Database Connector Error:'DAO Error Code:0xc03

hi Guys ,
I m getting an error while im adding parameter in my Crystal parameter.
The Error is-
Database Connector Error:'DAO Error Code:0xc03
Source:DAO Database
Description:Malformed GUID,in query expression
'Year=Year(#2010-04-27 11:23:15#)and Month <=Month({?End Date})'.'
I have used the following Sql Query:
SELECT Sum(Amount) AS Year_BUDGET, [Account Number]
FROM [Monthly Account Budgets]
WHERE Year = Year ({?End Date}) and Month <= Month({?End
Date})
GROUP BY [Account Number];
Plz try to give me any solution.

Is there really a carriage return (new line) between "{?End" and "Date}" in the Month() expression as shown above? It looks like Crystal isn't recognizing {?End Date} in that part of the formula and doing the substitution correctly.

In eclipse I used this rpt and generated the Jsp file to export the report to Pdf format

Please ensure that you have upgraded to Service Pack 4. There was a bug related to Unexpected Database Connector error that was resolved in the latest service pack release this February.

Crystal Report throws Unexpected Database Connector error

Hi, 
 
We are using Crystal report 2008 CR4E API to implement the crystal report in our application. We use the below code to reset the report data source with our application data source. It works fine for most of the simple queries. But if the query contains any function defined in the SELECT Clause it throws Unexpected Database Connector error. As per the log and analysis we believe the root cause of the exception is it consider that function as column in the table and throws the SQL Exception that "function is Invalid Identifier". Could you please help in resolving this issue?

i'm also getting the same error when i'm trying to call stored procedure (that will fetch the result set and populate the report) through the query in the report-viewer.jsp. The result set is fetched i.e. when i print the result set it shows on tomcat but it is not getting passed to Table object to populate the report. However when i try to give the query explicitly in the form of SELECT statements, it works fine i.e. i can view the report in the browser. But giving query in the form of SELECT is a very naive way and is ok if u have too less reports not requiring too many joins, thats why i was using stored procedure. Any help would be appreciated.

ReportClientDocument throws - Unexpected database connector error

Hi,
We are getting a weird exception in Websphere 6.1 server when we try to open a crystal report using ReportClientDocument object. It is throwing an unexpected database connector error when we try to change the datasource of the report. It would be great if some one can help us with the solution.

It appears that you are trying to pass a resultset to the report, only things i can think of is, either the jar file needed for that type of connection is missing, or maybe the app servers are using different versions of java which causes it to act differently.

Unexpected Database Connector Error - Help please !!

Hi,
I am trying to use stored procedure in the crystal report, that comes bundled with RAD7. The following code I got from http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/520 for using the stored procedure. I am getting 'UnexpectedQueryEngineError' on JRCCommunicationAdapter when trying to establish data connection to add the stored procedure to the report. I tried the same example above for adding table to the report by modifying 'Procedure' to 'Table' and it worked fine.
I really need to use the stored procedure in the report and get to have this working soon. Immediate help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Penchal,
What is the backend database? Are you using ODBC or JDBC connectivity for your backend DB engine?
Make sure to have the required jars for your connection type inside your applications lib directory.
Does it happens with all the reports?
What happens if you do not change the datasource, are you able to view reports fine.
As you are using Crystal reports for ecllipse runtime libraries to build your jsp, you would need to post your dicussions in the below forum to get better response.

Unexpected Database Connector Error when rpt has parameters (CR4JE)

Hello,
I am trying to call a crystal report from my web-based JBoss application. If the report does not have a parameter, the report is displayed just fine. When the report has a parameter, a parameter screen is displayed. When I enter the parameter information and press OK, the report gives "Unexpected Database Connector Error". This applies for both String type parameters and Number type parameters. Have provided the code below for the xhtml page that contains the bocrv tag and the "reports" bean that it references. The database is Oracle10g (10.2.0.4).

Unexpected database connector error, when data sent from POJO.. Plz Help Me

Hi, Please Help me about this, I have started learning to develop a crystal report with java swing in crystal report integrated eclipse IDE 3.5 but when i am trying to send data from pojo to report file its giving error like "Unexpected database connector error" and Error code:-2147215349 Error code name:docNotReady.... please hlep me... i uploaded my program and the link to download my file is :

Thanks for your reply, and did you downloaded my project files ? if not then please download it first.. because i retrieving data from the POJO not from any database.. from database its working fine but in case of POJO its not, because i wanna retrieve data dynamically from directly fields to report, means that user will fill all the information in the text box (Swing) and when he click on the button then the data from the text box should be pushed to report file and also should have to saved in the database.. so please download my project file... and help me...

Error in file ...rpt : Database Connector Error

Hello everyone,
I recently came across a strange problem whose source i can't find. I am using printToPrinter function to print a report to a printer. My application prints more than 300 reports continuously one after the other. The way i do this is as follows:
1. I create the datasource in asp.net
2. I insert the datasource in crystal reports datasource property
3. I call printToprinter
4. I close and dispose the ReportDocument object that i use to do the previous steps.
5. I continue to the next report and so on...
When i run the application from my development machine the reports print successfully. When my client whose pc is far away tries to print, sometimes and not always, one of the reports crashes in the line of code where i have put the printToPrinter method and the error is :

Does anyone know what causes this strange behavior? And why does this happen occasionally?

You're closing the reports after you finish printing them, but are you calling .Dispose() on them? The Crystal SDK is really a wrapper around COM objects. Code written in Visual Studio does not automatically memory manage COM objects well (if at all!) so you have to do one of two things: either explicitly call .Dispose() when you're done with a report or put the report in a "Using" structure like this (assuming C# code behind - I don't know how this works in VB!):
Using (ReportDocument myRpt = New ReportDocument())

Another issue might be due to network latency. If your user is indeed "far away" from where the application is running and is printing to a printer local to him, then any network slow-down or things like packet errors would affect communication between the application and the user and cause the print command to error out.

CR4E 2.1: Unexpected database connector error

Hi,
I've an application that runs reports at an automated time, we've just updated from older JRC components from Crystal Reports XI to the CR4E 2.1 components, we did this because occasionally the reports would cause a maximum cursors exception as we use ORACLE stored procedures to gather data from our database. 
Changing to the newer components eliminates the cursor problem but now we are facing this exception from some of the reports that take longer to run

Whenever i used a CRAXDRT.Report.SQLQueryString? my application has an error "Database Connector Error"
but whenever i omit this single line of code CRAXDRT.Report.SQLQueryString?

Or either i replace it with a CRAXDRT.Report.RecordSelectionFormula?

it works fine and it show the report and data...
But?? i have to use more flexible filter condition like "SQLQueryString" like using LEFT OUTER JOIN or even just a simple query string in sql query...
but using "SQLQueryString" gives me a head ache to figure it myself... I got this frustrating error in my application... "Database connector error"
thats why i need help... please anybody has a good idea to resolve this problem "Database connector error" please refer to my code if there's something missing or lacking in my code...

You may want to move/ask this question in the "Other" sdk forum since this is not the CR.NET SDK, but actually RDC/COM SDK.
You are using the RDC in .NET, which is unsupported/untested so there is no way to know if it is a .NET specific issue or an issue with the RDC.
One of the COM folks may be of more help in that forum.

Database Connector Error -Crystal Reports

Hi all,
I am using Crystal reports 2008 to design reports for IDM 7.1.The DB is SQL Server 2005.
I am able to design and fetch correct data from the databases and things work fine in the Crystal report tool. But when I try to call the task from IDM-UI , I am getting a strange error and the job fails.
The error message goes like tis:
Failed generating report BasicRoleComposition85837.pdf
com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportSDKException: Unexpected database connector error---- Error code:-2147467259 Error code name:failed
putNextEntry failed storing85731
I checked the constants and the its all set correctly. I checked the SQL too,it also seems to be ok.
I really cant make out what went wrong.It would be great if someone can help me out with this.

Intermittent Unknown Database Connector Error: "Object reference"

Don't know if I'm posting to the right forum. Please redirect me if this post belongs elsewhere.
We use a .NET application by SunGard (Advance Web). We have a whole bunch of Crystal reports we've deployed through this application, and they all work. . .most of the time.
We occasionally, however, find that ALL our Crystal reports return this error:
Unknown Database Connector Error Error in File C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\Report1003 {7B4DBA4D-3EA7-4545-83DB-F5A56AE945FF}.rpt: Unknown Database Connector Error
CrystalReportViewer - CrystalReportViewer1
Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
If we reboot the server, the reports all work again. But sooner or later they start to fail w/ the same error message.
We have Crystal Reports 11.5.8.826 installed on the server.
The network service account has full read/write access to its temp directory (C:\Windows\TEMP).
The reports have never failed when we've used this application on a different server, so we're wondering if there's something amiss with the server.
Anybody have an idea of what's happening here?

Sorry. My mistake. That note wasn't tagged correctly so it didn't show up on the public side of the SAP Note system. I've fixed the tag but it will still take a day or two for it to replicate to the other system. I've pasted the contents of the note below.

Reproducing the Issue
There are lots of reports designed with regular tables.
A custom RAS SDK application is developed to change the reports from regular table to CommandTable

Most of reports can be successfully changed and viewed, however the error occurs with somes of the reports.

Cause
"Verify on First Refresh" option is not selected for those unworking reports.
Resolution
Workaround 1: Check "Verify on First Refresh" option for the report.
Open the report in Crystal Reports Designer
Go to menu File -> Report Options
check the Verify on First Refresh option for the report
Save the report
Workaround 2: Add "rd.VerifyDataBase()" in the code
        databaseController.SetTableLocation(oldTable, newTable);
        rd.VerifyDataBase();

Database Connector Error:'DAO Error Code:0xc03
