Date/Time in iPhoto Videos is WRONG

I just noticed that all the video clips generated by the automatic thumbnail have the Date/Time wrong, also they are all mixed up.
I have hundreds of clips and all of them display a Date from December 31/1904 (or 1903)
HOW CAN THIS BE FIXED?
I know I can select Adjust Date/Time manually but is there a way of doing it automatically?
Thanks

There is an application called "A Better Finder Attributes" that can set dates on files and do them in batches.

PrE lacks the TimeCode Effect (unless it has been added in PrE 10?), that both PrPro and Adobe After Effects has. However, even that Effect does not do date/time, just Runtime TimeCode, but with some display alternatives.
There are two programs called DVDate. One is/was freeware, and the other was inexpensive shareware. I do not have the two links handy, but believe that either will do what the user wishes.
I know that in the past, one valued contributor, Neale, has posted the links, and has also given the details of what each of the programs can, and cannot do. Maybe he'll drop by this thread, and fill in the blanks that I am leaving here.

  • Showing date/time on nest video clip

I need to add the date/time stamp to a video I have nested...is there a plug-in to accomplish this?
    Thanks,

Did this ever get resolved, I am in a similar situation with Premiere CS5.5 and need a
timer that will measure 1/100 of a second but the Premiere inbuilt time code does not offer this option.
Is there a plugin available ?

  • Adjust Date/Time of Imported Video

I had to convert a couple of .MTS files to .MOV to bring them into Final Cut Pro X. I made this videos before I realized I needed to archive the file structure. I haven't been able to find the area in Final Cut that lets me adjust the date and time of a clip. All of my metadata is wrong because it is using the .MOV file creation date.
    Thanks!

One way is to trim the left edge of the timeline track with the mouse (grab the left edge of the blue rectangle under the canvas and drag it right.)
Another is to position the playhead at the frame you want to start the clip playing and type the 'i' key (mark an "IN" point).
You can slide the trimmed video play range in time by dragging the blue rectangle under the canvas.

  • How to View Date time stamp on Video

I am importing AVHD video into i move 8 and want to have date and time stamp on the video

    Three methods:
File>process multiple files>labels. Be sure to uncheck "same as source", or the originals will be overwritten. It is best to work on duplicate files, esp. while learning.
Use the horizontal or vertical type tool to add the information manually to each picture file
If the same information is to be applied to several pictures, e.g. a copyright notice, use  of a brush made in PSE is very efficient

  • Date Time and location is showing wrongly

Hi , running iPhone 4S on O2 network in UK and noticed today that the time has changed to TBILISI when set to 'Set Automatically' and when I look in google maps for my current location it shows me as being somewhere in Russia - any suggestions?

  • How do i show date and time info of videos in Iphone as they appeare before import in iPhoto?

How do i show date and time info of videos in Iphone as they appeare before import in iPhoto? or even as they appear on the iPhone itself? The selection on tool bar for show info is greyed out.

Welcome T G Brown to the  iMovie boards..
the socalled timestamp is within the imports.. if you select a clip in iM and hit the key combo Apple-I, you can see recording time and date.
unfortunately, this info isn't delivered to any software. Bruce Gee (geethree.com, excellent plug-in maker) told us, there's no 'API' he could use for such a feature...
same on the pro side, read this discussion at the FinalCutExpress boards:

Forum member Ian offers a solution with a 3rd party app ....
so: pen&pencil and typing timestamp manually into any 'Title' seems to be your only option...

  • IPhoto gets the wrong date/time when importing photos

I just imported a bunch of photos from a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I took the photos today, 10/22/05, but iPhoto has them labelled with yesterday's date. Furthermore, the times are incorrect, with AM and PM apparently switched.
Looking back now, it seems that there's the same problem with all of the photos I've imported with this camera (which I got last month). I don't know if iPhoto has been screwing these things up the whole time, or if this is something that just happened.
I've just triple checked the date/time setting on the camera and confirmed that it is correct. I've confirmed that my computer's date & time are correct also. The other data imported with each photo appears to be correct (e.g. camera make & modal, focal length, ISO speed, etc.).
Anyone have any idea what's going on and how I can fix it?

    Jason,
Which date are you referring to? The EXIF date that is in the Get info window, or the date that is listed in the left info window. If it is the date that is in the info window on the left it is easy enough to fix. Just highlight and put in the correct date. If you need to do this to a lot of images then use the batch change function.
If the EXIF data is wrong, I recommend using the software from canon to get the best EXIF data added to your pics. I realize this adds an additional step, but it will fix your problem. The other thing is that if you start to shoot in RAW, your camera is not supported by iPhoto. So if you attempt to import RAW files from the XT directly into iPhoto it will not import them. I have this camera and it is one of the reasons I have stopped using iPhoto for most things.
You can get the latest versions of the canon software from Canon.com I recommend using these as they are much better than what was in the box that came with my XT. If you plan on working with RAW get the Digital Photo Professional (DDP) Along with the Canons image browser. Both work well on my powerbook and should be great on a Powermac.
    Hope this helps.

  • Incorrect dates on iPhoto video when accessed by iMovie '09??

    Hi,
I have a few videos in iPhoto. All have the correct time and date.
iMovie '09 has access to these, but is showing the incorrect date on some of them (even though iPhoto is showing the correct date). The date is the same - 31 December 1903.
It has been like this since I first used iMovie '09.
    Can anybody help?
    Cheers.
BTW, how do I contact Apple support about something like this? I can't find any e-mail support.

NeddySeagoon - wondering if you found the answer to this?
I too have iPhoto videos showing up in iMovie fine, but the dates are wrong in iMovie (correct in iPhoto).
Also, I have updated video titles in iPhoto, but those titles are not showing up consistently in iMovie. Perhaps related issue, I'm not sure.
Any idea if this could be a permissions issue? (Video is stored on an external drive). Or something else?
    Thanks!

  • IPhoto Batch Date/Time change Suggestion

I recently traveled overseas with my family to a time zone that was +4:30 from my current location. During our trip I took 800+ photographs from my digital camera, 60+ from my iPhone and lots of video from my camcorder. It didn't occur to me until I got back home that not only did I not set the digital and camcorder to the local time where I was vacationing but also my digital camera had somehow been set 2-days back but with the correct home time. So it was actually 2days 4hours and 30minutes behind the time that it should have been. My iPhone photographs were fine because I set it to the local time as soon as I landed there.
Once I synced my camera & phone photographs I realized my problem as my entire vacation was in a jumbled mess. So then I went through the photographs and split the digital camera and iPhone photographs into 2 albums which was not too hard. Thereafter, I went through the digital camera photographs and adjusted the date/time stamp. Some of them I could do in batches, which is not very easy as you need to look at the current date/time stamp, then select the photographs you want to change and then do the math before making the change. The most of it I had to do individually to make sure they wouldn't get jumbled with the iPhone photographs I had taken. So to say the least, to adjust 800+ photographs took a long time and a lot of effort.
My suggestion is a simple batch change like what is available already, but with the option to advance or regress the date/time stamp letting the system use the current date/time stamp.

That command is the adjust time/date command - not the batch change command
Adjust T/D takes a group of selected photos and applies a constant delta to them thereby correcting for camera setting errors or time zone issues
Also note that this is a user to user support forum not a path to Apple - it is a great plce for questions about how iPhoto works - it is an extremely poor place to make requests for changes since there is no one here who can do that.

  • Date & Time are wrong, how is this possible.

    I am having a look at my inlaw's computer. Late 2008 15" MPB, 10.6.8/iLife 11.
One of the more strange things I've seen is that in Date & Time preferences the small section above the calendar where it should show the date i.e. 2/19/2012 is essentially missing. There's up and down arrows next to a tiny 1 character width box.
This is affecting multiple things within their user account in terms of files being tagged with the wrong date, in apps like mail, iphoto, etc. 11/24/11 is what is being tagged.
If you click on the clock in the menu bar, which I have set to display day of week, date, and time and is doing so correctly, just below it in the popup box that appears where it should display the same information and give the option for View as analog or digitial, it says Thursday, November 24, 2011 in gray instead of the correct date and time.
I have tried in a test user and issue does not persist.
I have tried SMC/PRAM resets. Persists.
I have tried deleting /etc/localtime. Persists.
I have tried 10.6.8 combo update. Persists.

    Try this.
Go to System Preferences > Date & Time > Formats
In the section for Dates, click the Customize button. You should get a screen that looks something like this -
In the upper area, showing boxes for Short, Medium, Long, and Full, make sure that no text has been entered into any of those boxes. They should contain only blue ovals. If you need to replace any of those, drag the appropriate ones up from the lower area of that screen.
Note that the info shown in the blue ovals is representative, and is not intended to show current date info in that screen.

  • IMovie 09 with incorrect dates from iPhoto video clips ?

Hello. I just noticed that the majority of dates in my iMovie 09 for my iPhoto video clips all show the date for 1903. I need to go back and change the date in too many video clips to count. Is there an easier way to go back to the orginal dates? Thank you.

  • Small QT videos takes long to load... oh and 1 min to open the Date & Time!

I just bought the new intel-based iMac (the 3rd choice on 4) and i can't believe how long it can take just to open a QuickTime video. _*The bigger is the file, the longer is the wait*_. I must warn you that I only tried to open .AVI and .WMV files. I installed the codecs in library/quickTime that i downloaded from apple downloads. Is it me or QT should appear instantly right when I double click on the video?
Another thing, it takes at least _*1 MINUTE just to open the DATE & TIME window*_. This is not normal at all. It takes 5 sec on the store's demo!!
I refund the 1st one because i thought maybe something was wrong with it and then the 2nd imac does the same thing. Anybody has that problem also?
Please help, i just switch from PC to mac. I dont want to be dissapointed by mac.

Well, there's a couple ways to handle this imo.
You can not let the door hit yah on the way out and go back to pc's (lol just adding some humor there)
But the best bet would be calling AppleCare and seeing if you can get someone to help troubleshoot. That would be the next step I would take. The resource is there and it beats waiting for someone with more troubleshooting skills than I to post something.
Could be a number of this but more than anything just a fluke since many others iMacs work without this issue or if they had it they aren't posting a fix.
Give AppleCare a call and have them run you though some steps like booting from dvd and performing hardware test, etc.
I hope you can find some resolution. I simply love this machine.
