Datasources in a 3 system landscape and transformations

Hello,
I am working on a 3 system landscape on Netweaver 2004s. As I know, for every sourcesystem,
there is produced a different datasource. When I want to Test a transformation
between a datasource and a datatarget in the develpment system, quality system
and productiv system, does this mean that I have to implement a transformation for
each of these three systems?
Thank you.
Regards, Lars.

Hi,
that you test your object in every system ist clear. The problem I have is, that
I don't want to implement the same transformation 3 times.
So if I understand your answers, I always have to implement 3 transformations
that have as source a datasource:
1. The first transformation references the datasource in the development system.
2. The second transformation references the datasource in the quality system.
3. The third transformation references the datasource in the producitv system.
The only alternativ I see ist to transport first the datasource from the development system
into the quality system and the producitv system and than reference in the
transformation only the datasource in the productiv system. In this case I need
only one transformation. Is this right?
Thanks.
Regards, Lars.

  • System Landscape and system alias

    Dear All EP Expert,
    I have some general questions.
    1) If i wanted to connect my EP 7.0 to backend ECC 6. Is there any specific name that i must use for my system landscape and system alias?
    2) Is the system lanscape come in when i include the business package?
    3) Where can i download the latest ESS and MSS business package?
Can someone assist me on this?
    Thanks you in advance...
    Regards,
    Bryan

    Hi Brian ,
you cal also download latest ESS and MSS business packages from -->
download the business package from service market place.
Navigate through Downloads --> SAP Support Package --> Entry by Application group --> SAP Application Components --> SAP ERP --> SAP ERP2005 -->Entry Point by component -->SAP XSS Self - Service --> SAP ESS 600.
and similar for MSS 600 business package.
You cal also refer to this Note for further details about Self Services Business Packages.

And Regarding System Alias names, there is no such specific name you should keep, as no standard name exists , read more about it on.

    Also,
    System Aliases and SAP Systems
For SAP systems (BW, CRM, and so on), it is recommended to use a system alias that has as its name parameter the logical system name as defined in the SAP system itself. The logical system is specified in Table T000 in the SAP system.

  • System Landscape and System Group

    Hi
I am trying to find out the difference between adding a system to a System Group and Adding a system to a System Group in System Landscape Directory.
I know that adding to a system group has effect on the transport routes while transporting. However not sure how adding a system to a landscape would impact.
    Thanks in advance..

    HI,
In one sentence,  system landscape contains all the SAP Systems that you have installed. It contains several system groups.

  • SAP NW BPM and NW CE in heterogeneous system landscape and SOX

    Hi,
Does anybody have experience with implementation of SAP NW BPM in a heterogeneous system environment (SAP, non-SAP, Legacy) in regards to detailed audit requirements (SOX compliance)? SAP Business Workflow is well established regarding SOX compliancy. But, what about NW BPM?
Thanks for you replies in advance.
    Shahram

    Hi Shahram,
Not sure about the way you are implementing BPM in SAP/NonSAP scenario, but in BPM you can have detailed reporting and analytics for auditing purpose.
You can also create your own data source and pass data values from the process.

  • Project landscape and system landscape

    hi all
what is thifference between system landscape and project landscape??
    anil

    Hi Anil,
    System landscape:
They system landscape basically is the set-up or arrangement of your SAP servers. Ideally, in an SAP environment, a three-system landscape exists. A three-system landscape consists of the Development Server-DEV, Quality Assurance Server-QAS and the Production Server-PROD. This kind of set-up is not primarily designed to serve as server clusters in case of system failure, the objective to enhance "configuration pipeline management".
    A Typical SAP Three-System Landscape.
At this juncture, it is important to state that a test system - Sandbox can also exit separately. The essence of the sandbox is to test the configuration of the business processes of a company, especially at the inception of the project (before the Business Blue Print is signed). It can also serve as a practice environment, even after go-live.
Pipeline is the environment where the configuration in the development system is moved to the quality assurance system and finally to the production system. The whole idea is to ensure that the configuration of these systems is in sync at any point in time. Suffice to say that, configuration/changes are first made in the Development system, thoroughly tested in the Quality Assurance system before been loaded into the production (Live) system.
This approach throws up the transport management system concept. Transport management system is the coordination of the movement of objects and configuration changes from the development system to the Quality Assurance system and then to the Production system. At times, this sequence of movement is not possible, especially in cases where an SAP note mandates that changes be made directly on the production system.
In such rare cases, objectively confirm that the change transport cannot be performed. Very likely, your system must have been configured to "not modifiable" (a system locking strategy that enforces the three-system landscape change transport rule); unlock the system by changing the global setting option to "modifiable" using transaction SE03. After you have done that, effect the change(s) on the system. Immediately lock the system back by changing the global setting option to "not modifiable" using transaction SE03. Replicate the changes on the other system. Note that transaction SCC4 can also be used to lock the system so that client dependent and independent configuration changes are not carried out directly on the production system.
By and large, the SAP system landscape ensures that the integrity of data is enhanced via enforcing a controlled configuration changes effect on the target system - production.
    Project landscape:
It's about the kind of soultion customer would be implementation in his project. Like CRM, SCM, ERP.
    Reward points if it helpful.

  • Chram 4 system Landscape

    Dear Friends,
One of our syetem has 4 system landscape and we have activated the same for chram process
    Dev -> QA -> Pre-PRD -> PRD
Dev has the system Role as Source system
QA and Pre-PRD has the system role Target system
PRD has the system rolePRoduction system
We have observed a scenario where
I import the request to QA from dev and then I put back the UC to Indevelopment status.
When I try to import the request once again to QA system without modifying the old request or creating a new request,
Import is happening to Pre-Prd system and not to QA system.
But incase of resetting the status back to Indevelopment after moving to QA. I create a new transport request and try to move to QA and the objects are moved to QA and not to pre-prd system.
Can any one suggest how to avoid import to pre-prd directly.
    Regards
    Lohith

    Hi Nesemi,
    Thanks for your reply.
As you have said "This process ensures that only your successfull "A`n" change will be migrated to production and all other copies "A`n-1" wont be moved to production".
Here, before testing if the User by mistake, has set the status to Indevelopment, and when he tries to do a reimport to QA the request is getting imported to Pre-Prd. So in this case before succesfull testing, the objects are moved to Pre-PRD system.
Our main concern is that the PRD and Pre-PRD systems should be coinsistant. Is there any configurations availble where I can unlock the task list of the second target system( Pre-PRD)  only on successfull testing in QA.

  • SolMan ChaRM - System landscape not ready yet

    Hi all,
We are configuring ChaRM for an implementation use, therefore all the systems are not set up yet.
Is it possible in SolMan to define logical component without "real" systems ?
We saw that in STMS it was possible to create virtual systems, but how do we link these virtual systems to SolMan ChaRM ?
Is it possible to define a virtual system landscape and to build and configure ChaRM scenario with this ?
Thanks a lot for all your help,
    Regards.

Yes, it is possible to define a development system and virtual systems (Q- and P-System).
Via transaction SMSY you can describe the planned Q- and P-System at first as 'virtual'.
Create transport routes with transport buffers as you would do for existing systems.
Define the buffers as they should be named in future.
For experimental purposes we connected our IDES-System to our development SolMan system.
In this environment we could map such a ChaRM-configuration.
In the meantime we practiced it in our production SolMan system, too.
    Best regards
    Horst

  • Creation of System Landscape though SMSY and RFC connection

    Hi all,
I've finished install the solution manager 4.0 with Oracle 10g running on Windows Server 2003.
i would like to know after i create the RFC connection using SM59 to my TST system which will be the system that i'd plan to monitor. The authorization test seem to be failed but others connection like connection test and remote logon seem to working fine. Please kindly advise which sort of user i need to give. I receive the message "Error Details-You are not authorized to logon to the target system (error code 1)."
And at the SMSY, i cant even see the TST system. And i don know where we should create the TST system. And i wuold like to know where i can make changes to the Technical data tab for my solution manager ipaddress, beacase it has tied up to the Microsoft loopback connection.
    Please kindly assist.Thank you.
    Kah Fei

    Go to transaction SMSY
Here, towards the left hand side you will see menu with tabs of 1. Landscape Components
            2. System and Logical Components
            3. Product Definitions
            4. Overview
    Select the second tab.
It will show list of all SAP Products available, if you are linking an SAP R/3 system to Solution Manager, then select the SAP R/3 from the list. And if you have already created the server and its details, they wil appear in the list here.
    Try this out.

  • SOLMAN 4.0 SR2 connect to SAP R/3 Three System landscape (DEV QA and PRD)

    Hi,
We have successfully installed SOLMAN 4.0 SR2 (ABAP + JAVA) on
    WIN2003 SP2 EE MSSQL 2005 EE SP1.
I just want to activate the service so that SOLMAN could see my existing SAP R/3 4.6 C Three system landscape (DEV QAS PRD).
I heard settings should be done on SPRO IMG configs. Could anyone tell me the exact procedure to navigate on it. I see a lot of buttons to config and execute, Just want to make sure everything will be in order.
My SLD is directly installed locally on my SOLMAN server.
    Thanks,
    Simoun

    Hello Simoun,
Telling from your last sentence I assume that you would like to connect SolMan (transaction SMSY) to your locally installed SLD or in other words: replicate SLD system data into SOLMAN system landscape SMSY.
    Please check this document:
    http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000538663&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700000530282007E
Here you find information covering prerequisites, required SAP Solution Manager IMG configuration to connect SLD and SMSY and frequently ask questions (FAQ-like).
I hope this helps you to get started.

  • Same Business system to two XI/PI landscapes and possibly two ESR's

    Hello,
We are setting up a new PI 7 landscape in parallel to our current XI 3 landscape.
We do not foresee a migration of XI to PI in the short run so the two systems, XI and PI will run next to each other.
The problem we then have is with the ESR and proxies. The same business system must be able to connect to both XI and PI and must also be able to generate proxies with interface content from XI as well as with interface content from PI.
The connection from business system to ESR repository seems to be 1:1, only one ESR per business system (defined via SXMB_ADM)
Is there a way to allow ESR content from two XI/PI systems in one business system simultaneously?
How do we solve this issue?
    Thanks
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
as you already said its 1:1 connection between ESR and business system. The connection is taken from the exchangeProfile, refer to [ABAP Proxy Generation on SAP help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/555f3c482a7331e10000000a114084/content.htm].
I suggest you to create the interfaces in XI, generate the proxies and transport to PI.
How are you going to use the to integration servers for ABAP proxy scenarios? I am asking because you only can use one integration server at a time for outbound ABAP proxies in SAP standard. You define the URL or RFC destination to the corresponding integration server in SXMB_ADMIN.

  • 3 system and 4 system landscape - Charm

    Dear All,
We have 3 system landsacpe for ECC and 4 System Landscape for BI?
Is it possible to configure CHaRM for these landscape?
If yes, please give me step by step guidelines.
    How to create Maintenance Cycle?
    Raj

    Hi Raj,
This is possible. The three system landscape is the usual scenario. In four system landscap, you just need to add a pre-production system in your landscape.
Go to the Wiki http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/Weblogs%20related%20to%20Solution%20Manager and search for Change Request Management. There are some 10 docs available there. Specifically have a look on
First steps to work with Change Request Management scenario
    /people/dolores.correa/blog/2008/07/26/first-steps-to-work-with-change-request-management-scenario
Call service.sap.com/rkt-solman. You can find the materials for project prepration, corrections etc.
Call SPRO in your solman system and go through the documentation provided there.
This will give you adequate information for configuring ChaRM.
