ich muß (ohne Photoshop!) aus einer mit Photoshop gespeicherten JPEG/JFIF-Datei die "Objektbeschreibung" (aus den Datei-Informationen) auslesen.Kennt einer von Ihnen den genauen Aufbau des Photoshop-spezifischen Blocks innerhalb der JPEG/JFIF-Datei?
Hier mein bisheriger Kenntnisstand:

Lightroom JPEG export VS Photoshop Image Processor

Hey guys:
Long time photoshop and lightroom user (long time user of all things Adobe). First post here in the forums. I did a search for my question but I think it was too specific, so it returned zero results.
My question is about Lightroom's JPEG export vs Photoshops Image Processor. When I export a RAW file to JPEG from Lightroom, the file size is freaking huge. The JPEG is as big as my original RAW file (~25mb). Settings are set to default - 100 quality. Everything else remains untouched.
However, when I use Photoshop's image processor (I launch it through Bridge, easier that way for me) and process the RAW images that way, my JPEGs are roughly 5-10mb in size. Settings in Image Processor are quality 10 and thats it. No actions being run or anything.
Can anyone shed some light as to why Lightroom exports JPEGs that are roughly 2-4 times the size of Photoshop's JPEGs? My initial thoughts are that the 100 quality setting in Lightroom is more like Photoshop's quality 12 (that always makes me think of Spinal Tap - "Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?" "These go to eleven.") Ideally, exporting out of Lightroom would be much easier for my workflow.

You are correct: LR Quality 100 = PS Quality 12
Despite LR having 101 Quality settings (0 to 100) it actually only has 12 Quality settings the same as PS 'Baseline Standard':

I keep a small copy of the above table taped to my monitor. I chose the numbers under the 'LR' column for the 12 steps (not AA's) to make it easier to remember. In actuality ANY number in the LR Range column will produce the same results for each step.
Under the 'Typical Reduction' column notice the small amount of reduction for PS 6 (LR 47-53%) Quality setting. If interested why AND why you probably shouldn't use PS 7 (LR 54-61%) Quality setting see this post:

Installation von Photoshop Elements 4.0

Hallo zusammen,
seit gestern bin ich stolzer Besitzer von Photoshop-Elements 4.0.
Bei der Installation fiel mir der Ordner Zugaben auf.
Die darin enthaltene Dither-Box konnte ich, dank der vorhandenen ausführlichen Hinweise, problemlos einbinden. Was muss ich jedoch tun, um die gleichfalls in diesem Ordner enthaltenen Hintergründe, Rahmen und das Sammelbuch einzubinden? Bitte helfen Sie mir und
beachten Sie bitte bei Ihrer Antwort, dass ich kein Computerspezialist bin.

Cannot open JPEG images in Photoshop CS3

When I try to open jpeg pictures in photoshop cs3, i get an error: "Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found."
It has just recently begun doing this, like maybe three days ago. Has anyone ever seen this error, or know how to solve it?
my system specs... AMD Turion tl-60 @ 2.0 GHz, 4gb Ram in vista 32 SP1, nvidia ge-force 7600, main hdd 200 GB 7200 RPM drive, 2nd hdd 80 GB 5400 RPM drive

I am getting errors (same as at top of thread, "invalid JPEG marker") saving a TIF as a JPEG, and then attempting to reopen the JPEG.
It seems to mostly work OK the first time, but if I then reopen the same TIF and save as a JPEG again - that JPEG will usually be corrupted. If I close Elements 2 each time, before opening a TIF and saving another JPEG, there is no problem.
I tried opening the corrupt JPEG with several other programs, and it definitely is corrupted.
This error did not occur several months ago as far as I am aware. We have tried this on all 4 of our computers. I am thinking that a Windows Update may be causing the problem. I tried using System Restore to go back to April 17th, but after 45 mins it announced that it couldn't restore, so I am reluctant to try another date.)

ich habe noch eine alte Photoshop Version (5.5 Win Full Product D) und würde gerne ein Update kaufen.
Nun gibt es im Adobe-Shop die Position "Adobe photoshop CS2 Upgrade (Windows) German" mit dem Hinweis:
Um das Upgrade installieren zu können, müssen Sie eine lizenzierte Version von Photoshop CS, Photoshop 7.0 oder früher für dieselbe Oberfläche besitzen.
Nun meine Frage: bezieht sich das "oder früher" auch auf Photoshop 5.5?
Wer weiss Bescheid?

Hallo Thorsten,
meines Erachtens kannst Du Dir das upgrade zulegen. Es sollte bei der Installation keine Probleme geben. Schließlich gibts noch genügend Anwender die noch kein PS7 besitzen, außerdem möchte Adobe gerne Anwender älterer Versionen als neue Kunden gewinnen. Also nur zu.

Was tun, wenn die Installation von Photoshop elements 11 abgebrochen wird?

Deinstallation von Photoshop elements 11 ist unter Windows 7 über die Systemsteuerung nicht möglich; der Vorgang wird abgebrochen und ein Fenster öffnet sich mit einem Link zur Fehlerbehebung bei Adobe. Dort finden sich keine Hilfen.
Wie lösche ich dieses Programm wieder restlos?

Testversion von Photoshop weg. Was tun?

Nach einem Zurücksetzen meines Computer, war meine Testversion von Photoshop weg. Ich wollte sie erneut runterladen, jedoch bekomme ich immer eine Fehlermeldung. Jetzt läuft meine Testversion und ich kann sie nicht nutzen. Was kann ich machen?

Ich benutze Photoshop CC. Die Fehlermeldung lautet: Fehler bei der Installation (U44MIP7).
Ich habe heute tagsüber mit einem Adobe Mitarbeiter gechattet (leider saß ich nicht an meinem Computer, so dass ich die Schritte nicht gleich testen konnte.)
Er sagte mir, dass ich Photoshop deinstallieren soll, falls es noch auf dem Computer zu finden ist. Ist es nicht, daher konnte ich das nicht machen. Habe die Cloud deinstalliert und dann einen Neustart gemacht.
Dann sagte er mir, dass ich folgendem Pfad folgen soll:
C:\Benutzer\[Benutzername]\AppData\Local\Adobe\ und den Ordner „OOBE“ löschen soll. Der Pfad ist nur bis zum Benutzername aufzufinden. Alle weiteren Schritte gibt es nicht und auch keinen „OOBE“ Ordner.
Eine Neuinstallation hat nicht geklappt. Ich bekomme immer die Fehlermeldung.
Wie komme ich an meine Testversion????

Trouble importing JPEGs saved in Photoshop.

Here's a brief description of my workflow: I shoot Canon EOS 350D, import RAW files into Lightroom, correct them there, then edit some pictures in Photoshop, save as JPEGs and when all's ready, import the shoot into iPhoto because I prefer to keep the images there.
But I'm frequently having troubles with the JPEGs saved in Photoshop: iPhoto gives me an error that the files were in corrupt format and could not be imported. However, I can open em up in Preview just fine. So I have to re-import them into Lightroom and export them again from there. This time the images get sucked into iPhoto just fine. Any ideas what might be causing this? And what is the solution?

Du mußt es komplett neu kaufen oder Creative Cloud abonnieren. Aus dem Upgradezyklus biste raus...

Hallo, Ihr Lieben,
vermutlich kennen einige von Euch diese haarsträubende Mitteilung.
Hat denn jemand von Euch ein Patentrezept, wie ich meine Datei wieder öffnen kann? Ich möchte nicht noch einmal ganz von vorne anfangen!
Im Support hilft man mir nicht mehr, weil meine "Uralt"-Version von Photoshop (CS5) nicht mehr supportet wird.
Die Testversion eines Repairtools hat mir gezeigt, dass sich das Dokument wiederherstellen lässt, allerdings nur mit Wasserzeichen im Hintergrund, solange ich keine Vollversion kaufe.
Ich hoffe so auf einen bewährten Trick, da ich noch kein Photoshop-internes Repair-Tool gefunden habe und eigentlich keine Lust habe, zusätzlich zu der teuren Adobe-Suite auch noch Geld auszugeben für ein Tool, das repariert, was Photoshop mir zerstört hat (das zweite Mal bereits).

ich werde das Programm mal ausprobieren. Wenn Du damit schon Dateien retten konntest, könnte das in meinem Fall ja auch funktionieren. Vielen Dank schon einmal dafür!
Was die Fehlermeldung betrifft, so hatte ich vergessen, im Thread zu erwähnen, dass die Meldung tatsächlich nichts mit der Kompatibilität zu tun hat. GIMP beispielsweise meldet den Schaden an der Datei "realistischer": "Unbekanntes Dateiende".
Denn: Die Datei, die mir kaputt gegangen war, hatte ich kurz zuvor selbst in Photoshop bearbeitet: Ich habe ein TIF in Photoshop geöffnet, es bearbeitet, es mit allen Ebenen als PSD gespeichert, geschlossen, wollte es später noch einmal öffnen (in der Zwischenzeit hatte ich Photoshop nicht einmal beendet), und bekam dann die Meldung.
Im selben Ordner lag auf einmal auch eine ~.tmp-Datei, die wohl damit zu tun hat. Ich nehme an, Photoshop hat die Datei schlicht nicht fertig gespeichert. Umso ärgerlicher demnach die Meldung, weil sie inhaltlich schlicht falsch ist (Adobe hat sich also nicht einmal die Mühe gemacht, für diesen Bug eine extra Fehlermeldung zu programmieren, geschweigedenn ein Reparatur-Feature, mit dem das Programm seine Fehler selbst ausmerzen kann, so wie es das kostenpflichtige Repair-Tool macht).
Was die temporäre Datei betrifft, so habe ich auch noch nicht herausgefunden, ob und wie man sie mit der beschädigten irgendwie kombiniert, zusammenbringt, emulgiert... was auch immer, sodass die beiden eine letztlich funktionierende Liaison eingehen und das PSD sich öffnet.
Aber ich probiere jetzt einfach erst einmal das von Dir vorgeschlagene Tool und sehe, was passiert.

2 Versionen von Photoshop Lightroom auf dem PC

3 Versuch: Im Zuge der Installation von Photoshop Lightroom 5 von einer CD habe ich nun 2 Versionen auf dem PC: 5.0.1 mit 958 MB und 5.3.1 mit 0,98 GB. Die erste Version stammt wohl von einer - zeitlich abgelaufenen - Testversion. Soll ich beide Versionen deinstallieren und dann neu von der CD aufspielen oder nur 1 Version deinstallieren ggf. welche? Danke. Bei Antwort bitte berücksichtigen, dass ich kein Computer-Experte bin. Why does Encore not recognize jpegs made in Photoshop?

I use CS5 Master Suite on a Mac running the latest version of Snow Leopard.
I am trying to make a DVD slideshow. I made a bunch of jpegs of a recent holiday trip using Photoshop CS5. However, when I try to import the jpegs, I get this strange dialog error message "The software available to decode the menus is not available on this system." Encore then nearly crashes as I try to get rid of the error dialog.
This is strange given that I used Photoshop CS5 to make the jpegs, Encore and Photoshop are both creations of Adobe, the version of PS I am using is on my system -- the same system that Encore is on -- so any codecs needed ought to be here.
This also occurs with psd files as well.
With those same jpegs, I was able to make a rather lame slideshow DVD using iDVD, but I'd rather have more creative control.
What is going on? Any suggestions? I've downloaded all the latest and greatest updates for all Creative Suite apps.

Make sure your aspect ratio is correct, so to do that you either use the Photoshop template, or else design in square pixels & resize.
For 16:9, that is 860x480 NTSC and 1024x576 PAL
(960x540 also works, but you will see vertical reduction as well as horizontal reduction there which can - and does - play havoc with text).
For 4:3 that is 640x480 NTSC and 768x576 for PAL.
Resize accordingly afterwards for anamorphic squeezing to get the correct PAR.
Why would you want to even try using anything else at higher resolutions for DVD???
Makes no sense, as what you input will not look like what comes out of the other end.
