Datasources are inactive status in r/3

hi frds,
i am facing strange issue..
I have activated the MM related datasources 2lis_02_hdr and itm in LBWE in R/3 Devmnt and transported them into R/3 prod, but still those are in in-active status only in R/3 prod..
in transport log i am seeing some warning msgs..

My ques is when we do all the customizations in LBWE for any datasources , system prompts a request...
As Mahesh said, in LBWE that request should be assigned to customizing request not workbench reqst ... but im unable assign the request to customizing request 'coz the system is prompting workbench reuquest.....
i have already created 1 customizing reqst in se01.. how can i use this custmizin req in lbwe
im doing all the customizations in dev box only..

After deployment MQ 6.0 drivers, JMS channels are Inactive

I have deployed MQ 6.0 drivers on PI 7.1. And after my JMS communication channels are Inactive.
The status is showing in rwb is ..
            "Channel Has Internal Error"
            "Adapter has not provided any status information about this channel"
            "Exception: Channel with Status Unknown or Not Registered"
I am unable to understand whether it is development issue or basis issue. Please provide solution on this.
I have cross checked below things and everthing fine
1. I have modified the CC configuration w.r.t PI 7.1also.
2. Cache full refresh is working fine
3. Vendor 7 MQ jar files are placed correctly after deployment in below folder
/usr/sap/SID/Instance/j2ee/cluster/bin/ext/com.sap.aii.adapter.lib/lib

Also try to stop and start the adapter if the configuration details given are correct in the adapter

Inactive status - v$session users list over WEB application

Hi all
When user connect through asp or asp.net, we create a connection in the session object. New sid gets created with each session.
When user normally logs out the application, his sid gets finished in the v$session users list. But when he dees not logs out in the normal way as we can not force thousand of users over WEB to log out normally, what will happen to the v$session ?.
1st - We wish to know to know that whether the list will run into thousands of inactive status users OR they automatically gets finished over time. We use the default profile as applicable to new user.
2nd - If the list of inactive status users gets increased to thousands of users which can be possible for the WEB application , there must be some limit fixed by Oracle 8i/ 10g database OR there may be serious performance problems. This simultaneous connection of thousands of users over WEB is easily possible and when connection is created in session object , what could be the scenario. We avoid creating connection object in the application start event to improve performance for the given sesion.

1st - Can u give some idea for create connection pools using asp.net environments. Further in the connection pool environment as to how much simultaneous running connections we should need to open and how.
2nd - If we have pool of say 100 connections and there are more number of simultaneous WEB users, what will happen to the application as to whether it gets to hanging /waiting for the pool connection to be free or give error ?.

Transformation in inactive status

Hi,
Currently I am doing some enhancements to DSO (BP Role) and today I came to know the transformations for other DSO which is no where related to this DSO got deactived with my user ID. I really suprised that I have not touched this DSO and its Transformations but Transformations are inactive with my used ID.
Could you please let me how this can happend and how to prevent this kind of problmes in futuer..

Hi Moli,
Suppose DSO1 is providing data to DSO2. This means data is flowing within the BW itself between two different Data Targets.
Now to check the Data Mart go to the Manage screen of DSO1.
There you can see Req Id, Req available for reporting,Compression Status, and then next one is Data mart.
If the data mart field for all the request have a TICK mark against it then that means all the data which was supposed to be sent by DSO1 has been sent to DSO2.
If there is any request which doesn't have a TICK mark in Data mart field then that means that request is not been sent to DSO2(or not received by DSO2) till now
It just like checking whether both the Data Targets are in Sync or not.

In PA an ee becomes inactive or withdrawn after we terminate someone. I was wondering why there is a distinction between inactive and withdrawn. So, the question arises who are inactive and who are withdrawn ees. and one more question on that Can inactive or withdrawn ees be paid in SAP or does it always have to be an active ee?

0: Employee not with company
1: Employee with company, but inactive
2: Employee with company, but as retiree
3: Employee active in company
Value 0 - The employee has left the company and should no longer be
included in the payroll run. An individual retroactive run is permitted for
him or her in the system.
Value 1 - The employee belongs to the company, but is granted leave for
military service, maternity leave, or other absence reasons. In reality,
most inactive contracts are not entered in the system as status changes
but as absences. Payroll is run for inactive employees, but their pay can
be reduced according to special factoring rules.
Value 2 - The employee is retired. If this person is entitled to a company
pension, the system still includes this employee in the payroll run. If not,
the system assigns specification 0 to this employee.
Value 3 - The employee belongs to the company and is active.

In HCM form & process Workflow event linkage changed to inactive status.

Hi,
In HCM form & process event linkage is activated in HRASR_DT and workflow object .
Now once we complete the process from EP portal ,reference number is generated and enteries are created in table T5ASRPROCESSES .
In SWEL,event is triggered and linked with the same workflow.
Now the problem is,thesre is no workitem in SWIA with this workflow numbmer and the event linkage also changed to inactive status ( both in proces and workflow )after we complete the process from EP.

When you are delaing workflows with HCM Process and form the behaviour is slightly different from the normal.. In order to check why the event linkage is inactive the possibilities are
1. Either there are some chnages done in the workflow and it is not activated from the transaction HRASR_DT.
2. The other possibility is that you might have directly actovated the workflow from SWDD transaction and if you have done in this way then it is a wrong way of generating and activating the workflow
Follow the below steps to find the error
1. Execute HRASR_DT txn and try to activate the workflow from here. If you try to activate the workflow from this transaction the check function module which is linked to the workflow will be knowing that for which specific process which workflow has to be triggered..
so in HCM process and forms frame workf it is always suggestable that try to create the workflow from HRASR_DT transaction using forward navigation and activate the respective event linkages.
The other point you need to check is make sure that all the respective program exit classesare included in the basic data of the workflow other wise even if you miss the program exit classes in the basic data the workflow will not be able to start its process/execution.

I tried to add some fields in lbwe,maintanance by making its status as inactive.After adding the fields the data source inactive status got disabled and the data source is showing in red.

Hierarchy Datasources in modified status

Folks,
Hierarchy datasources (replicated ones from R/3) are all in the modified version. They are 3.x datasources. I tried to activate them using following methods:
1) replicated them again
2) activated the transfer rule again
3) installed the datasource on BW side again
3) tried using program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL
None of the above methods worked and the datasources are still in the modified version. Though the loading status are all green but it seems that no changes updated in BW.
Please guide/suggest. Thanks in advance.

i assume you guys are on NW04s BI 7.0, all DataSource that are created in BI 7.0 are new design, master data attribute, text and transaction DataSource can all be created in the new BI 7.0, but for hierarchy DataSource, it remains as 3.X, if you double click on the Hier DataSource, you will see the title "...Emulated 3.X ...", so the DataSource should be working perfectly fine except it is in "Modified" version, i believe it is just SAP has not or can't a way to upgrade hier DataSource.

CHECK_INACT_OBJECTS : in-existent objects are inactives

We are patching ECC6 EHP4 from SPS10 to SPS15.
We are running into a blocking issue in the Phase CHECK_INACT_OBJECTS.
A list of objects are displayed ,those objects can either be activated
or even open.
I had a look at sap note 1882203 - SPAM : CHECK_INACT_OBJECTS error
Inactive Objects.There are no such objects inSe80 displayed as inactive
We have actually two kind of problem
1/ Function Modules in-existent but inactive :
FUNC J_1BNFE_INVOICE_CREATE_SC
FUNC J_1BNFE_RETURN_OF_COMPONENTS
FUNC J_1BNFE_SEARCH_PO_BY_COMP
FUNC J_1BNFE_SEARCH_PO_BY_MAIN_ITEM
FUNC J_1BNFE_SUBSEQUENT_ADJUSTMENT
The function modules do not exist in se37 nor in se80.
At some point of time , we have applied a SAP NFe Brazil note which delivered those objects, but it created such a mess, that we have unimplemented the note , but the shadows of the FM s are still here.
We have tried to re-implement the note, but it did not work, as the system thinks that the objects are already here
2/ Class CL_EX_BADI_J_1BLEGALREPORT can not be activated
There is an inactive version of object CL_EX_BADI_J_1BLEGALREPORT

The class has one unique version
I tried to find out which SAP table is holding informations about incorrect inactive status in table REPOSRC, but in vain ...
Obviously, I have opened a sap customer call, but in the meantime our all SP schedule is on hold ...

Datasource 2LIS_04_P_MATNR inactive

Hi Experts,
We changed a data flow with DSO instead of Cube. I have created a DSO with Datsource 2LIS_04_P_MATNR and it was good. While creating, I have activated update rules which was not required in 7.0 flow. So I deleted that DSO and while deleting deleted the update rules and transfer rules for the datasource 2LIS_04_P_MATNR in Dev and released teh request to Quality. Now I see the datasource 2LIS_04_P_MATNR inactive in Dev and there are no infopackages under it. When I try to create infopackage , it says, No active transfer rule for DS 2LIS_04_P_MATNR and source system DU6CLNT010; create first... How to go about this and activate datasource? Or if I transport the request backwards from Quality to Dev, will it work? Please advice.

I installed info bjects from Business Content, after installing transfer rules are inactive for project claims(0PS_CLM_CST). I am getting this type errors, object 0PS_CLM_CST Object version not found in table.
and also i am running the program in se38 (RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL) It is showing errors.

After running the above program,catchup your infosurce and do manually activation of your transfer rules and updates as well,if present.
check whether all the InfoObjects are mapped correctly and the status is active or not.

Transfer rules are inactive in BW Production system

The transfer rules are inactive in BW(Production) for the datasource 0FI_GL_4. I tried to activate by executing a program "RS_TRASNSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL" and another option by moving transport request from Quality to production( I have done the replicate datasource as well). In the quality system the data flow is ok to ODS(0FIGL_O02). but in Production not able to activate the transfer rules. please suggest me the best practice.

Whenever we get such an error, we first need to check the Transfer Rules (TR) in the Administrator Workbench.
Check each rule if they are inactive. If so then Activate the same.
You need to first replicate the relevant data source, by right click on the source system of D/s ->Replicate Datasources.
Now execute the following ABAP Report Program u201CRS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALLu201D.
It asks for Source System Name, InfoSource Name, and 2check boxes. For activating only those TR/TS which are set by some lock, we can check the option for u201CLOCKu201D. For activating only those TR/TS which are Inactive, we check for the option for u201COnly
Inactiveu201D.
Once executed it will activate the TR/TS again within that particular InfoSource even though they are already active.

After transports, find many InfoObjects are inactive!

After all transports are done. Find inside any Transfer Rule, source system/datasource fields are blank (We have asked BASIS to do the source system name mapping settings already). I manually assign the source system/datasource and find many InfoObjects are marked with red tick "X", then I realize that these InfoObjects are inactive.
You guys may know that BW InfoObject dependencies are very complicated. Just wonder how you guys collect all these InfoObjects for transports.
I find a way of massive activations of all InfoObjects manually, but in this way, the Change Request window pops up to prompt you to create change request and I don't the authorizations to create CR on PROD.

Hi Kevin,
you can not activate the BI contents in the production server. The procedure is to activate them in Dev, move them to QA. Test them in QA and on successful testing, move them to production. This way, you need to create a CR in dev system and move it all the way to Production system.
As you rightly mentioned, you need to maintain the dependencies while transporting the BW contents. I would suggest you follow the following steps.
1. Transport the datasources.
2. Replicate the data sources.
3. TRs, CS, Info Objects, UR and then infoproviders.
This way, you should not ahve any problem. Hope this helps.

The Comunication channel is still running when is inactive status or delete

Hi guys!
I'm facing a problem with JDBC Sender´s communication channels.
First, The Comunication channel was running ok, suddenly fail because the sentence select does not take the information available in the database. obviously the update sentence is not working too.
My solution in order to solve that, is create a new one Communication Channel equal to previous one, and put in inactive status the old one.
Everything works fine again!!!!
later (maybe one week or one month, the time is variable) this communication channel doesn´t take the information, again like previously comm. chann., i have identified that the problem here is that the old-inactive communication channel still working and take the data.
My solution in this case is eliminate the select and update sentence for the old-inactive communication channel.
But suddenly the comm. channel actived have the same problem.
The solution could be to do the same, but i will be in a cycle. Somebody have an idea how can solve this issue in a final way.

In my view, such problem does not occur due to JDBC Communication Channel configurations but due to one of the following reasons:
1. The SAP Server was restarted:
In my previous project this used to happen once in a month that the SAP server was restarted once after every month. During that time the connection of JDBC used to go down because the connection was reset and because of which the JDBC DataSource in Visual Admin was unavailable.
2. The Database is unavailable or the Server on which DB resides restarts or the DB Service was restarted:
When any one of the three mentioned scenarios occur then the connection with the DB is reset and the JDBC Datasource becomes unavailable.
To resolve the above two situations, you need to restart the JDBC DataSource in the Visual Admin residing on the SAP Server.
