Database is not shutting down Hanging

Question

Hi All,
Shutdown immediate
Database is not shutting down it is switching the logfile from past 30min's
Checkpoint not complete
Current log# 1 seq# 758 mem# 0: /opt/oracle/oradata/itest10g/redo01.log
Thread 1 advanced to log sequence 759
Current log# 2 seq# 759 mem# 0: /opt/oracle/oradata/itest10g/redo02.log
Thu Nov 16 17:56:53 2006
Waiting for smon to disable tx recovery.
Thu Nov 16 17:57:37 2006
Thread 1 cannot allocate new log, sequence 760
Checkpoint not complete
Current log# 2 seq# 759 mem# 0: /opt/oracle/oradata/itest10g/redo02.log
Thread 1 advanced to log sequence 760
Current log# 3 seq# 760 mem# 0: /opt/oracle/oradata/itest10g/redo03.log
Can anyone please reply why is this happening
is it because of less logfiles because we have three logfile only or because of log_buffer...

with diff high water mark....and processes are 700 and sessions are defined 750 in init.para file...could you please suggest why is it happening ?
ThanksCheck cron job and other scheduled jobs on your database server. The database is shutdown gracefully not by accident or crash. Maybe a old backup script?
