Date in service - AP to FA Mass addition
Hi
In R12, when we ran the AP to FA Mass addition and querying mass addition in FA, system is showing new assets with date in service as the date on which Mass addition was run. Is that the intended functionality..?
Can we change the date in service as invoice date by default through mass addition program..?
regards
Ahsan

Loading categories to the mass additions interface
Hi,
We are doing an R12 FA implementation.
If I explain it more detail.
We have 11i , but we r going to scrap 11i and implement R12 fresh.
However the data will be extracted from 11i as it is.
As u all know we need to use either mass additions interface or the additions API. In this case we r going to use mass additions interface. For the conversion we r going to use ODI to map the data.
The isssue we are facing is, since the ODI is going to be used it will map data from 11i base tables to the mass_additions_interface table in R12. The mapping of the categories becomes a major issue in this scenario. Since we cannot load the category combinations to the interface, instead only an ID can be populated. As I told you we r populating the 11i values it will be wrong the populate it with 11i values, because in R12 we will have a new set of category IDs.
Can anyone help me to load the categories ( That exist in R12) to the mass additions interface using ODI? or is there a way using the API?
Thanks and Regards,
MPHHi,
I believe you need to define another table which maps the Old Category ID with New one. Use ODI to map the Data and this Temp table to Mass additions.

Mass Additions Interface - cannot open prepare mass additions
Hi ,
We have loaded assets details to Mass Additions Interface using ODI, but we cannot open the prepare mass additions window in the applcations.
When I checked it has all the details when compaired with an asset loaded to the interface with WebADi EXCEPT the MASS_ADDITION_ID,( CAN IT BE THE ISSUE)
what could have been the reason for this type of thing?
Thanks and Regards,

Data Transformation Services Execution Utility stopped working and was closed
Hi,
I had the SSIS packages (ETL job) working fine for a long time and then we moved the server/machine and ETL job keeps failing.
The ETL job run number of packages. The ETL job fails for the first run then I set the retires and it works in 2nd or 3rd try on the ETL job but it fails daily for the first run where DTexec.exe crash (log pasted below)
Server: Windows 2008 R2
SQL Server: SQL Server 2008 R2
RAM 64 GB
CPU cores 8
we had the similar specs on previous machine and ETL job worked fine. Only difference is we have 2 SQL server instances now on same machine.
I am suspecting it's an issue with ETL packages but why it was working fine before for a long time and after machine move it keeps failing.
Any thoughts?

Unable to connect to the Data Access service for this management server
Hate to raise a sleeping horse but was hoping someone might have some insight into why SCOM Report Server install is failing. I am using a domain account for SCOM 2012 R2 services in a distributive environment
with 2 management servers and 2 SQL servers…one for Ops db and one for DW db.
Install was failing on selecting the management server. Research led me to
Kevin Holman's site. I followed his doc and SPN are set per your config and can telnet to MGMT1 on 5723…firewall is off on all servers. I am a domain admin and scom.mgmt account (MSOMSdkSvc) is a local admin on the MGMT servers.

When I point to the MGMT server, I keep getting “Unable to connect to the Data Access service for this management server. Ensure the Data Access service is running and that the service, the management group, and setup are

BobWell, I’m back to trying to get SCOM Report Server up and running. This time I decided to try the command line silent install and rely on logs to debug. But it still fails.
This is the script: SETUP /install /InstallPath:D:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager /components:OMReporting /ManagementServer:<server>.<domain> /SRSInstance:<instance> /DataReaderUser:<domain>\<account>
/DataReaderPassword:******** /SendODRReports:0 /UseMicrosoftUpdate:0 /AcceptEndUserLicenseAgreement:1
When I run the script, I get a pop-up: “System CenterOperations Manager Setup has stopped working with the following:

Life in months is not populating from interface in Mass Additions Post
Hi,
We have one critical issue in FA conversion. We have popultaed the life_in_months in fa_mass_additions table. When we run the Mass Additions Post,it is defaulting the life_in_months from category and not from fa_mass_additions interface table. As per intended functionality,it should populate from interface table.
If any of you encounter the issue,Please let me know the soultinon.

DATA showing on front end,but it is not populating into base table AP_INVOICE_DISTRIBUTIONS_ALL.

Are you saying you can see the distributions from front end but not in the table?
Did you populate the distribution related columns in AP_INVOICE_LINES_INTERFACE (e.g. DIST_CODE_COMBINATION_ID)?

Error 140 when starting Data Flow service
I installed Oracle BAM on Windows XP few days ago and it was working fine. Today I tried to start it but I get this error. It says: "Contact the service vendor and refer to service specific error code 140"
BAM install guide says to check system event logs... I clear all logfiles in Event viewer and I checked and confirmed that the option " Overwrite event logfiles as needed" is selected.
BAM Install guide says I need to start the TNS listener and Oracle Database service first. Looking in the Windows services, I don't have these 2 (and I have never had these). I do have Oracle Lite Multiuser, OracleMTR recovery service and Oracleoracle2client cache (not sure if this is for BAM though)...
Additional info that may help:
System Event has this:
The Oracle BAM Data Flow Service service terminated with service-specific error 140 (0x8C).
Application event viewer has this:
Invalid DataMart Service License. Please call Sagent Technical Support. Invalid DataMart Server License: E04
I am not clear what is this datamart service and why I am getting this error.
ThanksNot sure what error you are hitting. Make sure you can reach your database from DOS prompt using tnsping or sqlplus commands. And your database version matches the supported db, BAM does not support OracleLite. Not sure what your earlier working condition was, (Did you use a remote DB)

Hi,
We have the below requirement in 11i:
When there is a mass addition, there should be an option to assign accounting code combinations at a category or setup level so that it defaults to all items on a divisional accounting basis. This is to enable divisional accounting for Balance Sheet and Depreciation (Profit & Loss).
Is this possible using standard functionality?
thanks.
S.SriramHi
I am using Solution beacon vision instance and have tried entering an asset using mass additions and below are my observations:
I entered the Asset book, Transaction date, asset category, number of units and than clicked on the Assignments button and entered the Expense Account and Location.
For the expense acount the system is automatically defaulting the following:
Company Segment Value - 01 as company value (since the default value has been set at the Key Flexfields segments window)
Account Segment Value - Depreciation expense account (This value is being defaulted from the Asset category window based on the Category setup)
Sub-Account - Defaulted as 0000 (since the default value has been set at the Key Flexfields segments window)
Product - Defaulted as 0000 (since the default value has been set at the Key Flexfields segments window)
The system is prompting me to enter the value for the department segment as it is not automatically defaulted. (No Default value has been set at the Key flexfields segments window)
I didnt find a place where in i can see the asset clearing account or cip clearing account was being asked or used while creating mass additions.
When the asset is being brought from other module such as Payables, than the Asset clearing account or CIP Clearing account would have been entered at the Invoice distributions level and that is being brought into the Mass additions window and is displayed in the source tab screen.
But apart from the above i have not been able to find a tab/field wherein system asks or prompt me to enter the other accounts as mentioned by you.
Based on the above, do you find any difference of what you might be seeing or the accounts being defaulted.
Thanks and Regards

SCOM 2012 Data Access Service could not start
Hello,
I have 3 SCOM 2012 servers. I got the error that the All Managament Server Pool is not available. Google search give me a lot of posts to add folder PoolManager at HKLM\System\CurrontControlSet\services\HealthService\Parameters with the DWORD keys PoolLeaseRequestPeriodSeconds
600 and PoolNetworkLatencySeconds 120. After restarting last SCOM server the Data Access Service could not run "Windows could not start the System Center Data Access Service. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a
timely fashion"
At Operations Manager Eventlog I see an error: "OpsMgr Management Configuration Service failed to communicate with System Center Data Access Service due the following exception: System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Unable to get ISdkService interface.
Please make sure local Sdk Service is running."
At System Eventlog I see an error: "A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the System Center Data Access Service service to connect."
Why did it run on the both other servers and failes on the third one? What can I check?
Regards, DoreenHi,
According to my understanding, after editing the registry key value, two of three management servers work fine now, and the issue only occur to the third one. Whether all those servers are running with Windows server 2012?
I would like to suggest you re-check the service account for the data access service, maybe we can re-enter the account credential. Those three servers may use the same account for the service, make sure the account is not disabled and you enter in the right
password for it.
Here is a similar thread, please go through it for more details:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f2281934-513d-4b60-bb4b-34ae8a892ace/failed-to-open-the-console-and-system-center-data-access-service-wont-start-scom-2012?forum=operationsmanagergeneral
In addition, please also restart the third server and check the result, and I know that there is a similar error message in SCOM 2007:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/csstwplatform/archive/2012/01/02/scom-2007-r2-unable-to-open-the-scom-console-after-server-reboot-the-sdk-service-is-stopped.aspx

All,
Has anyone come across a need to modify the mass additions upload via web adi, to do validation on asset numbers. We find that if we use web adi to mass additions, the error of duplicate asset numbers is only picked up when we do a post. Our users require that validation, when they do the upload from web adi. As this was a functionality that desktop adi provided.
Any help here would be much appreciated.Hi
Can you think about one work around
1. Import Asset table containing Asset Number before uploading the asset using Web ADI.
2. Compare the Imported data with Web ADI Template using EXCEL macro check or using a sql script
Have you loged SR & wether Oracle can think of some Validation (as this is the standard functionality) ?

No organization data for service products
Hi,
I create a CRM service order with a service product. Now there is a message, that the product in sales organization and distribution channel is not scheduled.
Our service products in general don't have organization data, cause they occur from r/3 service master data (transaction ac03).
How to assign org.data to service products in CRM? I cannot assign the set type for org.data to the category of service products cause we download the products with the middleware from R/3.
Regards
JochenHi
Sercie products will be created in CRM in service product type, while creating a service product you have to assign the Organizational data in sales and distribution tab
Thanks
Satheesh
