Date as a key figure

Hi Experts,
I defined date as a key figure, AAAAMMGG,Iu2019m able to view data in my ODS, but when I try to create a query data format is wrong.
Can anybody share a solution.

Hi,
May be you are getting a number. What looks like your wrong format? If it is a number,display your figure with a formula, where you will find option to convert data to numbers and number to date.

I have a virtual key figure whose value depends in part on the key date entered by the user. I have the VKF set up with a dummy calculation, and it is working OK.
How do I refer to the value of the key date in the code that assigns the VKF value?

Found the answer, thanks to another thread:
Function RRS_VAR_VALUE_FROM_MEMORY_GET with I_VNAM equal to the key date variable returns the value of the key date.

BEx 7 Style of data area and key figures

Hi
I am working with BEx 7 and I just have designed a new workbook. My current problem is the style of the result area which is formatted via the style SAPBEXStdData.
Scenario:
3 Key-Figures, which have different setups in the Query-Designer with 1, 2 or 0 decimal places.
In the workbook all of those results are formatted via the same style. So which format for SAPBEXStdData should I use, to get different decimal places for the key-figures?
For Example the Excel-Values are 0,4567 although being set to "2 decimals" in Query-Designer. Therefor I need to set a style for formatting, but I have no idea how to seperate the key-figures style via the workbook
Any ideas?

Bex wouldn't be able to give what you are looking for. I would think you can use a virtual KF instead of the calculated formula to realise this.

Why date as characteristic/Key figure

Hi,
I need a real reason why does one choose to add date as KF or Characteristic ?
I understand that Date KF shows the no. of days since 01.01.0001 to the present day.
But when I do reporting - I do not see the same. (using BeX)
Can you please explain a bit more.

there is s difference in the reporting...
if your date is characteristics, then you can create variables, etc,,,that means all the properties for characteristics is applicable for the same...
incase the date is KF, then properties of KF is applicable to date, e.g calculate the date difference, etc...

Restrict on a "Date" type (key-figure)

1. I need to define a query, to compare the planed-date and the current-date(today), if planed-date>today, then in the new column, the firstday of the month will be listed
(e.g. 1-12-2005).
could you give me some suggestion, how can I found the functions of reading date in Query Designer.(I didn't find any function in the Form).
2. Any how can I add Macro in the report? is there some document I can read in SDN?

Hi Tony,
I dont know details about your infoobjects design tech aspects. Hence, I propose that what will work. You can adjust your design accordingly.
I encountered a problem while working with dates determined as key figure attribute.
But with dates as reference to 0CALDAY attributes everything works.
So, we have a Project infoobject. Create plan-beg-date and plan-end-date characteristics with reference to 0CALDAY. Assign them as attributes to Project. For testing purposes enter manualy several master data for it. Insert it as a data target (RSA1, infoproviders area). If you have a cube with the Project, then you dont need the previous step.
In BEx, create a V1 formula variable for plan-beg-date: replacement path, char = Project, Replace var with = Attribute value, Attribute = plan-beg-date, check To value.
Similarly, create V2 formula variable for plan-end-date.
Create in columns a new structure. If you work with Project infoobjects as infoprovider, put into structure Number of records KF, otherwise the following steps might not work. Add into the structure a new formula = V1, new formula = V2, new formula = V2 - V1. It will give you the the planned duration of the project.
Now, create X1 & X2, two customer exit variables on 0CALDAY. Based on either user entered reporting day or on current sys-day they should return the first and last days of the reporting/current month.
In the structure create another formula for corrected beginning date:
DATE ( ( 'V1' < 'X1' ) * 'X1' + ( 'X1' < 'V1' ) * 'V1' )
and a formula for corrected ending date:
DATE ( ( 'V2' > 'X2' ) * 'X2' + ( 'X2' > 'V2' ) * 'V2' )
Now you can calculate planned days for the reporting month or even the total number of project plan days.
About macro you execute a query, embed it into a workbook, write a macro and save the workbook. Next time youll open the workbook in Analyzer.

Updating data in APO demand planning key figure

We have a key figure in Demand planning which is not present in Info cube, This key figure is just avaialable in SAPAPO SDP94for manullay key in some data, Now I want to update data in this key figure via extrnal file i.e text file.
Could u suggest some ways for this, Remember this key figure is not present in Info cube, Hence we can not feed in External file to Info cube, We some other way for updating data in this key figure,

If your client is not Ok with standard way of flat file upload, Also If you will get a file from external customer on weekly basis then definitely they will put it somewhere either on local server or application server.
I would suggest, Define the format for the flat file,Ask User to put that file on application server, Write a simple program to get data from that file on application server, Update the KeyFigure using standard BAPIs available,After updation delete that file from server.Schedule this program in background on weekly basis so that every time it will check for new file on server path and update the Keyfigure accordingly.
I know this is a custom development but this will work.

Restricted key figure not populating data

Hi,
The quesry is on Multiprovider? or infoset? it matters first..... or directly on cube? check it and apply relevent infoprovider properties for logic check.
Check the global filters are there any infoprovider restrications etc...
And also while checking the datafor the KF in infoprovide " use ALL the restrictions that are in query and impact the data"
also try removing the restiction and look for data...

Info cube key figure quantity is more than the data source

Hi,
I am loading data from a custom table data source into an info cube. The data records and key figure quantity of the info cube is more than the data source custom table.
I checked the extraction in RSA3. The number of records records and key figure quantity are exactly extracted from the data source in RSA3 transaction.
But after loading using the info package, the number of records and the key figure quantity of the info cube is more than the actual records available in the data source. The update rule is simple 1 to 1 mapping.
Kindly help to troubleshoot this issue.

Hi,
There could be some other data already avilable in the Infocube. Pls take the Request ID or Number from the last run of the Infopackage you used and check the records only for that Request ID in Infocube.
You can check the data in the LISTCUBE Transaction.

Key figure - master data info object

I have been asked to create a master data info object for the object "users" and this is this how the data looks like in the flat file. The object users is a key figure. Can I create a master data object for key figures. Let me know , if I am missing something.

Hi Pooja,
You cannot create master data for a key figure. You can include a key figure as an attribute for another characteristic though. If you need to store values that are in the form of numbers, you can create your char of type NUMC.
Please let us know more about your scenario so that a better solution may be proposed.

Mass Data Loads into SNP Key figures

Hi All,
Does anyone have any knowledge of doing mass data uploads agains key figures (e.g. Safety Stock Planned). There is a transaction /SAPAPO/TSKEYFMAIN - Mass maintenace of Time Series Key figures, but this does not give me the option of loading thousands of materials at one time. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

As Kaushik has mentioned you can upload data from info cube to planning book for time series key figures and you can read data maintained in excel and upload it to your info cube.
But i have a question. Why cant you maintain safety stock in APO product master for the material branch and using macro read data from product master and populate safety stock key figure ? Acutally you can maintain the safety stock in R/3 and as soon as you CIF material to APO the safety stock field in product master will get populated and you can read that using a macro .

Unable to Change Key Figure in DP

Hello Experts,
I am facing an error in Demand Planning. There is an existing Key figure in which I need to change the Type/Data type from Number to Quantity wherein it is showing Grey(uneditable) even in Change mode. The other tabs like Aggregation, Additional Properties are showing as editable.
Could you please provide how to modify this Type/Data type field in the key figure. I would appreciate your quick turnover based on which I need to decide on my solutioning approach to my client.

Try to delete the existing data in your key figure. and then try to change the key figure type. However in SNP i checked that keyfigure type can be changed. Are using RSA1 for this?

Key Figure in a Input Ready Query

I have 9 key figures in my input ready query. 5 of them are not input ready and being loaded through a job and 4 are input ready. There is a problem with one key figure, I am able to see data for the key figure when i have START QUERY IN THE CHANGE MODE turned off. But once I turn it on it is not showing any data for the key figure. This is happening only wiht that key figure, all the other key figures are working fine. Could someone help fixing this

Hi,
I do face this type problem during my BI IP implemenation project. Pls chk thoroughly the following points.
1.The planning mode of your real-time infocube should be on always on( you need change from load to planning mode, while inputting data).
2.The START QUERY IN THE CHANGE MODE , should be on.
3.In the planning tab of key figures, ensure you enable the button : Data can be changed using planning functions.
4.In the advanced tab of key figures, pls make sure to enable the right button( Master data).
5.Pls make sure , the real time infocube, aggregation levels, filters etc, should be refreshed & active,if make any changes in planning model in between, in Aggregation levels,filters etc.
6. Pls chk the locks( SM12) always, and delete all of them, if any.
7. Log-off the Server (BEX/DWWB) and restart the BEX ,then open your Input query, it should work .

How to populate values in DP key figure which is not present in Info Cube

We have a special Key figure in Demand Planning created for uplaoding Forecasts coming directly from customer,
This key figure is not present in Info Cube and data doesnot pupulate in this key figure through Info cube build,
Hence data in this key figure is to be loaded externally , Customer sends his forecasts through EDI messages, Now we want to update forecast from external customer in to this special key figure,
Please suggest some ways

I think you can get loaded this information in the cube in any other key figure which is available in the info cube. Then while loading the data into planning area using TSCUBE, you can define the key figure assignment.
In which you define data from which key figure of infocube has to be get loaded into which key figure of planning area. Here you can define the respective key figures.

Problem in using formula when key figure is commulative

I am problem in generating the report when we use the of cummulative key figure to the formula..
consider the following senerio..
Date      KF1 KF2 KF1(C) Kf2(C) Formula (KF1(C) - KF2(C)
5.10.2005 1   2   1       2      -1 (wrong result)
6.10.2005 3   4   4(1+3) 6      -1
7.10.2005 5   6   9(4+5) 12     -1
System is taking the actual KF1data is subtracted with KF2 data it not taking cummulative data, Actually my requirement i want to subract the cummulative data between two key figure (ie KF1(c)-KF2(c))
My Required Output:
Date      KF1 KF2 KF1(C) Kf2(C) Formula (KF1(C) - KF2(C)
5.10.2005 1   2   1       2            -1 (Correct)

what i did yesterday was i have creted a two key figure as a cummulative key figure ..
and when i try to subtract two cummulative key figure system is subtracting with actual key figure and hence i got wrong result.
Today i did same thing, only diffence is i made the third formula key figure as cummulative ..

Non Cumulative Key Figures Simple

Please Help me with this.
I have the measurement Amount "0meas_value" non cumulative key figure and
aggregation properties Sum and Last value and other key figure is 0meas_chg
cUMULATIVE KEY FIGURE. aggregation properties Sum and summation. Now my question if I map the field from R3 Datasource (MEASVALUE) to CUMULATIVE key figure 0meas_chg, will it me a mess??? , Since when i try to put "0meas_value" non cumulative key figure in infosource it gives the error that you cannot put the non cumulative keyfigure in infosource. Please tell how can i then map to non cumulative key figure.?? and if I do not map what will be the problem??

This kind of issue is difficult to analyze.
Basic approach would be:
1. make sure your BIA revision is the latest.
2. check Tcd: RSDDBIAMON2 and make sure there is no red light
3. rebuild the BIA Index and try again.
