  • Problem in creation of .ard file

    Hi Experts
I am developing .ard file for a add-on using B1DE1.5 in SAP 2007B PL08 . Visual Studio is 2008. I have created a add-on . It was running successfully. Then I select File->Add-> New Project.    Here I select SAP B1 Add-OnInstaller .Net Wizard
This wizard Ask for file .exe, UI DLL, DI DLL and Wizard DLL. I add all these files. It finished successfully.  I Rebuild this project . then I search the .ard file in BIN folder but could not find anywhere. Can anyone suggest me for this problem.
    Regards
    Gorge

    Hi Gorge,
In the same folder as bin folder, you should find a AddOnRegDataGenFile folder. In this, you'll find a .bat file which you need to run in order to generate the .ard file.

  • Problem in creation of ARD using B1DE 1.5

    Hi Experts
I have develop an AddOn using B1DE 1.5. It is working properly. Now I want to create ARD file of addon . I use 'SAP B1 AddOnInstaller.Net wizard to create ARD file. I follow all the setps of wizard. It finish without any error. But it does not create ARD file in Bin folder. What can be problem ? Please suggest me.
    Thanks

    Jitender,
You could manually create the ARD file by using the AddOnRegDataGen.exe.  If you search the SDK Help file for "Create a Registration Data File", you will find the documentation that tells you how to do this.
With respect to B1DE ... if you actually go to the folder where you save your projects and open the installer project you created, as an example ...\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\B1AddOnInstallerNET1\B1AddOnInstallerNET1\B1AddOnInstallerNET1\
... in the ...\AddOnRegDataGenFile there should be an AddOnRegDataGen.bat file.  You can try to also manually execute this to see if the .ARD file gets created.  If it still does not it could be due to a pathing issue .bat file.  You may want to check that the paths are correct.
Again ... worst case you can manually create the .ARD file as stated above.

  • ARD Stuck in a loop - Client does not match administrator

I have looked through these new forums and have not found an answer.
For a few years I have had ARD 3.4 running on OSX.5.8 It started as v3.2 and has been upgraded a few times with no real trouble. Over the weekend I updated the MacBook to OSX.6.7 and now I get the error "The Remote Desktop Client software on this computer does not match the Administrator software version." and it then directed me to run software update (or quit). Running software update finds no new software and directs me to quit.
    This is not very helpful.
I did find direction from 2007 in the forums to run RDAdm320.pkg (copied from the ARD CD to my computer) which is all well and good, but the installer gives me the error SU_TITLE can't be installed on this disk. ISDOWNGRADE" and so is a useless bit of advice.
I have also tried reinstalling the client, to no avail.
Am I to uninstall ARD and reinstall from the CD? If so, should I proceed to try and update it through Software Update or just leave well enough alone in the eventuality that this happens again? (As I recall, there were some bugs in v3.2 that made updating useful.)
Will my 'old' version of ARD even install in OSX.6.7?
    Thanks for the help.

Discovered that Screen Sharing was also broken (it hung after finding the (mounted) shared drive).
I got it all to work again by re-installing OSX6 from the DVD, then re-installing ARD 3.3 from the DVD THEN running software Upgrade.
Slow and boring and should not have been that much work - But I suppose that is just my opinion.

  • How do I connect to remote mac with ard without being prompted for username and pasword

I setup my Mac Pro to connect to my Macbook Pro (both on snow leopard at the time) with apple remote desktop when I used to select control on my Mac Pro I used to be able to start controlling my MBP straght away with out needing to enter a username or pasword.
When Lion came out I upgraded my Mac Pro and left my MBP on snw leoprd no settings on my MBP were changed I installed the ARD control software on my Mac Pro and when I clicked control I was requested to enter a username and password.
Does anyone know why I can no longer control my MBP without entering a username and pasword and how to setup ARD to allow me to do that?

Create a text file with name boot.properties in the directory <Domain_Home>/servers/<Server_Name>/security. The file must contain the following:
    username=<username>
    password=<password>
Replace <username> and <password> with the username and password of an WLS admin user (e.g. weblogic). They will be encrypted automatically by WLS at first boot.

  • Share Screen on ARD Does not work unless the user is logged on

Since Upgrading to Lion, I have been unable to get the Share Screen in Apple Remote Desktop fuction working from Any machine. All Clients are on the latest agent of ARD and are completely upto date.
When i try running the task when the clients are at the login screen, They just get a grey bar at the top of their screens. So it is recieveing the share screen task but not updating the image on the client machines.
The only alternative is to get the users to login before we start the share screen task in ARD.  The issue with this is teachers prefer to be able to put work onto the screens before the pupils have a chance to log in and mess around on the machines.
I have tried downgrading to ARDagent 3.4 on the clients, i have also tried turning off remote management and enabling again, like some have suggested.
It would be great if someone has found a solution to this.
    Thanks.

  • How can I delete local schedule tasks, if they do not show up in the left ARD pain

In ARD you can schedule task on the local machine.
Usually you can see the scheduled task in the left pain of the main window.
I deleated some schedules tasks, but the tasks continue excute every morning.
Is the a way to find these invisable scheduled tasks and remove them.
I would be happy to know if a data base needs to be edited or a file deleated
    Cheers

what dose the invisible task do?

  • Issue with ARD 3.0 not pushing out Installs, Says its installing but not

Issue with ARD 3.0 not pushing out Installs, Says its installing but not
Has anyone seen this. It seems to happen with ARD 3, have not seen this in ARD 2.
I go to the Install Packages on Target Computers, put in: 10.4.7 Combo (for the correct CPU, PPC or Intel), security updates, QT 7.1.2, etc.
Push it to Macs I can connect to, observe and control.
The progress bar copies the files (in some instances it does not) and then it just hangs there, bar does not move, Installs never finish, not good, very odd.

Is it the same clients that have the problem every time? Are those clients doing anything cpu intensive? Have you tried rebooting the affected clients?
Maybe try a smaller package on those clients.

  • Cisco ASA 5505 - EasyVPN - ARD can't scan remote Networks

    Hi all,
We have been installing Cisco ASA5505 to hook our systems and remote offices together.  Our first install went great, and I can scan the remote network no problem, this network is setup using the site to site VPN setup.
Since then we have added 3 more ASA5505 so the the mix, these are not running via the Site to Site VPN but are rather using the EZVPN.
On the Remote ASAs using EasyVPN, I cannot scan the networks with ARD or even Ping.
I am wondering if anyone has any insights on this?  I know this info is a bit sketchy...
I will post more as I get it.

ASAs are the default gw for respective LANs. For the point 2 if i trace the packets i can see that their are blocked

  • ARD works from inside network, but not from outside.

I can connect me MB to my G5 no problem when on the network inside my home. But if I'm on another network (and supply the correct IP address) I get an "ARD Not Active" error.
All seem to be well, both machine are up to date and this works locally.
    What's wrong?

That I can't tell. I travel and all I can do is open ports at home. I have no control over the hotel's systems.
This was up and working fine - now it just won't connect. Even for the same locations that used to work just fine.
    But perhaps this is something:
I recently installed Parallels Desktop. Now in the Network pref Pane, there are "Parallels Guest-Host" and "Parallels NAT".
That's new, could it be a clue?

  • Can ARD 3 be used for users who want to remote into a windows based server?

I have a couple users at the company I work at who will need to be able to remote into our Windows Server. These users all have Macs and will have to go about remoting in differently. I have done some research on Apple Remote Desktop but i am unsure if it fits my users needs. If I have someone download and install this software on a mac, will they then be able to remote into a windows based server using an IP address? that is my goal in mind  could get some help on this one I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    - Rich

I'm referring to what windows can do via Remote Desktop connection.
You open up the RDC dialog box, enter an external IP address (if working remotely) or a server name if working internally and connect right to the machine. Ideally i want my users to be able to log into our terminal server and be able to use a program remotely. they will have to log on to this server with company credentials. Basically from a mac, connecting up to a Windows Server and remotely logging into it to perform tasks.
I'm really just trying to find an easy way to do this for my user's with MAC's since it is not as straightforward as in windows. I cannot test anything out at home since i do not own a mac so i come to the community to see if you guys have had the same kind of situation before.
ARD was the first peice of software that looked like it might fit my needs but if it doesn't is there anything out there? is it for free or for a cost? any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • How do I enable the use of a USB MIDI controller over ARD?

I'm running Ableton Live on my Macbook Pro and I'm controlling the MBP with my little Macbook. OK - all well and good. Full keyboard/trackpad control. The problem is that when I plug my uc-33e controller into the Macbook, the commands do not get through! How do I go about enabling this?

You are not going to be able to connect a controller to your MacBook and have that controller accessed by your MacBook Pro. That's just not possible, with any remote control software I know of and certainly not with ARD. You're going to have to connect the controller directly to the MBP for applications on that system to be able to access the hardware, unless the developer of the app or the controller provide some sort of remote access capability, something I've never seen.

  • How do you set up Port Forwarding for ARD 2.2 in AEB N?

    Help,
I'm a novice at Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) - not an IT guy, so it has to be pretty basic and detailed.
How do you set up Port Forwarding for ARD 2.2 on the Apple Airport Extreme BS router, 802.11 N. I have one at each end of the internet connection. At one end I have an Airport Extreme N router with 2 macs and eventually 1 windows XP machine (if I can) that I would like to be able to connect to over the interenet (the clients) and at the other end, I have a Mac with ARD 2.2 installed also with an Airport Extreme N router. Note: Both routers use Static IP addresses and all computers use static IP's internally not through DHCP. What are the settings or directions to do this.
I have read and printed out the directions for Configuration of ARD 3.0 that are posted many times in the ARD discusion group, but it uses a Linksys router ( http://www.starkpr.com/ard.htm posted by Dave Sawyer). The Mac router is different, particularly with the place to set a Private IP address. I'm not sure about alot of things, but especially about the Private IP address, what number do I set it to, the one that is in my Network connections list? It automatically changes to a different number in AE N setup for Port Forwarding (by one) as if it is not suppose to the same?????
Are there any directions available that are as straight forward for the Airport Extreme N router, as the one's that are listed here for the Linksys Router's? ( http://www.starkpr.com/ard.htm )
Any and All help will be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I know I should have 3.0 but bought 2.2 just weeks before 3.0 came out and they would not give me an upgrade price, so I'm waiting for 4.0 to upgrade.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Try the following for each AirPort Extreme ...
    AEBSn - Port Mapping Setup
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the host device.
    Internet > DHCP tab
o On the DHCP tab, click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
o Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
o Reserve address by: MAC Address
    o Click Continue.
o MAC Address: <enter the MAC (what Apple calls Ethernet ID if you are using wired or AirPort ID if wireless) hardware address of the host computer>
    o IPv4 Address: <enter the desired IP address>
    o Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AEBSn.
    Advanced > Port Mapping tab
o Click the "+" (Add) button
o Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    o Public UDP Port(s): 3283
    o Public TCP Port(s): 3283
o Private IP Address: <enter the IP address of the host server>
    o Private UDP Port(s): 3283
    o Private TCP Port(s): 3283
    o Click "Continue"
o Click the "+" (Add) button
o Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    o Public UDP Port(s):

o Private IP Address: <enter the IP address of the host server>

  • ARD 3.2.2: Open Items doesn't work for share point application

I am using open items to open a Mackiev Kidpix network document on an ARD client. It used to work but suddenly it just failed, where it seemed that the client was not able to find the application to open the document.
Being a network version of KidPix, the application it self is located on a sharepoint instead of the application folder. I also tried to copy the KidPix to the application folder, but to no avail.
Other documents from from other applications work without a hitch. So I am sure it is not the ARD. I also called Apple and the software vendor, neither can give a solution to the issue.
If anybody can provide me with any help, I would really be grateful. At this point I do not know where to go about this.

i'm sorry. I wanted to say 3.1.1.21 version.

  • Can ARD 3 now share a screen across 2 different subnets

We have one central office. Clients access that office via a VPN. We can then share our screen with them as we work on a proof of a project.
It's a great solution, however, we can't with ARD 2.2 get it to work with two clients at once over the VPN.
An old Kbase article said that it wasn't possible to route screen sharing to two different subnets in the 2.2 version. But rather required all clients be on the same subnet.
Does anyone know or have the ability to test to see if this is different is 3.0. I'm hopeful that it is, as I can no longer find the old Kbase article saying that it wasn't possible.
    Thanks,
    Greg

Still no reply as to if this was resolved. I'm not so much worried about the move on the client side. As once we upgrade we have the luxury of upgrading everyone at once. I think that will be a smooth process.
However, our motivation to upgrade is dependant on wether or not the ability to route traffice over multiple subents is fixed or not. So we'll wait and see. If anyone can easily test this. I'd love to know. Sounds like a few other people are hoping to hear something as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Greg
