  • Unable to schedule a job from the Jobs Library

    Hi,
    I have created and stored a job in the Job Library, however when I try and submit it to run with a schedule and against specified targets Grid just seems to hang, and eventually it comes back with "Application server is not responding". I have set it up as a sql script and used a PL/SQL block, I have tested the script outside of Grid and it works fine. I have tried using prefered credentials and override credentials, but this makes no difference.
    I am running OEM 10g Release 3 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 4)
    Anybody had anything similar?

    Thanks for the reply. Tested connectivity to both databases from Grid all looks good. Attempted to set up a job individually for each db and it hung on both, again I tried using default credentials and override credentials.

  • Solaris 10 patches for Oracle Database 11gR2

    Hi,
    I downloaded Oracle Solaris 10 s/w from e-Delivery and got it installed. For Oracle Database 11gR2 I also need the followging patches:
    120754-06: SunOS 5.10_x86 libmtsk
    119961-05: SunOS 5.10_x86: Assembler
    119964-14: SunOS 5.10_x86 Shared library patch for C++_x86
    Though we have access to MyOracleSupport we can only download s/w patches using our support contract with Oracle and not OS patches.
    Is there any other way I can get these patches.
    Rgds,
    Thiru.

    Thiru,
    You won't find the patches in the patches/ directory on the DVD or the ISO image. Oracle integrates the patches directly into the packages, so there is no need to provide or install them separately.
    All patches have a patch number (e.g. 120754) and a revision (e.g. 06). A newer revision of a patch always contains all fixes of the previous revisions. So try to run "showrev -p | grep 120754" instead, and you'll see that patch 120754-08 is pre-installed. As revision 08 is newer/higher than 06, the patch requirement is satisfied.
    Hope that helps,

  • AW database for a public library?

    Hello,
    i'm trying to set up an AW database for a small library in a nice
    little village in France. AW 6.2.8 and OS 9.2.2 on an iMac 350 Mhz.
    I already have the data entry for books and library users,
    now i need to develop a borrowing system for the users.
    I am working with a french version of AW and i do not know
    enough french to find out about the next step.
    It would be helpful if someone knows if AW has enough power
    to be used for this task. A change to FM Pro is not possible, unfortunately.
    Does anybody know about templates for small libraries?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thx in advance,
    Franz
    eMac 1,25, 768, 10.4.8

    Hi Franz,
    Much as I love it, I wouldn't suggest AppleWorks for this task. AW's database module produces flat file databases, and although these can be wrestled into submission wrt managing a library, they're not the best tool for the job.
    A second strike against AppleWorks is its openness—anyone using the database is allowed to edit it. That can lead to a lot of accidental changes to the data (as well as allowing deliberate changes).
    As mentioned in the previous post in this thread, this is a task better suited to a relational DB application. I'd go further, and say you should consider a pre-built solution designed for the purpose. You'll find short descriptions and links to the publishers of a number of these in the Made4Mac pages on apple.com. Search in One that caught my eye, partly because of the low price for the basic ("light") version was Athenaeum Light. Information and a downloadable 60 day demo available at:
    http://www.sumware.co.nz/athenaeum/light.php
    Another, and the only one on the list that I'm familiar with and would recommend, is Library 4 Universal (L4U), which is used in the school district in which I taught prior to retiring two years ago. I don't know the price, which like most library software prices, depends on the number of libraries, patrons or items in the collection. Information and a demo available on theri site:

    Hello,
    I have Oracle Linux 5.5 with Oracle's Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel.
    what do I need to have/prepare to install Oracle database 11gR2 on it?
    the hardware part and the partitions are done!
    1-
    Do I need to install/run Oracle Validated Configuration RPM? even if I have Oracle's Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel?
    if yes does in means the Oracle's Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel does not prepare/configure the system to host database?
    2-
    With any of the above
    do I still need create or edit the /etc/sysctl.conf file, and add or edit lines similar to the following:
    fs.aio-max-nr = 1048576
    fs.file-max = 6815744
    kernel.shmall = 2097152

    I saw allot of docs out there, but none answered these questions!
    so please do not post docs or links to a general sites!
    Thank you for the help

    The intention of Oracle UEK is quite obviously Oracle specific, so I think it is legitimate to ask why not to include the Oracle specific kernel configuration file. The UEK is a drop-in replacement for the existing kernel. Why would we include the oracle-validated configuration options into the kernel package when we already have a perfectly good oracle-validated RPM that can be used with both kernels? Also, the UEK may be Oracle specific, but it's not database specific. Keep in mind that Oracle has thousands and thousands of products. :) I run the UEK on lots and lots of servers, many of which don't run database and many of which have completely different /etc/sysctl.conf configurations.
    The list of available packages and add-on's at http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL5/5/base/x86_64/ is growing. So perhaps it's just a matter of continued development.
    Not sure what the point of this statement is: there are no plans to incorporate the oracle-validated configuration into the kernel, as it already exists in oracle-validated.

    Hi, group.
    im quite new to oracle and in my new company i get the goal to make the things run better and faster as the old DBA got fired.
    I want to make a job in OEM which back up the whole DB once a day, but every time i want to submit ( i hope this is the right word i use , my english is very bad ) the job from the job-library to the job queue i get the error VD-2 : Systemerror is occured.
    I dont know what this error message means. i took a look in the OEM Error Message Guide but i didn find anything.
    Can somebody please help my. because my CIO get wilder and wilder as the system completely stuck an i get in many troubles if i couldnt fix the errors fast.
    Arek

    Hi
    Well that is the error message that it displays. I am not sure why LCM looks for that SAP system, maybe to check the rights. Anyway, remove the SAP system from your CMC and the LCM job should work.

  • Does Veridata have Agent for oracle database 11gr2 on linux?

    Hi,
    Does veridata have agent for oracle database 11gr2 on linux? From the edelivery.oracle.com, I just found the latest version is 10.2. When I installed the 10.2 version agent for oracle database 11gr2, the agent needs libnnz10.*. Does 10.2 version agent support for 11gr2 database? Thank you.

  • Aperture doesn't want to start due to "an error in  the opening of the database of my AP Library"

    Hello,
    I have a huge problem, I work a lot with Aperture and one day, without any previous crash, it then refused to start. When I click on the app icon an message comes right after the aplibrary loading to tell me that "an error in  the opening of the database of my AP Library occurred", the label of the windows is a "Warning" But there is not anything I can do but click on "quit the programm" . I REALLY need Help !  Will I loose all my pictures ? What Will happen to my aplibrary if i uninstall Aperture ? Is there any hope ? Will my actual APlibrary work on a different Aperture ?
    Thanks in advance !
    I'm working on it on a MBPro

    Hello leonie,
    This is what I see, when I try to open up my aperture :
    I can't do anything else but quit...
    Is there a crashlog with the error panel?
    I'm sorry I don't understand exactly what you mean by that...
    For your questions, I did not install any new/other software recently, just uploaded some music or photos via different platforms, from the internet to my computer. But I did not had the time to import them in aperture. And I did not use any maintainance program in the last year ! I guess that the very big majority of my aperture photos are JPEG, and it might be that there is a few PNG but that's it... And my (38,8 GO) library is located only on my MBP. And I have the 3.4.3 version of aperture
    Thanks a lot for your help !

  • CREATE REPORT FROM JOB LIBRARY

    Hi Everyone,
    I have created the job and saved in job library, and just want to create report from that job, am not able to find any option in that report.
    In breif,
    Created job - host command ( for ex : ls -tr)
    saved to job Library
    After that i just want to take report and send to everybody to the ouput...
    Please let me know is there any choice...
    Regards
    K

    So, you now have a report in your job library. To run it, you will need to schedule it..
    Edit the report, go to Schedule tab,
    - check the "Schedule Report" checkbox
    - specify when you want to run the report (now, later etc..)
    - check the "Email report each time scheduled report completes" checkbox
    - specify email addresses under Email report.

  • Export Job Library from old OMS...

    All,
    I want to build a new (fresh) repostory but I don't want to lose all of the jobs and custom metrics.
    Regarding jobs, is there a clean method for exporting the Job Library data (tables: mgmt_job*) so I can import them into our new repository DB. I have been considering an export of SYSMAN or a data_pump export of mgmt_job* tables. Does anyone have any experience or insight?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Rich

    No, you are unable to export the Job Library

    I have tied reverting the shell limits back to the default with no change in the results.
    However I am having some trouble with the projmod command, my projid for the oracle user is “default” not “group.dba” and when I set the system parameters the #cat /etc/project returns the following:
    system:0::::
    user.root:1::::
    noproject:2::::
    default:3::::project.max-shm-memory=(priviledge,2147483648,deny)
    group.staff:10::::
    When I check the values they are all right except for the projid… do you think this will cause a problem?
    Also I have attempted to edit my shell startup file as per setup documentation however I cannot open /usr/sh with a text editor am I trying to edit the wrong file? I searched for .profile and could only find setup.profile because of this I cannot set the unmask value to 022.
    I am also having issues running xclock wail signed in as the oracle user I have the DISPLAY variable set properly and I can access xclock wail logged into the root user. The installer checks the monitor’s ability to run at the minimum 256 colors using xdpyinfo and returns an error saying that my DISPLAY variable may be set wrong… xdpyinfo runs fine wail logged onto the root user. I think fixing this problem may help a lot.

  • Job library

    Can anyone tell me how to make sure the jobs currently stored in the OEM version 9i can be migrated to 10g when it is installed??

    Hi,
    The job library has the job definition saved, incase you have saved it in library. If you do so, then you can create jobs with 'Create like' option. But I believe your concern is more of how to find the jobs that have already run. If so, From the jobs tab > Job Activity. , click on 'Advanced' and do a search based on name or status. Hope this helps.

  • Certification of Oracle Linux 6 with Oracle Database 11gR2?

    Dear Oracle Corporation,
    You released Oracle Database 11gR2 in September, 2009.
    Then, you released Oracle Linux 6 on 12 Feb 2011.
    Then, you released Oracle Linux 6.1 on 1 Jun 2011.
    Then, you released Oracle Linux 6.2 on 20 Dec 2011.
    And, here we are on 21 Feb 2012, and you still have not certified Oracle Database 11gR2 (your most recent and up to date version of the database that's currently available!) with Oracle Linux 6!
    You think you'll get around to that, any time soon?
    All my love,
    -Mark

    Hi Hans;
    Thanks for answer ;)
    Because it is not a certifiaction issue. It is a timing issue, and that is in the hands of the legal department. Support can do absolutely nithing about it, and if they indicate a date, the Support Analyst will likely get fired.Please imagine, let us say my company always prefer to work lastest version of server,oracle products and also OS because of company policy. If I want to use 11gR2 with lastest version there is no problem. Because Oracle suggest to use lastest oracle version because of new futures wiht less bugs. So in my company happy with to use lastes oracle products and my company always want to work oracle linux. Big bosses ask the manager " Why we are still using old OEL 5.x version, there are already new products avaliable at market, If oracle 5.x perfect why they made annoucement new products, If they not certified wiht their other products why they create new OS, is it bad to use *nix 6 instead of 5?
    So I wonder thah question and Dont I have a right to get to find some answers from oracle which I pay xxx$million dolar each year for their products and their metalink support.
    So if its timing issue and let us say again I am only using windows not any other OS. Why oracle publish same product for different OS? If its timing issue than there are huge difference between annoucement
