    Hi TJK, Thanx for answering,
My MBP have already a three months bought, what i should do, call to apple or to dealer?
I supposed its in warranty yet. THX
Your MBP has a one year hardware warranty on it.
As Trey suggested, it wouldn't hurt to try an SMC reset. If that doesn't work, you definitely want to contact AppleCare so you get it taken care of under warranty.

  • Date and Time wrong after battery went flat, messing up whole system

    Hi all.
I had my iBook running free, no ac adapter connected.
This normally isn't a problem at all, if my iBook runs out of juice, it'll happilly sleep for hours. So I came back to use it again after an hour or so, expecting it to be asleep to find that it had totally powere down. The battery was out. I connected the ac adapter and booted.
Once OSX loaded, it told me the date was set to before march 2001, and would cause problems. Whaich was very accurate, I got BIG problems. The date has set to 1970, which would indicate the PMU was wiped/reset.
Normally I'd open system prefs and fix the date and time, but it won't load. OSX is running VERY slowly. Nothing works. No dock, finder is totally unresponsive, everything takes an age to load (if it even loads). I tried changing the date and time from terminal, but it wouldn't allow me, even though I'm logged in as the admin. Something odd I noticed in terminal was that the computer name seems to have changed. The iBook was Liam's-computer, my new core duo iMac became Liam's-computer-2, but terminal is now reporting the iBook as Liam's-computer-3.
Basically the whole thing is messed up, seemingly because of the stupid date time thing. Can I change the date and time in the Open Firmware?

Sounds like you may need your CMOS battery replaced.  It should not be a problem after you replace it.
Also, if you want to prolong your battery life, just detach it during computer use (use AC only).  Then while it is turned off I would actually plug it back in so your computer is never without a power source for an extended period of time.
There are many studies suggested that battery life will start decaying after 2-3 years regardless what method you use.  I actually recommend making the most use out of it.  Hope it helps.

  • As I open my computer, there's a notification telling me to allow these files for a connection, which are very unsual for my mac. I allowed one and my date and time reset to january 1 of 2001. It caused my internet connection to stop working properly.

Please help me figure out what causes my internet connection and airport extreme run erratically.  It occurred twice already and my only solution is to reset the date and time, and restart my macbook pro. after that, everything seems to work perfectly again. This is only problem that my macbook pro encountered for two years. Thanks!

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Hello to all Pureview 808 lover,
I taken out my SIM card from my Pureview 808 during the weekend and left it turn off over the weekend.
(with battery pack attached and it happen many time)
On Monday, when I put back my SIM card and found the date and time of my Pureview 808 is reset back to default.
So, I just wonder it is nature of the design or the clock battery is weaken ?
    Regards
    Anderson

Yes, it can be fixed, but it's not an easy task.
It depends on the iMac you own. To have an idea have a look at this guide

  • My charger switched off my iPhone and now my phone will not switch on unless connected to the charger. But, I cannot access wifi or my sim and the date and time resets. It does not connect to iTunes and freezes after five minutes

It will not recognise sound and if I take it off the charger, it immediately switches off. I've installed iOS8 previously but nothing is working. Please help!!

There's only one thing you can do: make an appointment with Apple genius at the Apple retail store for a out of warranty replacement.

  • Lumia 800 Date And Time Incorrect After Restart

I purchased a Lumia 800 in the UK in December 2012 (SIM FREE) and I have a problem when I switch it on where it resets the date to anything like 1980 or 2084(?) and the time to a random setting. I have looked for a solution but cannot find one that works. Will this issue be fixed with the Windows Phone 7.8 update that's coming? When the date is wildly out it affects the functionality of the phone i.e. sync issues. I have tried restarting a Lumia 610 and this problem does not occur. Are all Lumia 800s the same i.e. (hardware revision)? I thought that if I returned to the retailer a new version my fix the issue.

I'm facing the same issue with my Lumia 800, or rather was. Here's my situation: initially the handset would keep resetting the date to 1980 (and a random time) each time I switched it off and on again. This happened whether I was connected to wifi/mobile data or not. I've recently done a reset of the handset (using the option from within Settings) and this has partially resolved the issue.
Now if I'm connected to wifi/data when I switch the phone off/on the date resets to August 2013. If, however, I'm not connected to wifi/mobile data when I switch the phone off/on the date/time remain unaffected. So this would suggest that it's not an internal battery issue which is what I first suspected. As it stands now then the best option is to reset the handset and then ensure you turn off wifi and data/internet before switching the handset off/on. Still annoying to say the least, but partial workaround.
Furthermore there is no automatic date/time setting to toggle on/off under the date/time settings (removed by the last update I gather?), just an option to toggle between 12hr or 24hr clock. My handset is on the latest OS version and firmware.
Any idea if Nokia/Windows are working on this issue? Just doing a Google serach for this issue and it appears that a fair few other Lumia 800 users are facing the same problem.
    Thanks.

  • HT1689 I keep getting the error: Cannot connect to ITunes Store. I recently updated the iOS on the ipad3. Have tried heaps of fixes as suggested in various threads. DNS, date and time, reset etc

I am a fairly new apple user, just got the new ipad, as part of an evaluation program. I recently did an iOS update and now keep getting the error message:cannot connect to iTunes Store... I tried date changing - no good ... The only thing that worked was to change the DNS setting to 0.0.0.0 as described in another thread. This fix for a day and now still getting the same error message and DNS setting changes do nothing. I have tried the reset method several times to no avail. I'm beginning tho think the ipad wasn't a great idea.... Apple need to attend to this. Like many, I have already wasted too much time looking for a fix. I am part of an IT in education group that will soon be recommending a specific hardware and OS. Could result in the loss of thousands of ipad sales for apple ....
Anyhow... All or any suggestions are welcome :)

Also, I've just learned that I can connect to download new apps, but cannot update any apps I've downloaded in the past. How might I go about connecting my reset apple ID with its history from before it was reset? I assume that is the biggest issue.

  • Date and Time Reset

I've got my clock set to synch automatically, but everytime I turn on my machine the date is set for Jan. 1970. I'm thinking it has something to do with the firewall on my wireless network, as I have to tell my airport to connect to the network (as opposed to it just doing it). But why reset to 1970? Why wouldn't the clock simply just keep going?

Durden, Welcome to the discussion area!
The iBook does NOT have a separate PRAM battery. It only has the single large battery. So the other suggestions of replacing the PRAM battery won't work for you.
Have you tried resetting the PRAM?
Have you tried resetting the PMU?

  • My AppleTV cannot set date and time. I've reset it, but after 3 hours, it is still trying

My AppleTV used to work fine. Someone messed with my Time Capsule, so I had to have it worked on. Since it was messed up, the AppleTV can't function. I reset it and updated everything. It said "Activating" and "setting date and time". After 3 hours, it is still trying to set the date and time. Now what do I do? Thanks for any help.

As I previously wrote in a former post:
I will first assume you are still setting up your new Apple TV. Is this is the case, use a website like canyouseeme.com to check if port 123 is open. If it is not, this is your issue of your Apple TV not being able to connect to the timeserver. Try contacting your Internet Service Provider for help with opening this port.
Otherwise, try hard resetting your Apple TV by disconnecting all power for 30 seconds. If the problem still persists, you may try hard resetting your router by also unplugging all power for 30 seconds.
Hope this worked out well for you. If you are having further troubles you can always connect it to iTunes using a micro-usb and restore it. Lastly, the Genius Bar will be more than happy to fix the problem for you if you'd like to make a reservation for your local Apple Store.

  • Date and time 12 hours off

The date and time are 12 hours off on all my Idevices (Ipads and I pod touches), YET the time is correct on my Iphone and all my computers and my router.  The date/time are set to generate automatically.  When I turn this feature 'off' the time immediate changes 12 hours back to the correct time.  However, synchronized events on my calendars (say, with gmail calendar) remain 12 hours off.  I have no idea what is going on.  I had thought this may have something to do with my wi-fi and/or router, but the 'automatic' date/time change regardless of whether wi-fi is even on or off on the devices.  Also, I can't figure out why the Iphone would have the right time when the other devices all have the time off by 12 hours.  Any ideas

Thanks, but something is still wrong.  I have tried to set the date and time manually and this does fix the general time on the Idevice; however, programs such as weather and the calendar still show events 12 hours when they synch to gmail calendar. So something about the Idevice is still telling the device it is 12 hours off even though I have set the date/time manually.

When I turn my Nokia N95 8GB on I always have to set the time and date, even when i've not removed the battery. • Asked to change Date and Time upon starting my G5 with Leopard 10.5.5

Hello, I just installed Leopard 10.5.5 on my G5 2dual 2.7 and eveything works great. The only issue I see, which is minor, is I am always asked to change the date and time manually after starting up the computer. The date defaults to June 1st 1969 or something crazy like that. I check the set date and time automatically and if sets itself correctly- Like I said this isn't really creating any functionality problems, but I am curious to know why I am always getting that message? Thanks in advance, Brett

Sounds like a failing PRAM battery. See http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=search&q=pram%20battery&archive=y for appropriate items.

  • Resetting the date and time after the phone has be...

    Hi,
I keep having to reset the date and time very time I turn my phone off. I was thinking it was to do with the battery so I fully charged it, turned it off then turned it on again and it asks me for the date and time.
I only noticed this because I've had exams and I have to turn my phone off for them.
Could it be a dying internal battery?
I know with computers there's a BIOS battery that controls date and time. When they start to die the date and time are inaccurate.
I'll have to find time to take it to the 3-Mobile shop either on Sunday or sometime next week if it is an internal battery problem.
    Thanks,
    Omar

    Hi omar3256
I believe that there is a very small component on the motherboard which serves this purpose, although whether battery or sort of capacitor I am not certain. The N80 especially seemed to be prone to this failure.
