Database Adapter: How to Insert when one column is an identity column

Hi everyone
I'm developing a BPEL process who uses a database adapter to insert a row in a table of an SQL Server database. The problem is that the database adapter tries to insert a null value into the field that is the primary key of the table so the process fails. This is because I don't want to specify any value to this field because this field is specified in sql server as an identity column so this field doesn't need to have a value provided.
I suppose the only solution is to set the database adapter to not insert any value to this field but how can i do that? is there any way to make the database adapter to insert data in only a few fields of a table and not in all fields, trying to insert null in these fields that no data have been provided?

In JDev->Applications Navigator->your project->Application Sources->Toplink->toplink_mappings.
Upon selecting "toplink_mappings" in the structure window you will see the package. Expand to see your tables. Double click your table and it will open file in main area. Select your field that has identity column. And at the botton you will see "Use Sequencing" check box make sure you uncheck it.
This will solve your problem.

How can I sort one column of words and not have it affect the other columns? I have opened the inspector to the edit columns and rows under Table. It will sort the column, but then it changes the other colums as well. I know that if I use Numbers, it will work, but I want to know how to do the same thing in Pages.

Numbers sorts full rows on values in selected column(s). The technique for sorting a single column is essentially the same as Jerry is describing for Pages tables—separate the (data in the) column to be sorted, sort it, return it to the table.
In Numbers the actual column may be separated from the original table, sorted, then returned. In Pages, the data must be extracted, sorted, then pasted back in, overwriting the unsorted data (if it was left in the original table).
iWork tables follow a database model in which each row is a Record, and each column holds a Field within the records.
As evidenced by the current question (and several similar questions arising in the Numbers community) that model doesn't apply to the way some users, especially some who come in from the MS Excel world, use tables.
With Excels model—islands of data on a single large table, the ability to sort one or a selected few columns of data makes sense. One 'island' may comprise only cells AA21:AH50. Sorting that small 'table' should be possible without disturbing the rest of rows 21-30, which are probably part of one or more other 'data islands' in the sea that is a MS Excel spreadsheet.
In Numbers, each of those 'islands' would be a separate Table, and that Table would be sortable without disturbing other Tables in the document.

The criteria is:
Type should always flow F->T
if current abs(amount)> next abs(amount) then groupid = 'PD'
if current abs(amount)< next abs(amount) then groupid = 'PI'
there is no case when those amounts will be equals
where current(custid) = next(custid) and current(service) = next(service) and groupid is null

You said you were using SQL 2012, but apparently you are not. The LAG function was added in SQL 2012. This solution works on SQL 2005 and SQL 2008:

This is another solution. Suppose your actual table's name is test(which has the redundant data). create a table like this:

If you have a huge amount of data in your original table this solution may take a long time to do what you need.

How to combine a one columns into 1?

I am using Oracle 8i,
I want to know that how to combine a one columns into 1 row:
For example:
ITEM_NO NAME
01 ABC
01 CDE
Result Set:
ITEM_NO NAME
01 ABC; CDE
I have try to use "SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH" this function, however, that function can use in Oracle 9i or 10g, NOT 8i.

We have installed FIM MA with an account that have all the sufficient rights.It got created successfully and worked for Full Import and Full Sync. But, due to some version incompatabilities, we have installed a patch.PFB link for the patch.

Now, we are trying to refresh the schema of FIM MA. While doing that we are facing an error "Failed to connect to database". The user account with which we are connecting has read and write permissions on DB.In the event viewer some errors are

Hello,
seems to me that you maybe only updated the syncengine but not portal/webservice.
I had that error once after an recovery from scratch and forgot one of the hotfixes to apply to all services.

Database Adapter: exposing multiple operations using one PartnerLink

Hi,
I use the Database Adapter for accessing stored procedures in a package.
Using the wizard, I am able to specify a PartnerLink for one procedure in my package. However, the same package (my 'business service') contains multiple procedures I want to expose and call, preferably via the same PartnerLink.
Is this possible?
If so, what is the best strategy, e.g. use the wizard multiple times and merge the resulting wsdl files?

How do you do that?
I specifically want to Poll a table, with the wizard it doesn't give you any options to edit the query, I suppose you go into the generated files and edit the query that way?
As it happens I have actually worked around my specific issue using XSLT functions, I was actaully trying to convert DB2 JD Edwards dates using this table lookup) but once I understood how the date format is stored it was simple enough to do in XSLT.
However I'm still interested to know how this is done as I may have another requirement that requires SQL joining to the same table twice.

I want to make only one column (Column 0) of my JTable non reorderble.
I also want to make the same column non resizable and I want to give it a specific size.

I have implemented a RowHeaderTable class which displays 1, 2, 3, ... in the first column. The column is in the scrollpane's RowHeaderView, so it is not resizable nor reorderable. But its width can be set in your code. Maybe this is what you need.
Use the class the same way you use a JTable, except 3 added methods:
getScrollPane();
setMinRows(int r);
setRowHeaderWidth(int w);
Note: The table works perfectly in skinless L&F, such as the default java L&F. It looks ugly in Liquid L&F because I don't know how to steal column header's UI to use on a JList. If someone can help me on this one, I thank you in advance.

11g Database Adapter: How to make queries using LIKE with % (possible bug?)

Sorry if this has been answered before, but the forum search ignores '%' so I could not find anything relevant. I'm completely at a loss here guys so any help will be really appreciated.
I've got a database adapter that executes a "pure SQL" query:

When I execute my bpel passing 'sup' as nameParam and nameParam2, everything is right and I get my supplier1 in the results.
BUT if I pass 'asdfghj' as name, I still get my 'supplier1' in the results ¿¿¿???
¿Is this a bug? ¿Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance!!

And no matter what I pass as nameParam, I always GET ALL THE RECORDS in my table. ¿Any idea what's going on? It's like param is being ignored and the query that is executed is select * from supplier t WHERE t.name like '%%' which would of course return everything in the DB. :(

How about the following workaround? Don't have a Mac available at the moment, so it's a bit experimental.
Do a "Paste with current style" in TextEdit of the entire table. (Fingers crossed, that should preserve the tab formatting of the entire table). Now copy the entire-table-stuff from TextEdit into a spreadsheet application like Numbers or Excel. Fingers crossed it'll show up in the spreadsheet as a table. Delete the extra columns from the table in the spreadsheet. Copy the single column back into TextEdit, delete the entire table-stuff. Klunky (assuming it works), but probably quicker than entering cells one at a time from Safari into TextEdit
Suggesting doing it this way, because if you try copying an entire table directly from Safari into the speadsheet, it's got a nasty habit of stashing all the columns into a single column, which is not immediately helpful. If you're using Numbers on the Mac, it might be worth checking in over at the Numbers community to see if they've got workarounds for converting a "single-column-mess" produced by pasting from Safari into Numbers into a proper table. (I think Yvan might have a script for that, but I'm not sure.)

How to insert from one table to another (multiple columns to single column)

I want to insert data from table1 into table2 and the data looks in 3 columns as below

How do you want to handle nulls? If there is a null in any value of a column, do you want to insert it?

Have you tried inserting a text box? If not, click on View > Show Layout to enter the layout view. Click in the gray margin area to make your cursor disapppear. Then click on Insert > Text. The box will be defined as Fixed on Page (because you clicked in the margin area), allowing you to move it anywhere on the page. You can resize it to look just like a column, then put text in it.

How to track only one column updated in SQL Server 2012?

Is there a way to only track one specific column named Newsletter (bit format) of a table only when any record in that column has been changed from False to True?
e.g. In SQL Serer 2012, I have a table named tblSignupHistory. so i originally set the query like this:

ENABLE CHANGE_TRACKING
WITH(TRACK_COLUMNS_UPDATED = ON)
and in my stored procedure, if any data is changed, SQL Server will automatically send me an email notification.
BUT i only want the notification email to be send only when this one specific column's value is changed from 0 to 1 (False to True). Any changes in other columns for the same table can be ignored.
