DataSource 0TCTPRCSCHN_HIER in active in QA

Hi All,
I am trying to install technical content, I have encountered a strange issue. I have installed TC in Dev and transporting it across to QA system, the Transport request failed with the following erros.
InfoSource 0TCTPRCSCHN_HIER is not available in source system
Error when activating DataSource 0TCTPRCSCHN_HIER BIQCLNT200
In our DEV system its all active, however in QA the DTP and Transformation is inactive. However, strangely the error message referes to an Infosource which is 3.x but when i check its RSDS Transformation(which is BI 7 object) which is inactive.
I tried activating the DS using RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL, but i get a message that data source is not found in the source system.
Did any one find such an issue, if yes, how did you resolve it.

Symptom
DataSources (R3TR RSDS) are not activated automatically during their replication if they are not active already.
This seems to differ from the behavior during the replication of 3.x DataSources (R3TR ISFS).

Reason and Prerequisites
When you activate a DataSource (R3TR RSDS), the system generates the Dictionary objects, the transfer structure in the BI system and the source system, and the Persistent Staging Area. This is a fixed part of the object generation that ensures that data can subsequently be loaded to the Persistent Staging Area. A transformation does not have to exist for this purpose.
This type of process was not used for 3.x DataSources: With 3.x objects, data could only be loaded after a 3.x DataSource (R3TR ISFS) had been mapped to a 3.x InfoSource and the relevant transfer rule had been activated. This means that this type of process also required an explicit and manual step to generate the Dictionary objects.
If all replicated DataSources (R3TR RSDS) were activated automatically, the system would generate a large number of mostly superfluous Dictionary objects. In addition, the replication would take several hours, for example, when you connect a new source system with several hundreds of DataSources.
Solution
Before loading data or creating a transformation, manually activate the DataSources (R3TR RSDS) that are really required.

But even after replication for all the three datasources M version is different from A version..
I cannot activate manually all these datasource in production system as it is allowed only for display purposes..

The worrying point is i had never done that like before..
I always transport datasource in R/3 side first and then replicate to BI systems and using directly..
since the source systems assigned to it are different ( In BI Dev system R/3 source system and in BI production source system is ofcourse is R/3 production..)
Is it Ok even if the dataasources had different source systems? when transporting from dev to prodution?

LO datasource can't active

Hi,expers,
In next couple of days we will go live, but I hit a strange issue today,Could someone help me?
The case is like this:
We have client 210 and 280 in the same sever, we do the datasouce modify and active in 210 and it auto change in 280, sometimes we use scc1 to copy the request from 210 if it can't auto change in 280 when we enhance the LO datasorce in lbwe.
But today when I add one more field from lbwe for dataource 2lis_02_scl and copy request in scc1, it doen't work at all. So the this datasource can't active in 280 from where we extract data to bw system.
The error log in scc3 is like below:

Datasource error- while activating it- warnings occured

Hi experts,
I'm using the standard BC datasource 3FI_SL_7R to load the data into the cubes 0rtl_c01 & 0rtl_c03.
while activating the data source in the R/3 the system displayed the below warnings:
"Generating DataSource 3FI_SL_7R"
"Delta process ABR for DataSource 3FI_SL_7Rrequires a cancellation field"
by ignoring them i configured the whole data flow, but while i scheduled the data for extraction it showed the following errors in the monitor error message:
"The extraction program does not support object"
I again activated the function module, extractor and the datasource(again with warnings), and done the whole thing once again but i came across the same error in the monitor.
Does any one have a solution for this PLZ HELP ME.

You want to use the delta mode for the BW extraction of total record data from FI-SL or EC-PCA.

Reason and Prerequisites
Note the following prerequisites and restrictions:
This note only applies to totals record DataSources.
The R3 Release must be 4.0B or higher.
The delta method is currently only available for actual data.
The delta method uses the same transfer structure as the full upload, that is, only totals record fields are transferred.
The BALANCE field of the transfer structure is not filled. To get the non-cumulative for balance sheet accounts, you can either create a non-cumulative value in the BW System, which is updated via values DEBIT/CREDIT, or accumulate the transactions of period 0 to n in the query definition.
You must use the online through-posting for balance sheet accounts. You can create a separate InfoPackage that works in the full upload for balance sheet accounts that are transferred periodically.
The line item update must be active for currency conversions in the FI System.
Deleting transactions are not connected to the delta method:
a) Periodic CO data transfer (transaction 0KE0) (use transaction 1KEA instead because this transaction cancels the data instead of deleting it).
b) Rollup
c) Delete transaction data (transaction 0KE1)
d) Modification of SAPFGVTR balance carryforward program (transaction GVTR):
After you implement the modification from note 182201, the ZZVTR001 delete program used there is not connected for the carryforward balances (TSLVT, HSLVT, KSLVT fields and so on).
              This means:
              Do not use these transactions if a delta method is initialized for the same selections because the deletion is not updated for the BW system.
               If you absolutely have to use one of the transactions or you have used one of them by mistake, you must delete the initial requests and delta requests from the InfoCubes in the BW system and you must restart the delta method with an initial upload.
Posting is not allowed during the initial upload. You must take organizational measures to make sure that no posting takes place at that time because there is no corresponding system check at present.
If the delta method was initialized for a source system, you must regularly schedule a delta upload so that the delta queue does not overflow. If you want to stop the delta method you should also delete the initialization. You can display the delta queue in the source system via transaction RSA7.
Enter the selection for the actual data in the information package (0VTYPE = 010). Planning data can be transferred with another InfoPackage in the full upload.
Solution
The solution is contained in the standard version as of Release 4.7A. The solution may be implemented in advance for lower releases:
To activate the delta method for DataSource 0EC_PCA_1 and for 3FI_SL_* generated totals record DataSources, you must perform the following steps in the OLTP:
Caution:
Steps 1 and 2 are delivered in Support Packages with note 485264 and no longer have to be executed with the corresponding Support Package status.
1. Create the following function modules in accordance with the correction instructions:
a) OPEN_FI_PERFORM_00005030_P in function group BFFM2 (4.0B - 4.5B)
                           or in function group BFFM3 according to note 450079 (4.6B - 4.6C)
b) OPEN_FI_PERFORM_00005040_P in function group BFFM2 (4.0B - 4.5B)
                           or in function group BFFM3 according to note 450079 (4.6B - 4.6C)
c) SAMPLE_PROCESS_00005030 in function group BFFMSMPL2 (4.0B - 4.5B)
                                                 in function group BFFMSMPL3 (4.6B - 4.6C)

4. Regenerate the update modules
a) Execute report SAPFGIDB using transaction SE38 with process type 1
b) Execute report RGUGVTR0 using transaction SE38 (up to and including Release 4.6B)
5. Implement the corrections from note 325824 (only Release 4.6C)
6. Execute report GBIWDGEN by using transaction SE38 (you must implement note 407091 beforehand up to and including P2001.1)
7. Change the data record in table ROOSOURCE for OLTPSOURCE = 0EC_PCA_1 and OBJVERS = A in field DELTA to 'ABR'. This may be done using report ZPCA_DELTA_FOR_0EC_PCA_1. Follow the same procedure for an FI-SL totals record DataSource.
As of PI 2003.1, the delta mode 'ADDD' is used instead of 'ABR'; an indicator is also set in the T881IS_PI control table. If you have installed Plug-In Release 2003.1 or higher, use the attached ZGBIWPI_DELTA report instead of the ZPCA_DELTA_FOR_0EC_PCA_1 report.
8. Replicate the DataSource in the BW System and activate it.
Import the changes into the production system via transports and then perform steps 4, 6, 7 and 8 again.
You will have to repeat step 6 again if you encounter problems after the Plug-In upgrade.
When you upgrade the source system to Release 4.7, discard the modification of reports FGIDBF24, FGVTRF20 and RGUGVTR0 during the data comparison and use the delivered version of these programs. If you use this note for FI-SL DataSources, call transaction BW03 once and accept the conversion of the DataSources in the dialog box that appears. If you do so, an initialized delta method will continue to run successfully even after you upgrade the source system.

BI Content Datasource is not activated

Hi,
I see my 3.x Datasources ( with source system PC_FILE ) in the BI content Q system, which were transported from BI cintent Dev. system, however I cannot activate them.
If I do BI content installation by selecting the corresponding transfer rule with grouping option "in Data flow before", and check transfer rule, transfer structure, 3.x datasource, and subsequently I run the content install, afterwards I go to datasources in modelling section and I see the active version as matching with the previous content version, which does not match the actual content version, which I installed.
Why is that ?
How can I install in BI Q system the transfer rules, datasources, transferstructures pertaining to a PC_FILE source system?
I have no R/3 system, to replicate active datasources from there, this is PC_FILE type datasource.

Based on your SAP patch level & error message number, y need to apply SAP note to resolve this error. If you provide correct error message, so we can suggest. Try to active business content grouping the before & after words. Sometime dependent objects my missed also y may get inactive in Transfer rules.

DataSource Not being activated

All;
I replicated WBS Element hierarchy datasource but it still shows up as modified. Also on transfer rule, When I click change the activation icon is gray. I can not activate transfer rules either. they are in saved status. How can I activate transfer rules.

Error when activating an R/3 generic datasource in BW

Hi
I've created a generic datasource in R/3 4.6C system using a table view over R/3 standard Project System tables with joins. This datasource has been activated. I then replicated this generic datasource in BI7 datawarehousing environment. The replication went ok and I could see the R/3 generic datasource in RSA1. When I tried to activate this datasource I received this error message:
Error when activating DataSource ZPROJECT_ATTR Message no. RSO404
I didnt have similar problem with the other generic datasources.
I'm currently working on Netweaver 2004s BI support pack 10 environment.
Please let me know how to fix this problem.

BI Content Remote Activation of Datasource - Transports

During the process of installing BI content in the Dev BW Environment, I am promted to login to the source system (CRM DEV in this case) so that the BI content datasources can be activated and replicated remotely. This process works fine.
The question I have is the following.
When I tranpsort all the BW BI content objects from our DEV BW environment to the BW QA environemt, do I still need to collect the activated datasources in the source system (CRM DEV ) and also transport them to CRM QA ?
Or does the remote activation and replication of the datasources(in the source system-CRM QA) happen automatically when i transport the BW BI content objects from DEV BW to BW QA.

I don't think, the remote activation and replication of the datasources(in the source system-CRM QA) happen automatically BW QA.
In BI 7.0, the general practice is, first u have transport datasources from ECC Dev to ECC QA...Then replicate these datasources in BI QA.
In most of the cases, these replicated datasources becomes inactive in BI QA.
To over come this, after the replication, u should transport Datasources from BI DEV to QA, so that this DS overwrites replicated (inactive) ones from ECC.

I am getting this below error while creating tramsformation object through copy option from another transformation.

Check note 936644 - 3.x DataSource:No active version displayed in UI (emulation).
Excerpt from the note:
To receive an active version of the emulated 3.x DataSource, this has to be assigned to a 3.x InfoSource. You then have to maintain the transfer rules and select "PSA" as the transfer method.
When you activate the transfer rules, the system generates the transfer structure and a Persistent Staging Area (PSA). You can then emulate the 3.x DataSource as an active version.

Fields missing after enhance datasource

Hi again experts!
I've a new problem today... is related with an append structure. I created an append structure for the 0article_attr datasource, then I activated it but now I can't see the new fields in the rsa6. I read in this forums some threads and I also verify two things: the new fields appears in rsa2 and NOT appear in the table ROOSFIELD.
Please, I need urgent help!

On a SRM system, we have the same problem, execpt that the fields is well mentioned in ROOSFIELD but we also cannot see them in RSA6.

Performance problems with 0EC_PCA_3 datasource

Hi experts,
We have recently upgraded the Business Content in our BW system, as well as the plug-in on R/3 side. Now we have BC3.3 and PI2004.1. Given the opportunity, we decided to apply the new 0EC_PCA_3 and 0EC_PCA_4 datasources that provide more detailed data from table GLPCA.
The new datasources have been activated and transported to the QA system, where we experience serious performance problems while extracting data from R/3. All other data extractions work as before so there should not be any problem with the hardware.
Do you use 0EC_PCA_3? Have you experienced any problem with the speed of data extraction/transfer? We already have applied the changes suggested in note 597909 (Performance of FI-SL line item extractors: Creating indexes) and created secondary indexes on GLPCA table but it did not help.

Seems the problem was caused by a custom development - quantity conversion in user exit. However, we tried loading earlier after removal of the exit, it did not help then (loading took even longer...). Now it did.

While doing best practice in the documentation it is given as to choose " in data flow before", what is the purpose?

1. In data flow before?
This will install all the objects under selected object and that it self,
Ex: is you select to install a cube, and suppose with In data flow Before option it will Install DSO Transformaions, Infosource , datasource (IN BI &.0 datasource can be activated remotely) and all infoobjects and correcponding catalogs and info area and application components.. and for infoobjects if master data attribute and text are there that will also be installed.
2. In data flow Afterwards?
Afterwards means, on Cube Reports workbooks and roles will be installed.
3.Before and afterwards?
Before and afterwards, means complete Flow from Source to Reporting and roles.
Why we are using this?
we use these options to install BI Content, selection is based on requirement.

" in data flow before", will install only objects necessary to load data into it, then install objects with " in data flow Afterwards", for reporting objects.

Datasource: Rsa5->RSA6
BI Side:
Rsa1->BI Content->Select Datasource->Installation->Replicating/Activating the DS
And same procedure for Infoprovider too.
Please analyze closely about the procedure, some where you are missing something.
