Database: pages above each other

For some reason my address database is being shown in facing pages (actually 2 views open each time I open this file).
I can't find a way to get rid of the facing pages option.
Can someone help.

Go to the Format menu > Page > deselect button Facing pages. I hope the words are right, I only have a swedish version and had to translate.

Hi there,
the "Layout" feature allows only to present two photos on a page next to each other, but not one above the other (if they are more "panorama"-kind-of-photos).
Is there any possibiliy to change that?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. How Unlink Master Pages from Each Other

When I create a new master page, even if it isn't based on an existing one, changes I make in the order of layers in that master page are applied to the other master pages as well. And when I change the order of layers in other master pages, the order changes in the new one. Please help me unlink these. I've found mentions that this can be done, but not specific instructions for how. Thank you!!!!

On your new master page, Shift+Command+Click on the item you want to change. You can then drag it to a new layer from within the layers pallet by dragging the colored dot next to the layer it's currently on to the layer you would like it to be on.

That will work, if you are setting just one spread with 4 pages and not chosing double side pages.
Step 1:
Create a new document with just one single page.
Do NOT chose "Double Sided", just "Single Sided"!
Step 2
Do not check "Allow Document Pages to Shuffle".
Add 3 pages to that document, move page 2-3 to the first spread.
(Now you have 4 pages in a row.)
Then Step 3:
Select the pages you want to move down one by one with the Pages tool and move them.
You can easily move them in x AND y direction.

Booklet with pages one above the other, not next to each other

I have sheets of paper that is 13cm wide and 20cm tall. It is perforated in the middle.
When I go to File | Booklet in InDesign CS4 I setup a booklet which tries to print 2 pages next to each other but of course these it not enough room.
What I need to do is have the two pages be one above the other to fit on the sheet of paper. But I am unable to find a way to do that.
Any hints?

Adobe Reader printing 4 pages, over top each other on 1 page

I created a form for my office in LiveCycle. It's 4 pages with lots of fields to input data. I extended features to Reader users, which is what my coworkers use when they fill it out. It worked fine for several months. Suddenly, the form is printing all 4 of it's pages over top of each other on 1 page.
I've printed the same file from a different computer on a different printer, and it comes out fine. I've also printed it from a different computer, to the same printer, and it comes out fine. So, therefore, I believe the problem lies with that specific machine, and/or perhaps its Reader settings. But I've gone through all the print and document settings and can't find anything that looks out of the ordinary.
Can anyone shed some light on what might be causing this? Is it a print setting, or is there a way to reset Reader's settings to default?

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Some pages will run text and pictures together, like a car rear-ending another or a train pile up. Other pages will cut an image or text short, i.e. it will display a portion of the top of the image or text but not the rest. This happens on Amazon for example, the section where it says "Customers who looked at this also looked at" will allow only a certain amount of the upper portion of the description immediately below the picture of the product but below that section everything is fine until I get to another section displaying more products and their descriptions and then it cuts the bottom portions off again. I've noticed this behavior mostly in the sections with product photos, the text sections seem okay. YouTube also displays this behavior. It's even doing it on this page right now. Below this box I can read "The more information you can provide the better chance your question will be answered " , but directly below that in the next sentence I can see the start of it with "Troublshootin" and the "Automatically Add" in a green field covering the "g". I tried turning of pre-fetching, clearing history, cookies, and cache, scanning for malware with Avast and Windows Defender all to no avail. It began when I upgraded from dial up to DSL via AT&T Uverse. I have a Motorola NVG510 modem. The modem was replaced an hour ago along with new dedicated lines and DSL/Phone splitter from the box by an AT&T technician to make sure my incoming lines were up to par. He ran a connection test and verified everything is up to standards. IE does not display this behavior. I am running Firefox20.0.1 and all previous versions have acted the same way since I upgraded to DSL about 3 months ago.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.

Since my iPad IOS was updated to 7.0.4, when I send a Pages doc as a Word docx to my kindle the text is all scrunched up down one side as if the letters are on top of each other. It worked find before and the docx are OK when imported to Word.

Since my iPad 2 was updated to IOS 1.0.4, I cannot send a docx from Pages to my kindle. I can to my PC and open it in Word. But when I send a pages document and select Word as the format, the letters appear on my kindle screen down the left side, printed on top of each other. It worked fine before the upgrade. Any suggestions?

What version of Pages are you using? Did you upgrade to Pages 2.1 for iOS?

How do I adjust the page orientation in Pages? I want to keep the pages above the section break as portrait, and the ones below I want to change into landscape. Is this possible? I can only get it to be one or the other but not both.

The work around is to do two documents, one in portrait format and one in landscape format. When finished export to Pdf. open in Preview by select both files and use Cmd + O or doubleclick. You can now in Previews thumbnail column the pages from one document into the other and then save.
If you have created only one with i.e. all pages in portrait format but with the content for the landscape pages rotated on the pages, you can rotate the pages in Preview. Two ways to get the same result.

Possible to assign two pages in a spread to each other?

My employer takes publisher PDFs and creates a version they can view in a browser and/or an iPad app. We received one PDF with some traits I've not seen. Whenever we try to crop all the pages in the combined PDF (yes we clicked "All"), it tries to force the cropping to apply to several page pairs. Each of these pages within the pairs appear as normal individual pages as you scroll through the PDF. The only thing distinguishing these pairs is that the graphic designer obviously intended for them to be two-page spreads.
Could it be there's a setting in Acrobat Pro X that "tells" pages they belong to each other? Something that would cause them to not process separately in the crop function?
Google search didn't turn up an answer.

The link below goes to a combined image. The top left is several pages in Acrobat thumbnail view. Top right is what happens to pages 2 and 3 after entire PDF is cropped. If I click either 2 or 3 now, the larger view (bottom screen capture) shows how Acrobat is both cropping AND combining pages. Bizarre.

My first guess is the same as yours, which is a "zoom" issue. Holding down the Command key and pressing 0 (zero) should reset the zoom level of the current site to the standard level. Is that still too small?
Regarding content overlapping, this can occur for a few different reasons. Please check on these:
(1) "Text Only" zoom
If View menu > Zoom > Zoom Text Only has a checkmark, click it again to unselect it.
(2) Manually setting font sizes
In the Preferences dialog (either the "3-bar" menu button or the Firefox menu) > Content > "Advanced" button
If the Minimum font size is set to a number larger than 9, change it to 9 or None. A large minimum font size often will wreck the layout.
At the top, there is "Fonts for" drop-down that usually will say Latin or Other Writing Systems. You will want to make the same change for both of those, so select whichever one isn't currently displayed.
Finally, make sure the checkbox for "Allow pages to choose their own fonts" is checked and OK out of the dialog.

You messaged me that the contact sheet look is what want but w/o spaces.
One method is to actually start with the PSE contact sheet tool. I assume your version has it (mine is PSE 2). Maybe your version has an option to remove spaces; mine doesn't. In this example I created a sheet of 4 rows and 3 columns, with the option to not flatten the layers. Each picture appears on a separate layer.
On each row I moved the left and right pics inward to remove the spaces between the pics:
Activate the Move tool. Click on the left pic and use the arrow keys to move it inward. Same with the right pic.
Now to remove the spaces between the rows. To make this easier. lock together the pics on each row. Here I locked the pics on the top row, then used the arrow keys to move the row as a unit downward. An alternative method would be to merge the 3 pics on each row and move that merged layer. Do the same for the remaining rows.
This method works of course if the pictures are all the same size and all aligned vertical or horizontal.
If you don't want to use the contact sheet tool (e.g., if the pics are different sizes or alignment) you can do this:
Create a blank canvas.
Open a picture, select it (Select > All) and copy to the clipboard (Edit > Copy).
Activate the blank canvas and Edit > Paste. The picture will be placed on its own layer.
Do the same with the remaining pics and use the Move tool with mouse and/or arrow keys to position them where you want.
The advantage of the first method is that the rows and columns are precisely aligned. Using the mouse to align the pictures could be a little tricky.

Lightweight APs seeing neighbors several floors above and below each other

Hello All,
I noticed in our PI 2.1 that our access points are seeing neighbors several floors above and below each other. For example. I have an AP thats at least 2 floors below ground that's seeing an AP on the 6th floor. The controller TPC is set to a fix value of 5 on the 2.4 band. What's even more strange is that the person reporting constant disconnects is on this level below ground but is connected to an AP on the 6th Floor when there's an AP right outside of the door where she is physically located. Any ideas of what to do or look for?

I wouldn't blame you if you put a low rating in my previous recommendation about disabling Band Select. I am wrong. I got confused with Client Load Balancing. Client Load Balancing should be disabled. I am wrong and I apologize for the confusion.
Make sure you choose TPCv1 and NOT v2. You can set DCA Channel Assignment Method to 24 hours. This prevents the WLC changing channels regularly. Make sure when you enable "24-hours" you set this very early or very late in the afternoon so no one is there. Alternatively, you can reboot the WLC at midnight.
