Datasync Error

Datasync quit working over the weekend.
Error message in management portal logs is:
Sync failed with the exception "We have encountered an issue in syncing your data."    For more information, provide tracing ID ‘b4d9a8c1-7c7c-4b67-a90b-937074ac6a90’ to customer support.
I would provide more information, but this is all the information that exists.  There are no corresponding errors in event viewer on the host machine where the datasync client is installed.

Hi,
Since the Azure SQL Data Sync failed,  I recommend you post the subscription ID and Sync Group ID. The Microsoft support engineer will help to solve the problem from backend. Sometime delay
might be expected. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • #datasync error - could that come from merging on fields from fact tables instead of dimensions tables?

I'm reporting out of two universes published by Epic
    1. Warehouse - Patient
    2. Warehouse - Transactions
I wanted to join two queries based on the primary key for a hospital encounter. Following the tutorial seemed pretty straightforward until I got to displaying data from a merged query.
The table displayed results from Query1, but adding fields from Query2 wiped out all the data in the table, leaving only #datasync in each field.
My workaround to get fields from both queries displayed (see screenshot)
    1. Merge queries on *two* fields - primary key of hospital encounter and primary key of patient
    2. Create new variable
    3. Make variable type Detail
    4. Associate variable with hospital encounter key from Query1
    5. Set formula equal to a field from Query2
I'm not sure why this workaround works or if what I'm experiencing is a symptom of something larger. Could this workaround be needed because I am merging on fields from a fact table instead of fields from a dimension table?
    Thanks in advance

You have defined merged dimension on 'company code-Key' which is common in both the Bex-queries.
You are able to bring the merged dimension and other objects from  Query_ One to report block without any issue but when adding objects from Query_Two you are getting the error #DATASYNC.
In this case objects from Query_One are got sync with the merged dimension object without any issue because they got added first to it.
Similarly when you add merged dimension and objects from Query_Two you find no issue, because objects from Query_Two go sync first.
Once objects from a query(Query_One/Query_Two) got added to a merged dimension, when we try adding objects from other query we get #DATASYNC error. This is because data in the other query is not able to sync with the initial result set, this is a know behavior.
    There are two workarounds:
    1) Merging all common dimension/characteristic objects: Only merged dimensions data will sync with the initial query,  un-merged dimensions/characteristic objects will still give #DATASYNC error.
    2) Create detail objects/attribute objects at report level for all uncommon characteristic/dimension objects from query_two referring to merged dimension. Then add these newly created detail/attribute objects to the table block that is having initial query objects with merged dimension, with this you see result set of query_two in the table block  not #DATASYNC error.

  • Problem with #datasync error

    Hi Experts,
I have 2 queries 1 is sales billing, query 2 is sales order. both queries from bex.
Query 1 :       sales document key
                        item key
                        bill-to party key
                        Material
                        customer group
                        some measures etc...
    Query 2:        sales document key
                         item key
                         bill-to party key
                         reference
                         conf. status
now i have merged the sales document key ans item key from both the queries. i have taken the sales document(merge), item key(merge) into the report
but i can able to add any object from query 1 or query 2. into te report. i cant able to add both query 1and query 2 objects into the report.
for that i have created detail variable for conf.status(query 2) with sales document(merge).
now i have draged sales document(merge), item key (merge) , customer group (query1)  conf. status(detail var ). i am getting total #datasync error on all feilds.
    please suggest me any solution.
    Thanks.

    Hi Durga,
Datasync error is coming up because the CustomerGroup1 field is not present in query 2. When you have Merged dimensions on the report layout, you cannot use unmerged dimensions on the layout.
Merge dimensions are used to act on measures from two different queries.
    What you can try is:
    1. Enable 'Extended merge of dimensions' and 'Auto-merge dimensions' in properties
    2. Insert CustomerGrup1 in another table and place it right next to the first table having sales document and item number. However this will affect the results. So based on your requirement, you might have to opt out of this
    3. Take out Sales Key and Item key from the layout but let them still be Merged dimensions

  • Merge Dimension DataSync Error

I am using WEBI 4.x and the dataprovider is a BEX query.
I need to combine two related rows in the dataprovider into one row in the results.
    The source data:
    Field 1   Field 2   Date
    ABC        100         1/1/2001
    DEF        100         2/1/2001
    ABC        200         3/1/2001
    DEF        200         4/1/2001
I created two queries, one restricted to ABC, the other to DEF. I created a Merged Dimension on Field 2 but I get DataSync error when try to combine the fields in one table.
The requirement is to display the results as
Field 1   Field 2        Date                  ABC Date         Days Diff
    DEF        100         2/1/2001              1/1/2001              31
    DEF        200         4/1/2001              3/1/2001              31
Is it possible to produce these results in WEBI using Merged Dimensions or is there a better method?

    I have found a solution.
I created a Detail Variable for Date with the Associated Dimension = Field2 from the ABC query and the Formula = the date field from the ABC query.
I can add this var to the table in WEBI displaying the DEF records with no DATASYNC error.
Since this step is not mentioned in Merge Dimension tutorials I could find, does this mean that when trying to merge dimensions with BICS DataProviders one must create Detail vars to display the data of the 2nd query? It doesn't seem to be necessary when using Universes.

  • Ho to overcome #datasync error

    Hello,
we have two BEx queries and we would like to combine some fields in one table.
The problem is that we get permantly a datasync error within WebI.
We have defined the merged dimension, created detail objects which are part of the merged dimension and
    (see http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1196849)
    Our requirement:
In the screenshot attached you find two tables where we have the same characteristic number (6010) and we would now see the comment to this chararcteristic in the second table in the first table as well.
Do you have an idea how to overcome this problem?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Rajendra,
    thanks for your answer.
My problem is that I've two queries and the second one has only the detail object (the comments). Now I would like to join both queries with the key 6010 (see screenshot) to display the column "Kommentar" in the table above where I don't have this detail object.
We have a report requirment and that's why we want to use WebI. Crystal is not in our focus...
    Regards,
    Tobias

  • Long Text display in WebI using transient provider

    Hi,
I need to display the long text (about 5000 characters) in WebI report  in one column. I have created a transient provider and query with 84  (5000/60) InfoObject . when i tried to create the WebI query with all 84 dimensions,  got error
"Termination message sent  ABEND RSBOLAP (000): Program error in class  CL_RSBOLAP_QV_RESULT_SET
    method : TOO_MANY_DRILL_DOWN_OBJECTS
    MSGV1: CL_RSBOLAP_QV_RESULT_SET  MSGV3: TOO_MANY_DRILL_DOWN_OBJECTS (WIS 00000)"
I think more than 50 fields can not be fetched and displayed.
So to over come this I created 2 WebI queries having 42 fields each. I concatenated 42 dimensions from each query in to 2 variables. But when I tried to concatenate these 2 variables system does not allow that it gives #DATASYNC error. Could you please help here, how to archive this?
    Regards,
    Amit

    Hi,
you can do this by using workbooks.
Check the below link very useful:

  • Webi- Issues when using multiple Queries

    Hi All,
I have a requirement as follows:
A crosstab which will have Year dimension both in the vertical and horizontal header. How ever the horizontal header should have years chosen by the user.
And the vertical header should have all the years that belong to that dimension.
                                   2013 2014 2015
    Audit1  2011                N     N      N
    Audit2  2013                Y     N      N
    Audit3  2014                N     Y      N
For this I am using two queries.
    Query 1 ->Audit Name , Year
    Query 2 ->Year with a multiselect prompt
But the problem with this is that after exec uting the queries the Year dimension gets merged and gives me a union of all the years.
Also if I avoid merging the dimensions, it gives up the infamous #DATASYNC error.
However I want crosstab horizontal header to show up only the selectd years(that are selected using the prompt by the user).
    Please help.

    Hi Pradnya,
Your approach is really nice towards the requirement.
I similarly created two queries containing Year and on
one of the query created a prompt on Year and one query does not have any
    prompt.
Lets say I have created two queries named [Query 1] and [Query
2] and my merged dimension Year contains dimensions [Query 1].[Year] and [Query
    2].[Year].
(Note: Query 2 has a prompt on Year)
Created a detail variable named [test] which has the
definition as =[Query 1].[Year] and Associated to the merged dimension [Year].
Inserted a cross table and used [test] in the vertical
header and in the horizontal header used the following formula:-
    =UserResponse([Query 2)].[Year];"Enter values for
    Year:")
Please try the above and let me know how it goes.
    Regards,
    Manpreet

  • Details losing their link on refresh

I have a report which has been generated from 3 queries with dimension merged across all 3.
I have then created some detail variables so that data can be included on the report that only exists in one of the queries.  that works fine and I have saved the report.
Now comes the problem, when I open the report and refresh I get #DATASYNC errors across the entire report.
If I remerge the dimensions, the details lose their links but when I add the links back, the #DATASYNC errors disappear and my report returns.
    Obviously this is not ideal.
Has anyone else seen this problem or has any ideas on how to fix it.
    I am running BOXI rel 3.1 SP2

    Hi Sue,
The  #DATASYNC error appear, if you try to add a dimension from one query to a block (for example, a table or chart) that contains objects from a different query. Try using the 'ForceMerge()' function on those objects, and check if the data appears.
    Good Luck.

  • EBCC syncronisation fail with new application

    Hello.
My team has problems using the Portal 4.0 with WLS 6.1 SP1.
We copied the p13n Domain and rename the Domain and the Server.
When we then syncronise one of the sample webflows with the new server, all
    works fine.
Then we add our very simple application with 2 jsps (one with a webflow form
that fires an event that is configured to switch to the second one) on the
    same Domain/Server.
When we then want to syncronise the EBCC could not connect (errormsg:
Authorisation denied. Check User/pass and ensure server running)
    Can someone help us?
Must we add some tables inside the cloudspace database or is this done
    automatically?
Where is the relationship between the database and the application
    configured?
Is there a simple tutorial from A to Z how to set up a new Domain and Server
ready for webflow / Code and deploy a simplest application / configure
    webflow with ebcc.
I need a all steps included tutorial to give this to my developers. The
e-docs are great but it is dificult to collect all pices together.
If someone has a finished configured simple webflow application please send
it to me together with the domain config xml.
    Thanks a lot!

    Frank,
You only need to do this config steps if you are setting up a cluster (or
would like to synchronize several machines with a single EBCC instance
automatically). For the default single user dev. box you should not need to
do this, just deploying the DataSync WebApp (our apps have it) is all that
is required. If you don't have any EJBs deployed on the machine (which is
the case with the typical admin server) you also have to put p13n_util.jar
under WEB-INF/lib of the DataSync WebApp.
Please note that config is significantly improved with the upcoming 7.0
    release.
    (Param Name) = (Param Value)
    notifiedName = notifiedNameDataRepository
    notifiedPassword = password
    notifiedLogin = system
    notifiedUrl = http://localhost:7501/scddDataSync/DataSyncServlet
notifiedRealm = weblogicYou need to append "-1" to all of these (ie. the paramter for the first URL
would be "notifiedUrl-1", "notifiedUrl-2" for the second etc.
This does not explain your NoClassDefFoundError however. Try cleaning up the
temp server directories, double checking you put p13n_util.jar under the
correct WEB-INF/lib and restarting the server.

    Hi again, Michael,
I tried what you suggested, and still got the same NoClassDefFoundErrorexception
for com/bea/p13n/management/data/message/MessageExecutor. This is what Idid:
    >
    1) I moved the p13n_util.jar file intoconfig\petflowDomain\applications\scdd\datasync\WEB-INF\lib.
    >
    2) I added the following parameters to the deployment descriptor for thedatasync
webapp. Within the console's deployment descriptor screen for thedatasync webapp,
I went to "Data Synchronization Web Application > Web App Descriptor >Parameters",
    and added the following parameters:
    (Param Name) = (Param Value)
    notifiedName = notifiedNameDataRepository
    notifiedPassword = password
    notifiedLogin = system
    notifiedUrl = http://localhost:7501/scddDataSync/DataSyncServlet
    notifiedRealm = weblogic
    3) Within the startup script (config\petflowDomain\startPetflow.bat), Iadded the
argument "-Ddata.sync.jdbc.master.dr=true" to the end of the "java"command, immediately
    before "weblogic.Server".
    4) There is only one server configured for the petflowDomain, and it isnamed "petflowServer".
Since this domain is a part of BEA's sample apps, I did not think I wouldneed to
configure a separate "sync" server. The JDBC dataSyncPool (Services >JDBC > Connection
Pools) starts up correctly, and is targeted at petflowServer. The Tx DataSource
is also configured at Services > JDBC > Tx Data Sources. I really don'tthink that
there's anything wrong with these configs since I copied this overstraight from
    PetFlow.
Do you have any other suggestions? I do have a proposal: How about if youguys set
up a working, blank domain with the correct servers, jar files, xmldescriptors,
datasync app(s), and then e-mail it to me? Or, conversely, I can zip upmy current,
non-working domain and send it to you for debugging? This would be fasterthan trying
to exchange messages on the newsgroup.

    Hi Michael,
Thank you very much for your research and reply.
Can you elaborate on Item 2 you mentioned? Which "parameters for

w/managed servers" are you speaking of? Can you list which file(s) and
    which parameter(s)
and values to configure? This will save me a lot of time trying tofigure
    that out.
In Item 4, I'm not sure which servers are the "sync" server and "managed"
    server.
I only have one server for my "ddDomain" domain. Can you explain this
    as well?
I'm currently evaluating Portal on my local workstation, so there is no
    other physical
    server involved at the moment.

    Good news, issue is RESOLVED.
Several things need to be done:
    1. Copy p13n_util.jar to the WEB-INF/lib directory under the datasync
    webapp,
    which
is used as a proxy. This needed to be done because of the problems with
    the class
    loader.
    2. The BEA Deployment guide has several discrepancies, so the parameters
    fo synchronization
with managed servers should be defined for the webapp itself, not forthe
    servlet.
This could be done using the deployment descriptor edit from theconsole.
    Also, the
document states the name for URL parameter as "notifiedURL" (incorrect),
    should be
    "notifiedUrl".
    3. In the startup parameters for the WLPortal server, running the proxy
    datasync
application the following parameter should be added:"-Ddata.sync.jdbc.master.dr=true".
    4. Finaly, the datasync connection pool and TX datasource should bedeployed
    on all
servers (sync server and managed servers).
It took us 2 days to figure this out, but it works well now.

synchronization connection settings to make sure that the Data
Synchronization setting is pointing to your context root. You can
    check
this from the EBCC using Tools->Connection Settings selecting the
connections tab on the resulting dialog box, selecting one of your

You may need to clean out the database in order for thesynchronization

  • GroupWise DataSync Certificate Error

When I access the GW Datasync management console on port 8120 I receive a certificate error. I tried to import the certificate used for the server into the IE10 certificate store but I still receive an error. The certificate that is causing the error is not the same one I imported. • URGENTLY NEED HELP!!! phone has blackberry 102 error

    Hi
I upgraded my whatsapp and they asked me to restart the phone when i did that a white screen appeared saying
"Error 102 reload software for further information please visit www.blackberry.com/102"
i tried to go to that link but it doesnt exist, i read on the forums someone else had the same issue and the instructions were to connect the blackberry t your laptop but my blackberry wont read on my laptop with the cable, with or without the battery in it wont let me go into the phone
Please help! my whole life is on that phone and my world is at a standstill without it!!!

Please make sure the Cable you are using is a Datasync Cable and not just a Charging Cable to be able to connect your phone to your  computer/laptop. Replacing a USB Cable? Ensure it’s a Datasync Cable
    Try this workaround:
For BlackBerry Device Software 7.0 and earlier, please either perform a hard reset by removing the battery from the BlackBerry smartphone and reinserting it or perform a reload the BlackBerry Device Software. For more information on how to hard reset the BlackBerry smartphone, see KB02141. For more information on reloading the BlackBerry Device Software, see KB10144.
For BlackBerry Device Software 7.1, if unable to contact the wireless service provider through which the BlackBerry smartphone was purchased or BlackBerry Technical Support Services for further review and support, please ensure the BlackBerry smartphone is running the most current version of BlackBerry Device Software. For more information on updating the BlackBerry Device Software, see KB16068. If unable to contact the wireless service provider through which the BlackBerry smartphone was purchased or BlackBerry Technical Support Services for further review, and the BlackBerry smartphone is running the most current version of BlackBerry Device Software, please either perform a hard reset by removing the battery from the BlackBerry smartphone and reinserting it or perform a reload the BlackBerry Device Software. For more information on how to hard reset the BlackBerry smartphone, see KB02141. For more information on reloading the BlackBerry Device Software, see KB10144.
"JVM 102" error is generated on the BlackBerry smartphone

You might want to check things out in the DataSync webapp and, if needed, bootstrap the data. See

  • Authentication Error with portal Tools

    I'm using WLS 6.1 SP1 and Portal 4.0 SP1 on solaris.
I've modified everything in my configuration files to work with Oracle 8.17 instead of Cloudscape. The database has been correctly created (I've followed all the items as described in the doc) with all the examples.
The problem is that I cannot reach the 'stockportal' example. I'm getting the following exception :
    <Feb 4, 2002 4:32:29 PM WET> <Error> <HTTP> <[WebAppServletContext(2833966,stockportal,/stockportal)] Servlet failed with ServletException

I thought no portal example was provided with Oracle database so I tried to create my own portal with 'portalTools' but when I enter the URL : http://<myServer>:<myPort>/portalTools
I'm getting 403 error. The server does not send me any authentication form. The same occurs with any other Tools : p13nAppTools, portalTools or wlcsAppTools .
    Any Idea ?

    Laurent,
I think you need to run a DataSync. You can either sync a "appname-project" directory (for server installs) or sync from the EBCC. If you run bin/win32/loadSampleData it will sync all the application for you.
    Sincerely,
    Daniel Selman
