  • CS2-installing error "data1.cab" file corrupt

I have recently reformatted my C drive and reinstalling programs.
I tried to reinstall my CS2 Photoshop, but received error message that the "data1.cab" file was corrupt or missing. Could not install program.
I don't know how to fix. Could someone please help?
    Thanks,
    mmspry

from a disc? try to copy the photoshop folder from the disc to the desktop, then run setup from there. however, you might have a bad drive or a bad disc. if the setup from the desktop fails, try installing on another machine. if it still fails, the disc probably has a problem. if that works, maybe your drive needs replacing.

  • Data1.cab is corrupted

I cannot install lightroom as the data1.cab file is corrupted.
Can anyone tell me a way round this  problem?
    Dave

You can try solution 6 and 7 in Error 1311, 1335, or 2350 "Source file not found...data1.cab" when installing Adobe products | Windows.  Those solutions are aimed at the Windows Installer Service as being a possible cause.  I do think it is more likely that the data1.cab file is corrupted but they are still worthwhile steps to try.

  • How do I address error 1335, Data1.cab is corrupt, to install?

I have Photoshop Premiere 8 and would like to install it on my new computer Windows 8. I receive error message 1335 during installation. I have downloaded Photoshop files 3 times, followed web instructions to try again and again (e.g. disabled start up files and services files, deleted old copies, re-started, etc.).  Actually I have had this problem ever since I bought Version 8 but did not use it as I did not need it (managed with easier programs). Now I need it and still cannot install it. Program was bought online from Adobe.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 fails to install. Premiere Elements 8 loaded as expected.

  • Corrupt Data1.cab in Oracle Express 10g Universal  for Windows

    Hello Oracle Folks,
I downloaded several times Oracle Express 10g Universal for Windows (OracleXEUniv.exe) and tried to install it and I get every time the same error message: "Error 1335. The required file "Data1.cab" is corrupt and cannot be used ...". When I download the Western European Edition (OracleXE.exe) the installation works! I downloaded the file on different local disks to exclude the risk that my disk is damaged.
Can you please check if this download is sane!
Thanks and best regards Thomas Mayr

    Amazing reply Hans.
I have seen some arrogent smart mouth answers in my time. But this really takes the cake. Also judging from the icon you are some kind of employee of oracle. Wow! Now that shows respect for your users.
Sorry to disappoint you - I am not an employee of Oracle. Much of your rant is irrelevant.
I am simply a person who has volunteered enough time to provide over 8,000 repsonses in these forums and many more in other forums.
Many, many, many of the questions are pure repetition due to the extreme laziness, incompetence or inability to do basic thinking by the questioners. There are also a lot of questions by 'newbies' who have obviously made an attempt to research the problem.
My approach to answering questions is simple and two-fold:
    - make the person angry enough, or aware ennough, that they will think a bit when asking the next question;
    - if they ask a question intelligently (http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html) I usually am convinced to help.
(And yes, I do take longer breaks when I find myself being frustrated enough to provide answers like the above.)
The stupid installation program for your stupid database was supposed to check the version of the Operating System. Anyway how does the operating system version matter if a cab file is corrupted? which was incidently packed in that stupid download link which you have happily given to all customers all this time. I was hoping to find that since you guys are too lazy to make the installation file properly you might have atleast bothered to put up a download link for that stupid Data1.cab. But nooo... The 'stupid installation program' is indeed that - a stupid installation program. It does a certain amount of checking, but definitely not enough. In that I do agree with you. It was also released too early - basrely understands how to spell Vista.
Also, there is an assumption by Oracle that the person downloading reads the documentation, especially the installation guide, that is available at the same location as the download. It is amazing and extremely disappointing to note how many people will not even attempt to look at the link.
The real sad part for me is that I frequently download software (and did again in this case) to verify that the user has a legitimate complaint. The 'data1.cab' that I received was not corrupt. Therefore I conclude the original poster made some huge assumption that is likely invalid. Now, I did install into an XP machine, and that could make a difference.
As for the 'you guys' statement - perhaps you should take that up with Oracle or an Oracle employee. Directing at me is an unsubstantiated assumption on your part. <g>
    >
I wasted some time thinking I would check out the db for development, got the same error and after seeing your mealy mouthed response to that poor guy who was asking a valid question, I think I won't bother anymore. You see, there is this amazing thing called Linux and MySQL..
Yup. You could easily go there. Shows yet another assumption. (In fact, my company is centered around Linux and Oracle. And I have made a conscious decision, based on 3 decades of experience, to toss MySQL and stick with Oracle. And now that Sun, which owns MySQL, seems to be on the auction block, the future of MySQL is definitely up in the air.)
However, given how many assumptions you make and how valid they are, you may find it easier to stick with MySQL. Oracle Express edition potentially could save huge buckets of time and effort in the long run, but it does require reading, research and other skills to get up to speed.
    Now, as to your problem
    1) This is not the forum to discuss issues with installation. (If the problem is traced to the download source, then this is the right spot.)
    2) There is a dedicated forum for Oracle Database 10g Release 2 Express Edition (Oracle Database Express Edition (XE)
    3) You are absolutely correct that the installer should be smart enough to check the OS. It does not.
    4) Since it does not, and since there are differences, knowing which version AND edition of Windows (or which Linux distro and release) is critical to troubleshooting.

  • Acrobat 8 Standard - Data1.cab Corrupt

I've been trying to get Acrobat 8 Standard installed on my Vista desktop.  At first, I was having problem with the PDF writer print driver, but in trying to resolve that, I have developed another problem.  I uninstalled Acrobat, and was trying to re-install it, but have had the installation interrupted each time I've tried, apparently because the Data1.cab is corrupt.  I tried making a copy of the CD, but got the same results.  I then tried copying the entire contents to my C: drive, then running the setup app, with the same results.
It's odd that I'm experiencing this problem now, since I had previously installed it on this desktop with mostly successful results (other than the print driver issue).
Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Todd

Quick update on this.  I tried once more to install Acrobat, and this time it seemed to work.  The app itself seems to work ok, as far as I can tell, but I'm back to my original problem of the print driver not working.  I have another posting for this problem, so I'll switch over to that posting.

  • Acrobat 10 data1.cab corrupt

    Adobe Acrobat ver. 10.0.3
    Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit) OS
    English
I have been trying to update to Acrobat 10.1, but the update keeps failing with the following message:
Error 1334. The file 'ia32.ppi' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'PCW_CAB_ACRO1010'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM or a problem with this package.
I thought repairing the installation might help, but that also failed with a similar error:
Error 1334.The file 'zy______.pfm' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data 1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM or a problem with this package.
After seeing a similar question in http://forums.adobe.com/message/3740605, I tried to follow the instructions to create a new AIP by doing the following:
    1. msiexec /a <path of AcroPro.msi for 10.0> TARGETDIR <path where you want to create AIP>
    2. cd to the AIP folder
    3. msiexec /a <AcroPro.msi> /p <path of .msp file (AcrobatUpd1010.msp)>
But at step #1, I get the following error message:
Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
What would be the best way to resolve this problem and apply the Acrobat 10.1 update?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
    -David

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I don't have Carbonite installed on my machine, so that isn't the cause of my particular issue.
I decided to try what seemed most straightforward: simply copying data1.cab from my Acrobat X installation media and replacing the file on my machine. This seems to have worked and enabled me to apply the 10.1 update without error.
I have no idea what could have caused data1.cab to become corrupt.

  • PSE12 install: Error 1335, Data1.cab corrupt

    PSE12 install: Error 1335, Data1.cab corrupt
Install from online purchase with download, all remedies are relevant to CD-ROM?!
How do I get my money back?

    great.  for others:
if you follow all 7 steps, you can download a trial via one of the links on this page using a browser that accepts cookies:  http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-12-direct-download-links-premiere.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a download problem (eg, you see an error page or you are offered an incorrect version), you probably didn't follow all 7 steps.  typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that (a restrictive browser setting) is another potential source of problems.

Xandrex, I am having the same problem (along with a few others).  I hate to sound like a novice, but how do I decompress into a folder other than temp?  Whether installing from the website, or saving to my desktop and then installing, it unzips without giving me a choice of where to put the files.
    Hello,
I don't have the install at home so my answer will be approximate. when you get the .exe file, it is in fact a zip file with a small launcher that knows it has to unzip the stuff in your temp file.
What you need is a decompression tool to decompress without that launcher. You can install 7Zip that is quite good for those things.
You can also try WinZIP or winRAR or winACE but those are not free-of-charge.
     http://www.7-zip.org/
Once you have installed this tool, just open 7Zip and browse to the .exe file. click on it, there should be a button "Extract". Choose a folder (somewhere on your Desktop for example) and wait for the decompression to finish.

  • Data1.cab error

I cannot install Acrobat Pro ver 6.0 as I keep getting a data1.cab error. It says the cab is corrupt. I have tried to extract the files and indeed there is a corrupt file in the cab. Can I download a cab file for this version or is there something else going on???

It should install on XP. Apparently you do have a corrupt file. As long as you registered AA6 with Adobe, they may be able to help you. They will not discuss the issue if you have not registered or prove you purchased the product.
