Date Screwed up since 10.4.9

My apologies if this is addressed elsewhere.
Since 10.4.9 Update a few oddities.
1) the Command - Option - Eject key combination for putting computer to sleep no longer functions. (No longer functions on any computer which the update was installed on.
2) Dates in odd places will have an additional 2 numbers after the year. Such as this, which was placed here by the insert date command: March 29, 200713. Other formats of the insert date command either do or don’t follow suit: Thursday, March 29, 2007; 3/29/0713; March 29, 200713 8:20 AM.
First noticed this when syncing calendars in iCal and saw it in the Sync Conflict window. So far I’ve seen this phenomenon in iCal, Pages, the Finder, and Aperture.
Did standard maintenance sweep: Repair Permissions, Verify Pref. Files, Periodic Cleanup, Update Prebindings, Clear Cache Files, Update Locate Database, Update Whatis Database, Rebuild LaunchServices Database.

Can't help with 2nd point, but can with 1st. After 10.4.9 update, Eject key now requires 1.5 to 2 second press & hold rather than just tap & release. Are you saying key does not work at all?

Problems Receiving Emails and some data on WIFI since latest software update.
My blackberry torch will not receive emails on wifi since the latest software update, I've tried numerous wifi networks and several handsets, even had them replaced and received a brand new. Still the same problem.
When turning off the wifi network on the torch, the phone will stall for 5-10min while it tries to communicate with the network (vodafone) to receive outstanding emails and data.
Can someone please inform Blackberry and get a quick fix on this

Alert data is not present in SCOM 2012 Data Warehouse database since two weeks

Alert data is not present in SCOM 2012 Data Warehouse database since a week though I could see Performance data for the latest dates. Old Alert data is present but I think the latest Alert data is not being inserted to Data warehouse. No activity was done
on the day from where we are missing data.
I could see 31554 events on all my Management servers and this proves that Data Insertion is happening. I am not sure why only Alert data is missing (or not getting inserted) in DW database. I am trying to use SQL queries to fetch the data as I dont have reporting
currently. The same query is working for other dates, so there is no issue with this query.
I have noticed that I could see the Alert Data present in SCOM OperationsmNager Db but NOT present in OperationsManagerDW database.
In SCOM 2007, data will be inserted in both Ops DB and DW simultaneously. I believe the same methodology in 2012 too.
Please help me to fetch Alert data from DW. Any suggestion pls?

Generally, data warehouse store a long-term data, and by default, it would keep 400 days data, I suggest check your configuration:

Date and Time since 1900 Jan 1st

I have a cell with the number of days since Jan 1, 1900. How would I display or convert this to a date and time.
3599.4495424 to any date and time format.

Data reception problem since upgrade

I have a Z1 which I just got back from the service centre (change motherboard) and the centre flashed the latest 136 firmware.
However since then I realised I would have problems with my data reception as the phone is not able to load websites or Facebook. Usually a restart would solve the problem but this is very annoying as I would need to do it at least once a day.
Any solutions?

Re-install the latest update with SUS or PCC, if that doesn't work then take it to a Sony repair center

Date format changed (since SP8?)

Applied SP8 lately on a server. I guess since then the date format changed.
It is now April 18, 2011,
and it should be 18 April, 2011.
I am not sure if this is because applying SP8, but what is for sure that the date format is not what we used to.
Checked time zone. Regarding to `set time zone` it is proper (CET-1CEST).
Please advise.

The following TID tells you how you can replace this file.
Note that the TID refers to changing the code page. In your case, it is not the code page you want to change, but the country code which corresponds to the date format you want to display

How to turn off data on iPhone since recent iTunes carrier setting update?

In the past few days my iphone has been using 3G for data and I have no control over it. At home it is connected to my wifi internet which has always been the case and which is fine but when I leave home it turns on data via 3G and there is no way off easily turning it off short of going into aeroplane mode or turning phone off altogether. I Only became alerted when I got an sms telling me my balance was low on my prepaid (with Telstra) when I knew I should have had plenty of money left on balance. Lucky I've only had about $20 used - how am I to know the phone in my pocket has been always connected. The problem has arisen since a carrier setting update a few days ago via Itunes. I can turn off 3G but then the phone just reverts to 2G and the data keeps flowing !
There is no where to alter the cellular data network or APN settings since I installed a 3G sim .... previously with a 2G SIM you could enter cellular data network menu and enter APN username and password but these have both gone.
This is a major problem and could be very costly if someone does not realise it quickly .
Any solutions .... will speak to telco later today but they will inevitably deny an responsibility as they do !

Unfortunately this may be contrary to the terms of the agreement that I have just agreed to so as to be able to participate in this thread but I consider the inability to limit the data access, to provide the owner with the option to explicitly authorise data access requested by an application as not just "bill shock" but THEFT. We require some consumer advocacy.
I am a prepaid client who only wishes to use the data based apps when wifi is available. The workaround that worked until two days ago was amending the APN but now, on an iPhone purchased at the Apple store in Sydney and presumably an officially unlocked phone, no longer displays the APN option. Despite being very aware of the vulnerable state of the phone and the need to avoid any data based application I yesterday I still managed to incur two unwanted data charges of $18 and $9. I consider that THEFT. Even on a data plan I would be unable to satisfactorily control data usage.
When the unwanted data exhausts my current prepaid balance, as it has several times in the past, I will have to convert my iPhone into an iPod Touch and obtain another phone. I certainly will investigate whether Android permits controlling data access.
I am very disappointed as I believe the range of apps provides a compelling argument for the iPhone but the customer's inability to control data usage is unacceptable.

Solaris10/x86 date screwed up after rtc cronjob

I'm having problems with solaris10/x86 03/05 w/o patches since two days.
From sunday to monday night, at about 2am the clock jumped to 11pm of 31.12.1969. I suspect the rtc cronjob which is to be run at 2:01 am. This affected two of my three x86 sun servers. The same happened right now, (monday to tuesday night) and affected only one of the three servers. I want you to know, that we had switched to summertime from saturday to sunday night, so this happens since 1 day after switching to summer time (that worked fine on saturday night).
Setting the date doesn't work, it will always reset to 1.1.1970 automatically:
server:~#date -u 010100302005 && sleep 5 && date
Sat Jan 1 00:30:00 GMT 2005
Thu Jan 1 00:00:04 CET 1970
ntpdate doesn't work as well.
I use these steps to get it working:
1) set date to something useful (gets automatically reset to 1.1.1970)
2) reboot
3) set date again to something useful
4) try ntpdate (doesn't work at this step)
5) reboot
6) set date again to something useful
7) ntpdate (works this time)
I'm very curious about this issue, where can I find out if can contact sun support regarding this problem?

Today it happened again on one of the three servers (v40z) :(

Using 10MB data pro minute since two days, how is this possible

My iphone 4 is using pro minute 10 mb data. This is since two days.I do not know how this is possible. An i do not know how to stop this.

I really do not know. I went to a i center. They do not know how to help me. I have a few apps. Not a lot. It started wednesday at 12:09. I think that I was driving at that moment in my car.

Data respond slow since the iOS6 upgrade while using WIFI

It seems as if ever since I upgraded my phone to the iOS6 upgrade, my phone takes forever to upload the app store, or even load data on some apps such as a stock market game simulator. I am using WIFI at the time, I'm not sure why the app store is taking forever to upload apps that I either search for or just the apps on the main page. This has happened also while trying to listen to a podcast, it just seems like when it comes to using data on the phone, while on WIFI, things are either not loading or taking forever to load; I know for a fact it is not the internet connection because I'm using the WIFI at my job and I work for a telecommunications company. Please respond if you're having similar issues.

Since upgarding to iOS6 my iphone 4 takes ages to load the app store...wifi working fine i think its because of the load on the server from everybody rushing to upgrade...Apple should have thought about this bottle neck before rolling out the upgrade

Calendar no longer sends data to iphone since I got a new PC with Outlook 2010

My iphone 4 used to happily sync with my old PC (Windows XP) but I've got a new PC with Outlook 2010 and the calendar no longer sends data from the PC to the iphone.
I've used the Help questions here and created a new event on my phone which has now created a new calendar on the PC, so I have 2 calendars now, one with all events in and one only with events which are also on my phone.
No new events added to my calendar are ending up on my phone.
How do I:
a: get rid of the new calendar which has opened (it is called "Outlook Data File", the existing one, which I want to keep, is called "Personal Folders)
b: get the calendar to send info to my phone and back?

Photoshop is screwed up since 10.6.5 update!!!

So after I get a work-around for the bluetooth problem i can't seem to solve, my photoshop is totally screwy. First it's cs4 extended and my macbook pro is 3.06 with 6gb ram. I never had problems before the update and I've done everything you can think of to fix it . Reset pram, power reset, repaired permissions, purged photoshop, reinstalled photoshop, allocated all ram to photoshop, downloaded the fan utility thinking my computer was overheating and adjusted the fans to run cooler, no fix. etc, etc.
The problem is that when i'm working the screen the main window does not show changes, like when i use the select tool, i get no dancing ants? If i change the gradient I can see the thumbnail on the right change, but the main image does nothing for a very long time... I have to wait like 20 seconds for anything to show on the main screen while I'm moving my mouse around and selecting different tools to see if it's frozen. It's not frozen, but just taking forever to show me anything... I try to select text, but nothing highlights, but if I change the text, it does change, i just can't see it on the main window! Photoshop is all of a sudden taking up 120% of my processing when i have a 6mb file open and nothing else.
Please offer suggestions on what i can do. Disk utility/repair didn't find any errors. all my other program seem to be running fine, just photoshop is screwed up. I don't have any plug-ins. or anything different than before I updated. (well besides my bluetooth not working correctly) this is very frustrating.

So this has still not been resolved! it's driving me in freakin insane! In a matter of seconds while using photoshop it spikes the CPU to 100% with a 20mb file open. Then i loose all previews and actually loose all visibility of changes until i either zoom out or try clicking on a layer or something. I cannot work like this!!! It started with the 10.6.5 update and now it still does it even after the 10.6.6 update. I tried adobe, but they are absolutely no help. - I would call them something else, but this is a family forum right?
It was caused from the 10.6.5 update and even downgrading now does nothing. I've tried abaolutely everything, but it still does it.
So question is, did it fry my graphics card? All hardware tests come back with no problem, but I still do not have bluetooth thanks to the 10.6.5 update... This just stinks.
How do i check the graphics card? what else would there be to check and how do it do it.
Remember everything was reset multiple times,operating system reloaded multiple times (yes combo update) so it is not going to be fixed by anything someone else has done. I am trying to figure out what to do now...

My data plan for Iphone 5 is 2gb, at home and I search for data or other things on web, am I charged against my data plan or since its connected to computer via my network connection is there no loss of data

when at home my phone is connected to my computer network,does that mean no data charged against my monthly allotment now at 2gb

If you are connected to wifi at home or elsewhere you shouldn't be using any of your Verizon cellular data. I say shouldn't because there are a number of posts/threads on this forum where customers are reporting glitches with their iPhones and they indicate they are being charged data when on wifi.

Ringtones Screwed Up Since Update

I guess its been over a week and I still can't get my custom ringtones to work since the update. I've reset the phone twice. I have them in iTunes but for the life of me I can't get them over to the Phone.
My phone was working perfect...........I new I should have left well enough alone.

Do they play in iTunes?
If iTunes is not authorized to play the ringtones they will not transfer to the iPhone.

Data Warehouse performance since changing retention settings?

I dont know if its a coincidence but I have managed to get into a bit of a state with regard to our data warehouse.
Firstly when the server was specced I dont think anybody actually worked out what size the databases would work out to be. I have started troubleshooting initially because of a lack of disk space. The DW was set to the defaults of 400 days etc and had grown
to around 700GB. Our operations DB is around 50GB in size. The disk at this point had around 50GB of space left.
Anyway I did some work on the retention in the DW to knock a lot of stuff down to say 9 months as needed. A week later and the data is now 500GB although the physical size is still 700GB.
Now I dont know if its coincidence but in the last couple of days I am getting performance alerts such as not being able to store data in the DW in a timely manner, failing to perform maintenace and visual indications that things have slowed down on
the DW. For example an SLA report for the month for all servers now times out when before it ran in a few minutes.
So I am wondering if the "blank" space in the DW is now causing issues as there is data at both ends of the database perhaps. I would like to get this blank space back but no expert on SQL and wondering if any other considerations needs to be taken
for SCOM "to get this back".
I also understand that perhaps more disk space is required for the actual grooming so maybe I need to get down to 6 montghs of data before this can happen.
The performance part may not be tied to the issue but I guess either way I would like to get the space back if possible

There are sereval causes
1) check any events or performance collection which generate a hugh DB and DW size by using the following SQL query in

3) check SQL logs on the datawarehouse, especially for blocking problems
Also, check Disk IO on the data warehouse (the windows mp collects these metrics). If it affects all Management Servers and the message does say "timeout" then the problem is likely to be at the SQL end. It may not be maxed out by CPU or Memory but
there are likely to be other bottlenecks on the SQL box. What is the Disk Queue for disks that the operations manager data warehouse data and log files reside? These are on seperate physical disks aren't they??
My guess is that it is a SQL issue .... temporary timeouts suggest that SQL is busy doing something else. And I'd tend to concentrate my thoughts on Disk IO rather than memory or cpu.
