Date adjustment BUG ? (3.5.1)

I scanned thousands of photo's from my old picture albums.
Photo's might be scanned individially, and sometimes per 2 or 3; jut as much as were glued on the album page.
I grouped them into projects.
Most of the photo's are TIFF, some are JPEG (elder scans are jpeg or when the dimensions were big [like brochures] I photographed them with my iPhone -hence jpeg).
Now I adjusted the metadata "Date and Time".
I selected all photo's in a particular project, selected "Adjust Date and Time", put in a date (like 01-10-1988 that is Oct 1st, 1988 - Dutch) , checkend "adjust original file" and pressed "enter".
Now, many images are having a different date as I entered.
The first series of TIFF have correct dates 01-10-1988.  The JPEG are assigned to 28-08-1988.
Then, in the sequence, there is one TIFF that shows 04-11-1988 (???); after that the sequence of JPEG's show 01-10-1988.
Then, a TIFF shows 01-10-1988 again, and the following JPEG's show 28-08-1988 again.
I checkend when I change metadata individually it seems to work correctly.
Then I checked a redo of batch change 'assign date' and it failed again as described above.
I cannot make any cheese out of it. Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance, Sytze

Sorry, I spent too much time in the iPhoto forum and got confused.  My screenshot is from iPhoto.
What is your Aperture version? If you have a matching iPhoto version, you can open your Aperture library in iPhoto (from Aperture's file menu: File > Open library in iPhoto) and use the Batch change command in iPhoto as described above. To switch back to Aperture use iPhoto's "File < Open library in Aperture".
See:  Aperture 3.3: Using a unified photo library with iPhoto and Aperture
If you do not want to switch to iPhoto, but work directly from Aperture, you could use an AppleScript. I wrote a little AppleScript wrapped as Automator workflow for this - have a look at this page and download it, if you want to try it on a small test library:
http://dreschler-fischer.de/FAQ/Scripts_Services/Entries/2012/1/15_Adjust_Date_a nd_Time_in_fixed_increments.html
But the iPhoto method is easier, since this is built directly into iPhoto.

Those symptoms indicate that you need to get your backup (PRAM) battery replaced. If your computer does not retain parameter RAM (PRAM) settings when it is turned off, this generally indicates that the battery needs to be changed.;~)

Arch, as a general rule, tends to stick as close to upstream as possible.  I'm sure the devs are very competent people but a quick hack or branch revert has the possibility of introducing issues of its own.  With the chance of the bug occurring low on a normally operating system I think it is better to wait for a fix from upstream.
Well maybe i am a bit over stressed about this since with this computer i have quite a lot of troube which i cannot find solutions to. Also a kernel panic after a reboot this morning -probably not related to this- got me in a bad mood.

  • Massive data loss bug

Leopard's Finder has a glaring bug in its directory-moving code, leading to horrendous data loss if a destination volume disappears while a move operation is in progress. This author first came across it when Samba crashed while he was moving a directory from his desktop over to a Samba mount on his FreeBSD server. Here's the link - http://tomkarpik.com/articles/massive-data-loss-bug-in-leopard/ I hope Apple would get this fixed soon.

That is actually the safest and easiest option.
Seems easier to command-click drag and drop to me. Losing data is not acceptable under any circumstance.
    Everything has been precisely calculated
I don't think that data loss is something that was purposefully precisely calculated.
A short term fix would be for Apple to disable the command-drag n' drop altogether, long term would be to fix the root issue in the first place.
Am shocked to hear that this data loss bug has been known about since 10.3.

  • SQL DM - Copy/Export data models - bug?

SQL DM - Copy/Export data models - bug?
I am using SQL DM 3.0.0.665. I need your thoughts on following.
We used saved as/export of the SQL DM copy the model into another location. We kept our models in harddrive as folder. We did not store it in database.
We opened the copied model from target model. We found all the links to defined domain was lost. We find the data type shows as Varchar2 instead of Varchar2(20)etc. It creates error on sql.
Why are loosing the domain definition/linkages during export/save as option?
    Is it a bug?
    Did anyone face such issues?
    What is the workaround?
    Thanks in helping us out.

    Hello,
Thanks for your reply. I followed the steps. I did copy the folders/files as Kent suggested.
As we installed the SQL developer on new desktop, it showed the domain definitions as unknown and count as 1 in Design Tree --> domain node. We copied all the xml files under C:\datamodeler\datamodeler\types folder of Desktop A to Desktop B. It brought all the domain definitions of Design in Desktop A.
Why does it not keeping this domain definitions as part of Design folders?
If we copy or save as the design , then domain also cane be saved as part of design. It will be difficult to make a sync of datamodels among multiple desktops.
How do we establish a shareable/sync data models using SQL data Modeler on such situations?
    Thanks in helping.

  • Erratic date control / bug in LabVIEW?

System: LabVIEW 6.0.2, Windows 2000 or NT4, Norwegian or Danish regional settings (have not tested others).
I have an application (made and built in LabVIEW 6.0.2) where a numeric control with time format is used to select a date...This works fine on 90% of the PCs it is run on...however on some the numeric control has a will on its own...when you enter 10.05.2001 it changes its value to 05.10.2001...and reverse...if you enter 2002 it might change to 2020..11.03 might be changed to 01.03 etc. There is no code writing to a local of the control or anything like that ...the problem seems to be a bug with the control itself.
I have tried to figure out what could cause this...and it seems that if you choose the date format to be s
ystem date you can turn on the problem...This could make sense if the control did not accept too high month numbers in the day input and then to tried to guess the intended input switched the two around...but that is not the case...
Now - is there some regional option or other that can be adjusted to get rid of this...or do I have too build the application again with the control set to use custom format?
    MTO

Sorry, I guess I didn't understand the problem correctly. It seems that if you enter the date in a format that is different then what LV is expecting then it tries to fit it the best it can. For example on my computer if I enter the year in 4 digits (2002) and its expecting 2 digits LV will just cut off the last two leaving 20 (obviously not what I wanted). I'm not sure why it would change a valid date that you typed in though, maybe you did find a bug. I would try to narrow the problem down by seeing if the problem is linked to certain regional settings that are set on the problem pc and not on the ones it works on. Sorry I can't be of more help.

  • A sorting songs by the "date added" bug on iPhone and iTunes?

So I've run accross a bug (maybe) that has really been annoying me for a few months now. It has been present since like iOS5 beta 3. It has to do with how my songs are sorted on my iPhone. I've always had my songs sorted by "date added" and I have never had a problem with them showing up in that way. During the beta, my songs started showing up backwards on my phone. My oldest songs would show up first on my phone's iPod even though in my iTunes they were sorted with the newest songs on top. I figured this was a bug and that it would be fixed by apple in the later versions of iTunes and after the official release of iOS5, but I was wrong. It didn't fix after I receieved my 4S. On a side note, I was having this problem initially on my iPhone 4, and it continued on to my iPhone 4S. This is probably one of the MOST ANNOYING problems I've had with my iPhone because my car displays my songs in the order they are on my phone too, and in my car I have to use a wheel and not a touchscreen to scroll all the way to the bottom (you get my point). I haven't actually found a fix for this to where everything works as it is supposed to, but today as I was tinkering with my iTunes to finally fix this problem I decided to sort all my songs by "newest songs modified" just to see if it would fix my sorting problem. It worked. My phone now has all my new songs on top of each of my playlists in ONLY the playlists I choose to have sorted in that specific way. After I realized this fixed my problem, I tried to re-sort all my songs by "date added" again just to see if it would fix my problem because having them sorted by "date modified" is an annoying problem I just dont want to have. It didn't work. So right now, I am sorting my songs on my phone by "date modified" because "date added" doesnt sort them the way it is supposed to when any playlist is transferred from my iTunes to my iPhone. Anyone know whats up? How can I let apple know about this annoying problem? Could it just be me and my computer? I've gone through multiple versions of iTunes, iOS5s including beta, and I've had the problem on two different iPhones. Coincidence? By the way I'm running windows 7, and no, I haven't searched much for this problem on forums or on google because it seems too specific to my situation (and im too lazy to look hard enough).

my problem started with the recent upgrade and this idea (sort on PC iTunes by date modified) worked. I did have to remove my playlist from my phone first and then resync to get things to respond but it seems to work. Why on earth Apple does not provide a mechanism for sorting ON THE F*&^ING PHONE is beyond me. For a company who's mantra is building things that 'they'd want to use' this gaff cannot possible fit into that paradigm.

  • Windows 8.1/Server 2012 R2 Exams - EFFECTIVE DATE ADJUSTED!

    Hi, everyone.
Microsoft has adjusted the effective starting date of when the Windows 8.0 exams and Windows Server 2012 exams will be updated to Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 at Prometric.
The new effective date is January 28, 2014.
This means that current study materials for many of these exams remain current. You have a little extra time to pass these exams before they are updated.
Which exams specifically? Other questions? Learn more or ask questions at the following blog entry:
    http://borntolearn.mslearn.net/btl/b/weblog/archive/2014/01/09/mcsa-windows-8-and-mcsa-windows-server-2012-exams-to-be-updated-january-28-2014.aspx
    Good luck!

    Hi, Ken.
Unfortunately, this exam will be updated on January 28th, 2012 to Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1.
It's too bad that Microsoft did not update the 70-417 exam description to tell you that. I know they
did update the exam descriptions for the other core exams, like 70-410.

    70-417 UPGRADE

    You have three painful choices:
Just take it anyway. Know that only some of the exam questions were updated. You can also learn what they are testing you for on the exam. You may even get lucky and still pass. You do have four (4) days to cram.
Reschedule the exam while paying that $35 reschedule fee.
    Cancel the exam.
New study books will be released this spring. Here is the list from O'Reilly:

Sorry that Microsoft didn't update the exam's description.  That's why I had the post turned into a sticky.
Good luck with your decision and with your exams.

  • Date Picker BUG on APEX 4.2.1

Hi all could you please open a ticket for the following bug.
    Reproducing the bug very simple.
    Apex specification :
    version 4.2.1.00.08
I'm not using HTML 5 template but the classic "Blue and Tan" one.
    1) Create a page with date picker with mask (DD-MON-YYY HH24.MI).
    2) set as default value the SYSDATE using the PLSQL expression (not specifying the mask to_char()).
    3) Try to use it and you will see that the year shown is not the correct one but is something like 1911.
I fixed using to_char(SYSDATE,'DD-MON-YYY HH24.MI') in the PLSQL expression.

    Hi Zere,
one very important thing to remember when dealing with session state (the value of a page item) is that everything is stored as string.
If you specify SYSDATE as your default expression, then the Oracle database will evaluate that as date data type, but as soon as it's stored in session state, the database will do an implicit data type conversion using the default format mask specified for your database session.
That's why it works when you do the TO_CHAR with the explicit format mask.

  • Data Guard Bug, which patch to fix?

It seems as though there is a bug in the Data Guard configuration through the Enterprise Manager. As I'm going through the process of setting up a physical standby database it asks me to specify a working directory. I specify the directory on a disk that has 250GB of free disk space and when I press next it does not proceed. It gives me an error "Insufficient Disk Space".
I googled for a solution to the problem and the only thing that came up was someone that had the same problem. This person mentioned that it is a known bug (3895311).
    Any help would be appreciated!
(This is an Oracle 10g install on a Windows 2003 server).

Great, the patch worked like a charm. I can now proceed. However, 2 steps after specifying a working directory on the primary database host, you have to specify a working directory on the standby database host. And again, I'm getting the "Insufficient Disk Space" bug (now on the standby database host). I applied the patch to the Management Agent ORACLE_HOME on the standby host, but it didn't work.
Should this have worked? Or is this another patch that I must get?
    Thanks

  • SQL Data Modeler bugs (or only misused?)

    Hi,
I think I ran into some modeler bugs and missing features ...
BTW: is there a place where all the known bugs are listed?
    * although "no action" was selected in "General Options - Model - Relational" for foreign keys all the foreign keys are created with
"not deferrable" (well, why not, if it makes the modeler happy) and
"on delete set null" (thats not what I'd call "no action")
    * DDL statements for indexes lack the schema name
    * newly generated foreign relations are not always displayed in the relational model
    * DDL preview for syncing physical model with relational does not (always) work (well - so far it worked once)
steps taken: File - Import - Data dictionary, selected objects for import, correct target model chosen, "swap target model" checked
    * foreign keys in unique constraints are always set to "not null" (in logical and physical model)
    * no trigger/constraint created for ARCs (I am not sure about this, but IIRC I did not see anything making an ARC really work)
Or do ARCs simply not work yet?
    * modeler hangs sometimes (e.g. when opening "Save as" dialog etc.)
    * dialogs are opened outside visible pane when the position of monitors is changed (the dialogs seem to remember their last position)
    * sequences (physical model withing relational model) are loosing their user
    * missing multi schema capabilities :-(
    * the layout capabilities - pardon my french - suck
Especially that the boxes and lines seem to wander around from one usage to the next (entities aligned with grid - next start the entities are no longer aligned).
And if you ever need to save/export the model somewhere else all the references stick to a single connection point.
Not to mention a simple move of a box ...
    Thank you for your effort

Edited by: stueckl on Sep 3, 2009 9:41 PM

    Hi Philip,
sorry for not answering quite a time ...
    Just some prerequisites ;-) ...
    - Target database: Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.4)
    - Modeler version 2.0.0 build 570
    - model creation method: logical model, relational model, (physical model), Database objects
    - OS WindowsXP German, SP3
    - JDK Sun Java 1.6, build 1.6.0_16-b01
    * nullable FK column in unique keys
meanwhile I found out, how to achieve that - but IMHO the steps to take are quite cumbersome
    1) make a FK relation with "target optional" checked on the Cardinality page of the FK properties
    2) open entity properties, check attributes of FK column (it says: nulls allowed - the checkbox cannot be changed)
    3) got to unique identifiers page and add a unique identifier
    4) open the unique identifier property dialog and add the foreign key
    5) close both property dialogs
    6) reopen the entity property dialog, check attributes of FK column (it says: no nulls allowed - the checkbox cannot be changed)
    7) check the FK properties: it still says: target optional (it is checked)
    8) check the graphical representation of the FK key: dashed line at target entity (meaning: optional)
    9) create the relational model: the FK column is created with "not null"
    10) go back to logical model
    11) change FK property to: target mandatory (uncheck "target optional")
    12) create relational model
    13) change FK property to: target optional (check "target optional")
    14) create relational model
    15) SUCCESS! the foreign key column is now nullable
BUT: you never ever must change ANY of the entities properties or you must redo steps 11 to 15
    * "no action" of FKs
I will look into that. Thanks for the suggestions.
    * DDL statements for indexes
Sorry for being imprecise ... I was talking about automatically generated indexes (for unique and foreign keys).
Those don't show up in the index listing of the tables in the physical model (probably, because they are automated).
But why do I have to set the default schema for indexes again? The tables get the schema information for the default schema (General Options - Model - Physical) but not the indexes :-(.
    Generated DDL snippet:
    CREATE TABLE ZCBC1ST1.ZCBRAGIT_AGENDAITEM ( ...
    CREATE UNIQUE INDEX ZCBSAgIt_U1X ON ZCBC1ST1.ZCBRAGIT_AGENDAITEM ( ...
Same for FK indexes. And the unique index property page in the physical table section does not let me specify a schema owner (OK for me, because the unique key is created by an "alter table" statement).
    * ARC trigger
My bad - I only checked "DDL preview" of the table, which doesn't show the ARC trigger. The complete generation does. Sorry.
    * "missing multi schema capabilities" and "sequences loose owner"
    Please excuse a newbie blush.
I just found out I can change the table owner using the physical model capabilities (I guessed I used way too long PowerDesigner V6 ;-) ).
    BUT ...
The newly created user does not "survive" a "save all - close all - open" sequence on "Physical Models" ... only closing the app or saving the Oracle10g physical model makes the user persistent.
And also ... if the new table or sequence owner is the first in the drop down list on the property dialog, the user is replaced by an automatically created new user (e.g. User4, User5, and so on).
    Example:
    * I have three defined users and the standard "MDSys" and "Public".
    * My three users are named ZCBC1ST1, ZCBCCore and ZCBCDial (those names are because i need to follow naming rules).
    * ZCBC1ST1 is my default physical model user, which was set in "General Options"
    * ZCBC1ST1 is the first in each drop down list.
    * I have some sequences named Seq1, Seq2, Seq3 and Seq4
    * Seq1 was given to ZCBC1ST1, Seq2 to MDSys, Seq3 to ZCBCCore and Seq4 to ZCBCDial
    * saved and closed the Oracle10g physical model and reopened it
    * Seq1 now has User4, but the other have still the users they were attached to
The same applies to tables - I am unable to give a table to the first entry of the user list.
Solution I found to this problem ...
    1) remove the default physical user in "General Options" (and never ever set it again)
    2) create a explicit user (with the name of the prior default user)
    3) manually reattach all objects to this user sigh
    4) so far not a problem with automatically generated indexes, because they don't use the default user anyway
    * newly generated FKs not shown in relational model
I had this odd behaviour several times.
    1) Logical model: adding a new FK relation
    2) giving the reference-column a pretty relational name
    3) generating the relational model
    4) rather often the new column shows up in the relational model but the arrow for the new foreign key does not.
    5) only after i open the properties dialog of the missing foreign key the arrow is shown in the model
    6) happens often to sub-models - less often to the top-model
    * model syncing (Oracle10g with modeler)
As Ms. Harper stated in one of her posts (and she even made a video tutorial IIRC) it should be possible to sync a Modeler model with the Oracle10g contents.
AFAIR the tutorial showed only how to sync the model with the contents but not vice versa.
I tried to achieve this checking the "swap target model" check box (that's the important thingy) of the import dialog. Everything worked fine besides there is only a preview of DDL statements available but no "Merge" or "Create DDL Statement". And exactly that preview doesn't seem to work anymore. No matter what objects I select, I am unable to see any DDL statements to upgrade the Database.
I don't know why, but it worked again just before. I will keep an eye on this. ;-)
    So much for now ...
    Thank you for your effort
