Datasource wrongly replicated in QA

Dear SDN,
I have below issue, please see if someone can help.
I have created a custom datasource in R3 using a FM. In DEV we replicated that as 3.x as was working fine. I transported the same 3.x datasource from R3 Dev to R3 QA. There it was replicated as 7.0 datasource instead of 3.x. Could you please suggest me how to get rid of the 7.0 datasource in BI QA. Please guide me the steps as this is quite important.
Many thanks
Shanthi

Hi,
Thanks for the link. But my issue is in QA. In Dev this was replicated as expected(in 3.x) where as in QA this was wrongly replicated.
So what would be the correct approach to perform the restoring only in QA.
I am just thinking below might work. Please advise.
Situation now :
I have correct 3.x datasource in BI Dev. I have 7.0 datasource in BI QA.
So I go and delete the 3.x ds in BI Dev, which creates a transport which I think deletes the 7.0 ds in BI QA.
Please advise if above scenario works
Many thanks
Shanthi

  • Datasource not replicating

    Hello Experts,
No Datasource is replicating into BI.
    Source System Connection is OK.
    RFC Connection is set.
Datasource attached to a Transport Request when activated in RSA5.
    Any clues friends ??

    Thank You Raj,Aduri and Mukherjee,
    Every thing is fine.
DS is Active, Source System Connection is Ok, Attached the activated DS to a Transport Request ...
but when I check the RFC Connections...Authorization Check is prompting an error ....
    a) does RFCs should be in place to Replicate the objects ??
    b) iam getting error while testing the Connection,Authorization and Unicode.

  • DataSource for Replicated Database

Hi, first, of all, I don't know if this forum is the right place to post my question, so sorry for bothering you!
I'm working in a project where I'm thinking about using two Oracle databases one replicating the other. I read somewhere that this using Multimaster Replication is a good way to obtain more availability. But I don't know how to create a DataSource in OC4J that can use both databases and choose the one that's not down. If I were using Weblogic, I could create a connection pool for each database, and then create a MultiPool that uses the already created pools.
I don't know if I miss something in the documentation of Multimaster Replication, but I don't see how to create a single point of access for the Replicated databases, and neither how to create a DataSource for OC4J that can access more than one database. I'm totally new in Oracle world! Perhaps it isn't the better way to obtain more availabilty, perhaps I need to use a third component to provide a single point of access for the databases. I really don't know!
    Thanks in advance,
    RGB

    Roberto,
Multi-master replication is for distributed datbase. The best thing to have a better database availability is 9i Real Application Cluster.

  • Datasource not replicated in Production Environment

    Hi all,
I activate a datasource 2lis_04_p_comp in SAP R/3 development environment and replicate it in BW development environment. All works are OK.
Then I transport this datasource in R/3 production environment a first time, then a second time after several modifications on my datasource. All transports and activation (first and second wave of transport on this datasource) are OK between development and production environment (on R/3).
2LIS_04_P_COMP is same (on R/3) between development and production environment.
But when I want replicate 2LIS_04_P_COMP in BW production environment, several fields are not replicated. Only fields wich are transported in first wave are replicated in BW production environment. Fields which are added (after datasource modifications) and transported in second wave of datasource transports, are not replicated (Datasource contains these fields on R/3 development and production environment). Whereas in development environment all fields are correctly replicated.
I think, my problem stems from replication in BW production environment.
How can I replicated all fields in my BW production environment ?
    Thanks,
    Rgds,
    Sébastien

    hi,
Can u check the transport log for 2nd time transport from R/3 Dev to R/3 Prod...
Did u see all the changes in R/3 prod for DS 2LIS_04_P_COMP ..
    try this again..
    R/3 prod
RSA6--> Select 2LIS_04_P_COMP Click on Truck icon -->
    BW Prod
RSA1--> Source Sys tab > Select ur SS> RightClk and Replicate Datasources
If u still missing some fields .. come back to us

  • Some datasources wrong in Info provider after refresh

    Hi
I know there is a lot of discussion about refreshes and data sources etc. but I still cant fix some of my datasources that display in the infoprovider area of RSA1 after a refresh and the logical system name change.
If i drill down on some of our areas some of the datasources are right but then farther down usually under data transfer process the old (production) data source name is still there and now does not exist.
Is there a way to change this, i cant double click on it as it pops up that the source system no longer exists.
I cant find this datasource anywhere else to fix it.
    thanks

    Hi Bradley,
We had some problems during our last refresh as well. We are running NW BI 7.0, SPS 14. Take a look at notes 1084226, 1167524, 1122853, 1135964, 1142908, 1180016, and 1224597. It seems that there are a number of BDLS issues that are addressed in SPS 15 and beyond.
    Hope this helps.

  • Datasources from source system replicated as 3.x instead 7.x

    Hello BI Gurus,
I am Basis consultant and got stuck with an issues with incorrect datasource version replication while trying to create and connect to ECC source system.
Generally they are replicated as 7.x but this time for some strange reason it is replicated as 3.x.
We tried RSDS to do mass migration even though we would loose DTP etc but that didn't work.
We deleted and recreated the system which also replicates the datasources as 3.x.
The source ECC system is refreshed from production so does the target BI system.
This is the first time we connected specific ECC system to BI system.
BI system has multiple ECC system as source system connected to it.
Please help me asap as our development is on hold since long.

After making the copy, did you guys run BDLS to convert the former Production Logical System Name to the new name for the ECC environment and did that also to convert the former BW Logical System Name in the new ECC environment to the one it will be connected to?
If you wanted to use the same IDoc Types you were using in the original system you could use function modules RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT and RSAP_BIW_CONNECT to disconnect the old reference and connect the new one specifying the same IDoc Type... You should do the same in BW and check table RSBASIDOC to confirm.
But yes, part of the definition of the Datasources, once you convert them is the logical system name... If it is different from the original all datasources get replicated as 3.x to maintain compatibility... At least that's what I've learnt...

  • Replicated BI Data Sources found as 3.x dataSources

    Dear Experts
I have replicated Source system and i have selected RSDS instead of 3.x data sources, now when iam searching T-code for source system i have no BI DATA Sources i have all Data sources in 3.x
and i also dont have data sources in RSDS of Business content i found all data sources in 3.x

    Hi,
Usually for standard business contents the Datasources will be defined as 3.x datasources only. To check this you can go to the corresponding Data-target and Select Grouping as 'In Data Flow before' . If you need to establish a BI 7 modeling dataflow. You need to migrate the datasources after replicating them in BW.

  • Datasource activation in BI 7.0 after replication

    Hi Gurus
we have SAP BI 7.0 and we are extracting data from SAP ECC 5.0.
We have few custom datasources created on R3 side which we have replicated and activated( Manually) on BI Dev side.
Now the problem is when we transported the datasource from R3 Dev to R3 Q and replicated to BI Q , the datasource was replicated correctly ( as BI datasources ) but it is in M version. Would you please advise how can I activate that datasource?
I heared so many ways of activating the datasources but nothing confirm , would anybody please advise me how many ways we can activate the datasource in Q and P after replication? ( for all 3X version we didnt have this problem as datasources were replicated in active mode only ).
    Thanks

Have you transported the BI mappings also (Transformations or Transfer Rules) and even then the data sources are still in 'M' version.
    If not -
I would suggest to transport a BI mapping from BI dev to Q.
Make sure to collect the R/3 active data source in this BI transport.
I assume the 'Import' & 'Method execution' steps in the transport might activate the data sources also.
(P.S: In stead of transporting all the mappings, transport only a test mapping)
Let us know if this works.
    Assign points if it helps.
    Thanks

  • DataSource 80SD_O03 does not exist in source system of version A

    Hi,
While Activating the Standard DSOs i'm getting this "DataSource 80SD_O03 does not exist in source system of version A".
    Regards,
    Devi.

    Hi,
Hope you followed the same in R/3
    Datasource:        Rsa5->RSA6
    BI Side:
    Rsa1->BI Content->Select Datasource->Installation->Replicating/Activating the DS
And same procedure for Infoprovider too.
Please analyze closely about the procedure, some where you are missing something.

  • Unable to collect 3.x data source replica in a request

    Hi,
When i tried to collect a data source replica(3.x data source) in a request it is throwing an error.
But when i tried to collect a data source replica which is migrated to 7.0 it is aloowing me to do.
Please suggest me a solution.I want some datasources as 3.x only.

    Hello,
Goto Transaction RSDS and delete the replicated BI7.0 datasource and choose BW3.x datasource while replicating.
    Restoring 3.x DataSources
    1. In the maintenance screen of the DataSource (transaction RSDS) in the original system (development system), choose DataSource  ® Restore 3.x DataSource.
    2. Enter a transport request.
3.If required, delete the dependent transformation (R3TR TRFN) and data transfer process (R3TR DTPA) objects.
4.Transport the restored 3.x DataSource (R3TR ISFS), along with its dependent objects, into the target system.

  • Error: Cannot save DataSource 3.x

Hi All, We are on BI 7.0 support pack 20. I am getting the below error while running the program RSTCC_ACTIVATEADMINCOCKPIT_NEW to intall/activate the Admin Cockpit.
    Cannot save DataSource 3.x 0TCTBWOBJCT_ATTR(STG-010)
    Message no. RSAOLTP077
    Diagnosis
Cannot save DataSource 3.x (R3TR ISFS) on the database, since a DataSource (R3TR RSDS) already exists with the same name.
    Procedure
If you want to recreate the DataSource, choose a different name.
    Thanks!
    Puneet

I tried restoring the DataSource from my ECC system and the error I received was:
Creation of DataSources for SAP source system
    (SourceSystem) is not permitted.
I clicked on the ? mark and recieved this following information
Creation of DataSources for SAP source system (SourceSystem) is not permitted
    Message no. RSDS057
    Diagnosis
You want to create a DataSource in a replicating source system (SAP source system, BI system, Myself system).
    System Response
You cannot directly create DataSources for replicating source systems in BI.
    The system terminates the process.
    Procedure
Create the DataSources for the replicating source systems in the source system itself (SAP source system, BI system, Myself system) using Customizing Extractors (transaction SBIW).
When you replicate the DataSources to the BI system, the system displays them in theDataSource tree in the Data Warehousing Workbench.
I am getting the exact error as the original poster (Cannot Save DataSource 3.x) but am not able to resolve it.  Any other ideas?  when I say I try to restore the DS, I click on Create in RSDS

    Hi Friend,
    Check the following OSS notes
    947690
    511475
    23538
Even though the note 947690 is for process chain the steps mentioned in this note could cause Error 8 when scheduling a package for extraction. I think in your case the server name or the host name is incorrect. Check the host and the server name in TCODE SM51 and ask basis to look for the same in RFC entries using SM59 as well.

  • Datasource not displayed

    Hi All,
We have created a new source system of APO in BW Development server.
We have replicated the total Source system. While replication it was showing that "892" datasources are replicating. But when in datasource tab we could only 7 datasources. What will be the reason for this?
Please tell me any settings has to be changed, or modified?
Note: while we search for a particular data source we could find the data source but it was not displaying in the data source tab.
    Thanks in Advance.
    With Regards,
    Ravi

The Datasource is not displayed on BW side.
Because the data sources are on Unassigned Nodes (Nodes not Connected).
This is the solution, while replicating the datasources in BW, the datasources which are in Unassigned nodes will not get replicated.

  • DataMarts, Generated Export DataSources, Connecting DS to Infosources

I try to build a Data Mart Architecture and thereby an ODS with their Export DataSource gets connected with a InfoSource of an reporting cube. After generating the export DataSource, I replicated it. After this I tried to connect the InfoSource with the DataSource, but the system didn’t display any custom generated DataSources (starting with  8*****) when I pressed the button “select DS” in InfoSource.
I checked the DataSource  with RSA6 and it exist on BW myself system. I also tried “insert lost nodes” in Infosource and “display generated objects” in RSA1.
Has someone an idea what other problem it could be?
    Thanks for your answer.
    Cheers

    hello heiko,
There is a setting that enables you to view generated objects. Go to RSA1->Settings Menu->Display generated objects->Show generated objects.
