Hi,
The dead lock problem is like 2 process both require table A and B.
Process 1 locked table A and waiting for table B, while process 2 locked table B and waiting for table A.
As both process waiting for the other process to release, so it will wait forever and the system solve this problem by killing one of them, and the process being killed got the error you mentioned.
So... back to your question, to solve your problem there are 2 parts
1) For the data loading or process failed
You may just retry it now, as the other process most likely ended
2) To prevent it from happen again
You may need to check the process/loading occur at the time period and re-schedule them to prevent the process to lock each other again, for how to locate the process, it is all about your knowledge to the system, so help we can offer are limited

I am trying to use a date field as a query filter and I keep getting the
following error:
A database error occurred. The database error text is: ORA-01843: not a
valid month. (WIS 10901).
When I remove the query filter and run the query it works as
expected. I want to be able to allow the users to use the date field in order
to select a date range. Can someone provide me with some information on how to
resolve this issue.

In WebI XI 3.1, i am getting this error when i run webi report against a derived table "A database error occured. The database error text is: ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected NUMBER got DATE ". The derived table is designed in such a way that it populates only last week data, however, the result populates data for last week and current week. For the current week, it shows date range from feb19 to feb25, so the data is not correct. how can i get rid of current week.

Hello, the error means that it is pulling a field with DATE type instead of a number, you should convert the date to a number at universe or document level.

    Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLCATL2" - in "CATS_SELECT_PRPS".

our CIF queue is continously failing while trying to u[pdate teh table /sapapo/matloc due to deadlock getting created.
if we delete tehd ead lock in db01 the CIF again works fine
we are at SCM 5.0. thsi CIF flows from our ECC system when to try to update material.

Same type of dump we got when we trigger the DTP which in process chain to load data from DSO to Info cube. And the load had processed with 225 data package and at 164th data package we got this error and except 164th data package all data package processed successfully
And the request was red. So we had done processed manually by clicking the icon. So all its been green and successfully loaded.
So when you do process manual the particular data package which got failed will be process successfully

We have an OLAP universe basically built on BW query and we are creating a web intelligence report on it. We added a new field to the cube "Date Changed" the infoobject used is delivered 0CPR_CHON which has 0DATE as ref. characteristic.
When we used this dimension in webi it came over as characteristic rather than date so we went to the universe and changed the properties to Date and we have started getting this error. I looked up and there are some notes and posts on this and apparently it is not supported by SAP.
Has anyone found a workaround? Another thing I am confused is ...in the same cube we have Valid From and valid to dates and those dimensions come over as dates in webi..so what is different between the two?
If I create a new universe on this same connection (query) then it does come over as date so how can we make it working on old universe?

Hi Henry,
0CPR_CHON is attribute of changed version but how would that matter....it is used as standalone infooobject in the cube and that is the reason it coming over as dimension by default but the type is coming over as Char...instead of Date.
I am making that to date and getting that error. It works if I build the universe all over again (brand new).
These are some of the notes: 1457821,1184983, 1432272, 1384547, 1407631, 1466213.

Live office database errors in Citrix - underlying WebI reports work fine

We have a live office report with 30 tabs in the excel file i.e. 30 webi report parts in it. It accesses 20 webi reports, each built on a BEX query.
Please see below the error which users get while running the report in Citrix environment. The underlying WebI report has no database errors, and we were able to run the Live Office reports at the same time on LAN. The Citirx users get these database/auth errors intermittently, on different tabs of the report at different times - the underlying BO reports are error free and users have proper rights to execute them.
"An error occured while opening the report. The report does not exist; youhave insufficient rights to open the report; or you cannot make a connection to the BusinessObjects Web Service. (LO 02010)
Failed to get the document information (LO 26315)
A database error occured. The database error text is: ...."

BO Version is BO XI 3.1 SP2 FP2.1
Datasource - BEX queries BW Relese 701, support pack level 8
We have made users login to Infoview and checked that they are able to execute the WebI reports. Also, earlier they were able to run all reports, so there is no access problem.
These errors started occuring when we had to refersh BO Universes after some of the BEX queries changed. We even asked users to stop using the excel files on which they used to get errors, thinking the files may be corrupt. Then we sent them new files which we had successfully refershed at our end. But still they get these errors in their environment.
Please advise.

When we are creating a report with a universe based on BW, we are getting this error message:
"A database error occurred. The database error text is: An error occurred while trying to load the provider for transport sap. Failed to load library mda_sap. System error message: 0509-022 Cannot load module /Apps/BOEXI31/bobje/enterprise120/aix_rs6000/libmda_sap.so.

When I test the connection of the universe in Designer, the result is ok. Also, when I create a report on Rich Client, the report is created fine.

when i try to open my webi report,tis throwing this message after i execute giving my prompt information:
"a database error occured:the database error text is - Error in MDDATASETBW.GetCellData.See RFC trace file or
SAP system log fro more details (WIS 10901) "
i checked with rfc trace ... it says error in connection and "RFCIO_ERROR_SYSERROR in abrfcpic.c"
likewise in ssytem log ,it says network prb ????

It is BO 2008.my webi report has prompts,which are actually based from the BI query and not prompts created here in the
webi report.when the combinations of prompt values given has data,in the backend BI system,the report runs fine,if
no data is available in BI multiprovider,error message shoots up.this is happening both in dev and prd systems.

BO XI R 3.1 SP 2 fix pack 2.1 - Database error occured - "Error on fetch"

As per SAP recommendation we have upgraded our SAP BI system from BI 7.0 to BI 7.01 (Enhancement Pack 1).
And BO XI R 3.1 SP 2 to BO XI R 3.1 SP 2 fix pack 2.1.
After applying fix pack 2.1 on BO server, suddenly the reports on one of the Universes throwing error as follows:
A database error occured. The database error text is : (CS) "Error on Fetch". (WS 10901).
We have to apply Enhancement pack (SAP BI 7.01) and fix pack 2.1 (on BO) before this weekend on production environment.
Can you please help us if you are having any idea why this error occurs upon BO fix pack 2.1 installation.

The query works well in SAP BI side using RSRT / BEx Analyzer.
I have created a new universe on same BI Query, still the problem exist.
We have created one new BEx query on same InfoProvider and then Universe. It works fine.

i am using SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI 3.1 and created one report using webi, saved and exported to CMS when i opened it in Infoview it works fine but when i refresh it then i am getting below mentioned error:-
Refreshing a document in Web Intelligence Rich Client generates the following error message:
the database error text is (CS) " unexpected behaviour". (WIS 10901)
i am able to see the sql which is getting generated....
another problem i am getting if i am creating report using new web intelligence document and using efashion universe then report is showing blank with different colours....
Please help me to solve this problem..

Hello,
Have you checked your Universe connection to the database?
Did you create the report in Rich client on your machine and then export it? ODBC connections may be different. They need to be the same.
I am not sure what you mean regarding blank with different colors. Can you explain this a little better?
