DataSource doen't exist

Hi,
i'm constantly getting a error message when trying to load data from a transactional ODS to an InfoCube.
First I load data into the ODS by APD, next when i try to run the InfoPackage from the ODS to the IC i get the next error message:
RSAOLTP003: "DataSource XXX does not exist on source system YYYY".
...i tried right click on ODS and "generate export data source", it's generated OK but i keep getting the error when loading.
i searched for SAP Notes but found nothing related.
Any sugestions ?

DO you have replicated the exported data source.If you replicate the export datasource it won't give the error.
goto data source 8xxx and repicate it.

Quick bit of background, we have SCCM 2012 R2 installed on a Windows 2012 R2 server. We have the SQL back end off box, configured on a SQL 2012 R2 server running on a Windows Server 2012 R2 cluster. Then there is yet another server which runs the reporting
services. I've just tried installing the Reporting Services Point on the srs server but it doesn't appear to have worked that well. Here's the info i've got back:

Paul, nope can't say I've done any configuration of reporting services - the whole thing has been set up by the database team. Having had a trundle through Reporting Services Configuration Manager, it seems the Database team have set up SSRS in line with
the walkthrough you posted.
Since i'm not seeing the ConfigMgr_XXX folder appear in SSRS I'm wondering if there's something preventing SCCM from being able to create it. The message

or simply ping the server.
if client able to communicate server then check HOSTNAME in listener.ora
is represting correctly your Host.
is hostname map with virtual ip in host file of Operating System if not using DNS.
check ur hostname with command hostname.

dear masters,
i m new to BI i m creating one report in BI. for that i m taking the data from Excel file. for that i have created the source system
and data source i saved and activated the data source. in data source preview i checked the data its coming properly as i given in
excel sheet. after that i m creating the infopackage while creating it i m getting the error DataSource ***** does not exist in source system ***** of version A. i checked data source in RSA2 but in this it is showing The DataSource DS_PO85 does not exist in version A also i checked in RSA3 its showing The DataSource DS_PO85 does not exist in version A.
pls help me how to overcome this problem.... where i m missing which setttings...

Hi Vicky,
Go to RSA1--> Data Source --> Find the data source (for which the load is getting failed)
Now Change and activate the data source again.
Both the status and version should be activated green.
Also you can use the check button to check the DS.

I have a problem with pages application. I wanted to send a file through email or skype and my computer says that it cannot do this operation because:"File doen't exist or is a bundle". I tried several things like saving it under different name, in different folder but it shows the same info all the time. What can I do to make it exists?

A Pages document is actually a package, a special kind of folder that appears as a single file, but isn't. You can't e-mail or otherwise send a folder through the internet which is why many mail clients balk. Apple Mail will automatically zip a folder, other e-mail clients don't, especially web-based e-mail. In the Finder, Control- or right-click on the Pages document & choose Create Archive… (Tiger) or Compress… (Leopard) from the contextual menu. You will now have a zipped Pages document that you can send.

Need to change datasource for the existing Planning application.

Can I change the datasource to point to different relational database and recreate the same application. Please help me..I am on 11.1.1.3.

Hi,
Pointing to an existing application to a new database means you are going to lose your forms, security, task lists etc. Instead, I suggest 2 options:
1. first make a duplicate of your app, use LCM to export everything, deploy duplicated app and import exported LCM profile back into this app. It's very straight forward.
2. Simply migrate & deploy the existing application to a new one. (right click on app in app library, select migrate). Although this is even simpler, this only applies to epma apps.

Variable Engine crashes when querying a tag that doen't exist with OPC client

I'm working on a system based on LV 2011 DSC. The system is multi-node and uses Sahred Variables.
We have a node that has everything available in the system and we would like to use the embedded OPC server in the Variable Engine to grab everything in real-time and feed a corporate historian system.
It happened couple of time that querying a tag that was not defined in NI (example: typo when typing an address in the OPC client) caused some instability and made the node crash. After a reboot, everything was ok.
Is there a way to prevent a supervisory system of making crash a production system? Can we limit the OPC server to the defined tags in the library?

The variable engine is known to be buggy from time to time, so be sure you upgrade all the related software to the latest version (or not
If it is possible, have the OPC client create a new tag for any that are queried, but do not exist.

How can I add the extra fields to a datasource usign "User Exist"?

Hallo guys,
I have a quesiton on an extractor.
I want to extend fields for an extractor, and the additional fields come from a third table (for the extractor, there is a view which 2 Tabels inner join.) The third table should have LEFT OUTER JOIN relation to the other 2 tables. So I have to use "User Exist" to add the fields from the third table to my data source.
How can I do it via user exist?

Sharepoint List DataSource does not exists

Hi,
I wanna create a SharePoint List Datasource in ReportManager, but the only DataSource type avaiable is MS SQL Server.
Is it because I'm using SQL Express (with advanced services) ?
Do I need a superior edition? or do I need to install the Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint ?
I think the Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint is only to use Report Server in Sharepoint Mode, is this correct?

According to your description, when you are trying to create a SharePoint List Datasource using SQL Server Express, the only DataSource type avaiable is MS SQL Server. In fact, SQL Server Express does not support non-SQL data source. So if we want to create
a SharePoint List Datasource, we need to update it to Standard or higher.
Besides, we don’t need to install Reporting Services Add-in when trying to create a SharePoint List Data Source. The Reporting Services Add-in is a required component for a report server that runs in SharePoint mode. It enables Reporting Services features
include Power View, a Report Viewer Web Part, a URL proxy endpoint, and application pages, so that you can create, view, and manage reports, report models, data sources and other report server content on a SharePoint site.

Cutover approach - new fields added to existing DataSources / DSOs / Cubes

My current project has been phased across multiple releases. The phase 1 go-live was a few months ago and there is already a reasonable amount of data in the production environment. We will soon cutover from our QA to production environment. Some of our developments involve the addition of new fields (not key fields) to datasources.
For existing delta-enabled DataSource we are going to adopt the following approach:
1- Source system transports deployed
2- DataSources replicated in BI system
3- Before InfoObject / InfoProvider transports are sent we will delete data
4- The INIT flag will be deleted
5- Full Repair loads will be executed
6- INIT without Data Transfer will be executed
For new delta-enabled DataSources we are going to:
1- Source system transports deployed
2- DataSources replicated in BI system
3- INIT loads executed
4- DELTA loads executed
Does this approach seem correct? Does this avoid the risk of losing any data? Will it lead to delta loads functioning correctly? Will we get data loaded in the new fields for existing records?

One approach that we used for getting around having to delete and re-fill setup tables (which, by the way can be done without downtime - I wrote a blog on that about 1 year or more ago), is to create generic DataSources (some with generic deltas) for the additional data, ensuring that we had the keys for the target InfoProviders in the DataSource and then used those as an additional transformed source to the InfoProviders.
Example:

How to change the source system for just a datasource

Hi,
Our test/development BI system ( BI 7.0 Unicode ) is connected to our development system and to our test system, 1 BI system connected to 2 R/3 systems.
During some time, the test system won't be available so all datasources that point to the test system must be connected to the development system. In RSA1 is not possible to change the source system in a datasource: RSDS 057
'Creation of DataSources for SAP source system D30CLNT007 is not permitted' , same error trying to copy the datasource,.
Any idea about how to proceed ?

If I try to repliclate metadata in the datasource, message RSAR 051 appears: 'error when opening an RFC connection'. This error is expected because the logical system pointed in the datasource does not exist.
Is not possible to change the source system in datasource ( in RSA1 ) because the field is always greyed, also if I try to copy the datasource the message RSDS 057 appears.
Any idea about how to proceed ?

I hv a COreport(Cost Center Report).the data is coming from tables of CO,FI,SD,MM.
The Tables from CO are COEP,COSP,COSS,CSKS,CRHD,CSKU,CRCO,CSKB
The tables from SD are VBRK,KNA1
The Tables from MM are EKKO,LFA1.
The table from FI are SKAT,BKPF,BSIK,BSAK.
1)Can i create a view for these tables?Can a view be called a DS.
2)With these tables i hv Multiple DS's.So can i use Multiple DS's to extract data
3)Can i use FM to extract Data?If i use FM,vll i face errors during Support?
4)Please Guide me how to create Views for these tables and How to handle Multiple Datasources.

Have you checked suitable business content datasources.
I think you have lot of options
FIrst You need to have a multiple data source
--> Check for suitable business content datasources
--> check whether these details are already available in BW through any means (through other standard datasources to ODS)
--> Create customized extractor finally as a last option
All these tables are atandard and nost probably you would find a standard datasource ( again multiple) I am sure for costing you have standard
Few or more standard datasources or already existing BW objexts with 1 or 2(rarely) customized extractor would do the purpose that you look for,....

Please Help. Problem Assigning Datasource

I created a test Master data Infoobject abc_xxx and loaded data and then after testing deleted it. Now when I am trying to assign a new datasource to an existing Infosource from where I loaded data into the test Infoobject , I am getting error message that there there is no InfoProvider or data target named abc_xxx.
Could anybody please help me out here?

If you are not trying to use this infoobject, the above message should not appear at all.
Please follow the following steps to assign a source system.
1. Goto Source Systems and check the source system u want to use is in Active state.
2. right-click on ur InfoSource -> Assign Datasource
3. from the drop-down, selet ur source system
4. choose a datasource if the source is r/3
5. modify/change transfer structure/comm structure/transfer rules
6. save n activate.

How to export an InfoObject as a DataSource

Would you please help me get answer for the following question? Thanks.
1. How to load master/text/hierarchy data from one IO into another IO? Once in IO's master data/text tab, I assigned application component to this IO, then I could find the related datasource via T-code 'RSA6', however only Text/Hierarchy available in RSA6, even I select the checkbox 'characteristic is export data source', I still can not find the related master data source in RSA6.
2. I double click the item listed by RSA6, when back, system log always tells me that 'Application component DM-IO of Datasource 8XXXX doesnot exist', and even I rename the related application component to the correct assigned application component, system still prompts this warning, so how to fix it?
3. When I want to assign this BW server as the source system to one InfoObject, I can not find the datasource which is listed in RSA6, so how to fix it?
And when I generate the export data source on one InfoCube, I also can not find the related datasouce when I assign Source System (this BW server) to another InfoCube? So please help me on this.

answer to your question no:1
As you figured out by enabling a characteristic as an export data source will create datasources of itself in the myself BW system. In your case you are unable to see the master data ds - have you enabled master data for this infoobject??? I assume you have enabled only text and characteristic for this object in the infoobject maintenance screen.

The generated ds in RSA6 is under node DM-IO which in turn is under "Nodes not Connected". Create a new node DM and move DM-IO under this new node, save and exit. Come back to RSA6 and you should not have this problem reappear again.

go to source system connnection. click on myself system, replicate datasources and you should find the export ds of your infoobject! i assume you know how to connect it to another infoobject from there...
i assume the final question that you posed is related to question:3. Replication of myself system should do the trick...
