Datapump and Oracle Spatial (11.1.0.7 - 10.2.0.1)

Hi all,
I want to export a schema with expdp from a 11g database and import the created file to 10g database with impdp.
my export-commandline is as follow:
expdp system/***@db_01 schemas=grnfl directory=data_dump exclude=statistics logfile=grnfl.log reuse_dumpfiles=y version=10.2.0.1
with the version-parameter it is possible to import the file to 10g database.
I tried to import with:
impdp system/***@db_02 dumpfile=expdat.dmp logfile=grnfl_imp.log
there are no problems with all my tables without mdsys.sdo_geometry. but the tables with spatial are not imported with error-messages in logfile:
ORA-31693: Tabellendatenobjekt "GRNFL"."ANLAGE" konnte nicht geladen/entladen werden und wird wegen Fehler übersprungen:
ORA-02354: Fehler beim Exportieren/Importieren von Daten
ORA-39779: type "MDSYS"."SDO_GEOMETRY" not found or conversion to latest version is not possible
with old imp/exp I was able to add a parameter toid_novalidate to import dumpfiles from 11g database into 10g database.
Any idea what I can do to import mdsys.sdo_geometry correct?
Many Thanks,
Daniel

  • SVG and Oracle Spatial

    Hi,
We plan to develop a SVG based viewer for Oracle Spatial. But maybe there exist free components or similar experiences.
Is there any existing interface between SVG and Oracle spatial ?
Is it necessary to combine SVG with GML ?
    Regards

We have done this at FT by designing a mapping between SDO_GEOMETRY types and
SVG elements (eg point -> <text>; multipoint <g><text>...</g>) etc.
From this we let a contract to an external company (www.geometryit.com) who programmed
up some Java classes that allowed us to go from SDO_GEOMETRY <-> SVG. These were then
deployed within the database with before insert etc triggers automatically mapping between
the two (the SVG is stored alongside the SDO_GEOMETRY as a CLOB).
I can send you our documentation on this.
If you want access to the Java code, contact Andrew Betlehem at Geometry.
    regards

  • Oracle Open World in SanFrancisco and Oracle Spatial

    Hi,
This week is Oracle Open World in San Francisco, and while usually we try to keep this message board strictly technical, I wanted to mention that there are some interesting things happening here.
There are a few sessions Wednesday in Room 2016 starting at 3:00 pm:
Data Management on a Budget with Oracle 10g: Exploring Strategies and Tactics with the U.S. Geological Survey
by Nate Booth and Harold House, USGS
Oracle Database 10g Spatial Performance and Manageability Best Practices and German Rail Case Study
by Dan Abugov (me) and Andreas Hoefler, Fichtner Consulting & IT AG
I'm excited to be talking about Partitioning Best Practices, and we'll be posting the white paper here on OTN.
Finally, please come and see us at booth E28 in the Oracle DemoGrounds (we have Locator/Spatial, MapViewer, and Workspace Manager here in the pod). If you are the FIRST person to mention reading this posting on OTN when you visit the booth, we'll be happy to give you a copy of "Pro Oracle Spatial", the first book devoted to developing applications using Oracle Spatial. The book was written by Ravi Kothuri, Albert Godfrind (two Oracle Spatial Developers) and Euro Beinat of Geodan NL. One of the authors (Albert Godfrind) is here, and if you ask I'd bet he'd autograph it for you!
We also have a very limited supply of the book we'll be giving out over the course of the conference.
Of course, everyone who stops by will get the Oracle Spatial mini CD which includes viewlets, white papers, and more.
The book is also available here:
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1590593839/qid=1102358585/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-9450919-8639226?v=glance&s=books

    Hello,
Take a look at this page, http://www.oracle.com/technology/events/oracle-openworld-2007/index.html
There are links here to the whole OOW (social network,twitter,blog/flicker)osphere I think the new buzzword being "Social Graph" that covers all that.
But anyway there are tons of ways for people to sign up and track the sessions and see who's going to go where, etc.

  • Autodesk Land  Desktop 2005 and Oracle Spatial

I'm trying to connect Autodesk Land Desktop 20054 to Oracle Spatial 10g, I created tables in Oracle schema as described in the guide but when I try to connect I have in return the error message "Options table is not valid".I don't know what is wrong..
    thanks in advance
    alice

    Hi Alice,
You dont have to create any tables in oracle.
In LDT, log in as a superuser.
    type maposeadmin (OSE), {now autodesk has come up with FDO concept too.}
and rest all is self explanatory. ie., saving feature metadata, creating feature tables layer wise. Now eport the data. Now once again, type maposeadmin and then update the extents, then create index. You are ready to read the data back again to LDT. You can check the same in SQL plus too as to how autodesk stores its schema. Its totally different.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Nandakishore.

  • Mapserver and oracle spatial 8i...

hi, i want to connect the mapserver software with oracle spatial 8i ??
    can ??
if can, how to do that ???

I've seen MapViewer work with 8i. You still need a 9iAS release 2 license,
and on Oracle8i you will need a spatial license as well.
You'll need mapviewer and standalone OC4J.
    I'm assuming mapserver=MapViewer

  • EPSG and Oracle-Spatial

In the spatial documentation we find:
"The Oracle Spatial coordinate system support is based on, but is not always identical to, the European Petroleum Survey Group (EPSG) data model and data set."
The EPSG data set is updated regularly, i.e. new coordinate systems are added and so on.
The current version of EPSG is 6.17.
Which version of EPSG is used in which Oracle Database Release (10.2.0.2, 10.2.0.4, 11.1.0.6)?
Where can I find this information?
When an Oracle patch set is published (e.g. 10.2.0.3 upgrade to 10.2.0.4), does this patch set include updates to EPGS-data or include a new version of EPSG data set?

    Sean,
Yes, this is possible with Oracle9iAS Wireless. You can configure Oracle9iAS Wireless to retrieve data from any location provider (Spatial or others) and have wireless apps access and utilize the info. This can make applications location aware, provide routing information, output maps, etc. Take a look at the first sample on this page to get started: http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/wireless/content.html.
You can also get much more information from the documentation: http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ias/doc_library/90200doc_otn/wireless.902/a90485/lb_chapt.htm#1004903

  • ArcInfo and ArcSDE / Oracle Spatial

    Hello,
I saw some discussion on ArcInfo and Oracle Spatial and thought of asking this question.
I have ArcInfo software, some ArchInfo boundary Files that need to be loaded into ArcSDE and Oracle Spatial.
I want to convert ArcInfo boundary files into ArcSDE format.
I want to send ArcSDE export dump so that it can be imported into ArcSDE licenced server elsewhere.
For doing this work do I need ArcSDE as I am not going to use ArcSDE. I want to just convert ArcInfo files into ArcSDE and send it.
    Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks for the help.

This is a very interesting topic, I have never seen or read a detailed comparison of the functionality within ArcSDE and Oracle Locator/Spatial. I have worked with both of these for five years or more, and if this comparison was made using the most current versions of these products, it is my opinion that these are fuctionally equivalent. Fundamentally, they differ in how spatial analysis is performed, Oracle Spatial uses Max Egenhoffers model, while ArcSDE implements the Clementini operators. When comparing ESRI's implementation of "versioning" with Oracle's Workspace Manager, I think Workspace Manager is a superior design, and has more flexibility/fuctionality. Besides, it is more open to choices in client applications, since the long transactions are part of the database, rather than the client application (ArcInfo Desktop). What is missing in Workspace Manager is a Java API.
In general, the SDO_GEOMETRY scales better for large databases than using LONG_RAW (SDEBINARY).
Thats my $0.02 worth. I just recieved a copy of MapInfo Professional 8.0, and they claim to support long transactions in Oracle. Will investigate.

  • Oracle Spatial and Oracle Forms

    Hi,
Does anyone have experience with Oracle Spatial and Oracle Forms?
I have generated a form, which is based on a view. The view uses the mdsys.sdo_relate operator. Somehow I am unable to get the form to perform (to get one record it takes over 20 minutes). While useing sql-navigator to process the same statement it seems no problem. The query that also uses the view, is then processed in 10 seconds.
I also noticed that when text-functions like ' lower' of ' upper' are used to query the view, the query is processed within 15 seconds. If I don't use ' lower' or ' upper' it takes a long time (> 20 minutes) to process the query. Is it possible that this causes the bad performance of the form?
On metalink I have found that forms and spatial do not cooperate because of the pl/sql version that
forms6 uses. There is no solution presented, does anyone know of a work around?
    My configuration is:
    Oracle 8.1.7 on WIN2K @ PIII-800Mhz 256 Mb memory.
    Formsbuilder 6
If requested I can post the queries that I have made.

  • Oracle spatial 11g - 3D-Geometry and KML-Export

    Hi,
I'm currently working with an Oracle Spatial 11g - database and there with 2d- and 3d-geometries. With this Version you can extrude 2d's to 3d's and calculate their volumes. This works fine.
The problem is to save the extruded areas as 3d-geometries in a specific table. Enclosed you will find the SQL-Code of the current workflow:
*1. Create tables for the 2d- and 3d-geometries (incl. metadata and spatial index)*
    -- table for 3d-geometry
    CREATE
    TABLE ta_geb(
    geom MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY
    ,area NUMBER(12,3)
    -- metadata 2D
    INSERT INTO USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA (TABLE_NAME, COLUMN_NAME, DIMINFO, SRID)
    VALUES
         'ta_geb',
         'geom',
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ARRAY
    (MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('X',4439900.00, 4440020.00, 0.005),
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('Y', 5664050.00, 5664130.00, 0.005)
    31468
    -- spatial index 2D
    CREATE
    INDEX ta_geb_index ON ta_geb(geom) INDEXTYPE IS MDSYS.SPATIAL_INDEX;
    -- table for 3d-geometry
    CREATE
    TABLE ta_3dgeb(
    geom3d MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY
    -- metadata 3D
    INSERT INTO USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA (TABLE_NAME, COLUMN_NAME, DIMINFO, SRID)
    VALUES
         'ta_3dgeb',
         'geom3d',
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ARRAY
    (     MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('X',4439900.00, 4440020.00, 0.005),
         MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('Y', 5664050.00, 5664130.00, 0.005),
         MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('Z', 0, 200, 0.005)
    31468
    -- spatial index
    CREATE
    INDEX ta_3dgeb_index ON ta_3dgeb(geom3d) INDEXTYPE IS MDSYS.SPATIAL_INDEX PARAMETERS ('SDO_INDX_DIMS=3');
    *2. insert 2d-geomtry*
    INSERT
    INTO
    ta_geb

    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(
    2003
    ,31468
    ,NULL
    ,MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(

    ,1003
    ,1
    ,MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(
         4439975.91,5664077.07,
              4439967.98,5664072.06,
              4439975.33,5664060.42,
              4439983.26,5664065.43,
              4439975.91,5664077.07
    ,null --area
*3. calculate volume of the extruded area*
    SELECT SDO_GEOM.SDO_VOLUME(SDO_UTIL.EXTRUDE(
         GEOM,
         SDO_NUMBER_ARRAY(0),
         SDO_NUMBER_ARRAY(10),
         'false', --validation
         0.005),0.005)
    from ta_geb;
This works fine so far. Now I wanna insert the extruded geometry (now 3D) in the table ta_3dgeb. All my attempts were in vain...
    *4. insert extruded geomtry*
    INSERT
    INTO
    ta_3dgeb
    select
    SDO_UTIL.EXTRUDE(
              GEOM,
              SDO_NUMBER_ARRAY(0),
              SDO_NUMBER_ARRAY(10),
              'false', --validation
              0.005)
    from ta_geb;
I got the following error message after executing this Code:
ORA-29875: failed in the execution of the ODCIINDEXINSERT routine
ORA-13365: layer SRID does not match geometry SRID
    ORA-06512: in "MDSYS.SDO_INDEX_METHOD_10I", line 709
    ORA-06512: in "MDSYS.SDO_INDEX_METHOD_10I", line 225
Then I tried to change something on the metadata and spatial indices, wihtout success. Does anyone has advices to solve the problem??
Afterwards I would like to export the 3d-geometry in a KML file to visualize it in Google Earth. Therefore oracle provides a tool. But I didn't managed it to export the geometry. Any hints for the KML export or are there any other tools alternatively??
    Thanks for any suggestions!
    Regards

Extrude does not automatically populate the SRID for the resulting geometry as there may not be a 3D equivalent of the 2D SRID defined
    in the DB.
So the extruded geometry comes out without the SRID. In your case, since you are creating an index on the ta_3dgeb table
before inserting the extruded data, it is causing this failure.
So drop the index on the ta_3dgeb table and do the inserts into it.
Then you can manually update the geometries with the SRID if there is a corresponding 3D SRID for 31468.
    Otherwise, you can use 31468.

  • How to install and configure spatial web services (sdows.ear) of Oracle 11g R1 (Version 11.1.0.6.0) on Web Logic Server  (Version 10.3.3.0)?

I need to deploy location based service (Directory Service and Route Service). My database is in Oracle 11gR1 (Version 11.1.0.6.0). The application is deployed on Weblogic Server (Version 10.3.3.0).
