Date popup problem in APEX 3.1

Hi
I have a date picker (DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI) and after upgrading to APEX 3.1 from APEX 3.0.1 the popup window height is too small.
The end user is having to resize the window to click on the OK button.
Is there a file I can edit to increase the height, couldnt find it in templates/themes.
Regards
Adam

Hi Adam,
This is a bug in APEX 3.1. It was discussed here:
Apex 3.1 Upgrade Issue - dba_lock and date picker display
and here:
Date Picker problem in Apex 3.1
I'll let Carl investigate and provide an official response and recommendation. Although I know where this problem is occurring.
The size of the popup calendar window is hard-wired in the file apex/images/javascript/apex_3_1.js. In APEX 3.0, the size of the popup window was determined programatically at runtime and was a function of the date format, if it included a time component or not.
The uncompressed, readable version of this same file is in apex/images/javascript/uncompressed/apex_3_1.js. Look for p_DatePicker and you'll see what I'm talking about. You'll see the height is hard-wired to 210 and width to 258. In APEX 3.0, the height was set to 255 if the date format contained a time component.
So my suggestion, until Carl provides an official response, is to look for '210' in apex/images/javascript/apex_3_1.js and change this to 255. Granted, all calendar popup windows will be this big, but it won't put as great a burden on the end-user.
I hope this helps.

  • DATE POPUP PROBLEM

    Hello Team,
    I have a report that is based on a sql like this:
    select
    Name,
    htmldb_item.hidden(1,ACID)ACID,
    htmldb_item.hidden(2,IN_ID)INID,
    decode( (SELECT wfm.data_type
    FROM wfm_tab1 wfm
    'STRING',HTMLDB_ITEM.text(3, value,10),
    'DATE',HTMLDB_ITEM.DATE_POPUP (3,rownum,value,'dd-mon-yyyy'),
    'BOOLEAN',HTMLDB_ITEM.SELECT_LIST(3,value,'Yes;Y,No;N')
    ) value,
    htmldb_item.md5_checksum(ACID,INID,VALUE) cks
    from "#OWNER#"."WFM_AC"
    order by 1
    Problem is, the resulted report has three date fields and only one of the date popup correctly populates the corresponding field whereas the other two populates other fields on the form. I think it has to do with the generated java script but I don't know how could it be corrected?
    Please give us some insight. Thank you much

    The first argument in a htmdb_item function call is p_idx. p_idx is used to set the item name to fxx with xx being the item number based on the p_idx value. If you assign the same value to multiple items, then Java Script won't know where to return the value to and your after submit process won't work properly either. Based on your query it looks like you're assigning p_idx=3 to your text field, date popup and select list.

  • Date Picker problem in Apex 3.1

    Hi,
    I upgraded my apex to 3.1 and found that the date picker icon behaviour become quite strange.
    If I set the label of the date picker Horizontal/Vertical Alignment to Above, the picker icon will show below the text box instead of right side. And the pop-up calendar for Date Picker (DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI) also not high enought to show the Close and OK button, I have to manually adjust the pop-up calendar height.
    All this problems were not there in 3.01, is these some kind of bug?
    Thanks
    Vincent

    Hello,
    Can you put an example of your particular layout on apex.oracle.com. The solution I had worked in most of the case's I tested , obviously yours is different.
    The next best solution would be to either shim the items with images, or to specifically set the widths of the containing table cells.
    The reason all this is happening is sometimes , depending on the region templates and CSS the regions will collapse down on the content, and the the browsers will do there best to fit the content in the smallest place possible, Unfortunately, in some cases the browsers ignore both nowrap="nowrap" and/or style="white-space:nowrap", why would I want to put nowrap on something and still have it wrap, I don't know it's not me it's the browsers.
    The solution in the patch I'm leaning towards is wrap item into a table. As it will work perfectly everywhere , and greatly annoy people that want tableless layouts, but that won't be available till the patch.

  • Data load problem in Apex 3.2

    Hi
    Apex 3.2:
    Using Utilities>Data Load/Unload I am trying to load spreadsheet data. Despite reducing the data down to the simplest possible example I keep getting all rows rejected with
    ORA-00926: missing VALUES keyword
    I have tried tab delimited and comma delimited. I can't find any other users hitting this problem, and I have been pleasantly surprised when I lasted used this facility many months ago on 3.1.2 when it worked like a dream.
    Any thoughts?
    thanks...

    PROBLEM SOLVED
    The schema and the workspace names were in the form:
    AAAAAAAAA-AA
    I found that data imports worked OK for other workspaces which happened to have simpler naming. I created a new workspace and schema (shorter and without the hyphen) and everything works OK.
    I then tried the same with a new schema and tablespace both called TEST-AB and the load failed with the same error
    I'm guessing that this is probably a known issue? It would be nice if Apex could reject illegal schema/tablespace names!
    I am gratefull for help offered from other replies and hope this observation will help others...

  • Date Picker problem in APEX 4.1

    Hi,
    I have developed one application in ApEx 4.0 and imported it in ApEx 4.1. In ApEx 4.1, while clicking the Date picker field (on calendar icon) the application is started giving below error :

    I have gone through the below OTN link,But I do not have such scenario which has been discussed over there.
    Apex 4.1 IR: $.datepicker._curInst' is null or not an object
    Other scenario which I have tried:
    In ApEx 4.1, Created a new application with one page having date picker, it is working fine. If I copy/import this page in my old application(which was imported from ApEx 4.0) then the date picker is showing the above error.

    Hi,
    We found the problem. The problem is due the file 'jquery.min.js' file we have uploaded in shared components --> images. Once we deleted then it is working fine.

  • Stored Procedure used as a data source for an Apex report

    Just wondering whether anyone has used a Stored Procedure as the data source for an Apex report. An option to select Stored Procedures(s) as the data source does not appear within the IDE (only displays Table, Views, Functions).
    Do you have to return the definition of the Stored Procedure via a function ... if so, how is this done ?
    Thank you.

    Welcome to the forum: please read the FAQ and forum sticky threads (if you haven't done so already), and update your profile with a real handle instead of "920338".
    When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
    <li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    <li>Theme
    <li>Template(s)
    <li>Region/item type(s)
    With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.
When asking a question about "reports" it's firstly essential to differentiate between standard and interactive reports. Standard reports can be based on tables, views, SQL queries, or PL/SQL function blocks that return the text of a SQL query. Interactive reports can only be based on a SQL query.
    "Stored Procedures" are therefore not an option (unless you are using the term loosely to describe any PL/SQL program unit located in the database, thus including functions). What would a procedure used as the source of a report actually do? Hypothetically, by what mechanisms would the procedure (a) capture/select/generate data; and (b) make this data available for use in an APEX report? Why do you want to base a report on a procedure?

  • Date popup validation in manual tabular form

    Hey all-
    I'm creating a tabular form manually (i.e., with apex_collection) per instructions at OBE (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/ppt/odtug2008_marcie_young.pdf). Working fine, except I'm having a problem with apex_item.date_popup.
    One of the fields I need to collect from the tabular form is a date. For the SQL report, the relevant item is apex_item.date_popup(9, null, c008, 'YYYY-MM-DD', 20, 10) (and c008 is the relevant column from the collection). The trouble comes in if a user types a bogus date into the date popup. I have validation code to check this, but before running that code, I have to store the user's new entries into the collection. So basically my steps are:
    1. display the tabular form w/ a SQL report containing apex_item.date_popup
    2. use an update collection PL/SQL process to store the user data into the collection (process point = On Submit and Before Computation)
    3. use a validation PL/SQL process to verify the data in the collection before processing the update
    All that works, and the validation identifies the bad date. But then the page tries to render the tabular form again (so the user can fix the bad date), but the apex_item.date_popup(9, null, c008, 'YYYY-MM-DD', 20, 10) column fails b/c of the bad date. I need a way to programmatically create a date popup and populate it with (potentially) invalid data. Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Rob

    Problem solved. Tossed the lackluster apex_item.date_popup and replaced w/ jQuery datepicker.

  • Problem with Apex: wwv_flow.accept

    Hello!
    I've developped an application which worked perfect since nearly one year. Now - suddenly - when changing data in an tabular form and pressing the submit button this page appears:
    <h1>Not found</h1>
    The requested URL /apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server
    <br>
    From time to time it seems to work again, but then - after changing some data again... it appears again. Turning Debugging on has no effect. Do someone know or give me some advice what went wrong? Thank you Johann Message was edited by: horvatj
    I aksed this topic in the APEX Forum - see thread:
    Problem with Apex: wwv_flow.accept
    Scott answered:
    Johann - Check the Apache error log for more details.
    Okay, but XE doesn't use Apache!?
    How can I access the logfiles?
    Where can I find them?
    Thank you
    Johann

    If you believe it or not, I solved without any logfile...
    The problem was some kind of corrupt data.
    After correcting this everything works fine again. I really don't know why this not found error occurs, but ;-)

  • Problem with Apex hosted SQL Workspace

    Hi,
    I am having trouble with using currval on this site in SQL workshop. I have a demo table and have defined a sequence via sql. I successfully insert a sequence_name.nextval but when I try to add a related child record with current value of the sequence I keep getting this:
    ORA-08002: sequence ORDERS_ORDER#_SEQ.CURRVAL is not yet defined in this session
    I can check on nextval from dual and I can select the currval from dual also but when I try to use the currval in an insert, I get the same error above. Also, sometimes I get the same message even when selecting currval from dual. Seems like a problem with Apex at this hosted site. Or does Apex SQL workshop have issues with currval.

    Scott, Can you explain a little more about the difference between a hidden item that is set to display never & the other type of item which I am assuming is "display as text saves state" and display never?
    When I viewed the source for both of these I could not see the items in source code.
    Also for an item that is passed into a popup I am exposing hidden item's identity is there a different way to pass values... here is my example:
    <!-- Begin of popup for DNS_NAME -->
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    <!-- window size was 800*600 -->
    <!-- window size was 400*300 -->
    function popupPage(url) {w = open(url,"winDnsName","Scrollbars=1,resizable=1,width=500,height=450"); if (w.opener == null) w.opener = self; w.focus(); }
    //-->
    </script>
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function callDnsNamePopup (IPId) {
    var IPId = document.getElementById('P103_IP_ID').value;
    var url;
    url = 'f?p=110:106:2066309280674317::::P106_IP_ID:' + IPId;
    w = open(url,"winDnsName","Scrollbars=1,resizable=1,width=800,height=600");
    if (w.opener == null)
    w.opener = self;
    w.focus();
    </script>
    <!-- END of popup for DNS Name -->
    At the same time if I set an item as hidden and display never I cannot use it with a call to a popup...

  • ORA-01403: no data found Problem when using AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH to populate

    ORA-01403: no data found Problem when using AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH to populate a form.
    1) Created a FORM on EMP using the wizards. This creates an AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH
    TABLE NAME - EMP
    Item Containing PRIMARY KEY - P2099_EMPNO
    Primary key column - EMPNO
    By default the automatic fetch has a ‘Process Error Message’ of ‘Unable to fetch row.’
    2) Created a HTML region. Within this region add
    text item P2099_FIND_EMPNO
    Button GET_EMP to submit
    Branch Modified the conditional branch created during button creation to set P2099_EMPNO with &P2099_FIND_EMPNO.
    If I then run the page, enter an existing employee number into P2099_EMPNO and press the GET_EMP button the form is populated correctly. But if I enter an employee that does not exist then I get the oracle error ORA-01403: no data found and no form displayed but a message at the top of the page ‘Action Processed’.I was expecting a blank form to be displayed with the message ‘Unable to fetch row.’
    I can work around this by making the automated fetch conditional so that it checks the row exists first. Modify the Fetch row from EMP automated fetch so that it is conditional
    EXIST (SQL query returns at least one row)
    select 'x'
    from EMP
    where EMPNO = :P2099_EMPNO
    But this means that when the employee exists I must be fetching from the DB twice, once for the condition and then again for the actual row fetch.
    Rather than the above work around is there something I can change so I don’t get the Oracle error? I’m now wondering if the automatic row fetch is only supposed to be used when linking a report to a form and that I should be writing the fetch process manually. The reason I haven’t at the moment is I’m trying to stick with the automatic wizard generation as much as I can.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks Pete

    Hi Mike,
    I've tried doing that but it doesn't seem to make any difference. If I turn debug on it shows below.
    0.05: Computation point: AFTER_HEADER
    0.05: Processing point: AFTER_HEADER
    0.05: ...Process "Fetch Row from EMP": DML_FETCH_ROW (AFTER_HEADER) F|#OWNER#:EMP:P2099_EMPNO:EMPNO
    0.05: Show ERROR page...
    0.05: Performing rollback...
    0.05: Processing point: AFTER_ERROR_HEADER
    I don't really wan't the error page, either nothing with the form not being populated or a message at the top of the page.
    Thanks Pete

    Hi
    We have 6i Forms and Report and wanna run in windows 7. But we found arabic Date disaplay problem in reports. As you know arabic writting from right. But date display like 21/10/1431 and I wanna like 1431/10//21.
    I tried from regional setting and change date format from report. but this is problem from system it self,
    not accept right alignment. Even I install left to right patch (KB979643-x86).
    Please Help
    Thanks

    Like others have said you need to run the bootcamp installer to install the drivers.
    The time issue was a constant annoyance rebooting with OSX and my old XP bootcamp setup but it's gone with Windows 7 once you set your time to UTC format in the date and time properties instead of local time which OSX uses and XP couldn't support.

    Hello,
    Data Mangement expects unique values for id property.This issue may occur when you select 'Identity' property in Data Mangement wizard which is not unique in the Table.For eg:, you have selected 'name' field as identity property. And your MySQL database table has multiple rows with identical values for 'name' column.
    Can you verify if you have similar setup?

  • AS3 Data Coercion Problem

    AS3 Data Coercion Problem
    From PHP server RemoteObject AMF3 serialization, I receive a
    photo object per below into my Flex client:
    package WPhoto {
    [Bindable]
    [RemoteClass(alias="WPhoto.PhotoObj")]
    public class PhotoObj {
    public var photo:*;
    public var photoWidth:int;
    public var photoHeight:int;
    The above 'photo' property String of a one-byte (UTF-8)
    '.jpg' photo data. Due to PHP's rather limited set of primitive
    data types this is the best I can do per returning photo data to
    the Flex client. (Extreme tries at PHP data structure chicanery
    hasn't worked for me.)
    I need photo property in a DisplayObject format such that I
    can render photo as a child of my App's DisplayObject. The AS3
    Loader class performs this task, when sourced from an AS3
    ByteArray.
    o Loader.loadBytes(bytes:ByteArray, context:LoaderContext =
    null):void
    Loads from binary data stored in a ByteArray object.
    My dilemma is "how to" convert a UTF-8 string of photo data
    into a ByteArray. I've been through the ByteArray.writeXXX() class
    methods without finding anything close to meeting my requirements.
    AS3 String readers expect UTF-16 data, so reading AS3 string
    reading is not a solution. AS3 has no Byte data type, accordingly
    reading my photo data UTF-8 string with a "for loop" into a AS3
    UTF-16 string, or whatever, is not viable. Is there a single-byte
    reader to 'whatever' writer I'm not aware of?
    If I was sourcing photos from a Java based server, my photo
    rendering dilemma would be over. The server to client packets would
    be "java.lang.Byte[]" => flash.utils.ByteArray and voilà we
    could easily and directly render photos via the Loader.loadBytes()
    method.
    I can tentatively extend one of the AS3 ByteArray class write
    methods if I thought there was a way to read UTF-8 streams. Before
    digging down into the ByteArray class on a feasibility basis, I
    thought it first best to ask around the experts per 1) can
    ByteArray be extended for my requirement, or 2) is there a better
    way to approach this, which I have not thought of?

    Hi,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
    I simply don't get it.
    I have a root class which adds two different children of
    different classes. One child dispatched an event, and the other is
    supposed to get it. Both of the are now supposed to be in the
    instance hirrarchy, or am I wrong?
    Logically, I'd figure this should work smooth and simple
    without any need for any looping or such.
    Right now, the root class can recieve the event dispatched by
    child1, but I can't make child2 recieve any event dispatched by
    either the root or child1.
    I'd appreciate if you could show me the way...
    thanks again,

  • Data Import in Oracle Apex

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to provide a screen to user where they can import data from excel to existing table and i have seen a functionality in Data Workshop in Oracle Apex, but i am unable to use that since i have additional things needs to added into that. The requirment is mentioned below,
    1) Need a screen where user can select the excel file and start importing to one temp table without any validation
    2) those temp table data should be visible in Multi row form format in screen and user should able to modify the data
    3) Need a mapping screen or functionality like where user can map the column from temp table to original table before moving the data to original table (like Data Workshop)
    4) Data should be moved to original table and respective data should be deleted from temp table ( In case if any error occurs, error record should be displayed in temp table until unless user corrected data and move to original table)
    5) Need to add different kind of validation like, update the record in original record if same id is available or insert a record, not null value etc..
    Please suggest me how do i achive this in Apex.
    Is there any way to use the existing data workshop fuctionality code and design in my new screen?

    You will probably have to code this all by yourself... There are some packages that have been written to import Excel files and CSV style files..
    Here is a blog entry on doing the Excel file upload: http://avdeo.com/2008/05/21/uploading-excel-sheet-using-oracle-application-express-apex/
    Once you call that you could have a tabular form display the data to the user..
    The other processes would need to be written by you (migrating data from temp table to live data table..

  • Date Format problem...

    Hi users,
    Forte version : 2.e.2 and ForteWebSDK
    Datacase : Oracle
    We have a problem with a simple HTML text field which acccepts
    a date. When we try to update the record with some date, the following
    exception occurs:
    24-Jun-1998 04:32:28 : XV01086 : Execute failed for SQL statement in
    project Rap
    tServices, class RaptSqlMethods, method updateActivity, methodId 104,
    line 51, e
    rror from database is:
    ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input
    string
    The Oracle manual says that the above exception occurs when there are
    some extra characters on that field, which is not the case. In fact,
    we raise our own exception for the cases like : o1-Apr-1997,
    01-apr-97 etc. The correct format is 01-apr-1998.
    Same date soemtimes is added to the database successfully. Waht I mean
    to say that the exception deos not occur consistently.
    We just conevert the String taken from the HTML field into a Forte
    DateTimeData Object and send it to database. May be, the conversion
    part is causing the problem. But, once again the problem is not
    consistent.
    Any ideas in this will be appreciated.
    Thanx in advance

    We had the same problem when our application first went live. The
    default date format for our Oracle database is 'dd-mmm-yy' without the
    time component. The default format for datatype DateTimeData is
    'dd-mmm-yyyy hh:mm:ss'. Since we did not want to change the default date
    format for the Database, we included in our service partitions an Alter
    Session statement to change the NLS_Date_format attribute in Oracle to
    conform to the Forte DateTimeData format. It worked.

    Subject: Re: Date Format problem...
    I was having the same problem a few weeks back when I would
    read/write
    dates to Oracle. I was using objects of type DateTimeData and I would
    occasionally get errors like you said you were. I found discovered my
    problem. Sometimes I would process a null date and would get an error.
    So to
    resolve this issue, I simply changes my objects of type DateTimeData to
    type
    DateTimeNullable. This enabled my Forte Application to handle regular
    dates
    as well as null dates. I have not gotten any oracle errors since then
    with
    regards to dates. Hope this helps.

    Hi users,
    Forte version : 2.e.2 and ForteWebSDK
