Date and Time Will not change the Month

In my System Preferences I can not highlight or change the month from "1" in any manner. This is consistent throughout the system for iTunes (last played), iCal, Finder, etc. a file saved today would be saved as 2008.1.18 as consistent with my layout preferences, but not the actual date. However, in the expanded view, it still will read as May 18th, 2008. Any ideas? Currently I'm in Israel and there aren't any Genius Bars around here, but if not, I'll try in August, in NY

I can't say if Lion has the ability to fix itself, however, I've been useing it since the day it was released and a few bugs it had at first went away after a few days on their own. As far as setting the Date & Time on AppleTV and the other WiFi issues I was having after updating to 10.7.1 (which I felt were huge, persistent, and unacceptable), everything is functioning properly now. The only change I made was this: I made sure that I had a connected WiFi connection using the Airport Utility and Network Preferences via System Preferences and then I locked the Network Preferences to prevent further changes. I can't say for sure if that was all that was needed, but AppleTV, WiFi, and Home Sharing are once again operating correctly and usable.

The date and time will not set why?

It keeps saying selecting date and time but never does. I tried signing in with my apple ID and it says to set date and time first and the only thing it lets me select is state.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
    1.    You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    2.    Also try restarting the router.
    3.    If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
If this is a new Apple TV, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.

You can't run PSE from a USB drive, nor can you transfer PSE to a different computer via a USB drive. PSE must be installed on a computer using the installer program provided by Adobe.

The setting date and time is not working

Bought an apple TV, installed it as per instruction, connected to my internet but the seting date and time is not occuring and the activation cannot occur either. Spent 1 hr on the phone with Apple support staff - they told me it may be a router blockage and to contact my internet provider. contacted internet provider , they tell me everything is working from their end so must be the apple TV device. I was told this was easy techonology and that I would not have issues - I have spent 3 hrs on this and truly frustrated as its not working . any suggestions would help!

That would be a network issue as you were initially advised. When the date and time can not be set it means it is having trouble connecting to the network.
Make sure router is up to date, reboot router and ATV. Make sure location is set correctly via ATV and also DNS (settings - general - network - configure DNS - automatic)
Make sure your router allows access over port 123.
Failing that try a restore on the unit

On the iPod, make sure your Calendar is set to Gregorian (Settings > General > International > Calendar). Also make sure your date and time on your computer is correct as well as the Time Zones on both.

You should be able to play most videos with QuickTime player once both are installed.

You can change the phone number the verification code is sent to from a device or Mac that has your iCloud keychain enabled as follows:
In iOS 8, tap Settings > iCloud > Keychain > Advanced. In iOS 7, tap Settings > iCloud > Account > Keychain. Make sure the phone number under Verification Number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.
In OS X Mavericks v10.9, choose Apple () > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account Details. Make sure the phone number under Verification number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.

Entourage Calendar Events: Dates and times are not being saved accurately

After an event has been created and saved, the date and time will change pushing the event forward, but not consistently. Some events jump forward a few hours others an entire day or more. I've been using this program for many years without fault but this problem started several days ago after a recent automated software update. It is not only happening with newly created events, it has also altered events saved weeks ago! (note: time zone is set accurately in the System Preferences and Entourage)

I would check Microsoft's Entourage 2004 forum to see if others have experienced the same issue. Entourage 2004 has been replaced with Entourage 2008 awhile back. It may be those issues are fixed with 2008 and will never be in 2004, or you may need a later patch for 2004. If the automated software update was Microsoft's I'd contact Microsoft, if it was Apple's, this may just be a sign you need to upgrade your Microsoft to keep up with Apple. Whenever you do a system level software update you always need to verify compatibility bugs don't exist with the newer system when you are talking about other third party software. There are way too many third party software titles out there new and old for Apple to test with its own system given the time frame people desire updates.
