  • Specified Database not available

    Hi All:
when i am trying to start concurrent manager service i am getting following error
"The Specified Database is not available" but the database service has started in fine. After that i am tried to connect sqlplus there also i am getting the above mentioned error..please any one can help to solve this issue ...

In order for you to check environment variables in windows, check the advanced system properties, at the environment variables section. There you will see declared the PATH environment variable.
The default ORACLE_SID can be explicitly set at the DOS prompt or it can be verified from the windows registry. The ORACLE_HOME is declared at the windows registry too. The default Oracle Home is the one that appears first declared in the PATH environment variable.
On the other hand, do you have further log files, such as the alert.log where more detailed error messages are recorded

  • BUG: JDev 10.1.3 ADF BC Synchronize With Database not available

I am using the "Business Components from Tables" wizard to create my ADF model.
If I specify a package that is 3 nodes deep (a.b.model) then JDev creates a structure that looks like this...
    Applications
    --MyApplication
    ----Model
    ------Application Sources
    --------a.b.model
If I specify a package that is 4 nodes deep (a.b.c.model) then JDev creates an extra level in the Navigator like this....
    Applications
    --MyApplication
    ----Model
    ------Application Sources
    --------a.b.c
    ----------model
The side effect of this extra level is that the "Synchronize With Database" option is no longer available when bringing up the context menu for either the "a.b.c" node or the "model" node.
    Bob

The problem appears to not be with the Wizard.
Instead, the problem is tied to the Navigator Flat Level control.
If I increase the flat level to a point where the entire package appears in a single Navigator node, then the "Synchronize with Database" context menu item is available.
If the flat level is decreased to a point that the package splits into multiple Navigator nodes then the context meny item is no longer available.

  • Database not available Backupserver instance not available

    Hi all
I'm new to SAP Sybase ASE i installed a ECC6 with SYBASE database15 while starting the server the DB is not going to up and i could not find any proper solution and i'm attaching the logs please help to clear the issue.
    Regards,
    Chidananda.

    Hi Chidananda,
According to your attaching files, ASE instance and backup server instance were running on the machine....
Why don't you check first the ASE process using showserver command as below with sapadmin user or sybase admin user.
    #showserver
if dataserver(ASE) and backup server are running on the machine you can see the process as a result of showserver command.
1.if there is a dataserver process you can check the connection to the DB instance with R3trans as below.
    #R3trans -d
    This is R3trans version 6.24 (release 742 - 11.08.14 - 17:21:00).
    unicode enabled version
    R3trans finished (0000).
2.if there is no dataserver process, restart the SAP instance or DB instance using stopsap/startsap
    #startsap or startsap db
    Checking syb Database
    Database is running

were you able to see any DB error messages in event log ?
can you connect to your DB from the server itself ? (could be FW issue)
What do you see under the CCM ? Do the SIA is in green state ?
For me it is probably one of 2 things : FW issue (but install will have failed) or DB issue

  • After install, database is not available. How can I create a new database?

I installed "Oracle Database 10g Express Edition".
After install I tried to "Go To Database Home Page" and received a "Page not found" error.
If I run SQLPLUS and ...:
    connect / as sysdba
    shutdown immediate
    startup
    I get
    ORACLE instance started.

And I can not find any control files on my PC.
    Can I create one?

Yes. This is correct. There is no control file. In fact, there is nothing in C:\OracleXE\oradata\XE. It appears that the install did not create a database, so I figured I'd try to create one myself
but did not haev any success. Should the install have created a database? I did install the same product on a laptop and it seemed to work fine. The problem I ran into was that it does not have
enough memory to be useful, only 512 Meg. So I decided to install it on my desktop PC with 3 Gig. This is where I am having the problem. I tried a re-install but still no database was created.

  • Sql 2008 r2 property size is not available for database

Nightly whenever index rebuild process runs My data file and log file gets full and when right click properties on database then I get the error: Property size is not available for database. This property may not exist for this object.
What is the error means? What is my database state at that time?
    Thanks

    Hi Ajay
Firstly, I have seen this before. Even though you have permissions to the database, when there is heavy load (Index rebuilds), I cannot access the database. Usually in this case, I just query the system tables for whatever I need.
Secondly, your transaction log should not be filling up.
What recovery model are you using?
Do you have regular log backups? How often do they run?
You need to plan properly for your transaction log growth.
The data file fills up because the immediate sort of the index rebuild is being done in the database itself. You can change this to run in TempDB, provided your TempDB has been configured properly.

  • Agent updates not available after restoring DPM database

    Hi,
I am using DPM 2012 R2 which I have recently successfully updated to version 4.2.1297.0 (A hotfix installed to resolve an issue with Rollup 5).
I updated 3 agents successfully and planned to do the remaining 8 at a later date.  However after updating the first 3 I was trying to resolve a reporting issue which I did successfully and I carried out a DPM database restore in the process followed
    by a DPMsync -sync command.
I am now planning to update the remaining 8 agents but under the management tab the agent status is now showing as OK instead of Update Available as it did previously before the restore.  I have checked the protected clients and they do not have the 4.2.1297.0
version installed (I checked this in case the installation had occurred).  I then decided I would try and re-install the hotfix on the DPM server (kb3040326) but it seems I can't first uninstall the update on it's own so will have to uninstall DPM altogether.
I have tried to reinstall the hotfix again on the DPM server without removing it first and I get a message advising:
"A required hotfix KB3021791 is missing.  Install it from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3021791"
This update refers to Update Rollup 5 for DPM 2012 R2 which, again, is already installed on the DPM server and appears under Add/Remove programs.
It seems that since the restore the DPM server is aware that the Rollup and subsequent hotfixes are installed but the DPM application is not (although when I click the About DPM button, the version is 4.2.1297.0).  I am unable to update the agents through
the DPM GUI with the latest hotfix as it is not available to them and I am reluctant to install the latest version directly onto the clients without sorting this problem out first.
If anyone has any advice that would be great,
    Thanks.

This isn't a bug in Leopard or it's recent updates so it's not something you should expect to see fixed in a subsequent release. However, you're not the only one who has found there to be problems after an update and assumed the update was responsible when it's either coincidental, or simply highlighted a problem that existed on the system previously.
First thing to try when any device or ports appear to vanish on the system is to perform an SMC reset:
-From the Apple menu, choose Shut Down (or if the computer is not responding, hold the power button until it turns off).
-Unplug all cables from the computer, including the power cord and any display cables.
    -Wait at least 15 seconds.
-Plug the power cord back in, making sure the power button is not being pressed at the time.
-Then reconnect your keyboard and mouse to the computer.
-Press the power button on the back to start up your computer.
Since the SMC (System Management Controller) looks after all the internal devices, when it goes wrong it can cause very bizarre apparent failures! Resetting usually resolves these. Give that a try and post back to let us know.

  • Delete a database option is not available in DBCA

    Hello,
I have HP-UX 11v3. I have installed Oracle Standard Edition 10.2.0.1 and after that I installed 10.2.0.4 Patch Set.
I configured two databases using DBCA. At the end I save scripts (not create database) and run script from shell.
The databases are up and running.
I tried to delete one database through DBCA, but option Delete a database (and also "Configure Databse Option") is not available, they are grey.
What is the problem? What should I do to get option to delte both databases from DBCA?
    Regards,
    Lovro

    Regards,
LovroDBCA reads the ORATAB file on Unix to determine what databases exist to be dropped (and DBUA does the same to determine which databases are to be upgraded). Most likely the ORATAB file does not contain an uncommented entry for your database.

    Hi,
I think it is essential to set the official ip and the correct hostname in the /etc/hosts file.
Per default there is the loopback IP bound to the hostname and localhost, you should change this to the desired IP.
it should be something like this:
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
    192.168.1.1 yourhost.yourdomain yourhost
Otherwise you will face some other nasty side-effects, with nfs for example.
    Hope that helps
    Michael
