Database link works for form but not report

I have created a database link to the scott.emp table in a remote database then created a local synonym in my Portal.
I then created a Form and a Report referencing the local synonym. The for works and allows me to insert record but the form does not. The report compiles fine but I get a message that Portal can't find the underlying table. It seems that if the form works then the report should too. Does anyone have a recommended solution?

There is a bug filed for this issue. And it should be taken up for fixing most probably in next release.

You need to use the file:// protocol, but you may still encounter problems if you fix that.

Album Art works for most, but not all

I was reading previous forums on the subject, but no clear answer was given..
The album art shows up fine in itunes and my library and works for most of my music on my ipod, but how come some album's art does appear? I have it set manually and select 'Get Info' then 'Artwork' and add it from there, then drag in the finished product to my ipod. I've been doing that and it works fine for most of the albums, but every so often, the album art will not appear on my ipod. Am I doing something wrong? I take them all from the same source (amazon.com) but it makes no sense to me how some randomly don't appear.
I tried deleting the artwork and re-adding it, but nothing happened again. If you could answer why it works for most but not all or how I can get the album art to appear for the ones it will not by re-doing something, it would be appreciated. thanks.

I encountered the same problem in the beginning. When I compared the size of the original images, the working ones seemed to be smaller in general, so I reduced the size of all covers I intended to upload on the pod to 300x300 pixels.
This seemed to work - for 2 days. I bought the pod on friday, had pictures on sunday, but on Monday (after the first time the pod was fully discharged) none were left left.
So I ended searching this forum for related problems...
And decided to join my problem to this entry.

Link works on mac but not on pc

Hi -
I am trying to insert a jpg into a dreamweaver file.
I then upload the html file along with the jpg to my server in a folder called "layout"
So the url is: http://www.mysite.com/layout/test.html
The link works on mac, but not on pc's.
Any idea why?
Some links work on pc's like this, and others don't.

The link is not correct....you have it listed as" mysite.com", which I assume is where you are to insert the name of your url.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. When has this issue started occurring, was this after installation of any specific adobe product.
On which platform are you seeing this.

It asked me if I wanted to install something to make the videos load faster -
Check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. Might be lurking there. If so, select the plugin then click Uninstall.
Check:
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins (~) Tilde character represents your Home folder
Check:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
/Library/Application Support
/Library/Input Managers
And check your Safari downloads folder. If the file is still there, double click to open. Might be an uninstaller you can use.

We have scripts that connect to each database on the box and perform database tasks nightly. The scripts first set the environment then connects to each database with SQL*Plus. This works for 8i but fails in the recently created 9i environment. (Unix Solaris environment)
Because the SQL*Plus connection appears in many areas in the scripts, we assign the following connection string to a variable:
SQLPLUS="/usr/oracle/product/9.2.0/bin/sqlplus -s 'xxx/xxxxxx@xxxx as sysdba'"
Export SQLPLUS
echo "$SQLPLUS"
(This echo out correctly: /usr/oracle/product/9.2.0/bin/sqlplus -s 'xxx/xxxxxx@xxxx as sysdba')
It fails when the script calls the assigned variable:
$SQLPLUS <<-EOF
with the following error:
Usage: SQLPLUS [ [<option>] [<logon>] [<start>] ]
where <option> ::= -H | -V | [ [-L] [-M <o>] [-R <n>] [-S] ]

8.1.7.0 my connection failed the same as in 9.2 and 10i.
My solution was to do:

EOFThis worked in 9.2.0.5, 10.1.0.2 and 8.1.7.0.
One common security risk on UNIX remains: putting the username and
password on the command line. On some systems a "ps" command will
show the password to any user. If OS authentication cannot be used
for connection, perhaps putting the username/password in the SQL
script may be more secure?
A final note is that in SQL*Plus 10g, no quotes are needed around
AS SYSDBA, i.e.
sqlplus / as sysdba works from the OS prompt, whereas in 9.2 you need to do
sqlplus "/ as sysdba"This makes a solution easy:
SQLPLUS="/usr/oracle/product/10.1.0/bin/sqlplus -s xxx/xxxxxx@xxxx as sysdba"-- CJ

Why does my app store account tell me that my payment method does not match my bank's records. my card is valid and works for iTunes but not the app store.

While trying to change my Credit Card info: The app store tells me that my payment method information does not match my bank records and to try again or enter a new payment method. My CC is valid and its the same CC ive had for a while. This CC info works for iTunes but is not being accepted for the App store.I have changed this info online but cannot change it on my iPhone. Table of Contents page numbers works for PDF but not for other formats

Hi,
I followed exactly was indicated here regarding creation of TOC.

The page numbers generated correctly for PDF but not for RTF, HTML and XLS.
(HTML and XLS are understandably not paginated in nature but why not in RTF?)
Tried to make the simplest example work, with 2 headings each on a separate page. Doesn't work on either MSWord 2003 or 2007.
What am I doing wrong?

What is your email address? I have attached a file in Oracle Metalink, under SR 3-5172030861. named test_toc.rtf
You may use any xml because the template does not use any dynamic binding of values.
The template is basically 2 pages, the TOC in the 1st page. First TOC item (Heading 1) is in Page 1, and Second TOC item is in Page 2.
So the end result should be (PDF result from BI Publisher):
First TOC Item .................. 1
Second TOC Item ............. 2
But for RTF it outputs:
First TOC Item .................. 0
Second TOC Item ............. 0
And after doing Print Preview (once or twice)
First TOC Item .................. Error in Bookmark
Second TOC Item ............. Error in Bookmark
Hope this is detailed enough to illustrate the problem.

Tiger Server: Default MySQL works for phpMyAdmin but not command line ? ? ?

I followed the excellent instructions at

on upgrading PHP to version 5 and getting (the preinstalled) MySQL setup with phpMyAdmin
I can connect through the phpMyAdmin, create new dbs, etc. Problem is that now I CAN'T connect from the command line. (I originally set my new root password from the command line and that's the last time I could connect from there!
Now I get the dreaded ERROR 2002 when I attempt:
/usr/bin/mysql -h localhost -u root -p
If I use the IP address or hostname instead of "localhost" (after -h) I get a ERROR 2003. Dropping the -h and hostname from the line above still gets me a ERROR 2002.
My phpMyAdmin config is a connect type "TCP" not socket, which might be one reason it works and the command line doesn't, but I still don't know where I've gone wrong.
My /var/mysql/* is all owned by mysql and group www.
I'm finding lots of people asking about the ERROR 2002, but not finding any solutions (particularly for Tiger Server). I'd prefer to use the preinstalled MySQL to installing a new installation (the thread referenced above says upgrading or removing the MySQL installation is too hard to do) and there has GOT to be a reasonable explanation for why it works with phpMyAdmin, but not the command line.

You know what? I think when I started mysql_safe, I did it with sudo. Maybe that is my problem?
If so, what user do I want to start it as? I've seen one suggestion of doing this:
./bin/mysqld_safe --user=mysql &

Connect iPhone to computer and open iTunes. You will be prompted to update to iOS 7.0. Keep your phone connected until the update is finished.
