Date in Reports 10g
Hi, after migrating from 6i to 10g, my date field is printing as '*********'. It is the current date and should be populated automatically on the page header. . I don't konw how to increase the lenght of the field. because there is no paper view. any help will be greatly appreciated....
Open u r report layout , click "EDIT MARGIN " one option available in the report
( means after trailer section options is available .) after that check which date field is showing ****** ,
then select that field and increase the width ,
after compile and run the report .

Problem with cgicmd.dat in reports 10g
Dear Sir/Mam,
I've configured report serve on solaris 10. When executing reports using web url with key map given in cgicmd.dat file, I'm getting a very strange problem. Whatever parameters m passing to the reports through web url an additional "=" character is appended automatically. I'm giving details of the files below. Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

Our requirement is, if we select dates then the report should be generated based on given dates. If we didnt select the dates, the report should come for all the dates.

Image_Item not working in Reports 10g
we can't use ImageItems in our report.
we had a table with some images in a column with Datatype Longraw. Because we can't use that with Forms/reports 10g, we cahnged the Table-Column to Blob and migrated the Data with Import/Export. Within Forms we don't have any problem, we can display the old migrated pictures, we can import new images with Webutils Client_Image.Read_Image_Item and we can display those new images as well.
But now we have a problem with Reports. Our Report has an item (the new Blob_Column) in the query and that item is displayed within the report. If the Report is run for a record with a migrated Image, it works fine, but with a new Record and a new imported Image_Item, the Report fails (on the Server) with the following information in EM :
Mit Fehler beendet: REP-69: Interner Fehler REP-62203: Interner Fehler beim Lesen des Bildes - Unable to render RenderedOp for this operation..
it is a very small Report but with 2 images (both are small).
Any ideas out there ?

MarkFound the solution by myself.
The Problem isn't within Reports it is within Forms. The Image_Item has to set to FileType "BMP" instead of "JFIF".
That solved the problem. -

i want to generate 4 PDF report from one oracle report in reports 10G.
from the same query i want to generate 4 PDF with different order and result set based upon the query parameter at a single time.
exp: query fetch Some eng/spanish provider and client data. requirement is i want to spilt into 4 PDF:

i used RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built in 4 times with some different parameter list at a single time.
some time it generates but some time it generate 2 or 3 out of 4.

XML Publisher is not integrating with Reports 10g Concurrent program

I created report in reports 10g. Saved report in the custom_top/reports/US. Created a concurrent program for the report with output as XML. Created a Data Definition with the same short name as the concurrent program and created a template used the same short name as the Data Definition, associated template with the data definition. Uploaded the .rtf file to the template.
The issue i have is when i run the concurrent program the output is xml tags rather than the xml publisher report.

I am using an Boilerplate in the Reports 10g. In the Property Inspection I am passing
Source File Format : Image
Source FileName : &P_IMG_LOCATION
Where &P_IMG_LOCATION is the dynamic location which is fetched from the database
For Eg . &P_IMG_LOCATION will be \\oracle\logo.bmp
But It is giving accepting &P_IMG_LOCATION in the Source FileName.
Please tell me how can i pass the location???
Best Regards,Yeah, you can't do that. Instead, in your data model, create a formula column that is populated from &p_img_location. Then, set the "Read from File" property to "Yes" and the "File Format" to "Image". In your layout, create a new field and use the new formula column as the source.

I am also working in the same envronment.
my destination type is PDF and its a bitmap report.
so my senario is something like this.
I need to print the signature of the agent based on the agent id on all pages of the report.
and each page it has to check the agent id and print the same .. we can issue the report to generate the o/p for multiple orders/so multiple agents. . . so
1st page -> jack -> so his singature . ..
2nd page -> Jack . . same order continues -> same signatuer repeats.
3rd page -> scott -> so another signature . .
issues:
we have to print this in the footer of the page . . so we used the edit margin section for the same.
we are actually picking up the agent id for that page using a summary column and function set to last and reset at page level.
( both the summary column and the formula colum are not in any group in the data model)
we created a formula column for picking the image file properties below
type: character
read from file: yes
file_type: image
it actually works but the problem is the image starts from the second page onwards. and for 3 pages it prints . . .
1st page -> blank - Jack's signature is req.
2nd page - > jack's signature appears . .
3rd page -> jack's signature -> should be scott's signature
in case the fourth page for scott or any other person is ther e
scott's signature appears . . .

Data mismatch between 10g and 11g.

We recently upgraded OBIEE to 11.1.1.6.0 from 10.1.3.4.0. While testing we found data mismatch between 10g and 11g in-case of few reports which are including a front end calculated column with division included in it, say for example ("- Paycheck"."Earnings" / COUNT(DISTINCT "- Pay"."Check Date")) / 25.
The data is matching for the below scenarios.
1) When the column is removed from both 10g and 11g.
2) When the aggregation rule is set to either "Sum or Count" in both 10g and 11g.
It would be very helpful and greatly appreciated if any workaround/pointers to solve this issue is provided.

Issue in Due date analysis report S_ALR_87012168
Hi Friends,
We have a strange issue regarding due date analysis report (S_ALR_87012168)...
When i execute this report it displays different amounts in "Not Due" column under 0-30 bucket. In 0-30 bucket, under not due column it shows 10,000 and under total open items column it shows 15,000. How it is possible?

can you try to change the Settings of your Internet Explorer:
Tools --> Internet Options --> General/Appearance/Languages
Add "English (United States) [en-US]" and move it to first place above the "German (Germany) [de]" entry?

Not all Exchange contacts are showing up in Address Book

Hi All, I have got an issue with item based approval of SC. Approval loop is getting repeated multiple times when some changes are made to SC( e.g. cost center change, G/L a/c change etc. ). I guess it is repeating approval process only when changed
