C

I just changed phones and data plans and was told that I would NOT a data usage alert again.  I just got one.  What's up with that?

Do you have Wifi at home? Do you do a lot of social media, internet surfing, video etc?  Go to settings/data usage/ and scroll up to see what is consuming your data.   You can restrict any of these apps from data usage by selecting one, then scrolling up and checking "restrict background data" for each app you wish to limit. Ones restricted will still function on wifi if available. Data can be restored to any app by unchecking a checked box.  That's a start.
I keep my S5's data turned off unless I have a particula need when not near wifi. This month I'm near mid way through my billing period and have consumed around 29MB.  Not as much fun for sure but much easier on the wallet.  Caution, public wifi is likely not a secure connection.
You also can set alert and limit levels for data use by your phone on the Data Usage screen of your phone.

  • Does tethering to an iMac affect data usage compared to a standalone iPhone?

Does tethering to an iMac affect data usage compared to a standalone iPhone?

My BB data usage is not too bad, now my Android phone, THAT is where I am getting killed!   However I can say this, my Z10 is NOT as efficient as my 9930 was at data, NOTHING compares to legacy BBs at data usage, but the Z10 is in line and/or better than your typical Android device.  At least in my experience.   Of course I have never used the iphone as a daily driver, or for anything but helping others figure out their phone.

  • BBM data usage

I am about to receive my Blackberry 9650 in the mail. I am concerned about my data usage because it is not unlimited (it is 150 MB/month).
I don't think i will be using Facebook too often, other than to do mobile uploads.
for Twitter i plan on mostly only updating my status maybe once or twice a day.
I DO plan on using a lot of BBM.
How much data can i expect to use?
Regularly, how many MB does BBM use for a very frequent user?
    Thanks in advanced!
PS: if there are any tips that someone can give me for using a Blackberry, i would appreciate it as I am brand new to the BB world!)

I'm not a very frequent BBM user, but I'll try to give you an idea of data usage. I looked back through my last few bills ... the months I used BBM once or twice a day, plus had two email accounts pushed to my BB, I used about 100MB. The most I've used, even with streaming a couple TV shows and a few podcasts, is 213MB/month. This was not using Wi-Fi at all, so if you use Wi-Fi at home -- doing most of your BBM communication that way -- you *may* be fine with 150MB.
I tried the data calculator to see how accurate it is, and it showed I would use quite a bit more than I actually do. As mentioned above, data is compressed, so BlackBerrys do not use as much as other smartphones. Emails and BBM don't use much data; where you start using more is while streaming media. Monitor your usage for a month or two, then decide if you want to upgrade to the unlimited data plan for peace of mind.
Enjoy your new Bold ... great choice, btw!

  • Unusual High Data Usage

During the last billing cycle I have been keeping close watch over my data usage when I noticed a 32.99 MB data usage appear. Today I go back to check my account because I see that my data usage has increased by a substantial amount again. I look back through my data usage and now see all of the data from before has 'magically' changed. The 32.99 MB usage has vanished and all new numbers have appeared. Along with one usage that is marked as 402.41 MB! This is an absurd amount of usage! Can someone explain what is going on with my data usage?
Just to cover some bases: I turn off my Mobile Data when I'm not using it. I use my wireless internet for most of my activity. I do not watch movies or play data dependent games on my phone. I check facebook periodically throughout the day, but almost always while I'm connected to the Wi-Fi.
My biggest concern is that the data usage on my 'My Verizon' page is changing. Not changing with new entries, but changing PREVIOUS entries that I've already viewed and talked to customer support about. My data is building up quickly and it's only the fourth day into my billing cycle. I'm already very concerned. I don't want to have to pay extra by the time the month is up.

We want you to have the best data plan to meet your needs meakerism! What plan do you have currently? What make and model device? How many users on your account? Fluctuation in data usage can occur often. Please be assured we bill accurately. My Verizon usage estimates can delay up to 48 hours. Have you brought these concerns to our attention previously?
