Database Results Wizard Error The Operation Failed

we moved a database from sql 2005 to sql 2008 r2. We also have IIS 7.5 installed. This is a photo database for our parts. The problem is this, we are using a ASP search page that was created with Fron Page 2003. This asp page works fine on the old Windows
2003 server with SQL 2005. I think this is a security issue for this reason. If I change the system dsn on the 2003 server to point to the new 2008 sql server,  I get the same error message. Please help I have been going at this for over a week and our
production department is needing as soon as I can get it going.John C. Teemplin

Hello,
Thanks to have shared your solution, even the problem was not related with SQL Server Data Access and it is so rare.

  • Newsfeed error - The operation failed because the server could not access the distributed cache.

Recently installed SharePoint 2013 RTM, on the newsfeed page an error is displayed, and no entries display in the following or everyone tabs.
"The operation failed because the server could not access the distributed cache."
Reading through various posts, I've checked:
    - Activity feeds and mentions tabs are working as expected.
    - User Profile Service is operational and syncing as expected
    - Search is operational and indexing as expected
    - The farm was installed based on the autospinstaller scripts.
    - Don't believe this to be a permissions issue, during testing added accounts to the admin group to verify
    Any suggestions are welcomed, thanks.
The full error message and trace logs is as follows.
SharePoint returned the following error: The operation failed because the server could not access the distributed cache. Internal type name: Microsoft.Office.Server.Microfeed.MicrofeedException. Internal error code: 55. Contact your system administrator

  • Outlook 2013 Changing Shared Calendar Appointment Categories causes error The Operation failed the messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error

    Hi
Our user used to be able to change the categories in a shared outlook calendar appointment but is now getting the error:
The Operation failed the messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook.
We have tried re-creating the mail profile but still get the same error.
If anyone has any other suggestions, that would be great, thanks.

Glad to hear that it works fine in new profile. It seems your old OST file or other file in profile is corrupted. After you create a new profile, Outlook would re-sync your mailbox to a totally new OST as the data file.

  • DocumentItem.GetInspector throw error "The operation failed"

I try to get a reference to the Word Document of a DocumentItem but I get the error "The operation failed" on the DocumentItem.GetInspector Property.
The GetInspector Property work as expected with a MailItem but I would prefer to use a DocumentItem since its content is not protected like with a MailItem.
Is there a way to get a reference to the Word Document object of a DocumentItem via GetInspector or via any other way?

There is no inspector for the document items - when you call DocumentItem.Display, Outlook opens the attachment in the application responsible for handling that particular file type.
What exactly and why are you trying to do?

    Hi,
Please follow below steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Please use Scanpst.exe tool to to repair your data file. Please refer to this article on how to use scanpst.exe:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/repair-outlook-data-files-pst-and-ost-HA102749454.aspx
Try to start Outlook in safe mode and see if issue presists. I understand that you have already tried manually removing add-ins, but please try to launch Outlook client in safe mode and see if there is any difference. Conflicts with one or more of the add-ins
    might cause this problem.
Try to disable your Anti Virus and have a try again.
Please have a try and feel free to post back.

    Hi quodd,,
We are sorry for the issue being faced by you. I need some information from you so that I take further steps:
    1. Which Adobe product are you using Acrobat or Adobe reader- what is the complete version?
    2. How are you opening and saving the PDF, the exact workflow?
Are you doing it from within Adobe Reader/Acrobat application or opening it from browser, doing changes and saving it using browser itself.
    3. Can you try to save a PDF to library with Custom template and managed metadata columns using browser directly.
    4. Please verify that columns name do not contain spaces or some other special characters.
Can you try to save PDF to library with Custom template and just a single managed metadata column  with a simple name

  • Outlook 2013 Exchange 2013 Address Book Error 0x8004010F : The operation failed. An object cannot be found.

    Hi,
We have Exchange 2013 running in our network, and are using Outlook 2013 on all PCs. We added some users several weeks ago, and they are not showing up in the Address Book. When we try to download the Address Book in Outlook, we receive the error 0x8004010F
: The operation failed. An object cannot be found.
Please let me know how I can start to troubleshoot this.
    Regards,
    Chris

    Hi
There is a multiple reason to receive an error 0x8004010f, it is just a generic MAPI error.
Let’s check all settings are configured the way it is supposed to be: -
    1.    Make sure the authentication setting is set up properly by using this command: -
Get-OabVirtualDirectory -ADPropertiesOnly | ft Identity, *Auth* -AutoSize
    2.    Check URL’S are configured properly: -
Get-OabVirtualDirectory -ADPropertiesOnly | ft Identity, *url* -AutoSize
    3.    Check the location of OAB: -
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\OAB
    4.    Now find out the location of the database on which the Arbitration mailbox resides: -
    Get-Mailbox -Arbitration | where {$_.PersistedCapabilities -like “*OAB*”} | ft Name, Servername, Database
    Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus MGUxxx
    5.    It is also important to ensure all database has the OAB set up properly for this use CMDLET: -
    Get-MailboxDatabase | Ft Name, *book*
    6.    If one or more database does not have OAB setup, then use CMDLET to set OAB for it: -
Get-Mailboxdatabase | Set-MailboxDatabase -OfflineAddressBook “Default Offline Address Book”
    7.    If the issue is affecting only one or specific set of users, then check they have an OAB specified on their account: -
    Get-Mailbox abc.xyz | fl Name, OfflineAddressBook,Database
Please correct me if the information that I am having is wrong.
    Reply awaited.
    Thanks and regards

  • Error: Load operation failed for query 'GetAuthenticationInfo'. The remote server returned an error: NotFound.

    Hello,
I have a lightswitch web-application in development, which I need to copy from one computer to the other. I have tried doing it both through Git and by simply copying the solution and opening the project on another machine. The project builds without errors,
but when I try to debug it, it opens a web-browser, loads to 100% and pops up an error - Load operation failed for query 'GetAuthenticationInfo'. The remote server returned an error: NotFound.
Now, I have tried repairing Visual Studio on my machine, reinstalling .NET framework and setting  <basicAuthentication enabled="false" /> in web.config, yet it still does not run.
When using Fiddler, it shows an error while loading the application - "HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error" , which I honestly don't know what it means.
The application uses ComponentOne and Telerik modules, but they are both installed on both machines.
The application does run perfectly on the original machine, but it is not working on any other one.
Both machines are using Win 8.1 and Visual Studio 2013 Update 4.
I have tried to look this up online, but most people's problem are when they are deploying the app, not just debugging. I would be really happy for any help with this issue.
    Thanks!

I have the same problem on one of my development machines. Whenever I create a new project, the System.IdentityModel.Tokens.Jwt nuget package is not referenced properly. The project compiles correctly but you are not able to debug as I get the same error
    as you.
If you open up your references and there is an error next to any of your references make sure that you correct them. In the case of the jwt reference error, I have to remove the jwt reference and then add it back from the packages folder.
This may not be your problem but could point you in a direction?

The user upgraded from Outlook 2010 a few months ago and the error message has only recently started appearing on startup. I thought it was a corrupt mail profile, so I have already tried creating a new mail profile, as well as the repairing tool in Outlook.
I even tested another email account and that worked just fine. So apparently it is something wrong with the specific user's account/profile and not something wrong with the computer - since my email account worked fine on his computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same error message, only in my situation Outlook would only open successfully every 4 or 5 attempts. When Outlook would open (versus just hanging at the splash screen), I would get two dialog boxes with the warning/error message.
After I clicked okay I could get into Outlook.
Previously I experienced this problem running my Office 2010 client with my Exchange 2007 mailbox on my old laptop.  The problem followed my mailbox through an Exchange 2010 migration (so new Exchange org), client upgrade to Outlook 2013, and a new
laptop (so I knew it wasn't a corrupt profile).  This led me to the conclusion that it was a corrupt item(s) in my mailbox.
To resolve the issue, I archived *everything* in my mailbox to a PST file, ran SCANPST to fix the corruption, and then uploaded everything back into my Exchange mailbox one folder at a time, stopping after each folder to close and restart Outlook so I could
narrow down which folder had the corrupt item if the problem recurred.  I'm happy to say my issue is now resolved.

I have tried recreating her mail profile.
I have also tried kb2593557. The auto fix didn't work at all and the registry fix only removes the error message and not the problem. This client would like to be able to edit her delegate permissions.
    She is on Exchange 2010

    Hi,
Disk defrag is initiated when a volume shrink is attempted. See if there is any problem defragging a volume and correct any problems doing that.
