'Date and Time' messing up big time!

Under 'Date and Time' settings, it says that it's January 2, 2581 BE, and it won't let be set it back to the present date. Whenever I do, it puts every other month, date, and year so that I can't select it.
Another problem I'm having is that one alert keeps popping up every 30 seconds. It says 'Cannot Verify Server Identity. MobleMail can't verify the identity of "sptm.gmail.com". Would you like to continue anyway?'.

Go to Settings>General>International and make sure the calendar is set to Gregorian. Then correct the time and date.

  • Date and Time wrong after battery went flat, messing up whole system

    Hi all.
I had my iBook running free, no ac adapter connected.
This normally isn't a problem at all, if my iBook runs out of juice, it'll happilly sleep for hours. So I came back to use it again after an hour or so, expecting it to be asleep to find that it had totally powere down. The battery was out. I connected the ac adapter and booted.
Once OSX loaded, it told me the date was set to before march 2001, and would cause problems. Whaich was very accurate, I got BIG problems. The date has set to 1970, which would indicate the PMU was wiped/reset.
Normally I'd open system prefs and fix the date and time, but it won't load. OSX is running VERY slowly. Nothing works. No dock, finder is totally unresponsive, everything takes an age to load (if it even loads). I tried changing the date and time from terminal, but it wouldn't allow me, even though I'm logged in as the admin. Something odd I noticed in terminal was that the computer name seems to have changed. The iBook was Liam's-computer, my new core duo iMac became Liam's-computer-2, but terminal is now reporting the iBook as Liam's-computer-3.
Basically the whole thing is messed up, seemingly because of the stupid date time thing. Can I change the date and time in the Open Firmware?

Sounds like you may need your CMOS battery replaced.  It should not be a problem after you replace it.
Also, if you want to prolong your battery life, just detach it during computer use (use AC only).  Then while it is turned off I would actually plug it back in so your computer is never without a power source for an extended period of time.
There are many studies suggested that battery life will start decaying after 2-3 years regardless what method you use.  I actually recommend making the most use out of it.  Hope it helps.

  • [SOLVED] Date and Time messed up on GNOME

I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium, and I've got a dual-boot set up and running perfectly between Win7 and Arch. The only issue is that the date and time in GNOME shell is messed up.
I've checked the all-knowing ArchWiki, and it says that UTC is generally preferred, unless using a Windows operating system or something, in which case using localtime would be preferred. I've done that. the time in GNOME shell still shows up as inaccurate. I've reset the time in GNOME shell to fix it, but seeing as how /etc/rc.conf is sourced upon boot, my efforts were in vain.
Has this occurred with anyone else who has a dual-boot with Windows 7 where the time shows up as inaccurate? If so, what's the method of fixing it?

The wiki does mention UTC in Windows: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ti … in_Windows
Please post the output of 'hwclock --debug'.

  • Showing date and time not in the big sidebar

in the previous version i could see the date and time in a little window in the left bottom corner (when info was open) in the existing sidebar. i liked that very much.
now i can see it only in a very wide sidebar on the right when info is open. i don't like this very much.
that right sidebar takes a lot of place. i see a lot less photo's on the screen..
is there a option or hack to see the date and time when i hover above, or click a photo, on a existing top or bottom bar? space enough there...
    cheers...

    Afraid not.

  • Date and Time calculation in the Service Module

    Dear all,
I have quite of a challenge here and i need serious guidance from your side.
My client is in services industry and requires to calculate the date and time when the service call as to be closed. Not only it depends on the contract type the service is linked to but as well on the priority.
The priority in Business One is unique, therefore we created a UDT (User Defined Table) to store the different 'response time' per contract/per priority. Example: a Platinum contract is always 24/7. But a gold contract priority 1 has to be closed in 240 minutes (4 workable hours) while a gold contract priority 2 has to be closed in 480 minutes (8 workable hours).
I created 7 user defined fields on the Service Contract header that calculates the workable minutes per day. So if my coverage for Monday is from 8 AM to 4 PM, my UDF called DiffMon will show 480. For Tuesday, they start a bit later, and the coverage is 8:30 untill 16:00, therefore my UDF called DiffTue = 450.If the check box before the day in the Service Contract window is not ticked, then the UDF shows zero.
I succeeded to calculate the expected closing time by using CASE WHEN statements as following, (all calculated in minutes):
First, I need to check which day the Service call is created: A Monday or Thursday or... since my time coverage can change every day! I use SET DATEFIRST = 1 and compare today's date accordingly with my UDF DiffMon, DiffTue, etc.
Then, When end of coverage time today Monday (4PM) minus the create time on the Service Call (1PM) is less then the time stored in my user defined table for that contract and that priority (i.e.480), then just add that to the create time and the create date (DateAdd(mi,...,...) ).
When end of coverage time Monday (4PM) - Create time (1PM) + DiffTue(450) is bigger than 480, then I know I have enough time to solve my service call tomorrow Tuesday and I take the start time of Tuesday (8:30) + remaining time from yesterday (480-180 -> 180 = 3hours from 1PM to 4PM) and add that to the Create date + 1 so the end result will show Tuesday date and a time of 13:30
Etc. untill I cover all possibilities based on which day is the service call created.
NOW, I need to include the holiday table !!!!!!!!!!  And I can't foresee how the hell I am going to do that.
The maximum coverage can go up to 60 hours, that means more than a working week! What happens if I have more than one bank holiday in that week period? What happens when my holiday table tells me that  date is a bank holiday but it is actually a Sunday and my contract is only running from Monday to Friday?
Am I going straight to a big mess up?
I will highly appreciate your comments,
    Regards,
    Frederic

    Hi,
it is possible in query designer,
u do the two things for getting the days between to dates
    1) in CMOD write the code for sy-datum create a customer exit variable in query as on caldate like eg zcedate
    when 'zcedate'.
    clear l_s_range.
    l_s_range-sign = 'i'.
    l_s_range-opt = 'eq'.
    l_s_range-low = sy-datum.
    append l_s_range to e_t_range.
    u write this code exit_saplrrso_001.
    it givs the sydatum
    2) then u create one more variable on zdate limit with replacement path
then u go forto create the formula variable then it display ascreen there u select both customer exit variable and replacement path variable
    zcedate-replacementpathvariable
it gives days i worked on this and succedded.
like the same way fortime also u can do but here at the time of creating the customer exit varible u go for option as range here
    l_s_range-low = '20012009'
    l_s_range-high = '29012009'
    l_s_range-sign ='i'.
    l_s_range-opt = 'bt'.
please try with the above one.

  • How can I preserve the date and time of photos when moving them from iPhone to iPhoto and then to other folders on my computer?

In the past I’ve had no problem moving photos from my iPhone 4 into various folders on my computer while retaining their original date and time. I would import into iPhoto, then drag the photos from iPhoto into other folders via the Finder or Adobe Bridge (which is my principal image organizer). The original date and time of the photo would always travel with the jpeg into iPhoto and then into other folders. However, sometime during a recent session transferring photos in this way, the dates of the photos started to change at the point when I copied them out of iPhoto. Within iPhoto itself, the various original dates of the photos are retained. But in Finder and Bridge, copies of those same photos all carry the same (worthless) date: the date and time that they were imported from my iPhone. I can’t figure out what would have changed on my Mac to make it start re-dating my photos. I was happily dragging and dropping photos, and suddently I started to lose the original dates. Did I inadvertently change some settings? (I am running OS 10.6.8 and using iPhoto 8.)

(I use iPhoto only to import from my iPhone; I organize all my images, including thousands of RAW files, in folders on a big external drive.)
Why are you using iPhoto at all? use image capture or drag and drop the photos
The problem is that the files I am copying are getting stripped of the EXIF metadata
eliminating iPhoto from your work flow will eliminate one oppertunity to have this happen  For photos in iPhoto it is best to export them rather than drag an drop them - this assures your EXIF and IPTC data is correct and uptodate
Why would I be able, over many years, to retain EXIF metadata in photos imported from an iPhone--then one day find that the same workflow strips such photos of EXIF data?
Because exporting is the supported way to "export" photos - I never drag and drop photos out of iPhoto and I never use thrid party programs on the photos in the iPhoto library - try exporting as suggested above and see if that is the solution

  • Dates and times in APO

    Hi All
I am getting bit messed up with different dates and times in R/3 and APO. Could you please provide me some details on the relation and where these dates and times are maintained in APO  and R/3
    1. Transit Time:
Is it Total Replenishment time, Planned Delivery Time
Is it maintained in Purchase Infor Record or Transportation lane
    2. Material Availability Date
Can PPDS works on MAD or only on Delivery Requirement date (as in RRP3)
    3. Does PPDS Considers
Goods Issue Time, Goods Receipt time, Load Time / Pick Pack time for scheduling the order or for total duration of the order. As in DS it can show if the order can be on time or delayed with respect to delivery time! (in Network view of DS) so it considering the transit time and all other time maintained!
Please let me know how to straighten these things out!
    Thank you in advance

    RK,
However in RRP3 and Planning Book and DS board I am getting the delivery date only, Is there something I need to check on customizing for this, please suggest!
The date that is displayed in these screens is the requirement date used by planning.
Are you attempting to implement ATP in SCM?  Delivery/transportation scheduling must be performed in SCM.  During GATP, delivery date from ERP is passed to SCM.   SCM performs scheduling and calculates the MAD.   Without the scheduling, then delivery date = MAD.  http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm700_ehp02/helpdata/EN/05/f8923945b12c4de10000000a114084/frameset.htm

  • When I try to adjust the date and time of an event by selecting Photos from iPhoto, the year I enter is altered.

I have images in iPhoto from an older digital camera which did not record the date and time.  In iPhoto, with an event selected, I have tried to adjust the date and time by choosing Photo.  When I adjust the date and check Modify original files, it makes the date much earlier--in centuries.  I now have an event from August 2003 (the date I entered) which reads June 2, 1251 under the event!  When I attempt to correct it, it goes back further in time.  What am I doing wrong?

  • "Adjust Date and Time..." will convert your TIFFs to JPGs!!!

I wanted to let everyone know of a serious bug that I've been discussing in the following thread: [http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1315705&tstart=0].
Here's the bug. If you use the "Adjust Date and Time..." function on a TIFF file, and have iPhoto modify the original file, iPhoto will make the time adjustment, but it will *save a JPEG over your original TIFF, with the original .TIF name!!!*
Big nasty bug. After you do this function, you have lost all that lossless TIFF data since your pictures was overwritten by a lossy JPG!
    nathan

    nathan:
What type of edit were you making. Have been trying to duplicate that and cannot. I've changed the date and selected the original file to be changed also. Then I edited the file by cropping, changing the exposure and shadows and saving. Both versions are still tiff files.
Now these are tiff files that I converted over from jpgs with Photoshop as my camera doesn't take tiffs. Don't know if that will make any difference.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Lost clips after adjusting date and time??

I just updated to iMovie 10.0.3 and adjusted a buch of events in iMovie. All of them were incorrectly placed in wrong years when viewing in "by date" format. After adjusting the date and time with the event highlighted, I come to see either all or some (a clip of two) of the event is lost. The good old "missing file" is what I get in the playback window.
I want to go on an anti-iMovie rant as this version has caused me NOTHING but headaches sence I installed it last year but it's MY fault for not having a spare iMovie 9.0 laying around so I cannot revert.
Is there any solution here besides wiping my iMovie library clean and restoring from TM?
    Thanks.
EDIT, I just looked in each event in the file system and the original media is not even there anymore but the library size hasnt changed. Wow. I don't get this at all.

There seems to be a serious bug here that has been introduced with iMovie 10.0.3, and reported by several posters.   I would recommend you report it using Apple feedback at: http://www.apple.com/feedback/
There is probably a particular infrequent set of conditions that have to exist for a clip to be deleted after using the adjust time and date function, but I've seen no posts yet that have clarified this.  Any further details you have would be worth reporting - for example did you change the date/time to earlier or later?  If only some date/time changed clips have disappeared, do they have anything in common, not shared by the clips which havn't disappeared?
You could restore your library from Time machine or, if there are not many lost clips it may be simpler and quicker s to re-import (or drag and drop) the clips from a backup and correct affected projects.  (Maybe you can change their date and time before importing them).
As for the library size were the clips big enough to make a visible difference to the library total?
Have you searched for the missing clips by name?
    Geoff.

  • Date and Time adjustments for multiple photos

Hello, thanks for providing the space for new users, and thanks in advance for your assistance.
I am currently moving out of apple aperture/iphoto and across to lightroom 5.
The OCD part of me likes to have my library organized, and I noticed that when I transferred my library across it is in a bit of a mess, so I am currently in the process of organizing the library and cleaning it up (approximately 18000 photos)
Any how, I have almost settled on a folder structure (YYYY/MM - I feel for the number of photos I have trying to nut down to day might be to much - happy to receive advise on this also)
For the most part, the photos have correct date and time from the commencement of the digital era (for me 2006 onwards)
Photos pre 2006 are in negative form, and I am currently in process of having these scanned and imported into library, I have a batch done every month.  Adjusting the date and time from the creation date is where I am running into trouble.
I have looked around the web and various forums to no avail.
Firstly, I organize the photos into the correct order.  I then select the first photo and the then select the remaining photos.  I then select the adjust date/time from the menu and select the first option, adjust to new date and time, lets say 01/01/1990 at 1200 PM.
The result I end up with is the first photo (the more selected photo if correct term) has 01/01/1990 @ 1200 as date and time, the remaining have 01/01/1990 as date (if I am lucky), and the times jump all over the place.  Sometimes it wont even change the date time for the remaining photos.
What I am trying to achieve is either the same Date/Time for all the photos when I select a batch, or have them increment in time by a standard amount (i.e 1 minute (1200/1201/1202) or 1 second (1200:00/1200:01/1200:02)), and I just dont seem to be able to work this out to automatically do this, currently I have to achieve this by a manual adjusting each photo (some 200 at a time) which is really labor intensive
Thanks in advance, and hoping an easy solution
    Regards
    Dean

Thanks, that seemed to fix the problem.
    Workflow is:
    1) In grid view arrange photos in correct order
    2) Rename photos with a name & sequence (i.e. photos-1), this appears to then keep the photos organized as how I had arranged in grid view
    3) Export photos & delete original photos from my master library
    4) Open exported photos in an EXIF editor and change date & time to a common format (I am currently using the seasons as a guide, i.e. the photos that I recall being taken in spring are dated the first day of spring, using noon as the time)
    5) Import back to Lightroom and organizing as per my usual structure.
This has allowed me to easily batch change date and times, keeping the correct order and has drastically reduce my workload, thanks for the suggestion!

  • Date and time keeps going to Dec. 1060's

iPod 4 date and time keeps locking up to the 60's and won't hold actual date. Changed account info and does not recognize it, keeps returning to the old account. Multiple family members on the account and our game progress messes up everyone else's. Help!!!!

Hi appleoclock, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Not sure this works since that Qursical update, but the cure for that used to be...
    Apple Menu Bar Icons Gone
You've probably got a couple of corrupt preference files.
    In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences", delete com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ByHost", delete com.apple.systemuiserver.xxx.plist where 'xxx' is a 12 digit (hexadecimal) numeric string.
This will reset your Menu Bar to the default, you'll need to go through System Preferences to reset the ones you need. (If they are already checked, uncheck them first and then recheck them).

  • Date and time are wrong

My date and time are wrong on boot up and won't adjust back to normal automatically.  I think the internet is telling me it's a problem with either my PRAM or CMOS or NVRAM battery, the little guy that holds info while the big guy is tapped.  I want to replace this. Is that possible?  What is the battery actually called?

    Hey MisterW,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like you wish to reset your PRAM/NVRAM, the following article should assist you:

  • EXIF date and time data issues

I have several thousand images shot during the same trip, on two different cameras. The date and on one of the cameras was not correct. I corrected the date on the images using PhotoInfo 2.0.1
The problem is that Bridge CS3 is not recognizing the new date on all of the images. Most of the images show and can be sorted in Bridge by the new, correct date. However, any image that I altered in Bridge (rotated, cropped, opened in ACR, rated, etc...) prior to correcting the date in PhotoInfo is not showing the new, corrected date in Bridge.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
    Anyone know of a solution?
I have been struggling with this issue for quite a while so any input will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I have the exact same problem - corrected the EXIF date and time and still wrong sorting. The thing is that Bridge sorts the files by "Creation Date", the date and time you also see in the Finder. So I found an application that can change that, too. But still Bridge sorts the files in the wrong order! Displays the old time, too.
After several times of emptying the cache, sorting is now ALL messed up (without any kind of logic), I don't know how to fix it.

  • My AppleTV cannot set date and time. I've reset it, but after 3 hours, it is still trying

My AppleTV used to work fine. Someone messed with my Time Capsule, so I had to have it worked on. Since it was messed up, the AppleTV can't function. I reset it and updated everything. It said "Activating" and "setting date and time". After 3 hours, it is still trying to set the date and time. Now what do I do? Thanks for any help.

As I previously wrote in a former post:
I will first assume you are still setting up your new Apple TV. Is this is the case, use a website like canyouseeme.com to check if port 123 is open. If it is not, this is your issue of your Apple TV not being able to connect to the timeserver. Try contacting your Internet Service Provider for help with opening this port.
Otherwise, try hard resetting your Apple TV by disconnecting all power for 30 seconds. If the problem still persists, you may try hard resetting your router by also unplugging all power for 30 seconds.
Hope this worked out well for you. If you are having further troubles you can always connect it to iTunes using a micro-usb and restore it. Lastly, the Genius Bar will be more than happy to fix the problem for you if you'd like to make a reservation for your local Apple Store.
