Date Format in MSS iviews

Hi,
We have EP6 SP11 with the Manager Self Service Business Package. The dates on our MSS iviews are currently showing as MM/DD/YYYY. I have set the default country of the portal to GB but the language setting in the user profile is overriding this. If I set the language to "English (United Kingdom)" the date shows correctly as DD/MM/YYYY. But if I just set it to "English", the dates show as MM/DD/YYYY.
However, we are using an R/3 system as our user store, so the language setting is coming from there (SU01 > Communication section) and there is no option for "English (United Kingdom)", only "English". How can I change the "English" option to default to en_gb rather than en_us? Or can I map the English setting in R/3 to English (United Kingdom) setting in the portal? Or is there something else I can do?

Hi Jane,
Try to change the language settings of the Internet Explorer and see if it is not being over-ridden from the user profile.

    Hi,
    Is there anyway of changing the format of the date in a pre-delivered iView?  Is there a setting on the portal?
    We have a standard of having our date in the format yyyy/mm/dd.  Some of the iViews have the format of mm/dd/yyyy.  I want to change that...  Is this possible?  Oh yeah, this is for EP 5.0 5.0

    1)We want to show some details in an iView pertaining to the person who has logged into the portal. We are calling a function module (when a user clicks on a workset in the portal) and passing some parameters to it. The function module pulls the data from the tables and generates a sap script which displays the data in a SAP Script Form.
    Now our problem is how do we display the form in the iView?

    displaying a PDF in an iView I receive the following errormessage:
    Access denied:.....
    security zone:.....
    The portalapp.xml is like
    <property name="SecurityZone" value="epp/NO_SAFETY"/>
                    <property name="ResourceBundleName" value="epp_lang"/>
                    <property name="AuthRequirement" value="none"/>

    Hi All,
    I copied the "General Data" iview from MSS biusiness package. I am on EP7.
    When i view this page, i see "Contract Data", "Communications Data", "Organisational Assignment" and "Personnel Structure".
    I want to remove "Communications Data" from the above iview.
    How to achieve this ?

            Can you help me regarding MSS iview customization (based on par and not webDynpro).There is one iview General data in which we have to add one new field.For that a new function Module is created in the Backend R/3 by ABAP persons.The New Function module wraps the old function Module + the new Field.Do you know How this filed can be shown in our iview.

    Hi ,
    I am using some standard java webdynpro from ess/mss package the date format is in US format i.e mm/dd/yyyy in the iviews.
    How to change this to dd/mm/yyyy.My browser I.E is already set to ENGLISH UK.
    Can anyone suggest me how to change the date format to UK
    except the standard ess/mss java webdynpro's Remaining applications in portal date format is in UK format.

    go to your portal and go to jco maintanance there check the language that you have used to connect please.
    Can you please reconfirm if your browser langauge is English UK
    tools->internet options ->languages ->English (United Kingdom)(en-gb)

    Hi all.  We're getting a Portal Runtime error in our production environment when trying to view certain MSS iviews, such as Absence Days, Personal Data, Detail View Attendances, Company Properties, Emergency Contact, etc.

    All MSS iViews, working and not working, are inheriting from the same top level folder.  In their permissions is the Everyone group (Administrator=none, End User=checked) and the super_adminstrator_role (Administrator=owner, End User=checked).

    You need to check the permissions of that MSS Iview
    Go to the path  System Administration>Permisssions,
    Go to  "pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/srvconfig"
    Check whether you have valid permission or not.

    One thing i can say is the Null Pointer Exceptin when ther is no value in the field which has been submiited .The code shd be written in the try and catch block so that u can know hwat is the error all about .
    just check in the Ui which u have made is the user having data reated to that .

       When I am trying to view any of the MSS iViews like photo, orgchart, personal data, I get the following error message.

    The JCo connections SAP_R3_HumanResources and SAP_R3_HumanResources_Metadata are tested successfully and I see the gree light for these 2 in the WebDynpro console.

    Vivek,
    open the services file of your portal server box. This file will be in the location C:\WINDOWS or WINNT\system32\drivers\etc folder. In that enter an entry as below:
    sapmsED0   36XX/tcp
    where XX is the system no of your R/3 system. So if R/3 system number is 30 the line would be sapmsED0  3630/tcp.
    Save the file and then try accessing iView again. This error message would be going off.

  • Date format is changing in presentation variable

    I have a problem with date stored in presentation variable.
    I have simple prompt with calendar field (default date value is setted from repository or session variable to current date). Selected date is stored in PP_DATE presentation variable.
    I have simple report with title to show the content of variable PP_DATE.
    And now the problem.
    When I navigate to dashboard page with this report I will get date from PP_DATE variable in some format (there is difference when I use repository or session variable). After I will push the start button I will get another date format from PP_DATE variable.

    There is difference between session and repository variable. When I use repository variable I will get 'TIMESTAMP .......' from PP_DATE variable, which is the default initializer in repository variable manager. I tried to delete default initializer, but I is automatically added after saving changes.
    When is the default value of prompt setted from session variable I will get another format of date from PP_DATE variable which refers to DATE_TIME_DISPLAY_FORMAT = "yyyy-mm-dd hh:mi:ss.mss" (from NQSConfig.ini). I have changed DATE_TIME_DISPLAY_FORMAT from standard value "yyyy/mm/dd hh:mi:ss" to "yyyy-mm-dd hh:mi:ss.mss" because I am reading some data from excel, where are dates stored in MSSQL format. But this is not the reason of my problem. I have the same problem also with standard DATE_TIME_DISPLAY_FORMAT.
    The result of this strange behaviour is that I am getting errors when I am doing some calculations (for example TimeStampDiff) with PP_DATE variable. I am getting error when I am navigating to dashboard page. Everything is ok after I will push the start button.
    Do you have some tips?

    We are implementing ESS/MSS, my query is under ESS applications, date format is showing mm/dd/yyyy, then iam trying to change  user language is English (United Kingdom), from portal end, then its showing dd/mm/yyyy.
    My query is that is there any other way to change date format and how to set user language is English( united Kingdom) for mass users.

  • Changing Date format from MM/DD/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY

    Hello all,
              We have upgraded our portal system from EP 6.0 to EP 7.0 . Before upgrade the portal date format was in DD/MM/YYYY  format but after upgrade it has changed to MM/DD/YYYY.
              We changed the request.mandatoryCountry and Request.mandatoryLanguage parameters as GB and EN respectively .
    After this change the standard portal iview start showing date in DD/MM/YYYY format but custom web dynpro applications are still displaying date in MM/DD/YYYY format.
            Please suggest how can we change the date format for custom dynpro applications too.

  • Custom ESS/MSS iview question

    Hi all,
      The requirement is to create a custom ESS/MSS iview under one of the worksets in portal. For example I am creating a custom Beneifts iview under the Benefits workset.
    I have to get the user  personnel number to get the corresponding data in the WD application that i am creating. Where do i get this value from?
    My assumption: It is stored as a global variable in a different WD component and i have to reuse the component in my new application to get the corresponding variable
    I have tried my best to make the question clear. let me know if this needs to be more clear.

    There might be some portal events raised when a employee is selected. You should subscribe this event in your custom component and work on.
    I do not know if the following information useful for you.
