Date Stamping Photos

I am newbie to Lightroom but am quickly loving this program.  One of the issues that led me here is date stamping.  Our dSLR does not allow for date stamping (Nikon D40x).  What it does is retains the "capture date" in the metadata ( i beliee most cameras do).  We take approximately 1,000 photos a month and would love to have them date stamped.
Our processing is done through Kodak, who will not read the capture data from the metadata and stamp on the photo.
My next option was thir party software - in comes Lightroom 3.  Well reading through the forums I found this was possible via LR Mogrify 2.  It was installed and it works great.  The amount of time I save vs the Gena Photstamper is incredible.  The problem I am having now is that Kodak auto crops the pictures before developing which crops the date stamp (located on the bottome right hand corner).
I have selected on the Kodak site "print entire picture" which elliminates the cropping but leaves white bars on the ends of the picture.  The reason for this per the Kodak rep is due to photo size.  My next step was to go back into Lightroom and set the export size to 1200 X 1800.  The result was something close but not exactly that dimension.  Which still leaves me with either vertical or horizontal bars on the picture when processed.
If anyone has encountered anything similar or if you have any possible solutions can you please help.

May I suggest that you buy a camera that will imprint the date on your
photo and be done with it. There are many point and shoots with good quality
that will do this very thing.
Keep it simple..........

How do you time/date stamp photos in Iphoto 9, Version 8.1.2?

If the photos were taken with a digital camera they already dated and time stamped. Select a photo and click in the "i" button in the lower left hand corner of the window:
There you will see the date and time the photo was taken.

Just to expand on what Lawrence Finch posted. Tell Apple about about your need to date/time stamp photos

  • Iphoto 08   7.1.1 VS IPHOTO 6   6.0.6 dialog and date stamping photos

    Hello again,
I asked how to date stamp and describe each job photo I take on my 08 version of Iphoto since it doesn't have the "YEARBOOK" selection in the BOOK formats. well I just tried something for the he## of it and it worked real well. Don't use BOOKS at all. Put the photos in ALBLUMS, click "select all" in EDIT click "batch change" in PHOTOS, set Title to Date and TIME then when the time and date show under each picture type next to them what you want to describe. Cilck on PRINT and a drop down menue will appear, chose "Proof sheet" and hit print again and off you go. NOTE if the date and time do not appear when you choose "Date and Time go to VIEW and make sure "Titles" is checked. It works for me -Now back to all my other problems --How come MIGRATE ASSISTANT doesn't????

    Sorry Larry,
It was late and I was blind so I threw out the question -----The problem is I used the Migration Assistant when I got a new HD installed in my G4 and nothing happened other than the Fire Wire logo just kept running on my screen. I tied my G4 to my Imac with a Fire Wire--followed screen prompt on my G4 to restart my Imac while holding down the "T" key (on the IMAC). I did that and the Fire Wire logo appeared and began running in the faded mode on my IMAC screen. (Normally it should be a bright gray and yellow) I let it run but nothing ever happened and no info showed up on my G4. I tried it several times until the definition of Insanity popped into my head. I have a Rocstor back up HD for storage, tried leaving connected and disconnecting it to no avail. I assume that the Fire Wire logo running in the "ghost" mode is telling me something unfortunately I am just to clueless to know what it is. I am sure that I changed cables (reasonably) as that would be a natural, but nothing changed. I have gone the other way, G4 to IMAC using the same procedures with no problem.
    Thanks, Mel

  • Date stamp photos in Elements 5. using.EXIF data.

Help please: Is there an extention available for elements 5. that will enable me to copey the date in the EXIF data simply with a few clicks onto the bottom right of my photos, like my old 35 mm camera used to.
I still prefer to have my pictures printed and put them in a hard back album, to add imformation afterwards is very time consuming,
    Barry. UK.

    Hi there
I am in the same boat as Barry. When I try to run D2C, I get the same message (except the number given is 0xc0000135).
I get the same result from stripIPTC.
I am running Windows XP Home. Would it help to play around with "compatibility modes"?
I am surprised that a convenient method of date stamping images is not more commonly provided as there must be many situations, such as documenting the progress of a building or landscaping project. Particularly if there is some dispute, photographs with reliable dates and times recorded can be very valuable.

  • How do I time / date stamp photos from library

How can I print photos from library with a time / date stamp to use for legal purposes? Please help

All photos captured with the iPhone are date and time stamped, but not shown on the photo. Plus those metadata can be changed easily with modern photo editing software so it is not always admissible in court.
To post those to the pictures, you need a 3rd party app for that. Try the free Exifwizard app.

  • Is there any way to add a date stamp to a photo

I have about 50 photo's that for some reason my camera did not put a date stamp on it. Is there a program that I can add a date stamp to the photo?

You'll need an external editor to disfigure the photos that way
In order of price here are some suggestions:
    Seashore (free)
    The Gimp (free)
    Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
    Acorn ($50 approx)
    Pixelmator ($50 approx)
    Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • How do I add a date stamp to photos

How do I add a date stamp to photos

Make the Type tool active and enter the text.
If you have several photos that you want to add the date to, in full editor, go to File>Process multiple files.
In the dialog under "Labels", select "Watermark" from the drop-down, enter text/date in text box, then set up the other fields.
It's best to have the picture files in a source folder & have an empty destination folder to point to in the batch process. This will preclude overwriting the originals. Look at the top "Process Files From".

  • Add 90s date stamp from "date created" to photos

    Hi
I'm about to order a photobook (christmas gift for some relatives). The book have nearly 300 pictures in it,
The pictures need to have dates. I could add a date manually for each picture but I havent really got time for it.
All photos have proper exif data, with date created info. Does anyone know how i can just destructivly stamp
this on to the photo itself? Bit of a odd problem, I don't think bridge/ps can do this with its default
functionality - but I know I have seen this feature somewhere sometime in some software product!
And yes I know date stamps look terrible, but most of the family photos arent exactly fine art to begin with :>
Any tips appreciated, it would be a huge time saver for me!

It can be done with a Photoshop Script that adda a text layer usinf the date in the EXIF. An example is my stampexif script. It adds a text layer which can be used within an action then the added text layer can be positioned and styled by the action. The script would be easy to change and format the text content to your likeing.

  • Removing date stamps from photos

    Hi,
Can anyone please advise if there is a quick and easy way to remove the date stamp from photos.  My brother has a heap of great landscape shots he's taken over the years, however he has always had the date stamp set on his old camera - he knows better now and won't use it in the future. How do can he improve the quality of the photos he already has by removing the date?
    Cheers

    Use the magic extractor tool.

But you need to do the same for each of your single image.
No way to do for all in one go except for resizing the images in one go via File->Process Multiple Files to that much size which can remove date stamps.

Some of my old photos were imported into iphoto with a date stamp from the camera/ Is there any way to remove this before I print them?? I have iphoto v 7.1.5 THANKS!

1 - it is good to go through the iPhoto Tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/#retouch
2 - after you take the tutorials just play with it - Command-z will go back one edit - photos menu ==> revert to original will remove all edits and "revert to the original"

  • Print photos with date stamp on them with a HP 6600

Does anyone know if the HP6600 printer is capable of printing photos with the date stamp on them?

    Hello @Joseph_TX ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you want to know if a way to configure the HP ePrint.
    I would like to help.
Unfortunately there is no way to reconfigure the ePrint.
When you send an email to the printers ePrint address, it will print the body of the email and any attachments.
It will not print the subject line or who the email is from.
Also the ePrint feature will not resize pictures sent.
What you send is what you get.
You can get more control over ePrint with the ePrint app, but I don't believe that will suit your needs.

  • Remove Photo Date Stamp?

I'm using a Nikon CoolPix 7900 travel camera. I just returned from Europe with about 1,000 photos on SD cards for this camera. When I download the photos using PS Elements 2.0 every photo has a Date & Time stamp on it. I don't know how or why this happens since I don't think my camera has a feature for specifying this information?
Is there any way to remove this date & time stamp before printing the photos? I still have the original photos on the cards.
I'm desperate and willing to upgrade my version of PE to a higher version to be able to accomplish this task.
Thanks, in advance, for any advice you may provide.
    Sanray19

Thanks Barbara for your reply even though it wasn't what I had hoped for. I have the clone tool on my PE 2.0 and understand how to use it. It will be quite painstaking to use it for all my photos.
What is the Healing Brush Tool you speak of? Would it be more efficient for my purpose than the Clone tool?
For your information, I have taken photos with this same camera before and no date stamp has appeared. I have changed no settigns that I am aware of and now suddenly the date stamp appears? I'll double check my users manual for an explanation.
