Date/time original not set in EXIF

When importing TIF files without metadata in its header (e.g. from a scanner) using a metadata preset that does include the "date/time original" this date is ONLY set in the IPTC data block, not in the EXIF data block. This data item is supposed to be shared between IPTC, EXIF and XMP according to the metadata working group spec.
Is this an error or a feature of LR?
The only way I know to enter the "date/time original" into the EXIF block in LR is by editing the "edit/capture time" (via Library/Metadata) and shifting the time by 0 hours. This then copies the IPTC date into the EXIF block. Also works in batch.

It is the internal backup battery, but replacing it is not simple. Also, new internal batteries are hard to find. You will see a lot of "used" batteries offered--somewhat like buying used chewing gum, IMHO.
You don't say which of the many PowerBook variants you have, but OWC sells new replacement backup batteries only for the 1.67ghz PBs with 17-inch monitors:
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/PRAMPBG417K/
Instructions for battery replacement are in these service guides:
http://www.ifixit.com/Device/PowerBook_G4_Aluminum_Series
NOTE: Apparenlty, 12-inch PowerBooks do not have internal backup batteries. You will see from these instructions that replaceing the batery--assuming you can find one--is not a trivial matter.

  • Blank exif date time original field in some files (scanned images)

I have had some issues with scanned files or psd files where the date time original field does not exist or is blank. Mostly with scanned files. I would like to edit the field and fix the date; but the EXIF doesn't exist on scanned images or is a shorter data set excluding the date time original field.

Lightroom won't update or insert missing EXIF date fields into master files. However, if you export a file with a date/time edited in Lightroom, it will have valid EXIF date/time fields.

  • "RT Set date and time" does not set seconds in UTC mode

    Hallo,
I tried to set the time on my cRio 9012 with the function settimeUTC which is used by the "Set Date and Time" vi. But the seconds I enter are ADDED to the current time and not set as new value.
Even the vi shows this behaviour: I set up a vi in which the time is set in a loop (100ms delay) and read again. When I set local time the clock stops (as expected) but when I set the UTC time the seconds keep on running...
Can anybody help me with that problem???
    Thanks
    Florian
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Andreas,
well it does not matter if I set a time zone in the MAX or not. In my example I was working on UTC + 0 but even when I set it to my local time (UTC + 1) I get the same behaviour modified by one hour.
My LabView Version is 8.5. In in the MAX under Software-> LabView-RealTime it says that I am using 8.5.0.
I suspect  that the settime.out which is installed on the cRio is probably the root of the problem as VxWorks itself does not offer a function (at least I did not find one) to convert from broken down system time to system time in seconds. There only exist one to convert from broken down local time to system time in seconds ( mktime() ). The reverse function is available for both cases: gmtime() and localtime(). I also did not find a way to find out the offset of the local time. So I have to use the library function settimeUTC() from settime.out.
As I offered I can send you the settime.out file from my cRio for reference or maybe you can tell me how to find out what the version of the file is. It seems not to be an ELF file as I looked inside it to find some timestamp or version info...
    Thanks so far

When I create a reminder the date/time will not stay attached to the reminder. It initially sets then drops off. Any ideas?

Sounds like we have a similar problem.  Four days ago I was playing music through a wireless Bose speaker via bluetooth and everything was fine.  Then I was texting while listening and got 2 texts about the same time as I was typing one and my phone went black.  I pushed the home button and it worked, went into my texts and all were there.  However ever since then the time isn't right, so it can't keep time no matter what I do.  The bluetooth works only at times, the wifi keeps jumping on and off, sometimes my data won't work and the other day I couldn't even turn it off, so had to wait until it died.  The battery life display at that moment wasn't correct either.  Took to Verizon, they couldn't help.  Suggested a factory reset, which I did last night and still the same issues!  One day I couldn't even text my husband on his iPhone.  Just wouldn't work at all.  Did everything suggest and still not good.  Seems like after stalking these pages today a lot of people are having this problem in Dec/Jan and of course also I'm 3 weeks out of my 1 year warranty and so were many others, by days.  Very strange, and all on the 5C.  What did you do?  Is it working now?

  • Since last week my date & time have not worked on my 5c. The date & time are constantly wrong. I've shut down, doesn't work. Set it automatically, doesn't work. I don't get texts or calls when it's sleeping. Any suggestions?

    try a reset.

  • Date Time Original different in Lightroom and Bridge

Why is it that the Date Time Original in Lightroom is affected by whatever time zone the PC is set to? This is not the case in Bridge.
    Example:
I fly from San Francisco to Washington DC and set my notebook's time zone from Pacific Time to Eastern Time upon arrival. I also make the necessary adjustment to the Time on my camera. I shoot a photo at 6pm in Washington DC, upload it to my notebook and import it into Lightroom. Lightroom shows a Date Time Original of 6pm. So does Bridge. So far so good.
I return back to San Francisco and set my notebook's time zone back to Pacific Time. In Lightroom, the Date Time Original of that photo is now 3pm. In Bridge, it still gives a Date Time Original of 6pm.
Confusing? Yes, especially when traveling across lots of different time zones. In some cases, the Date Time Original will change not only the time, but the Date as well (if the change crosses midnight).
Try it for yourself. Take a look at the Date Time Original of any given photo in Lightroom, change the Time Zone on your PC, and see the Time change for yourself.
Since Bridge and Lightroom are both Adobe products, I have to wonder why they display EXIF times differently. Is this a bug? Or intentional?

I have been als been plagued by LR displaying the capture time to be, say 3 AM (03:00), when I know I took the picture at 1 PM (13:00). I decided to try and see why this happens. With the help of Phil Harvey's exiftool, I can see that my Canon cameras embed the time into the EXIF data without any time zone information i.e.: Date/Time Taken = 2008:04:02 16:09:23.
    Here is what I found:
If the image is now edited with Bridge, the information is changed to: Date/Time Taken = 2008:04:02 16:09:23-08:00 (time zone of the editing computer for the date the image was made. In this case the date was before daylight savings time started.)
When edited with GeoSetter (good for adding GPS information) the information is changed to: Date/Time Taken = 2008:04:02 16:09:23+02:00 (time zone for Cairo where the picture was taken.)
Lastly edited with LR, the information is changed to: Date/Time Taken = 2008:04:02 16:09:23-08:00
When the above images are viewed in LR, using PDT, they display the time as 17:09:23 except for the image tagged with the Cairo time, which displays 07:09:23. If the computer's time zone is changed the displayed time changes accordingly.
If the images are displayed with Photoshop CS3 all the times are correctly displayed as 16:09:23 as one would expect.
It appears that the factoring in of the time zone into the displayed time was a conscious decision by the Adobe designers. A decision that several of us are not happy with.

  • Date Time Original & Date Time Digitized bug

I have noticed that in Lightroom (1.1 or 1.2, doesn't matter) my photographs display WRONG Date Time Original & Date Time Digitized in the Metadata section. Both are exactly 30 minutes behind the actual time the photos were shot - eg., if I have shot a photo at 7:00pm, it will be shown as though it was shot at 6:30pm. Bridge correctly displays both this info. Any suggestions on how to rectify this info in Lightroom? Thanks,

If you are shooting RAW, take care with "Edit capture time". There is
evidence that it causes a rewrite of the RAW file by LR. This
kind of a rewrite is dangerous, sometimes causing corruption. See
    this thread for a discussion:

  • "Set date & time automatically" not staying checked

I don't know if this has already been discussed (searched and found nothing) but I just noticed tonight that on both my black MacBook and my new MacBook Pro will not retain the "Set date & time automatically" function. I check the box, close the window, open the date & time settings pane again and it's unclicked. I have no idea when this began happening but it's getting pretty annoying. I believe this could also be contributing to the older MacBook not working with Back to my Mac anymore.
    Anyone else having this problem?

    HI,
Open System Preferences/Date & Time. Make sure the box is checked for automatic. Now click the gold padlock icon so it's closed. You will be prompted for your admin password. Quit System Preferences and restart your Mac.
    See if that helps.
If not... Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • How can I display date+time and not the point number in excell?

    Hi everyone,
Could anybody tell me how I can save date + time to a file, so that  I can display on a diagram(excel) : date+time in (ox) and data (oy)? :
My program sets in (ox) the point number and not the date+time....( although  date and time are written correctly in the column...)
    Any help would be great,
    Thanks,
    regards,
    Marc

    hi there,
excel uses 01.01.1900 00:00 as the time offset, LabVIEW uses 01.01.1904 02:00, so you can't display the correct datetime in excel when you write the time as a fractional number of seconds from LabVIEW. you must format the datetime in LabVIEW to a string and write that to the column. use the "Format Date/Time String" - function and for example "%d.%m.%Y %H:%M:%S%3u" as the format string (see the functions help for more examples). you also could format your data to a string using "Format Into String" - function and write the file as a 2D string array. the decimal point you have to use depends on your system and its settings, but you can specify the decimal point in the Format string like "%.;%f" (means fractional number with point as decimal point).

  • Date/Time type not getting determined in ODO

When ODO is created, it's date/time type is not getting determined automatically. due to this, the route determination is not happening which is further creating problem in POSC setup.
I have setup  date/time types at the path IMG>EWM>Goods Issue Process>OBD>route determination>Define scheduling within route determination.  Here for my new document type+PDO catergory, I have set two date/time types TDELIVERY, TOUTYARD.
This is set for particular SAP client only.      In current status, to make the system work further, I need to update the ODO manually.
under IMG interfaces ERPintegration, map date types from ERP to EWM...  following are maintained correctly
    WSHDRCIDAT
    WSHDRKODAT
    WSHDRLDDAT
    WSHDRWADAT
    WSHDRWADTI

    Hello Santhosh,
I hope, you might have taken care of the below two screen shots.

  • Changing Date Time Original Tag from Date Created Tag

    Hi,
I need to change programmatically the "Date Time Orignal" tag by copying the "Date Created" Tag so that Media Encoder preserves the date during encoding. I can do this by hand without a problem in Bridget 5.5 but would like to automate it. Can I do this with a script?

  • Auto sync of Date & Time does not work on startup

Is there a reason why out of two entire labs of like 60 mac's that when restarted, a number of them will not look to sync up the date & time. I have every computer to do so, but for some odd reason, on a shutdown/restart, random computers will not sync up and ge the proper time.
The correct time is needed because these computers are running on with the AD Plugn, and AD will not allow computer user to login to the computer using AD user credentials if the time is not matched to the server. So what is happening, after a shutdown/restart, the computers can be off as much as a couple of mins, causing the users not able to login.
The only way right now to fix the issue is for me to log into the computer using my admin account, just open up the date/time preferences, and then with out doing anything, it will sync up to the correct time/date, and then I just restart the computer. Once restarted, users can login.
    Any ideas ??
    Tks.

    Hi Henning
Thanks for contacting SAP and providing with most of the details required to analyze the issue.
As per note 1235408,this is a known issue with Flex2.
Visual Composer UI elements are displayed relative to the browser size and not relative to each other.
Solution: None; there is no relative layout available for the Flex 2 runtime.
Workaround: Choose the "Actual size" option in the "Fit contents" list in the Configure task panel of the UI elements.
Please refer to the note for workaround on the issue.
See mentioned note if this also applies to your problem.

  • The date and time will not set why?

It keeps saying selecting date and time but never does. I tried signing in with my apple ID and it says to set date and time first and the only thing it lets me select is state.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
        1.    You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
        2.    Also try restarting the router.
        3.    If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
If this is a new Apple TV, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.
