DataBase unavailable and Mirrored Db role has chnaged.

Hello All,
We got below errors in our principal and Mirror db servers.
1) The mirroring connection to "TCP://servername.domain.com:5022" has timed out for database "Db name" after 10 seconds without a response.  Check the service and network connections.(Mirror Server).
2) Database mirroring is inactive for database 'DB Name'. This is an informational message only. No user action is required.(Pricipal)
2) The command failed because the database mirror is busy. Reissue the command later. .(Pricipal)
3) The mirrored database "Db" is changing roles from "PRINCIPAL" to "MIRROR" because the mirroring session or availability group failed over due to role synchronization. This is an informational message only. No user action
is required. .(Pricipal)
Before the first error we got an alert that db is unavailable. After 1 min of this alert the issue has started.
After a successful fail-over of that particular db to mirror again it was rolled back to principle automatically. After that I can see a server shut down with below errors.and mirroring failed on all the dbs.
Database mirroring connection error 4 'The connection was closed by the remote end, or an error occurred while receiving data: 55(The specified network name is no longer available.)'' for 'TCP://Server Name.Domain.com:5022'.(Mirror)
Database mirroring connection error 4 'An error occurred while receiving data: '1054(An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)'.' 'TCP://Server Name.Domain.com:5022'. .(Mirror)
SQL Server is terminating because of a system shutdown. This is an informational message only. No user action is required. (Pricipal)
The connection has been lost with Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC). Recovery of any in-doubt distributed transactions involving Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) will begin once the connection is re-established.
This is an informational message only. No user action is required. (Pricipal)
SQL Server cannot accept new connections, because it is shutting down. The connection has been closed. [CLIENT: IP. (Pricipal)
I am very confused that why this db unavailable before the issue. I don’t have any information about this.
Can some body help me to find out the root cause why this unexpected fail over and
 sql shutdown.

Hello,
It looks like something was updated or done to the end system as:
 'An error occurred while receiving data: '1054(An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)'
Is generally caused by a firewall. Please double check software and hardware firewalls (including endpoint protection software) and make sure the exceptions for port 5022 tcp exist.

    Hi,
    I have a created a cloud service and when i run locally in azure emulator it works fine. But when I am trying to deploy that to azure it says: Restarting (Role has encountered an error and has stopped.
    Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException)
    Can anyone please help me on this.
    Thanks,

    Any specific reason you are having timer on role start up? are you using thread.sleep for longer duration in the method?
    If you are using azure diagnostics - make sure these things
    1. Azure storage connection string is set to correct storage account and not to the development storage.
    2. Check session state provider - local is not supported on azure.
    Also you can refer this for more information

  • Customised Oracle Application and access to roles - Discoverer 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi Gurus!
    We are developing a customised Oracle application where we have users and roles...user - role mapping is done in the system administration module of the application.
    Now, we are also developing Oracle discoverer reports based on this. Using 10g (10.1.2.0.2) for that.
    When I am creating an EUL, I select 'New EUL for Oracle Applications users only' option, but, I do not have any 'FND schema' to specify. That's where I'm stuck up!
    I want to give access to the 'roles' in tha same manner as I would give to the 'responsibilities' in Oracle Apps. But, I don't know how to do it here.
    Can someone guide me on this?
    Thanks and regards,
    Aparna

    Hi Aparna
    If your application is not E-Business Suite you cannot install Discoverer into Apps mode. This mode is reserved for applications which are E-Business Suite, which basically tells Discoverer to use authenticate users using the FND tables owned by the APPLSYS user.
    In your case, even though you appear to be using Oracle applications, because you want to take advantage of your roles you will have to install Discoverer into standard mode. As you are creating your EUL you need to uncheck the box which says grant access to PUBLIC and make this a private EUL. Then you will not have the headache of worrying about setting up new users. You simply manage what a role can do (Tools | Privileges) and what a role has access to (Tools | Security).
    Now, when any any user connects to Discoverer their role will be evaluated and access will be restricted.
    You can do the same thing using a PUBLIC EUL, except you need to reduce what that user can do (Tools | Privileges) to an absolute minimum, and then take control of this using roles. For example, you could have a set of functional roles, one each for say AP, AR, GL and so on, but you could further break this down by privilege, thus you could have roles called AP Viewer, AP User, AR Viewer, AR User and so on. The User roles would have full access while the Viewer roles would have a much reduced set of privileges.
    You are basically setting up the Library approach that I discuss in my Discoverer 10g Handbook and in my white paper which you will find on my downloads page here: http://learndiscoverer.com/downloads/downloads.htm.
    I hope this helps

    Anybody ever get any events like this before? I'm not finding much or nothing on Google or on other forums, so I thought I would run it past and see if anyone has experienced anything of a similar
    nature. And yes, the farm account obviously has creator/secadmin permissions, at this point of our deployment....
    I look forward to any and all feedback. Thanks and good afternoon!

    I figured out the answer to this myself. For those few who might run into something akin to my error...
    During the off-hours of where I work, I re-applied the farm account credentials to all dB server VM SQL services that had the account for a log-on (i.e., MSSQLSERVER, SQLSERVERAGENT, etc.) as well as all SharePoint services on our WFE/App Server VM (a two
    server farm is what we host), in that order. Then I rebooted the dB server first, followed by the SharePoint server. Upon coming back, everything was working fine again. I was able to provision a site, no probelm, and it seemed to even be a little snappier
    when doing so.
    One note: doing this procedure gave me a "One or more services have started or stopped unexpectedly" error in the Health Analyzer, for the SPTimerV4 service. When you get this, simply enter into the item and click on "Reanalyze Now;" this will quickly clear
    the error out of the Analyzer, and all should be right with the world! :)

    I updated my computer to the new software and now the iPhoto has a circle with a line through it.  When I first try to open it the pop us says: "You can't use this version of the application "iPhoto" with this version of OS X. Version: 9.2.1"  When I try to update, it pops up to say "These apps cannot be accepted by your apple id - These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID and they will be available in that Apple ID's purchases list.  If you don't have access to that Apple ID and want to receive future updates, you will need to purchase the application".  I checked and there is nothing under the "purchases" in my App store.  Then will say "update unavailable with this apple id - This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or canceled." Then the third pop up says "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store.  Please try again".  Just want to know how do to fix.

    After I upgraded to Mavericks I was also having this message when I tried to update. There was a previous post about this problem which offered this simple solution which worked for me:

    Got it! Thanx.  What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.

    Can you merge two user accounts on a macbook? my wife has created a new user on her new macbook air then, inadvertently, created a second one when using the migration tool. 1st a/c has her office 365 install, while 2nd has her itunes database, docs and contacts. What is the best way forward to get everything into the one account? Not sure if the office 365 will allow another installation into the second account, otherwise would just do that and delete the first, if that is possible?

    There is no merge but you can move data from one account to another via the Shared folder. Data is copied from Shared. Watch your free space when copying. These are large files.  Do one at a time if you are on a small drive. After making copy, delete from other users before you start next copy.
    Office365 installs in the main Applications folder and is available for all users on the computer. Activation is tied to the drive not the User.

    iPhoto 9.5.1 has suddenly got all blank photos.  If I scroll through the photos they appear briefly and disappear.  I have not updated to Yosemite - I am still running Mavericks on an iMac.  I have been through the database rebuild and repair routines.  I uploaded photos and movies three days ago and all was well.  Then I used the migration assistant to copy from Time Machine to a new Macbook Air and noticed blank photos.  I thought it was a problem with the Macbook Air, but then I went back to the iMac to check and they were all blank as well.

    what does appear after the photo "flashes"?
    Have you repaired permissions? If not backup your iPhoto library and option-command launch and repair permissions - then repair the database and if needed rebuild the database
    If that does not do it down iPhoto Library Manager on the iMac and use the free trial's rebuild command to create a totally new library leaving the existing one alone
    Once you have the iMac working correctly then connect the two systems together (or use an external drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) ) and drag the iPhoto library form the iMac to the pictures folder of the MBA (rather than migration assistant)

  • BSOD on Server 2012 running dfs namespace and dfs replication roles with deduplication

    Hello,
    I have recently setup 2 dfsn & dfsr servers, both 2012 one physical the other virtual.
    The idea is to have one server as primary and the other as a failover \ DR.
    The primary server is virtual and connects via mpio \ iscsi to a dell san, using the provided dell DSM Drivers.
    The secondary server is physical with local disk for storage.
    I copy files to a namespace setup to always prefer the primary server, these files are then replicated across to the secondary.
    I have also turned on deduplication on both servers to get the most out of the available storage.
    This has been working well for 6 months or so, there have however been 2-3 occasions where the primary virtual server has crashed and blue screened causing the DFSR database to undergo a full consistency check.
    The bug check errors i have managed to extract from the Memory.dmp and mini dump are as follows:
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis
    REFERENCE_BY_POINTER (18)
    Arguments:
    Arg1: 0000000000000000, Object type of the object whose reference count is being lowered
    Arg2: fffffa80379a3070, Object whose reference count is being lowered
    Arg3: 0000000000000002, Reserved
    Arg4: ffffffffffffffff, Reserved
        The reference count of an object is illegal for the current state of the object.
        Each time a driver uses a pointer to an object the driver calls a kernel routine
        to increment the reference count of the object. When the driver is done with the
        pointer the driver calls another kernel routine to decrement the reference count.
        Drivers must match calls to the increment and decrement routines. This bugcheck
        can occur because an object's reference count goes to zero while there are still
        open handles to the object, in which case the fourth parameter indicates the number
        of opened handles. It may also occur when the object?s reference count drops below zero
        whether or not there are open handles to the object, and in that case the fourth parameter
        contains the actual value of the pointer references count.

    I have searched for others having a similar problem but have not managed to find much.
    The memory dump at the time of the crash does seem to hint at a problem with DFSR.exe.
    The setup seems to be running fine again now and is going through its consistency checks, it is just a major inconvenience and will only get worse as the DFS becomes busier and approaches capacity.
    The plan was to put this setup into production however with the unpredictability of blue screen reboots I cannot see this happening until I can find a fix or work around.
    I have yet to see this problem occur on the other (physical) server, this is pretty much identical in configuration apart from its storage access.
    My thoughts are a possible bug in the DFSR component or a bug in the DSM Drivers used for the iSCSI SAN connection or maybe a combination of the two.
    Any help, thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated
    Thanks

  • Database Vault Owner Grant Any Role Permission

    So I just noticed that the role DV_OWNER has the system privilege to GRANT ANY ROLE assigned to it by default. I was wondering if this is necessary for something. If not I would like to remove it. We would prefer the Database Vault owner person to not have any permissions execept for logging into the Data Vault console to modify realms and rules and stuff, and as well as looking at audit logs. The DV_OWNER role also has ADMINISTER DATABASE TRIGGER and ALTER ANY TRIGGER privileges which I would like to remove as well. Any body have any opinions on this?
    Oracle EE 11.2.0.2 on Windows 2008 R2
    Thanks.

    Sysdba can issue powerful statements such as create user, drop user, alter user, create profile .. and so on... can be done only if it is allowed so by modifying the Can maintain accounts/profiles rule set.
    You can also login with dvsys account but that account is locked after installation. So unlock it with
    alter user username account unlock; command. And be aware that ANY system privileges are blocked in protected schemas. You can try to grant the following roles in DB Vault := DV_OWNER, DV_REALM_OWNER, DV_REALM_RESOURCE, DV_ADMIN, DV_PUBLIC, DV_ACCTMGR, DV_SECANALYST
    Following can help you
    SELECT TABLE_NAME, OWNER, PRIVILEGE FROM DBA_TAB_PRIVS WHERE GRANTEE = 'DV_ACCTMGR';
    SELECT PRIVILEGE FROM DBA_SYS_PRIVS WHERE GRANTEE = 'DV_ACCTMGR';

  • Difference Between Database Schema and Database User Account ??

    First i would like to know what an Oracle Database schema exactly is ?
    And what is it for and also What is it's use ?
    Later the exact "Difference Between Database Schema and Database User Account".

    Please try to explain in a simple manner........
    Thank you very Much in Advance..........

    user13655582 wrote:
    Greate example. but i would like add one more point..
    a user is a schema and schema is a user. but when this applies to the user that he become a schema, only if he has got some objects. so we can say while creating the user which dosent contain any objects called simple user account but afterwords when he has got an objects then we can say its a schema as the above user has shown you through the exampleIt is just word-play. There is nothing in like a 'status' indicator to say "USER_A is just a user but USER_B has become a schema". Many people use the terms "user" and "schema" interchangeably, and some very good DBAs will insist this is correct. I don't disagree with them even though I usually try to make the distinction.
    In a typical application, all of the objects (tables, procedures, etc) that implement the app will be owned by a "application schema owner" - a user which exists for the sole purpose of owning the schema. Said user will have no privileges at all .. especially not CREATE SESSION. Except for possible maintenance activity no one ever actually connects as this user. User accounts are then given to actual humans who connect with their own accounts. The accounts have the necessary system and object privileges granted to them - via a role. One could also create a special account (let's call it APP_ADMIN) that is used for maintenance and batch operations within the application.

  • Packages unavailable from mirrors

    Hi,
    Until yesterday I was an Ubuntu user but today I installed Arch Linux. It went very well until I tried to install KDE. When pacman is trying to download the necessary packages for KDE, it successfully downloads all but:
    * soprano-2.1.67-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
    * mysql-5.0.75-3.i686.pkg.tar.gz
    * system-config-printer-1.1.1-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz
    At first I only used the belnet (Belgium) mirror so I thought maybe it was due to the fact that it wasn't synchronized with the other mirrors or something like that. However, I added all the servers located in USA and Europe to /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and none of them has those packages. They all say something similar to
    "error: failed retrieving file 'system-config-printer-1.1.1-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz' from ftp.hosteurope.de : File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)."
    I reinstalled pacman, did about 30 times "pacman -Syy" but nonetheless he can't find the packages. What is the problem?
    Hope someone can help me,
    Yoran

    They all seem to be on the server you linked.  You could download them individually and install them with pacman -U <pkgname>:
    ftp://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/ftp.arch … pkg.tar.gz
    ftp://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/ftp.arch … pkg.tar.gz

  • Database owner and database user with db_owner permission

    we deployed a java hibernate application which creates the database tables on deployment. A login is created and mapped for the database as the user. For that login the db_owner role is given. On the deployment we received an error mentioning execute permission
    issue.
    the same process is done and this time the login is created but not mapped as the user. the login is assigned as the database owner from the database property. this time the deployment worked fine.
    what is the difference between setting the login as database owner and setting as a user with db_owner role.

    The error i received was "the execute permission was denied on the object 'sp_tables'........".
    I solved this issue by giving db_owner permission to master database for the relevant user.
    In my local computer i didn't give permission to master database. I have only assign the user as the owner of the database and deployment was success.
    But this error comes in another place where I implement the system.
    if your application is not only a desktop application without anything critical on it, then I strongly advise to stay away from making anybody db_owner in the
    master-database. That's THE system database. It's easy to take over that system for such an account then.
    I am a bit surprised you are getting this error in that context. Originally the public role should have execute permission on it. So it seems someone has changed the defaults permissions (for hardening purposes?) Then reverting to original state is much
    less harmful than the db_owner role.

  • What is Database Commit and Database Rollback.

    What is Database Commit and Database Rollback.

    Hi Sir ,
    Please have a look below .Hope it is suitable and simpler solution for your question.
    Please do reward if useful.
    Thankx.
    In database level this will be used..
    Commit is nothing but SAVE the current record..
    If u rol back before commit means whatever u proceeded for the SAVING will be roll back and the data will not be stored..
    This will be used,When some times u r filling a register form..after filling 20 fields,In the 21st field u will not to registrer means it will be rollbacked using the Rollbeck command.
    In detail--->
    ROLLBACK->
    In a ROLLBACK, all the changes made by a transaction or a subtransaction on the database instance are reversed.
    · Changes closed with a COMMIT can no longer be reversed with a ROLLBACK.
    · As a result of a ROLLBACK, a new transaction is implicitly opened.
    In normal database operation, the database system performs the required ROLLBACK actions independently. However, ROLLBACK can also be explicitly requested using appropriate SQL statements.
    In a restart, the system checks which transactions were canceled or closed with a ROLLBACK. The actions are these transactions are undone.
    COMMIT->
    In a COMMIT, all the changes made by a transaction or a subtransaction on the database instance are recorded.
    · Changes closed with a COMMIT can no longer be reversed with a ROLLBACK.
    · As a result of a COMMIT, a new transaction is implicitly opened.
    In normal database operation, the database system performs the required COMMIT actions independently. However, COMMIT can also be explicitly requested using appropriate SQL statements.
    In a restart, the system checks which transactions were closed with a COMMIT. These actions are redone. Transactions not yet closed with a COMMIT are undone.
    From the point of view of database programming, a database LUW is an inseparable sequence of database operations that ends with a database commit. The database LUW is either fully executed by the database system or not at all. Once a database LUW has been successfully executed, the database will be in a consistent state. If an error occurs within a database LUW, all of the database changes since the beginning of the database LUW are reversed. This leaves the database in the state it was in before the transaction started.
    the statements
    COMMIT WORK.
    and
    ROLLBACK WORK.
    for confirming or undoing database updates. COMMIT WORK always concludes a database LUW and starts a new one. ROLLBACK WORK always undoes all changes back to the start of the database LUW.
