Database 817 is not starting on computer restart
Hi all ..
I installed an Oracle server ver. 817 on Windows 2000 server. The problem is when I restart the computer ,after instalation, and I try to logon to database from SQL-PLUS I get the following errors:
ora 01034 - Oracle not available
ora 27101 - Shared memory realm does not exists
If I enter in server manager, connect with internal/oracle as sysdba and I run <startup> comand the database is starting.
Can anybody gine me a solution to start the database on computer restart??
Thx in advance !
Ovidiu
Is your oracleservice start type is automatic or manual? If it is automatic, then you dont need to startup again when you reboot your system.

Firefox will not start after computer restart
Install Firefox, runs fine. Restart computer, Firefox will not start or finally when it tries to start script errors occur. If I reinstall Firefox after a computer restart, it will work fine, again when the computer is shut down the next time it is started, will not be able to use Firefox. Firefox will not start up in Firefox safe mode, will not start in windows safe mode. Not add on's, nothing added, just the Firefox installer Performed complete system restore on the computer, same problem. Windows 7 Pro. Remove Firefox from windows control panel, restart computer, install firefox, will run. turn off computer, turn on computer, firefox will not start or freezes. I am interfacing the internet via Explorer now.
I have reinstalled Firefox so it will run in order to perform the steps requested below.Try this

Open TaskManager, if it running '''firefox.exe''' > end all processes
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

Hi at all.... I'm a newbie with database oracle.,
I have the follow problem:
I installed Oracle Database 11g R2 XE on my guest operating system CentOS 6.5.
I have changed the hostname in my SO CentOS (where is installed oracle 11g R2 XE) after installation was completed successfully.
-) Before and during installation the hostname was localhost.
-) After installation I changed the hostname in VMCentOS
From the moment I changed the hostname, nothing starts up automatically. In particular, the listener and the database instance does not starts up automatically.
When I starts up the listener manually and I try to connect to database instance with SQLPLUS i get this error:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
I think that the problem is due to the changed hostname because I, for testing and debugging purpose, re-installed a new OS CentOS virtual machine, re-installed oracle database 11g and I have not got that problem. The database instance and the listener starts up automatically!
Can any one tell me if maybe the problem is related to the hostname changed? ... and Why?
P.S.: After changed the hostname I have also modified the listener.ora and the tnsnames.ora by modifying the HOST with the correct hostname.-) Output of command chkconfig (there isn't any line oracle-xe 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off):

Will not start, have to restart computer each time
Browser will not start. I have to restart my computer each time to use the fire fox browser.
This just happened a few days ago. It's very frustrating.
I recently downloaded new updates for fire fox.IOS: Syncing with iTunes

Firefox will not start when computer is restarted.
When I shut down or restart my computer, Firefox will not start. I will click the shortcuts, but nothing happens. There is no error message and as far as I know from searching, I have no security applications prohibiting it from starting. Once I reinstall after my computer loads, it works perfectly. How can I fix this so I don't have to reinstall Firefox daily when I turn on my computer?
Hello ShirodieSchone, try to run Firefox once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).
also, if the above doesn't work, see if you can start firefox in [http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode#os=win7&browser=fx19 safe mode] by by holding down the shift key while starting Firefox.
Otherwise try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) and see if that helps.
thank you -
How Do I Correct FF GUI From Not Opening After Computer Restart
Every time I restart my Win8 and then FF, the FF GUI does not open (i.e. the browser window does not appear) although Task M shows FF as running. Only work around so far is to re-install FF (obviously using another browser to access the download install site). I tried disabling all add-ins and this had no affect. Even if I exit FF before restarting the computer, the same issue occurs. If I exit FF but do not restart the computer, FF will re-start normally, meaning the browser window appears.
This started occurring a couple of weeks ago. At that time I did a System Restore back to a point before it started happening and that did not correct the issue.
I also uninstalled FF keeping my settings but the issue remained when I re-installed FF. I even went to the extreme of uninstalling and not keeping my settings and then reinstalling and adding my add-ins and setting my options (a couple hours of work) and the issue still remained.
Once it is open I see no problems with it or any add-ins.Hi,
From your issue description I understand that, you are unable to open any applications and the computer freezes.
I can imagine the inconvenience you have experienced. Don’t worry; we will certainly help you.
I would appreciate if you could answer the following question:
1. What is the make and model of your computer?
2. Did you receive the windows 8 preinstalled with the computer?
3. What happens when you try to perform Refresh or Reset? Do you receive nay error messages?
Let’s try some steps before performing Refresh or Reset.
Follow these methods and check if it fixes the issue.
Method 1: Run the Performance troubleshooter and check if the issue persists.
Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:
a. Press Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the Charms bar.
b. Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting under Settings.
c. Now type Performance Troubleshooter in the search option.
d. Click on Performance troubleshooter to run the troubleshooter.
Method 2: Start your computer in safe mode and check if the computer freezes.
Step 1: Refer this link to start the computer in safe mode.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode
If it works fine in safe mode, perform clean boot.
Step 2: Perform clean boot.
Clean boot will help us identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.
To do this, follow steps from this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
NOTE: After checking the functionality in clean boot, configure Windows to use Normal startup. Refer step 3 from the above link for details.
Method 3: Restore your PC to an earlier point in time.
a. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
b. (If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.) Enter Recovery in the search box, tap or click Settings, and then tap or click Recovery.
c. Tap or click Open System Restore, and follow the prompts.
To perform refresh, or reset, refer to this link: How to restore, refresh, or reset your PC
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc
Refresh Warning: The apps that came with your PC or you installed from Windows Store will be reinstalled, but any apps you installed from other websites and DVDs will be removed. Windows puts a list of the removed apps on your desktop after refreshing your PC.
Reset Warning: All of your personal files will be deleted and your settings will be reset. Any apps the came with your PC will be reinstalled, but all other apps will be removed.
Hope this helps. If the issue persists or any Windows related queries or issues related to Windows Operating system, please get back to us. We are here to assist you. -
Pavillion G72 Synaptics TouchPad will not start from a restart or a cold bbot.
After the broken LCD screen was replaced the Synaptics TouchPad will not start up. I deinstalled and reinstalled driver 15.3.29.0 downloaded from the HP driver web site. The icon will not display. In the ICon Notification Area settings, when I choose "show icon and notifications" the response is a message that the icon is inactive.
If I click on the the shortcut in the startup folder for SynTPEnh.exe the icon displays, disables the TouchPad becasue it detects the wireless mouse (as selected in the checkbox). After a system restart or cold boot it does not run.
In System Configuration, whereas all programs start as C:\Program Files\... , the one for SynTPEnh.exe dislays as C:\PROGRA~1\SYNAPT... Is this the problem/
I found the same at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run but editing that to match the other programs made no difference.
What do I need to do to make SynTPEnh.exe start up?
Thank youRunning OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
Note also that the Synaptics TouchPad is not listed on the Control Panel under Adjust Your Computer's Settings as. Should show up as Synaptics TouchPad V7.5 -

EAR project not starting after server restart.
Hello all,
I have made a plain EAR project that contains a WAR file which again contains some servelets and static stuff like images and JavaScript files. The project does not use any SAP specific functionality and is hence a regular J2EE EAR project that in theory could run on all compliant J2EE servers.
The problem is that when the server restarts the project does not start (not even lazily, that is upon a request being made to it). In other words I have to start it manually by using Visual Administrator or redeploying. Naturally this approach is not a long term solution.
In the application-j2ee-engine.xml file of the EAR project I have tried to set the parameter start-up to always with no luck as documented here:
The server is a 7.0 sp 14.
I have succesfully deployed the project on older servers with no problems.
Any ideas?Hi,
Undeploy your application from SAP AS Java, e.g. via Visual Admin, and then redeploy it. If it does not start automatically, start it manually from VA. Check if you restart the server, the application is also started up correctly.
Besides that, does your application depends on another application, library, or service? (i.e. uses another appllication, library or service)
If so, did you explicitly declared this relation via the reference tag in application-j2ee-engine.xml ?
Kind regards,
Tsvetomir -
My MBP will not start up after restart
My MBP (late 2011 running 10.8.something - receintly updated) will not start up after I had to do a restart to install Blackberry Desktop software (for my wife, I promise). It chimes, gets past the grey screen with the Apple logo and then just sits on the login screen but with the background only, no account or anything. My mouse pointer is there and moves but nothing else. Anyone have any idea?
Reboot holding the Shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this is Safe Mode and will disable the at boot kernel extension file that Blackberry installed.
When you get in uninstall the software using their uninstaller. Then reboot normally again, visit their website for a update if there is one.
Blackberry/RIM software has been causing issues around here lately.
If your machine refuses to boot normally again, then run through this list 1-8,, by #8 your machine should be booting normally again.

I am running itunes on a 64 bit computer with Windows 7 installed. The only way I can get itunes to open is to restart my computer. Restarting doesn't always work but that is the only option I have. I can find no problems with my system except this one. All my other programs seem to run and open OK. Any suggestions would be helpful. I am running the latest version of itunes. This issue is on my desktop. I also own an Acer Laptop that is also beginning to act up in the same way.
Have you checked to see whether the App Store appis hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps being set 'on' ?
