Data Views: Switching from IQ to Crystal: How to?

Hi everyone,
My company is looking to make the switch from IQ Report Writer 5 to Crystal Reports XI or 2008.
We have a couple questions though on how to make this switch easier.
I may need to talk to Business Objects support instead, but I thought I'd try here first.
Our data currently resides in a vision file format which is type of flat file.
Currently with the IQ Writer, we can establish IQ Views, which are essentially just predefined links between the different data tables. A user selects which view they will use for a report, then are able to pick and choose which columns to use from that view. A view may contain many tables, but when the report is generated, it will only access the tables necessary based on the columns selected.
Example: IQ View A constists of Tables A, B, and C. The view is defined as A.Column1 = B.Column1 and B.Column2 = C.Column2. If a user chooses columns from A and B, then the query only runs against tables A and B and doesn't have to process the data from C, which cuts down processing Cost.
Is there any way to create views like this in Crystal Reports XI? I know if we convert to SQL Server (which we have done for some users) we can create SQL Views, but the thing I noticed with SQL Views, was that it ran the query against Tables A, B, and C, even though C wasn't needed and it ended up returning duplicate rows. I could get around the duplicate info with a select distinct statement, but it still had to process the extra info, which increased the cost.

All Photoshop versions through CS6 came with platform-specific licenses, either Windows or PC. You could get a cross-grade of platform swap at a nominal cost but not for older versions, only for whatever Photoshop versions was current at the time.
CS3 is totally out of the upgrade or cross-grade loop. You'd have to buy a new license for CS6 Mac or subscribe to Photoshop CC, as Trevor points out.
Curt Y is correct in that CS2 will not run on current Mac-Intel machines. You would need a used Mac G5 or G4 with a PowerPC (IBM) CPU, which have been obsolete since mid 2006.
Of course, you could run your Windows on your Mac if you installed and ran BootCamp or Parallells.

Switching from status to lccs, how easy is it?

I was just wondering if anyone here had, like me created an application using stratus and then decided to switch to lccs?
How easy is it? Can you just change your connection endpoint and skipp all the rooms etc? or do you basically have to re-write a lot of your code to use the lccs framework?

Hello, like the title says, I switched from Windows to Mac. I purchased the Mac Mini and when I import my movie files from my external hard drive into iTunes, not all are labeled correctly and in the right genre. I want to change the genre and add the cover art but iTunes is coming up gray and will not allow me to change. How can I do this?

Don't import anything.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old comptuer to /Music/ on new computer.
This is all you need to do to copy iTunes.
Everything in iTunes will be exactly as it was on other computer.

See here for the release date. For the serial number the typical format is to have the 4th, 5th, and 6th characters to reference when the product was built. The first character is the year date (Y) and the next two (WW), the week in that year it was made.

Why does my Verizon iPhone 4S Data Service Switch from 3G to 2G as soon as I want to use it for "data-intensive" apps such as Netflix?

I have an iPhone 4S that I purchased new from Verizon back in January 2012. I've started to notice that the 3G data coverage appears and disappears according to whether or not I'm actually using the data. For instance: When the phone is stationary and not using the data, it indicates that I have 3G data coverage. When I click on an app like Netflix (without moving the phone from it's stationary position), data coverage either immediately or soon thereafter switches to a 2G data coverage connection (indicated with an "o" for Verizon). Has anyone else had this same problem? I can't say that this happens everywhere, but in particular, it happens at my work every single time I would like to be able to watch episodes of tv shows on my lunch break.

Yeah I'll need to call and ask because it's very possible that the tower is "congested" as I work in a large city. Hardly seems fair that I would get a diminished data speeds due to congestion of a large city that Verizon indicates it has full coverage on all of their "data coverage" maps. I may have made a different carrier choice had I known that this was going to happen. I wonder if this happens with their 4G towers as well...

I just want to view photos from a CD. How do I do that?

I installed a CD-RW with scanned photos in my disk drive. How do I get the MacBookPro to let me view the photos? VMWare seems to take over with a Windows viewer. Can I disable that & get, maybe iPhoto to let me view those scanned photos? Or Adobe Photoshop (installed on my Mac)? don't know how to do all this.

Both Photoshop and iPhoto are resource hungry and will take awhile to read from the slow optical drive. You are better off seeing if the disc mounts and dragging the pictures to a folder on the desktop. Then you can either import them into iPhoto, browse them with Photoshop or select all, and right click open with Preview.

Also.. When you change recovery model of the database, first thing you do is the full database backup.
This is assure you that you do not loose data because of change in recovery model.

Almost right, without question you need to take a backup if you are changing from Simple to Full; switching between full and bulk logged and vice versa does not affect your point in time recovery options; backing up after switching to Simple is not necessarily
essential but it is advisable.

Purchased Abobe Master Collection CS5 in 2010 and had been using Windows as an operating system since but I'm about to make the switch to OSX. However the download package and serial numbers I purchased are for windows, can I switch to mac download packages and will my serial numbers work for them?

Unfortunately, Creative Suite packages are operating system-specific. Further, platforem swaps are only supported for the mst recent release which is CS6. You can read more about the policy thru the link below:

I purchased Illustrator CS5 in 2011 for my mac. I've now purchased a PC and would like to download to my new machine, but I only have access to download the mac version. How can I download to my new PC?

Unfortunately it's not possible. What you want to do is easy with the Cloud but not with Creative Suites.
Creative Suite serial numbers are specific to your operating system: PC only or Mac only.
There is a platform swap procedure available but it only applies to the current version: CS6. Not CS6.

Just switched from Windows to Mac, how do I back my contacts, texts etc.?

I've been synching my iPhone to my Windows XP laptop for over a year for everything. I have backups of my phone on my Windows laptop which came in handy when I got a replacement iPhone and put all the contacts, texts etc. from my old one onto the new one.
I recently bought a new Macbook because my old laptop was dying on me. I don't want to sync my phone with 2 computers at the same time, I want my Macbook to be what I use for everything. Using an external HD I transfered all my music and videos over to the Macbook, and they're good to go in iTunes.
When I connect my iPhone to the Macbook, it doesn't give me an option to create a backup of the phone. This is very important if my phone ever decides to die and I get another one and easily sync it back with iTunes. If I decide to restore the phone with the Macbook, will it create a backup before it wipes it?

If you have access to a Windows machine, install the program iTools (it's a chinese app, but it has an English ver.).
Connect your 5C via USB and open this app. You will see your 5C info. Go to the Applications tab.
Now, this software has an option to backup your apps WITH all your scores and configurations.
It will make generate an .ipa file on your computer.
Now unplug your 5C and plug in your new 5S.
With iTools, install that .ipa file into your 5S phone. The game will have transferred all your info.
This is all assuming you are using the same iCloud account on both phones (since it's assigned to your game app).
Let me know if you get stuck at any step and need more detailed instructions

Can the XE Utility to load data be called from a button?

Although it wasn't designed with XE it should work just fine.

Cannot see data in BSO from transparent ASO partition

I have 2 cubes: BSO (target) and ASO (source).
BSO should show data from ASO corresponding element "Fact" from dimension "Scenario".
I can see the data using ASO directly, but I cannot see data viewing it from BSO using transparent partition...

When you have the data in the ASO( i.e source cube) ,it should reflect in the BSO ( i.e destination) . I am sure there is problem with the transparent partition ,you had created .Validate and share more info of error ( if you encounter during partition creatino) , that should be resourceful
