Date entry error in BI Integrated planning 2004s

Hello,
I am trying to fill a date field in BI Integrated Planning via mannual planning. The ratio was created as Dec type. When I introduce for example the value 01.01.2006 or 01/01/2006 and save the data, the new value is not saved in the infocube, so I suppose there is some kind of format issue. The same value in the former layout in BPS Web Interface was introduced as 01.01.2006.
Morever, if I introduce the value as 20060101 or 01012006, BEx is close immediatly with a fatal error message.
Other ratios in the layout like %of growth are save properly in the infocube.
I have installed SapGui NW 2004s SR1 Presentation - 6.40 Compilation 5 and SAP Netweaver 2004s BI AddOn Patch Level 801 (Bw700SP08P_801-10001615.exe).

In fact, I had already checked that the value was represented in BEx as 01.01.2005, after introducing the value from former Web Interface layout. However if I change the value to 01.02.2005 and save data, the value return to 01.01.2005. I don't think it is a definition issue, since other ratios in the same layout are defined with the same restrictions and are saved OK.
Moreover If I introduced 01012005 BEx is closed with "Business Explorer critical program error occurred. The program has to close. Please refer to the trace for further information" and of course that is not a good point for our final users ......

Error logging for Integrated Planning

Can I turn on error logging for Integrated Planning. Users get errors and forget to screenshot it to me, so I have no way of finding out what their error was unless I get them to duplicate it. It would be nice to look up a log of errors by user. Do they have something like that in Integrated Planning?

Few comments :
1. UPDATE TASK means that a new background task is create and the function is performed asyncronisly ,with that the user will not wait for the update of the DB to finish ,you can read in SAP help about CALL FUNCTION IN UPDATE
2. Be aware that the table that you create will be extremely large in no time ,you will have to delete data on a regular basis
3. The same concept of the thread can be applied to function module 'RRMS_MESSAGE_HANDLING' this function module is responsible of messaging in BEX 'some times IP related messages are invoked from it.

E-Recruiting Workflow after Data Entry Error

Greetings,
The E-Recruiting Workflow after Data Entry Error enables you to change and internal or external application that was entered manually. If for example, you enter the application to the incorrect reference code, you can assign a different one. As a result the status of the original application is set to rejected with the status reason of "Replaced by new Application".
My question is why doesn't the candidacy also get set to rejected? Although the application is rejected, the candidacy is still in process and so this candidate will continue to show on the Candidate Shortlist for the requistion. There is nothing that I can tell that will stop a recruiter from continuing to recruit this candidate. I am thinking of changing the workflow to also reject the candidacy, but before I do that, I want to know if there is an error in my thought process here.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Set Field Focus After Data Entry Error

In a form created in Acrobat XI Pro (and distrubuted via Forms Central), I have various form fields (text, date, etc.). When the user performs a data entry error (e.g. incorrect date format based on date mask, etc.), the field focus is lost. The user must mouse-click into the field to set the field focus and re-enter their data. Is there any code that allows the app to return an error and set the focus back on the field returnign the error? Thanks / Todd

If you converted the PDF to a FormsCentral form then it's a FC issue, not a PDF issue...

Query for data input into IncoCube (Non Integrated Planning)

Hello Gurus,
i was trying to search over the internet how to make a query ready for input, but without using integrated planning, but no luck.
I want to make a bex query (specific form) which could be filled with data by simple user, and then on button click sent to BW InfoCube.
Is it at all possible or not?

Runtime error in BI integrated planning on EP7.0

Hi all,
              We are using the BI integrtaed planning role from portal.( Ep 7.0)   and backend system is BI7.0.
1)I added the role com.sap.ip.bi.business_planning_showcase to the user
2) I created the JCO connections
BI_MODELDATA
●     BI_METADATA
●     WD_ALV_MODELDATA_DEST
●     WD_ALV_METADATA_DEST
3)In spro of BI7.0 settings for starting planning modeler I gave the url of the portal.
Now when open the BI planning role it is throwing the error
com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Failed in WD JNDI lookup. javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: No child found in WebDynproContext with name biplanstartpage .
Any suggestions please.

To Use full functionality of BI 7.0 u need to BI-JAVA instance
BI-JAVA installation requires AS-JAVA, EP, EP Core as prerequisite.
There is 1:1 mapping between BI 7.0 and (Portal)BI-JAVA
Hence U cannot integrate 2 BI in single Portal.
But since in u r technical landscape u hav only one BI so u can integrate it with u r existing portal by Adding component BI-JAVA in it !!!!!
But Since u dont want to add BI-JAVA component in Existing portal. U r having 2 options
1. Install BI-JAVA on BI Server
2. Install seperate Portal for BI-JAVA component
both option will take u to Federated Portal

There are two fields in the ztable: one field that is the primary key and one more field.
I am entering value for the primary key field and I get the error:
The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records. records in the data base.
Please let me know what is missing.

Hi,
The error is because there is already a similar record existing in the database.
Check if sy-subrc = 0 just after the select statement, which will indicate that the record already exists.
You will have to give different name (primary key) for inserting a new record.

Data Entry Error

Aloha!
I'm doing some data translation(language translation to be exact) in one of our database. During translation I've notice some inconsistency on the data that I input, since I'm translating English to Vietnamese, some Vietnamese characters when entered are in "?" which means that the database can't read that certain character. I've tried to configure the character set to "VN8MSWIN1258" which is the char set for Vietnam but no success, still the same error/inconsistency.
Hope someone can share some enlightenment regrading this issue.

HCM P&F - Mass processes Fast Data Entry Error

Hi guys,
I have a new requirement to do a new mass process to save some IT data on several employees without Workflow related. First of all I have tried to understand how standard is working and I have checked one of mass process that system provides, in my case HR_PA_XX_MSP_ADDR_CHANGE process.
Unfortunately, when I execute start application ASR_MASS_START_PROCESS (configuration ASR_MASS_PROCESS_CONF) and select my process and more than one employee I'm getting a dump. This issue is not happening if just select one employee.
I'm going to attach some screenshots to clarify steps that I'm following.
Anyone has faced similar issues? It seems is a standard problem and I want to get some thoughts of you!

When selecting employees there is no issue there, my issue is when I save the data once I have selected more than one employee.

Distribute new entries against existing reference data, Integrated Planning

Dear Experts,
Within IP, I struggle with how to distribute new entries against existing reference data.
Example:
Reference data:
Product   /   Customer   /   amount
P1               C1                  100
P1               C2                  150
P2               C2                  120
P2               C3                  100
New data:(data entered on product level, therefore not assigd to customer yet)
P3          #                    150
How can I distribute product P3 to Customers with reference to the data on product P1 ?

This documentation indeed indicates that you can use other characteristic values in the parameter group to be used for reference, good news !, but this is based on SAP-BPS ?
The SAP-BW IP documentationn does not include this information can you confirm this solution works for Integrated Planning using the conditions within the function distribute with reference data ?

Problems with HowTo "Creation of BI Master Data in Integrated Planning...)

one of our customers need a planning application in which he can create master data for different attributes, insert some key figures for this attributes and changes already planned key figured.
For the last two point I've already found a working solution, the first point (creating of masterdata in web template) is still a problem. Does anyone of you know this guide and was able to build a working solution?
I have different questions, maybe you could help me:
- what kind of variable is he using?

First, please take a look at the first document:

In chapter 3 you see the prerequisites (note 1101726 and notes 1384495, 1387004 and 136772). By this, you change the system behaviour, not to check if the new inserted master data is valid (it can't be valid, because the entries are new!)
And after this please implement the solution from the how to.

Even if my first post is a bit old, my customer still uses this solution, at the moment we are on 7.3 sp06, so it is working in newer releases too.

Error: Common entries are not permitted for plan queries and input queries

Hi,
I have a 2 selections in the column struct:
1. year = 2005, version = actual
2. year = 2006, version = plan, marked as data can be changed using user entry or planning function
row has posting periods from 1-12
in the workbook I have inserted this query in the workbook in analysis grid. it runs good.
now i added a button and assigned planning function to it. this planning function copies 2005, actuals to 2006, plan.
when i execute the workbook and hit this button, it gives me following error:
"Common entries are not permitted for plan queries and input queries"
please can anyone provide me assistance with this issue.

InfoProvider ZIP_PLAN2 must be described in this application by both a plan query and by a input-ready query, which is directly defined on the InfoProvider ZIP_PLAN2.

No auth error while executing BI integrated planning Query

Hi to all,
I have created integrated planning Query in Bex Query designer.
But while executing BI integrated planning query in portal, its giving errror.
1.     No authorization for query "IP"
2.     You are not authorized to edit this aggregation level CUBE_IP
3.     Cannot load query u201CIPu201D (data provider u201CDP_1u201D: No authorization for requested service)
Can any one tell me the solution for that.

Hi.
For to check the authorization errors, you have to use the transaction ST01 (System Trace) The Steps are:
ST01 --> Trace ON --> In Trace Components, active "Authorization Check" --> Execute the query with the user --> Trace Off > Analysis> In User Name, put the user that execute the query --> F8
You can see the authorization errors in Dark Green.

This seems like a syntax error in your formula. It must be specifying a line number where it is finding the error. Please check that or maybe the previous line, for any data processing statement where you missed a <b>}</b>. Could be that you missed in a statement, one or more characteristics. If you cant find it, please paste your whole code here along with complete error message.

BI Integrated Planning - Error config logon tickets

Hi,
I am trying to use the Integrated Planning module in 2004s, when I select the start modeler, I get an error relating to the configuration of SAP logon tickets.
Both the required profile parameters are set to the correct value:
login/create_sso2_ticket = 2
login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1
Does Integrated Planning have to use sso?
