Date rules management

Hi gurus,
I customized a date rule "Inicio + 7 días" (start date + 7 days), and i modified the xml , when i execute the test mode (date class: SRV_CUST_BEG; factory calendar = CO, time zone: U TC- 5), the result is ok, but when i try from my operation in CRMD_ORDER (SLFN) the date add 7 days, but count weekends and festives. Pls help me

i had the same problem but i solved it using duration.
Is it mandatory to use date rule for you? I guess no, hence you can use duration to fulfill your requirement.

We are running a fairly large legacy data conversion project from IMS and DB2 to Oracle which will involve quite a variety range of conversion/mapping rules (complex data manipulation to simple mapping). These requirement and rules involve both tech and business collaboration. Are there any data conversion rule managers tool out there that provide these type of capabilities:
1. Data conversion rule repository and version control
2. collaboration features (e.g. collaboration editing, commenting, decision capture, approval...etc)
We have check someed of the tools out there, and they are either generic requirement gathering tools, which is basically a few tabs with drop downs and a big text box, or some end-to-end data conversion automation solutions, which focus the execution of the data conversion instead of managing & tracking conversion rules.
Can anyone you help? please let me know if there is anything comes close that is practical and useful. Thank you.

Tubby, thank you for the info. Yes, we actually use ODI as a DEV tool for data conversion rule implementation and execution between our staging DB and target DB. However, ODI does not really have the capability to allow our tech and business to collaborate together and focus on "getting all these rules defined correctly". Having say that, ODI does have many very useful side features for our DEV to leverage and share information such as knowledge module and data mapping...etc
We would hope to have a practical data rule management tool & repository that allows tech and business to work together and gather all the rules and build up all the knowledge base in 1 single place. DEV/QA can then take away and focus on the implementation and validation.

NW BRM, Rules Manager and transport the BRM project through the landscape.

I have a question about the working with Rules Manager and the possible difficulties of the changes management.
The scenario is simple.
We have created a BRM project in software component with decision table and initialized it with some values. Then we transported it to the QA and Prod system through the CMS. Note: in the SC not only the BRM project but also a WDJ, for example.
Then business user changes the values in the decision table in Prod system by using Rules Management functionality. Everything is OK till now.
But then we changed something in the WDJ component in the same SC and then transported it to the Pros system. After that transport the changes of the business user are lost. How can we fix it?
Of course we can download the runtime content from the prod system, but it's bit complicated. Any ideas?

SAP NW Business Rules Management web UI tool for business users (Rules Manager) has a feature "Download Rules Content" from CE 7.3 onwards.
Please find the details of the feature in the below link:

Using the above "Download Rules Content" feature of RulesManager, you should be able to import the latest version of the Rules Project, which contains the changes done by the business user, into NWDS. Once you have the modified rules project in NWDS you should be able to transport it to QA and Prod systems without the data loss.
But this feature is only available from NW CE 7.3 onwards.

Data Protection Manager 2012 R2 agent: SetDpmServer returns error 0x80004005

I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 server running business-critical applications. This is an ancient server, and I don't know who and how installed and configured its OS. I need to protect it using DPM 2012 R2.
I was unable to automatically deploy DPM agent to this server due to error, so I installed the agent manually. However, when I try to manually associate the agent with a DPM server, it returns the following error:

The link is invalid. I've found a Techne article mentioning this error code, which tells only to check access to the DPM server from the server with the agent. The agent does have access, but the error persists even if I turn off the firewall completely.
I even reset the local firewall rules to default settings, but it has had no visual effect (except I had to restore several rules manually).
I suspect that something is wrong with OS settings or services. Any ideas what can be investigated next?

Dynamically call function module in the date rule

I am currently working on service request.I am facing a problem in the date management there.In my service request i have 5 statuses .One of my status is "Pending with consumer".I am using duration settings of service request.By duration settings , i am calculating the duration for which its pending with consumer.I am having 2 response profile one is 24*7 and other is having 9 working hours.In the service request from the SLA configuration i am calculating the escalation date & Time .I need to add the pending with consumer duration with the escalation date and time.I am facing a problem , i am explaining whole problem ..
Let say if the pending with consumer duration is 1440 minutes(that is 24 hours) .I am adding the minutes to the escalation date through the date rule.
I am facing problem that if the service profile is 24*7 then there is no problem but if it is having the 9 hours working service profile then after adding the minutes to it the escalation date is changing to 4 days ahead which is wrong.
I need to add only those minutes for which it is pending with consumer in working hours for the 9 hours service profile
I need to dynamically determine the working hours from the duration then add it to escalation dates when the status is changed from pending with consumer.
Please suggest a badi will work or how to do it.
Is there any way so that while adding duration's in the date rule i can determine if the service profile is 24*7 then i will directly add the durations or else if service profile is 9 hours then i will determine the working hours from the duration" pending with consumer" then i will add.

the explanation already given is correct and good. Small add-on:
All functions called during one LUW with addition IN UPDATE TASK are stored together with their actual parameters in a temporary memory area. The moment a COMMIT WORK is issued, the functions are released to be executed by a so-called update task which is running in the background. This explains why functions called in update task never return anything, no SY-SUBRC and no export or table parameters If a function called in update task raises an exception or runs into an error the calling user will get an express message informing about this. Also, all database updates done by this update process are rolled back to keep consistency.
This proceeding helps to keep database tables consistent and allows the user to keep on doing his work before all database updates are complete. You may have seen messages like "material will be changed" after saving. If you open the same material immediately, you'll get a message "object locked by...<yourself>". This means the update task is still running.

it just calculates new dates base on reference dates or abap function modules.
In IMG in Date management node you can create your own date rules.
Best would be to copy existing one and than modify it.

Iam working on Date Management in CRM 7.0
I have a requirement where I need to calculate the generate the Billing Date present in the Billing Plan tab of the Service Contract.
I have gone through few of the Date Rules defined in the system. My requirement is to subtract the number of days from the Settlement Start Date and populate this Billing Date. It is clear from the existing date rules that we can subtract the days from Settlement Start Date. But I have a new Z field that is created using EEWB, in which user will enter the number of days. Now I need to subtract these days from Settlement Start Date. So, how can I get the reference of this new field. How can I subtract the number of days that the user will enter in this new Z field.

CRM_APPT_MAINTAIN_MULTI_OW in date rule executes rule again

Hi, I´m facing a problem changing the dates of a document with a date rule FM, inside this FM I´m using CRM_APPT_MAINTAIN_MULTI_OW for changing the dates, but it makes the date rule FM executes again, I have some validation for the second execution of the rule in order to save the order in place changing the dates again, but I don´t think this is the best approach to solve this.
The dates changes ok, but when the user saves the document manually (Inside the FM I save the order and make a commit) the dates appears duplicate. Any help will be appreciated, thanks !

In customazing of your date profile (spro>crm>basic functions>date management>define date profile) set for the date type to which you assigned date rule the option "Determine Date Only Once" to active. Then date rule will be executed only once.

OIM API Data Object Manager Functionality

I am working on creating a script for a client that will automate attaching handlers to data objects. In the design console this action can be performed on the Development Tools > Business Rule Definition > Data Object Manager screen. Does anyone know where in the API I can perform this operation?

After more investigation I have discovered that the DVT table in the oim schema stores the information about the event handlers that have been attached to a data object. I hope this helps shed more light on the situation. If anyone has any suggestions about where I can look for the API information please let me know. I have already looked through the java docs here:

Error logging for data rules in owb11gr2

Hi all,
I was playing around with error logging for data rules and I realized that when an error gets logged into the error table for failing a particualar data rule for a table, some of the columns in the error table such as ORA_ERR_NUMBER$, ORA_ERR_MESG$, ORR_ERR_OPTYP$ were not filled in. Why is this so? Is there anyway to populate these fields as well when a row gets populated in? This is because the optype field may be useful to identify the operation type of the erronous row.
ALso, does anyone know whether the error table for dimensions work correctly? I replicate the portion of the mapping flow that goes to my dimension and even though the errornous row gets logged into the error table, the ERR$$$_OPERATOR_NAME for that row did not show the dimension object but instead show another of my table operator in the mapping. Pretty bewildered as to why this is the case.

The cube operator in 11gR2 also supports DML error logging (as well as orphan management handling). This is enabled by setting the property 'DML Error table name' (in group Error table) on the Cube operator inside the mapping. The error table specified will be created when the mapping is deployed (if you specify an existing one the error is trapped).
The DML error handling will catch physical errors on the load of the fact.

Assuming you are making use of workshop for creating the user segment and deploying to a single server which is in development mode, I would recommend you check if you have hit any OOM issues on the server or not, and try restarting the server, and redeploying your app. Generally this should resolve the issue.
If the server to which you are deploying is running in production mode / deploying as an EAR then the above referred doc will guide you on the next steps.

Migrating Rule manager from Endeca version 2.1.2 to Endeca V 11.0

Hi All,
I am trying to migrate rules in Rule manager from Endeca version 2.1.2 to Endeca v11.0.
After migration, all the rules show up correctly in Rule Manager in 11.0.
Rules on 11.0 are using cartridge type "LegacyRule" which was created by migration script.
But when I check supplemental objects in endeca_jspref, I do not see any properties from the cartridge.
Only properties which are displayed are endeca's internal properties. I have pasted one such supplemental object below.
Does anybody have idea on why MDEX in v11.0 is not returning cartridge properties?
On 3.1.2, all the cartridge properties and record IDs are coming in property called "endeca.internal.content.embedded" property. This is property is coming in v11.0.

You will need to use the Assembler. The payload of the triggered rules is no longer returned in the Supplemental Objects.
