    Hi All,
    I have lost one of my datafile while moving them from 1 drive to another. I am getting the following error while trying to start the database:
    ORA-01122: database file 58 failed verification check

    Please suggest what can be done to correct the error. Also I don't have a backup.

    You have a mismatch in the control file and data file scn numbers. What was done before the database was getting started? I once saw this error when some one moved one file from another munt point to another and there was no rename give to the control file and the control file got no idea which is this new file and where it had come from?
    Try finding the control file which is of the same backup as of this datafile.

    Dear,
    This error says that urs current datafile is corrupted their are two to three solution on which we can work out.......
    1.if urs database is in Archive log then do the following
    a) shutdown the database
    b) start mount
    c) make sure that u have all the archive log file in the directory where they should be
    d) recover database, then it will ask all archive log file just press enter or write Auto their,
    2) If urs database is not in Archive log then u have restore from urs lsat backuup.
    3) If this datafile if not very much in use u can make it offline and start urs database.

    Hi K Nani,
    From your error message
    ora_01122:database file 8 failed cerification check
    ora_01110:datafile 8:d:\oracle\sid\sapdata1\sr3_5\sr3.data5'
    ora_01251:unknown file header version read for file number 8
    Looks like Data file is corrupted.
    You may refer SAP note 696141 - Composite SAP Note: ORA-01122
    10. ORA-01251: Unknown File Header Version read for file number <file_id>
    Reason: The file header cannot be correctly read.
    Solution: If you use Oracle 9.2 on WINDOWS and if you already installed the database with Oracle 7.2 or lower, see Note 636466.
               Otherwise: Restore/recovery
    Only solution here is restore the database from backup.
    Alternate solution If it is a non-production system.
    If the file is corrupted, then take the datafile offline and open the database.
    Hope this helps
    Regards,
    Deepak Kori

  • Update file fails verification

    Hi..
    When running software update the files all download then fail verification and so won't install. I've tried downloading the files manually from the site with the same result. I've tried both about 3 times each.
    I've downloaded other things from the web that seem ok.
    Any ideas?

    The resolution was a faulty internet router corrupting the file.

  • J2EE Engine start error: Database initialization failed!

    My J2EE engine now fails to start - jcontrol stays yellow.  I've followed Troubleshooting pages from help.sap.com Admin manual topic "starting J2EE Engine".
    Background:
    I was running through JDI Scenario 2+ on a fresh installed WebAS 6.40 at SP9.  Using NWDevStudio2.09, I attempted to load a DC, but servers stopped responding.  So I downed everything (in MMC) including offlining the DB, then put DB back online and restart the J2E engine, and now jcontrol stays yellow.

    ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?????

    Using the Database Administration section of the help.sap.com library, I found the location of SAPDB/MySQL log files.  They are in C:\sapdb\data\wrk\J2E.  In 'knldiag' I found entries complaining of Log files being full and tasks put in suspension.
    So I figured out to do a full back up of the DB and/or backup the log files.  The log file bar (in MMC) still showed 100% full, but I figured out to refresh the view and voila it was empty (so one of the backups emptied it, not sure which one).
    After that the DB comes up fine and now my J2E WebAS goes all green.

  • Database initialization failed after attach the database.

    Hello Everyone,
    I have a problem after detaching the database and attaching it again (I moved the database to another partition because of shortage of disk space). Then, I find that the system can not start. (I've two systems and now neither of them could start). The error seems very similar.
    In the pure java system(netweaver 04s) log: jvm_bootstrap.out,
    com.sap.engine.bootstrap.synchronizationException: Database Initializtion Failed! Check database properties.
    com.sap.engine.frame.core.configuration.configurationException: Error while connecting to DB.
    Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: [NWMss] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] [SQLServer] Login failed for user 'SAPBP0DB'.
    In pure ABAP system(Netweaver 04s) log: dev_w12:
    openoledbConnection: MARS property was not set.
    openoledbConnection: line 23722. hr: 0x8000ffff login failed for user 'CNDT50083414\SAPServiceBE0'.
    sloledb.cpp [openoledbConnection, line 23722]: Error/Message: (err 18456, sev 0), Login failed for user 'CNDT50083414\SAPServiceBE0'.
    sloledb.cpp [openoledbConnection, line 23722]: Error/Message: (err 0, sev 0), Invalid string connection attribute.
    Is this because the DB not started? In Windows Services, I found 'MSSQLServer' is started.
    How can I trace down to this problem? I don't have much idea on DB...
    All your kindly help is greatly appreciated.

  • How do the application servers connect the new database after failing over from primary DB to standby DB

    How do the application servers connect the new database after failing over from primary DB to standby DB?
    We have setup a DR environment with a standalone Primary server and a standalone Physical Standby server on RHEL Linux 6.4. Now our application team would like to know:
    When the primary DB server is crashed, the standy DB server will takeover the role of primary DB through the DataGuard fast failover. As the applications are connected by the primary DB IP before,currently the physical DB is used as a different IP or listener. If this is happened, they need to stop their application servers and re-configure their connection so the they coonect the new DB server, they cannot tolerate these workaround.
    Whether does oracle have the better solution for this so that the application can automatically know the role's transition and change to the new IP without re-confige any connection and shutdown their application?
    Oracle support provides us the answer as following:
    ==================================================================
    Applications connected to a primary database can transparently failover to the new primary database upon an Oracle Data Guard role transition. Integration with Fast Application Notification (FAN) provides fast failover for integrated clients.
    After a failover, the broker publishes Fast Application Notification (FAN) events. These FAN events can be used in the following ways:
    Applications can use FAN without programmatic changes if they use one of these Oracle integrated database clients: Oracle Database JDBC, Oracle Database Oracle Call Interface (OCI), and Oracle Data Provider for .NET ( ODP.NET). These clients can be configured for Fast Connection Failover (FCF) to automatically connect to a new primary database after a failover.
    JAVA applications can use FAN programmatically by using the JDBC FAN application programming interface to subscribe to FAN events and to execute event handling actions upon the receipt of an event.
    FAN server-side callouts can be configured on the database tier.
    FAN events are published using Oracle Notification Services (ONS) and Oracle Streams Advanced Queuing (AQ).
    =======================================================================================
    Who has the experience and the related documentation or other solutions? we don't have the concept of about FAN.
    Thank very much in advance.

    Hi mesbeg,
    Thanks alot.
    For example, there is an application JBOSS server connecting the DB, we just added another datasource and put the standby IP into the configuration file except adding a service on DB side like this following:
            <subsystem xmlns="urn:jboss:domain:datasources:1.0">
            <datasources>
                    <datasource jta="false" jndi-name="java:/jdbc/idserverDatasource" pool-name="IDServerDataSource" enabled="true" use-java-context="true">
                        <connection-url>jdbc:oracle:thin:@<primay DB IP>:1521:testdb</connection-url>
                        <connection-url>jdbc:oracle:thin:@<standby DB IP>:1521:testdb</connection-url>
                        <driver>oracle</driver>
                        <pool>
                            <min-pool-size>2</min-pool-size>
                            <max-pool-size>10</max-pool-size>
                            <prefill>true</prefill>
                        </pool>
                        <security>
                            <user-name>TEST_USER</user-name>
                            <password>Password1</password>
                        </security>
                        <validation>
                            <valid-connection-checker class-name="org.jboss.jca.adapters.jdbc.extensions.oracle.OracleValidConnectionChecker"/>
                            <validate-on-match>false</validate-on-match>
                            <background-validation>false</background-validation>
                            <use-fast-fail>false</use-fast-fail>
                            <stale-connection-checker class-name="org.jboss.jca.adapters.jdbc.extensions.oracle.OracleStaleConnectionChecker"/>
                            <exception-sorter class-name="org.jboss.jca.adapters.jdbc.extensions.oracle.OracleExceptionSorter"/>
                        </validation>
                    </datasource>
                    <drivers>
                        <driver name="oracle" module="com.oracle.jdbc">
                            <xa-datasource-class>oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver</xa-datasource-class>
                        </driver>
                    </drivers>
                </datasources>
            </subsystem>
    If the failover is occurred, the JBOSS will automatically be pointed to the standby DB. Additional actions are not needed.

    Hi,
    This 3rd time I followed this link. But nothing new, same error.
    Can you please tell me how to do follow, I cannt do the 1st step, how to change the local system to windows level account, vice-versa. It is shown mine as
    Server Configuration Manager(Local)
    From here I folllowed the steps ---[I cannt insert link/image :-(]
    SQL 2008/R2 setup fails with "Wait on the database engine recovery handle failed"
    If I right clicked on SQL Server Service, there is no option to change the account.
    Hello,
    Thanks for your patience,did you tried stesp mentioned in below article
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqljourney/archive/2012/03/16/sql-2008-r2-setup-fails-with-quot-wait-on-the-database-engine-recovery-handle-failed-quot.aspx
    To resolve it, follow these steps:-
    When the installation throws this error, click on OK and allow it to proceed. It will fail for Database Engine, but the SQL Server service should have
    been created. Check the Services console.
    If the service is present, perform the following steps:-
    1. Go to SQL Server Configuration manager, right click on the SQL Server service, and change the service account (if it is local system, give
    it a windows level account, and vice-versa). It might throw a WMI error but you will see the account getting updated anyway. If not, then use the Services console. Change the account for SQL Agent as well.
    Use this link to change sql server service account
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345578.aspx
    2. Next, try to start the service. It should come online.
    3. However, you will not be able to log in to the SQL Server
    4. Now stop the service and start it from the command prompt using -m -c -T3608 parameters.
    5. Now try logging in to the server using admin connection from sqlcmd (sqlcmd admin:<server name>\<instance name> ...)
    6. Once logged in, use the sp_addsrvrolemember '<domain\username>','sysadmin'.
    Also add the builtin/administrators to the sysadmin role
    7. Now stop the service from the command prompt and start it from SQL Server configuration manager
    You should be able to log in to the server now.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Standby database not configure while keep database files in different place

    Dear Friends ,
    I have to successfully configured "PHYSICAL STANDBY DATABASE" within the TWO databases ("PRIM" and "STAN" Database) when I kept datafile, controlfile and redolog files in the same location (like, "/u01/app/oracle/oradata/prim" location .
    In this successful configuration , I have to add the below two lines into the initprim.ora and initstan.ora both server respectively ...
    initprim.ora:
    ========
    DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='/u01/app/oracle/oradata/stan','/u01/app/oracle/oradata/prim'
    LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='/u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area/stan','/u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area/prim'
    initstan.ora:
    ========
    DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='/u01/app/oracle/oradata/prim','/u01/app/oracle/oradata/stan'
    LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='/u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area/prim','/u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area/stan'Now , in second scenario , I have to change Primary database server's datafile, controlfile and redolog file in the below folder :
    controlfile --> "/u01/app/oracle/oradata/prim/ctrlfile"
    redologfile --> "/u01/app/oracle/oradata/prim/redofile"
    datafile --> "/u01/app/oracle/oradata/prim/datafile"
    Similarly I have to create same folder in my STAN database server accordingly . and also add the above lines in same way :
    initprim.ora:
    ========
    DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='/u01/app/oracle/oradata/stan','/u01/app/oracle/oradata/prim'
    LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='/u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area/stan','/u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area/prim'
    initstan.ora:
    ========
    DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='/u01/app/oracle/oradata/prim','/u01/app/oracle/oradata/stan'
    LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='/u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area/prim','/u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area/stan'Keeping the above situation when I run the below command in STAN database server :
    [oracle@test ~]$ sqlplus /nolog

    SQL> alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session;
    Database altered.
    The Command execute successfully but in the alert log of the STAN database server ,I get the below error :

And also no archivelogs are shifted from PRIM database server to STAN database server .
    Would u plz suggest me , why I cannot configure Physical Standby Database when I keep my database fles in the separate location ?
    help me plz ... ...

    Hi,
    I'm missing the steps you took renaming/moving the files on the primary.
    Since the location of datafiles is stored in the control file the controlfile of the standby might not know the new location yet.
    I suggest you read this http://www.cs.bris.ac.uk/maintain/OracleDocs/server.816/a76995/standby.htm#23603 and see if that helps
    Success,

  • Redo log files are not applying to standby database

    Hi everyone!!
    I have created standby database on same server ( windows XP) and using oracle 11g . I want to synchronize my standby database with primary database . So I tried to apply redo logs from primary to standby database as follow .
    My standby database is open and Primary database is not started (instance not started) because only one database can run in Exclusive Mode as DB_NAME is same for both database.  I run the following command on the standby database.
                SQL> ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE DISCONNECT FROM SESSION;
    It returns "Database altered" . But when I checked the last archive log on primary database, its sequence is 189 while on standby database it is 177. That mean archived redo logs are not applied on standby database.
    The tnsnames.ora file contains entry for both service primary & standby database and same service has been used to transmit and receive redo logs.
    1. How to resolve this issue ?
    2.Is it compulsory to have Primary database open ?
    3. I have created standby  control file by using  command
              SQL> ALTER DATABASE CREATE STANDBY CONTROLFILE AS ‘D:\APP\ORACLE\ORADATA\TESTCAT\CONTROLFILE\CONTROL_STAND1.CTL‘;
    So database name in the standby control file is same as primary database name (PRIM). And hence init.ora file of standby database also contains DB_NAME = 'PRIM' parameter. I can't change it because it returns error of mismatch database name on startup. Should  I have different database name for both or existing one is correct ?
    Can anybody help me to come out from this stuck ?
    Thanks & Regards
    Tushar Lapani

    Thank you Girish. It solved  my redo apply problem. I set log_archive_dest parameter again and then I checked archive redo log sequence number. It was same for both primary and standby database. But still table on standby database is not being refresh.
    I did following scenario.
    1.  Inserted 200000 rows in emp table of Scott user on Primary database and commit changes.
    2. Then I synchronized standby database by using Alter database command. And I also verify that archive log sequence number is same for both database. It mean archived logs from primary database has been applied to standby database.
    3. But when I count number of rows in emp table of scott user on standby database, it returns only 14 rows even of redo log has been applied.
    So my question is why changes made to primary database is not reflected on standby database although redo logs has been applied ?
    Thanks

  • Oracle UCM fails to check in text/xml files

    We have an Oracle UCM server that is failing to check in xml files over a certain size - I haven't narrowed down the size limit yet, but a <100kb file will work 100% of the time, while 300+ Kb xml files fail almost all the time, though there has been some success. Image files and zip file succeed on new check ins 100% of the time as well. We have tried with the SOAP API and the UCM new check in form - in both cases we get an empty repsonse from the server. In firefox we get the "The connection was reset" page. I'm at a loss as to explain why, but I have almost no experience with Oracle UCM. This particular server has been running for over a year happily accepting xml files of all sizes, then one day just stopped - as far as I am aware, nobody changed any
    settings/upgraded anything/changed network topology.
    When I look in the server output, I don't really see any indication of failure or find any mention of the file name or content title like I do when a file successfully checks in.
    I have already asked the DBA to drop and rebuild the database index, started the Collection rebuild cycle (it finished successfully) and turned on the webless file store option on the defaultfilestore provider.
    UCS Version : 10.1.3.3.3 (080807) (Build:7.2.2.188)
    Database : Microsoft SQL Server 09.00.4035 currently using DATABASE.METADATA though I think it was at one point using Full text search, but the database was not.
    Java Version:1.6.0
    Please ask if there is any other information you need, but I do not have physical access to the machine, and I may not be able to reveal certain info due to privacy/security concerns.

    Hello,
    I think you should open an SR with support to help out. Be that as it may, here's some observations/suggestions...
    * You are running a 4-year old content server. There have been numerous fixes since then. Your system may have grown to a point where it's hit one of the older issues.
    * Is it possible the XML encoding may have changed? i.e. that whatever generates the XML files is now generating them slightly differently and therefore the encoding is different so check-in doesn't follow the same rules? I'd look at the first line of older files versus the new files which fail. If there's a difference, refer to KM note 978689.1 in our knowledge base.
    * You say there doesn't appear to be anything in the logs, so let's increase them:
    - Login to UCM as Administrator. Go to Administration->System Audit Information. Switch on the Full Verbose Tracing checkbox. In the Active Sections field, put in:
    systemdatabase - this will show you what queries and inserts are made to the database and should show whether there's a problem at that level.
    requestaudit - this shows you the requests as they come in, as well as a roundup of all requests every 2 minutes. If you see large amounts of time being taken on requests, your server could be creaking because of resources.
    publish - tells you about publishing related issues, most XML file check-ins are related to this.
    - Try to check in a file which should fail.
    - Switch off verbose logging (see above) to reduce overhead.
    If the OS is Windows then the <install>/config.cfg file needs to have UseRedirectedOutput=true in order to generate a log file for this tracing. On Windows the file is the <install>/bin/IdcServerNT.log file. (if the above config is set)
    On *nix it is in the <install>/etc/log file (notice that there is no file extension on the file)
    If none of the logs helps you, an SR is probably in order.
    Regards,
    Frank.
