Datasource 0SEM_BCS_10

Hello,
has anyone experience with the datasource 0SEM_BCS_10? This is especially created based on table FAGLFLEXT and serves to load financial data into BW as basis for consolidation (SEM-BCS).
The strange thing is that the values (TSL, KSL, OSL) are cumulated after a balance carryforward to a new fiscal year, but the quantities (= percentage of investment) are not!
This would mean that in R/3 (if you use the datastream for SEM-BCS) you should post your participations percentages every year again!
Does anyone here has come across the same issue?

I want to use the DATASOURCE 0SEM_BCS_10.
I activated the datasource in R/3 SAP ECC 6.0, but when in tried to to check the extrtactionin Transaction RSA3, I go no records for this datasource.
Is there any other setttings to be done before we extract please suggest.
WE are on SAP ECC 6.0 with support patch 14 and on BI we are on BI 7.0 with support patch 20.

Hi,
You would need to fill the setup tables of the datasource before extracting the data in RSA3.
The setup table can be filled through transaction SBIW.

note #935370 says, that we need:
ERP 2005: Support Package 05 for the software component SAP_APPL 600, or
ERP 2004: Support Package 13 for the software component PI 2004_1_500
what is with our release??? is there an other option???

Does 0SEM_BCS_10 supports Delta?

Hi Guys,
Does dataSource 0SEM_BCS_10 supports delta? I found and implemented the note 1008953, however, the delta is still not enabled. Is there a work around or a step I am missing?

Thanks for the input. I got the sense that 0SEM_BCS_10 doesn't support delta, but I just want to make sure since the note 1008953 kind of implies the issue can be fixed by implement the relevant support package.
I looked carefully at note 852971, and it does states that the new GL (0FI_GL_10) contain partner profit center and company ID for trading partner, and this is validated with extractor checker.
This pretty much solves our issue.

R/3 preperation for BCS

Dear Friends,
I am currently involved in an SEM BCS implementation. Before the data is extracted from R/3 to BCS i need to do certain data preperation on the R/3 side such as
1) Maintain the trading partner in vendor and customer masters 2) Maintain group chart of accounts in the GL.
What else needs to be done for enabling elimination of profits on inventory.
Shall highly appreciate if you can guide me on the same.

Further Note 852971 states that
The DataSource 0FI_GL_10 is available for extraction but it does not capture the trading partner information, instead the note suggests that DataSource 0SEM_BCS_10 can be used but note "1008953" - Delta for 0SEM_BCS_10 is not supported. suggests that you have to use full upload method instead of delta if you are using the latter. So would you suggest the use of DataSource 0FI_GL_10 or DataSource 0SEM_BCS_10.

Extraction fo data for SEM 6 from ECC6

We are working on to set up SEM 6.0 with ECC6 as the transactioanl system.
Please could you help solving the following doubts in this regard: -
1) Is this true that in order to get consolidation relevant fields (like Trading partner, Partner profit center
etc.) we should use DS 0SEM_BCS_10 and not DS 0FI_GL_10? SAP Note 852971 suggests as follows: -
'.......The DataSource 0FI_GL_10 is available in the BI business content for the extraction of data of the leading ledger from the new general ledger accounting to BW. However, only one part of the transferred fields can be updated by the structure of the data flow saved in the BI content. This is due to technical constraints during the update into an ODS object. The partner fields that are relevant for consolidation are not updated in the InfoProvider 0FI_GL_10 and, therefore, you cannot use it as the "staging" InfoProvider for SEM-BCS.
SAP delivers the DataSource 0SEM_BCS_10 for the data collection of the leading ledger from the new general ledger into the consolidation. This allows you to set up another data transfer branch to SEM-BCS without affecting the data transfer to the InfoProvider of the new general ledger......'
What is not clear from above is whether we need to use both the data sources or we can manage with 0SEM_BCS_10.
2) Is the BI content statging cube for BCS 0FI_GL_10?
3) I believe that we need to create some other data sources to load data from non-leading ledgers. Are we going to load data from non-leading ledgers to the same staging cube in BW (0FI_GL_C10)? If yes how the data will be differentiated? There could be various sets of data in the same inforprovider for each parallel ledger.
Please advise.

1. We use 0SEM_BCS_10. It clear said in notes that 0FI_GL_10 is not useful.
2. No, AFAIK, it's a custom cube.
3. If you use the flex GL why you are going to use non-leading ledger.

Hi guys. I`m willng to use 0SEM_BCS_10 to get data fo preparation to consolidation. But I didn't find a standard infocube to get these data that cames from 0SEM_BCS_10..it will be a "staging" cube where the BCS cube (0BCS_C10) will get data by data stream ...do anyone know if there is this standard cube or I will have to create a Z?

There is no standard cube for this datasource. You have to create a Z-cube. And please use more searching in the forum. I answered such a question a couple of times before.

0SEM_BCS_10 or 0FI_GL_10

Hi all,
We are implementing SEM BCS60 and ECC60 with new GL. Understand that SAP is providing the above two datasources to extract consolidation data from ECC (FAGLFLEXT) to staging cube and subsequently to the 0BCS_C11 total cube.
I have came across a note indicating that 0FI_GL_10 comes with some limitation in preparing data for consolidation.
1) What limitations SAP are referring to when it comes to datasource 0FI_GL_10 ?
2) Is 0SEM_BCS_10 is the datasource for extracting consolidation data from ECC?

Hi Mah,
To answer your second question, the 0SEM_BCS_10 data source could be preferred with new GL due to following reason:
1] The data source 0SEM_BCS_10 structure readily contains the following new GL filds fields which can be used in consolidation with out modifying the data source:
                 Trading partner
                 Partner profit center
                 Consolidation transaction type
2] It is not that 0SEM_BCS_10 is the only data source with new GL , you can use other datasource also. But when all required fields for 0BCS_C11 is not available with business content data source you will be required to customize.

Hello,
This is difficule process. You need R3 (mySAP) and SEM-BCS (BW)
First step:
In R3, transaction SBIW and find this 0sem_bcs_10. Next, you activate it.
Secend step:
BW: transaction RSA1, choose DataSource and under right buttom mouse choose Replicate Metadate. When the finish proccess you should see 0sem_bcs_10.
If you need to transfer delta data you must create DSO for the 0sem-bcs10. This is do it in BW (transaction RSA1).

Database connection timeouts and datasource errors

Connections in the pool randomly die overnight. Stack traces show that for some reason, the evermind driver is being used even though the MySql connection pool is specified.
Also, the evermind connection pool is saying connections aren't being closed, and the stack trace shows they're being allocated by entity beans that are definitely not left hanging around.
Sometimes we get non-serializable errors when trying to retrieve the datasource (this is only after the other errors start). Some connections returned from the pool are still good, so the application limps along.
EJBs and DAOs both use jdbc/SQLServerDSCore.
Has anyone seen this problem?

else's -- including, for example, JBuilder (that became "JDeveloper"), Apache Web Server (that became "Oracle HTTP Server") and TopLink -- their development paths diverge, until, eventually, there is absolutely no similarity between them at all. Hence, the latest versions of OC4J and "OrionServer" are so different, that you cannot be sure that something that works for "OrionServer" will work for OC4J.
I recall reading something, somewhere, sometime about configuring OC4J to use different databases (other than Oracle), but I really don't remember any details (since it was not relevant to me, because we only use Oracle database). In any case, it is possible to use a non-Oracle database with OC4J.

Possible to change the datasource from a business-view to a Sql Command ?

Hello,
When a business view contains a lot of elements it takes a while just to open the report.
We'd like to keep the BV as the dictionnary, but,
once the report design completed,
we'd like to disconnect the business view and replace it by the Sql command which can be seen in the menu option 'show SQL query'.
Is it possible via the RAS sdk ?
Did somebody experience this ?
How to proceed ?

I'm thinking opening a Case for this problem of opening reports based on a big BV.
We can't really reduce the BV, since it is the dictionnary and we need the whole thing...
I'm wondering why it is impossible to change the Datasource if the tables and fields underneath are identical.
Is it impossible to change the fields' mapping ?
The other solution, as you suggest, is to create a report from scratch, create a new Datasource with the Sql command format, and rebuild the report... I agree it looks like a big job...
Do you know if it is possible to export the report in XML for instance, change the XML, and then re-import ?

Getting following error while creating a datasource connection with oracle database.

I have 32 bit oracle server installed in remote server.
and 64 bit sql server 2008 r2 report server installed, and 64 bit oracle client installed on my report server while create a new datasource
in the report server i am getting this error

Attempt to load Oracle client libraries threw BadImageFormatException. This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit Oracle
client components installed
How can i fix this and let me know the reason
